மத்தேயு 8
As he went down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
2 ௨ அப்பொழுது குஷ்டரோகி ஒருவன் வந்து அவரைப் பணிந்து: ஆண்டவரே! உமக்கு விருப்பமானால், என்னை சுத்தப்படுத்த உம்மால் முடியும் என்றான்.
And behold! a leper came and knelt before him, saying, "Lord if you choose, you can make me clean."
3 ௩ இயேசு தமது கையை நீட்டி அவனைத் தொட்டு: எனக்கு விருப்பமுண்டு, சுத்தமாகு என்றார். உடனே குஷ்டரோகம் நீங்கி அவன் சுத்தமானான்.
Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him "I do choose," he said, "become clean," and immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
4 ௪ இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: இதை நீ ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லாதபடி எச்சரிக்கையாக இரு; ஆனாலும், அவர்களுக்குச் சாட்சியாக நீ போய் ஆசாரியனுக்கு உன்னைக் காண்பித்து, மோசே கட்டளையிட்ட காணிக்கையைச் செலுத்து என்றார்.
Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded, as an evidence to them."
When he entered Capernaum, an army captain came, and entered him,
6 ௬ ஆண்டவரே! என் வேலைக்காரன் வீட்டிலே பக்கவாதமாகக் கிடந்து மிகவும் வேதனைப்படுகிறான் என்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.
saying, "Lord, my slave at home is lying ill with paralysis, in terrible agony."
"I will come and heal him," said Jesus.
8 ௮ அந்தத் தலைவன் மறுமொழியாக: ஆண்டவரே! நீர் என் வீட்டிற்குள் பிரவேசிக்க நான் தகுதியானவன் இல்லை; ஒரு வார்த்தைமட்டும் சொல்லும்; அப்பொழுது என் வேலைக்காரன் சுகமாவான்.
"Lord, "said the captain in reply, "I am not worthy to have you under my roof, but speak the word only, and my slave will be cured,
9 ௯ நான் அதிகாரத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவனாக இருந்தும், எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருக்கிற போர்வீரர்களும் உண்டு; நான் ஒருவனைப் போ என்றால் போகிறான், மற்றொருவனை வா என்றால் வருகிறான், என் வேலைக்காரனை, இதைச் செய் என்றால் செய்கிறான் என்றான்.
"For I myself also am a man under authority, and I have soldiers under me. To one man I say ‘Go,’ and he goes; to another,’Come,’ and he comes; and to my slave, ‘Do this,’ and he does it."
10 ௧0 இயேசு இதைக்கேட்டு ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு, தமக்குப்பின்னே வருகிறவர்களைப் பார்த்து: இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளும் நான் இப்படிப்பட்ட விசுவாசத்தைக் காணவில்லை என்று, உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
As Jesus listened to this reply he was astonished, and said to those who followed him. "In solemn truth I tell you that I have found faith like this in any Israelite.
11 ௧௧ அநேகர் கிழக்கிலும் மேற்கிலுமிருந்து வந்து, பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் ஆபிரகாம் ஈசாக்கு யாக்கோபு என்பவர்களோடு பந்தியிருப்பார்கள்.
"I tell you that many will come from the east and from the west, and sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 ௧௨ ராஜ்யத்தின் பிள்ளைகளோ, வெளியில் உள்ள இருளிலே தள்ளப்படுவார்கள்; அங்கே அழுகையும் பற்கடிப்பும் உண்டாயிருக்குமென்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
"but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be the wailing and the gnashing of teeth."
13 ௧௩ பின்பு இயேசு அந்தத் தலைவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ போகலாம், நீ விசுவாசித்தபடியே உனக்கு ஆகக்கடவது என்றார். அதே மணிநேரத்திலே அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் சுகமானான்.
Then Jesus said to the captain. "Go! As you have believed, so be it unto you." And his slave was healed in that very hour.
When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he found his wife’s mother prostrated with fever.
15 ௧௫ அவர் அவளுடைய கையைத் தொட்டவுடனே ஜூரம் அவளைவிட்டு நீங்கியது; அவள் எழுந்திருந்து, அவர்களுக்குப் பணிவிடைசெய்தாள்.
He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose and waited upon him.
16 ௧௬ மாலைநேரமானபோது, பிசாசு பிடித்திருந்த அநேகரை அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவர் அந்த ஆவிகளைத் தமது வார்த்தையினாலே துரத்தி, வியாதியஸ்தர்கள் எல்லோரையும் சுகமாக்கினார்.
At evening-time they brought to him many demoniacs. He cast out the demons with a word, and healed all who were ill,
17 ௧௭ அவர்தாமே நம்முடைய பெலவீனங்களை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, நம்முடைய நோய்களைச் சுமந்தார் என்று, ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியினால் சொல்லப்பட்டது நிறைவேறும்படி இப்படி நடந்தது.
that the word spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, He took upon himself our weaknesses, and bore the burden of our diseases.
18 ௧௮ பின்பு, திரளான மக்கள் தம்மைச் சுற்றியிருக்கிறதை இயேசு கண்டு, அக்கரைக்குப் போகக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.
When Jesus saw the great crowds about him, he had given directions to cross to the other side,
19 ௧௯ அப்பொழுது, வேதபண்டிதன் ஒருவன் வந்து: போதகரே! நீர் எங்கே போனாலும் உம்மைப் பின்பற்றி வருவேன் என்றான்.
when a Scribe came up and said to him, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go!"
20 ௨0 அதற்கு இயேசு: நரிகளுக்குக் குழிகளும் வானத்துப் பறவைகளுக்குக் கூடுகளும் உண்டு; மனிதகுமாரனுக்கோ தலைசாய்க்க இடமில்லை என்றார்.
"Foxes have their holes," answered Jesus, "and wild birds their roosting-places, but the Son of man has not where to lay his head."
21 ௨௧ அவருடைய சீடர்களில் வேறொருவன் அவரைப் பார்த்து: ஆண்டவரே! முன்பு நான் போய், என் தகப்பனை அடக்கம்செய்ய எனக்கு அனுமதி கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
Another of his disciples said to him, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father,"
22 ௨௨ அதற்கு இயேசு: மரித்தோர் தங்களுடைய மரித்தோரை அடக்கம் செய்யட்டும், நீ என்னைப் பின்பற்றிவா என்றார்.
"Follow me," Jesus said to him, "and leave the dead to bury their own dead."
Then he went in board a fishing-boat, his disciples accompanying him;
24 ௨௪ அப்பொழுது படகு அலைகளினால் மூடப்படத்தக்கதாகக் கடலில் பெருங்காற்று உண்டானது. அவரோ தூங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.
and behold, a sudden storm arose on the sea, so that the boat began to be buried by the waves.
25 ௨௫ அப்பொழுது, அவருடைய சீடர்கள் வந்து, அவரை எழுப்பி: ஆண்டவரே! எங்களைக் காப்பாற்றும், மரித்துப்போகிறோம் என்றார்கள்.
But he was asleep. And they came and woke him, saying. "Lord save us! We are drowning!"
26 ௨௬ அதற்கு அவர்: விசுவாசக்குறைவுள்ளவர்களே! ஏன் பயப்படுகிறீர்கள் என்று சொல்லி; எழுந்து, காற்றையும் கடலையும் அதட்டினார், உடனே, மிகுந்த அமைதல் உண்டானது.
"Why are you afraid?" he said, "you men of little faith!" Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there came a great calm.
27 ௨௭ அந்த மனிதர்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: இவர் எப்படிப்பட்டவரோ, காற்றும் கடலும் இவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறதே என்றார்கள்.
But the men were amazed, saying, "What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?"
28 ௨௮ அவர் அக்கரையிலே கெர்கெசேனர் நாட்டிற்கு வந்தபோது, பிசாசுகள் பிடித்திருந்த இரண்டுபேர் கல்லறைகளிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, அவருக்கு எதிராக வந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் மிகவும் கொடியவர்களாக இருந்தபடியால், அந்தவழியாக ஒருவனும் நடக்கக்கூடாமலிருந்தது.
When he arrived on the other side, in the country of the Gadarenes, he was met by two demoniacs who were coming out of the tombs. They were so violently fierce that no one dared pass along that road.
29 ௨௯ அவர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: இயேசுவே, தேவனுடைய குமாரனே, எங்களுக்கும் உமக்கும் என்ன? காலம் வருமுன்னே எங்களை வேதனைப்படுத்த இங்கே வந்தீரோ என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.
"You Son of God," they shouted, "what have you to do with us? Are you come to torment us before the time?"
Now there was, at some distance from them, a herd of many swine feeding;
31 ௩௧ அப்பொழுது, பிசாசுகள்: நீர் எங்களைத் துரத்துவீரானால், நாங்கள் அந்தப் பன்றிகளுக்குள் போகும்படி அனுமதிகொடும் என்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டன.
and the demons began entreating him. "If you are driving us out," they said, "send us into the herd of swine."
32 ௩௨ அதற்கு அவர்: போங்கள் என்றார். அவைகள் புறப்பட்டு, பன்றிகளுக்குள் சென்றன; அப்பொழுது, பன்றிக்கூட்டமெல்லாம் உயர்ந்த மேட்டிலிருந்து கடலிலே பாய்ந்து தண்ணீரில் இறந்துபோயின.
He answered, "Go!" So they came out of the men, and went into the swine, and behold! the entire herd rushed headlong down from the cliff into the sea, and perished in the water.
33 ௩௩ அவைகளை மேய்த்தவர்கள் ஓடி, பட்டணத்தில் சென்று, இந்தச் செய்திகள் எல்லாவற்றையும், பிசாசு பிடித்திருந்தவர்களுக்கு நடந்தவைகளையும் அறிவித்தார்கள்.
The swineherds fled. They went away into the city and told all about it, and what had befallen the demoniacs.
34 ௩௪ அப்பொழுது, அந்தப் பட்டணத்தார் அனைவரும் இயேசுவிற்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்து, அவரைக்கண்டு, தங்களுடைய எல்லைகளைவிட்டுப்போகும்படி அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
At once all the citizens came out to meet Jesus; and when they had seen him, they begged him to move away from their country.
