மத்தேயு 26
And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these words, that he said to his disciples:
2 ௨ இரண்டு நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு பஸ்காபண்டிகை வருமென்று அறிவீர்கள்; அப்பொழுது, மனிதகுமாரன் சிலுவையில் அறையப்படுவதற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவார் என்றார்.
You know that after two days the passover is kept, and the Son of man is delivered up to be crucified.
3 ௩ அப்பொழுது, பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் வேதபண்டிதர்களும் மக்களின் மூப்பர்களும், காய்பா என்னப்பட்ட தலைமை ஆசாரியனுடைய அரண்மனையிலே கூடிவந்து,
Then the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people met together at the palace of the chief priest, who was called Caiaphas.
And they consulted together that they might take Jesus by craft and kill him.
But they said: Not during the feast, lest there be a tumult among the people.
When Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 ௭ ஒரு பெண் விலையேறப்பெற்ற பரிமள தைலமுள்ள வெள்ளைக்கல் ஜாடியைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அவர் உணவு பந்தியிலிருக்கும்போது, அந்தத் தைலத்தை அவர் தலையின்மேல் ஊற்றினாள்.
there came to him a woman who had an alabaster box of very costly ointment; and she poured it on his head as he reclined at table.
But when his disciples saw it, they were displeased, and said: For what purpose was this waste?
For this could have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10 ௧0 இயேசு அதை அறிந்து, அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் இந்தப் பெண்ணை ஏன் தொந்தரவு படுத்துகிறீர்கள்? என்னிடத்தில் நற்செயலைச் செய்திருக்கிறாள்.
Jesus perceived it, and said to them: Why do you trouble the woman? For she has performed a good work upon me.
For you have the poor always with you, but me you have not always.
12 ௧௨ இவள் இந்தத் தைலத்தை என் சரீரத்தின்மேல் ஊற்றினது என்னை அடக்கம் செய்வதற்கு சமமான செய்கையாக இருக்கிறது.
For in pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial.
13 ௧௩ இந்த நற்செய்தி உலகத்தில் எங்கெங்கே பிரசங்கிக்கப்படுமோ அங்கங்கே இவளை நினைப்பதற்காக இவள் செய்ததும் சொல்லப்படும் என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
Verily I say to you, Wherever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, this also which she has done shall be told for a memorial of her.
14 ௧௪ அப்பொழுது, பன்னிரண்டுபேரில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து என்பவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களிடத்திற்குப்போய்:
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests,
15 ௧௫ நான் அவரை உங்களுக்குக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறேன், நீங்கள் எனக்கு என்ன கொடுக்கிறீர்கள் என்றான். அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசைக் கொடுக்க ஒத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்.
and said: What are you willing to give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they weighed to him thirty pieces of silver.
And from that time he sought an opportunity to deliver him up.
17 ௧௭ புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப்பண்டிகையின் முதல்நாளிலே, சீடர்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து: பஸ்காவைப் புசிப்பதற்கு நாங்கள் எங்கே உமக்கு ஆயத்தம்செய்ய விருப்பமாக இருக்கிறீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
On the first day of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus, and said to him: Where dost thou wish that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18 ௧௮ அதற்கு அவர்: நீங்கள் நகரத்திலே இன்னானிடத்திற்குப்போய்: என் வேளை சமீபமாக இருக்கிறது, உன் வீட்டிலே என் சீடர்களோடுகூட பஸ்காவை ஆசரிப்பேன் என்று போதகர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று அவனுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்.
He replied: Go into the city, to a certain man, and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is near; I will keep the passover at your house, with my disciples.
And the disciples did as Jesus commanded them, and prepared the passover.
When the evening had come, he reclined at table with the twelve.
21 ௨௧ அவர்கள் உணவு உண்ணும்போது, அவர்: உங்களிலொருவன் என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான் என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
And as they were eating, he said: Verily I say to you, One of you will deliver me up.
22 ௨௨ அப்பொழுது, அவர்கள் மிகவும் துக்கமடைந்து, அவரைப் பார்த்து: ஆண்டவரே, நானோ, நானோ? என்று ஒவ்வொருவராகக் கேட்கத்தொடங்கினார்கள்.
And they were very sad, and began each one of them to say to him: Lord, is it I?
He answered and said: He that dips his hand with me in the dish, will deliver me up.
24 ௨௪ மனிதகுமாரன் தம்மைக்குறித்து எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே போகிறார்; ஆனாலும், எந்த மனிதனால் மனிதகுமாரன் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கப்படுகிறாரோ, அந்த மனிதனுக்கு ஐயோ; அந்த மனிதன் பிறக்காதிருந்தானானால் அவனுக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும் என்றார்.
The Son of man goes, as it is written of him; but alas for that man by whom the Son of man is delivered up! It would have been good for that man, if he had not been born.
25 ௨௫ அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்த யூதாசும் அவரைப் பார்த்து: ரபீ, நானோ? என்றான்; அதற்கு அவர்: நீ சொன்னபடிதான் என்றார்.
And Judas, who delivered him up, answered and said: Rabbi, is it I? He replied: You have said.
26 ௨௬ அவர்கள் உணவு உண்ணும்போது, இயேசு அப்பத்தை எடுத்து, ஆசீர்வதித்து, அதைப் பிட்டு, சீடர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து: நீங்கள் வாங்கிச்சாப்பிடுங்கள், இது என்னுடைய சரீரமாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்.
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said: Take, eat; this is my body.
27 ௨௭ பின்பு, பாத்திரத்தையும் எடுத்து, நன்றிசெலுத்தி, அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து: நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் இதிலே பானம்பண்ணுங்கள்;
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying: Do you all drink of it:
28 ௨௮ இது பாவமன்னிப்புண்டாகும்படி அநேகருக்காகச் சிந்தப்படுகிற புதிய ஒப்பந்தத்திற்குரிய என்னுடைய இரத்தமாக இருக்கிறது.
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many in order to the remission of sins.
29 ௨௯ இதுமுதல் இந்தத் திராட்சைப்பழரசத்தை புதிதானதாக உங்களோடுகூட என் பிதாவின் ராஜ்யத்திலே நான் பானம்பண்ணும் நாள்வரை இதைப் பானம்பண்ணுவதில்லையென்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
But I say to you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, till that day when I drink it with you new in the kingdom of my Father.
And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
31 ௩௧ அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: மேய்ப்பனை வெட்டுவேன்; மந்தையின் ஆடுகள் சிதறடிக்கப்படும் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, இந்த இரவிலே நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் என்னிமித்தம் இடறலடைவீர்கள்.
Then Jesus said to them: All of you will he offended at me this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered.
But after I have risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 ௩௩ பேதுரு அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: உமதுநிமித்தம் எல்லோரும் இடறலடைந்தாலும், நான் ஒருபோதும் இடறலடையமாட்டேன் என்றான்.
Peter answered and said to him: Though all shall be offended at thee, yet will I never be offended.
34 ௩௪ இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: இந்த இரவிலே சேவல் கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்னே, நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று, உண்மையாகவே உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
Jesus said to him: Verily I say to you, This night, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.
35 ௩௫ அதற்குப் பேதுரு: நான் உம்மோடே மரிக்கவேண்டியதாயிருந்தாலும் உம்மை மறுதலிக்கமாட்டேன் என்றான்; சீடர்கள் எல்லோரும் அப்படியே சொன்னார்கள்.
Peter said to him: Though it should be necessary for me to die with thee, I will not deny thee. In like manner said all the disciples.
36 ௩௬ அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களோடு கெத்செமனே என்னப்பட்ட இடத்திற்கு வந்து, சீடர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் அங்கே போய் ஜெபம்செய்யும்வரை நீங்கள் இங்கே உட்கார்ந்திருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி;
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to his disciples: Sit here, till I go and pray yonder.
37 ௩௭ பேதுருவையும் செபெதேயுவின் குமாரர்கள் இருவரையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், துக்கமடையவும் வியாகுலப்படவும் தொடங்கினார்.
And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be in deep distress and anguish of soul.
38 ௩௮ அப்பொழுது, அவர்: என் ஆத்துமா மரணத்திற்குரிய துக்கங்கொண்டிருக்கிறது; நீங்கள் இங்கே தங்கி, என்னோடுகூட விழித்திருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,
Then Jesus said to them: My soul is encompassed with sorrow even to death; remain here, and watch with me.
39 ௩௯ சிறிது விலகிப்போய், முகங்குப்புறவிழுந்து: என் பிதாவே, இந்தப் பாத்திரம் என்னைவிட்டு நீங்கக்கூடுமானால் நீங்கும்படிச் செய்யும்; ஆனாலும் என் விருப்பத்தின்படியல்ல, உம்முடைய விருப்பத்தின்படியே ஆகக்கடவது என்று ஜெபம்செய்தார்.
And he went forward a little, and fell on his face in prayer, saying: My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not as I will, but as thou willest.
40 ௪0 பின்பு, அவர் சீடர்களிடத்தில் வந்து, அவர்கள் நித்திரைபண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டு, பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் ஒருமணி நேரமாவது என்னோடுகூட விழித்திருக்கக்கூடாதா?
And he came to his disciples, and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter: Was it so, that you had not strength to watch with me one hour?
41 ௪௧ நீங்கள் சோதனைக்குட்படாதபடிக்கு விழித்திருந்து ஜெபம்செய்யுங்கள்; ஆவி உற்சாகமுள்ளதுதான், மாம்சமோ பலவீனமுள்ளது என்றார்.
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit is, willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 ௪௨ அவர் மறுபடியும் இரண்டாம்முறை போய்: என் பிதாவே, இந்தப் பாத்திரத்தில் நான் பானம்பண்ணினாலொழிய இது என்னைவிட்டு நீங்கக்கூடாதாகில், உம்முடைய விருப்பத்தின்படி ஆகக்கடவது என்று ஜெபம்செய்தார்.
Again, a second time, he went away, and prayed, saying: My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me, unless I drink it, thy will be done.
43 ௪௩ அவர் திரும்ப வந்தபோது, அவர்கள் மறுபடியும் நித்திரைபண்ணுகிறதைக் கண்டார்; அவர்களுடைய கண்கள் மிகுந்த நித்திரைமயக்கம் அடைந்திருந்தது.
And he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 ௪௪ அவர் மறுபடியும் அவர்களைவிட்டுப்போய், மூன்றாம்முறையும் அந்த வார்த்தைகளையே சொல்லி ஜெபம்செய்தார்.
And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
45 ௪௫ பின்பு அவர் தம்முடைய சீடர்களிடத்தில் வந்து: இன்னும் நித்திரைபண்ணி இளைப்பாறுகிறீர்களா? இதோ, மனிதகுமாரன் பாவிகளுடைய கைகளில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுகிற நேரம்வந்தது.
Then he came to his disciples, and said to them: Bleep what time is left, and take your rest; behold, the hour draws near, and the Son of man is delivered into the hands of sinners.
Arise, let us go; behold, he that delivers me up is at hand.
47 ௪௭ அவர் இப்படிப் பேசும்போது, பன்னிரண்டுபேரில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ் வந்தான்; அவனோடுகூட பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் மக்களின் மூப்பர்களும் அனுப்பின திரளான மக்கள் பட்டயங்களையும் தடிகளையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
And while he was yet speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 ௪௮ அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறவன்: நான் எவனை முத்தம்செய்வேனோ அவன்தான், அவனைப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்கு அடையாளம் சொல்லியிருந்தான்.
He that delivered him up had given them a sign, saying: The one that I shall kiss is he; hold him fast.
And immediately he came to Jesus, and said: Hail, Rabbi! and kissed him.
50 ௫0 இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து; நண்பனே, எதற்காக வந்திருக்கிறாய் என்றார். அப்பொழுது, அவர்கள் கிட்டவந்து, இயேசுவைப் பிடித்தார்கள்.
Jesus said to him: Friend, for what purpose have you come? Then they came, and laid hands on Jesus, and held him fast.
51 ௫௧ அப்பொழுது இயேசுவோடிருந்தவர்களில் ஒருவன் கையை நீட்டித் தன் பட்டயத்தை உருவி, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரனின் காது அறுந்துபோக வெட்டினான்.
And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck the servant of the chief priest, and cut off his ear.
52 ௫௨ அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: உன் பட்டயத்தைத் திரும்ப அதின் உறையிலே போடு; பட்டயத்தை எடுக்கிற அனைவரும் பட்டயத்தால் அழிந்துபோவார்கள்.
Then Jesus said to him: Put back your sword into its place; for all that take the sword, shall perish by the sword.
53 ௫௩ நான் இப்பொழுது என் பிதாவை வேண்டிக்கொண்டால், அவர் பன்னிரண்டு லேகியோனுக்கு அதிகமான தூதர்களை என்னிடத்தில் அனுப்பமாட்டாரென்று நினைக்கிறாயா?
Do you think that I can not now call upon my Father, and he would cause more than twelve legions of angels to stand by me?
54 ௫௪ அப்படிச் செய்வேனானால், இவ்விதமாக நடைபெறவேண்டும் என்கிற வேதவாக்கியங்கள் எப்படி நிறைவேறும் என்றார்.
But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 ௫௫ அந்த நேரத்திலே இயேசு மக்களைப் பார்த்து: திருடனைப்பிடிக்கப் புறப்படுகிறதுபோல, நீங்கள் பட்டயங்களையும் தடிகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு என்னைப் பிடிக்கவந்தீர்கள்; நான் தினந்தோறும் உங்கள் நடுவிலே உட்கார்ந்து தேவாலயத்தில் உபதேசம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்தேன்; அப்பொழுது, நீங்கள் என்னைப் பிடிக்கவில்லையே.
At the same time Jesus said to the multitudes: Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs, to take me? I sat daily with you in the temple and taught, and you did not take me.
56 ௫௬ ஆனாலும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் எழுதியிருக்கிற வசனங்கள் நிறைவேறும்படி இவைகளெல்லாம் நடைபெறுகிறது என்றார். அப்பொழுது, சீடர்களெல்லோரும் அவரைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்.
All this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples left him and fled.
57 ௫௭ இயேசுவைப் பிடித்தவர்கள் அவரைப் பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய காய்பாவினிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அங்கே வேதபண்டிதர்களும் மூப்பர்களும் கூடிவந்திருந்தார்கள்.
And those who took Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the chief priest, where the scribes and elders had come together.
58 ௫௮ பேதுரு, தூரத்திலே அவருக்குப் பின்னேசென்று, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய அரண்மனை வரைக்கும் வந்து, உள்ளே நுழைந்து, முடிவைப் பார்க்கும்படி காவலாளிகளோடு உட்கார்ந்தான்.
But Peter followed him, at a distance, to the palace of the chief priest, and went in and sat with the attendants, to see the end.
59 ௫௯ பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் மூப்பர்களும் சங்கத்தினர்கள் அனைவரும் இயேசுவைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி அவருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பொய்ச்சாட்சி தேடினார்கள்;
And the chief priests and the elders, and the whole Sanhedrin, sought false testimony against Jesus, that they might put him to death,
60 ௬0 ஒருவரும் கிடைக்கவில்லை; அநேகர் வந்து பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லியும் அவர்கள் சாட்சி ஏற்புடையதாயில்லை; கடைசியிலே இரண்டு பொய்ச்சாட்சிகள் வந்து:
and found none. Though many false witnesses came, yet they found none. At last two false witnesses came,
61 ௬௧ தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தை இடித்துப்போடவும், மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள்ளே அதைக் கட்டவும் என்னாலே ஆகும் என்று இவன் சொன்னான் என்றார்கள்.
and said: This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62 ௬௨ அப்பொழுது, பிரதான ஆசாரியன் எழுந்திருந்து, அவரைப் பார்த்து: இவர்கள் உனக்கு விரோதமாக சாட்சி சொல்லுகிறதைக்குறித்து நீ ஒன்றும் சொல்லுகிறதில்லையா என்றான்.
And the chief priest arose, and said to him: Do you make no answer? What do these testify against you?
63 ௬௩ இயேசுவோ பேசாமலிருந்தார். அப்பொழுது, பிரதான ஆசாரியன் அவரைப் பார்த்து: நீ தேவனுடைய குமாரனாகிய கிறிஸ்துதானா? அதை எங்களுக்குச் சொல்லும்படி ஜீவனுள்ள தேவன்பேரில் உன்னை ஆணையிட்டுக் கேட்கிறேன் என்றான்.
But Jesus remained silent. And the chief priest answered and said to him: I adjure you, by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God?
64 ௬௪ அதற்கு இயேசு: நீர் சொன்னபடிதான்; அன்றியும், மனிதகுமாரன் சர்வவல்லவருடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் வீற்றிருப்பதையும் வானத்தின் மேகங்கள்மேல் வருவதையும் இதுமுதல் காண்பீர்களென்று, உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
Jesus said to him: You have said. Moreover, I say to you, Hereafter you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the Almighty, and coming upon the clouds of heaven.
65 ௬௫ அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியன் தன் ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு: இவன் தேவனை நிந்தித்தான்; இனி சாட்சிகள் நமக்கு வேண்டியதென்ன? இதோ, இவன் நிந்தித்ததை இப்பொழுது கேட்டீர்களே.
Then the chief priest rent his clothes, and said: He has spoken impiously; what further need have we of witnesses? See now, you have heard his impious words:
66 ௬௬ உங்களுக்கு எப்படித் தோன்றுகிறது என்று கேட்டான். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: மரணத்திற்குப் பாத்திரனாக இருக்கிறான் என்றார்கள்.
What think you? They answered and said: He is a subject for death.
Then did they spit in his face, and strike him with their fists; some struck him with the open hand,
and said: Give a response to us, Christ: Who is he that struck you?
69 ௬௯ அந்தநேரத்தில் பேதுரு வெளியே வந்து அரண்மனை முற்றத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான். அப்பொழுது, வேலைக்காரி ஒருத்தி அவனிடத்தில் வந்து: நீயும் கலிலேயனாகிய இயேசுவோடுகூட இருந்தாய் என்றாள்.
But Peter was sitting without in the court; and a maid-servant came to him, and said: You also were with Jesus of Galilee.
But he denied before them all, saying: I know not what you say.
71 ௭௧ அவன், வாசல் மண்டபத்திற்குப்போனபொழுது வேறொருத்தி அவனைக் கண்டு: இவனும் நசரேயனாகிய இயேசுவோடுகூட இருந்தான் என்று அங்கே இருந்தவர்களுக்குச் சொன்னாள்.
And when he went out into the entrance, another maid-servant saw him, and said to those who were there: This man was also with Jesus the Nazarene.
And again he denied, with an oath: I know not the man.
73 ௭௩ சிறிதுநேரத்திற்குப்பின்பு அங்கே நின்றவர்கள் பேதுருவினிடத்தில் வந்து: உண்மையாகவே நீயும் அவர்களில் ஒருவன்; உன் பேச்சு உன்னை காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.
After a little while, those who stood by came and said to Peter: Of a truth you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.
74 ௭௪ அப்பொழுது அவன்: அந்த மனிதனைத் தெரியாது என்று சொல்லி, சபிக்கவும் சத்தியம் செய்யவும் தொடங்கினான். உடனே சேவல் கூவியது.
Then he began to curse and to swear, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75 ௭௫ அப்பொழுது பேதுரு: சேவல் கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்னே நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று இயேசு தன்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை நினைத்துக்கொண்டு, வெளியேபோய், மனங்கசந்து அழுதான்.
And Peter remembered the word which. Jesus had spoken to him: Before the cock crows, you will deny me three times. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
