மத்தேயு 18
1 ௧ அந்த நேரத்திலே சீடர்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து: பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் எவன் பெரியவனாக இருப்பான் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
Just then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who ranks higher than others in the Kingdom of the Heavens?"
So He called a young child to Him, and, bidding him stand in the midst of them,
3 ௩ நீங்கள் மனந்திரும்பிப் பிள்ளைகளைப்போல மாறாவிட்டால், பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிக்கமாட்டீர்கள் என்று, உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
said, "In solemn truth I tell you that unless you turn and become like little children, you will in no case be admitted into the Kingdom of the Heavens.
4 ௪ ஆகவே, இந்தப் பிள்ளையைப்போலத் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்துகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனே பரலோகராஜ்யத்தில் பெரியவனாக இருப்பான்.
Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this young child, he it is who is superior to others in the Kingdom of the Heavens.
And whoever for my sake receives one young child such as this, receives me.
6 ௬ என்னிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாக இருக்கிற இந்தச் சிறியவர்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு இடறல் உண்டாக்குகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனுடைய கழுத்தில் மாவரைக்கும் கல்லைக் கட்டி, கடலின் ஆழத்திலே அவனை அமிழ்த்துகிறது அவனுக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும்.
But whoever shall occasion the fall of one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung round his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
7 ௭ இடறல்களினிமித்தம் உலகத்திற்கு ஐயோ, இடறல்கள் வருவது அவசியம், ஆனாலும் எந்த மனிதனால் இடறல் வருகிறதோ, அவனுக்கு ஐயோ!
"Alas for the world because of causes of falling! They cannot but come, but alas for each man through whom they come!
8 ௮ உன் கையாவது உன் காலாவது உனக்கு இடறல் உண்டாக்கினால், அதை வெட்டி எறிந்துபோடு; நீ இரண்டு கையுடையவனாக, அல்லது இரண்டு காலுடையவனாக நித்திய அக்கினியிலே தள்ளப்படுவதைவிட, முடவனாக, அல்லது ஊனனாக, நித்தியஜீவனுக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பது உனக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும். (aiōnios g166)
If your hand or your foot is causing you to fall into sin, cut it off and away with it. It is better for you to enter into Life crippled in hand or foot than to remain in possession of two sound hands or feet but be thrown into the fire of the Ages. (aiōnios g166)
9 ௯ உன் கண் உனக்கு இடறல் உண்டாக்கினால், அதைப் பிடுங்கி எறிந்துபோடு; இரண்டு கண்ணுடையவனாக எரிநரகத்தில் தள்ளப்படுவதைவிட, ஒற்றைக் கண்ணனாக நித்தியஜீவனுக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பது உனக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும். (Geenna g1067)
And if your eye is causing you to fall into sin, tear it out and away with it; it is better for you to enter into Life with only one eye, than to remain in possession of two eyes but be thrown into the Gehenna of fire. (Geenna g1067)
10 ௧0 இந்தச் சிறியவர்களில் ஒருவனையும் அற்பமாக எண்ணாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாக இருங்கள்; அவர்களுக்குரிய தேவதூதர்கள் பரலோகத்திலே என் பரமபிதாவின் சமுகத்தை எப்போதும் தரிசிக்கிறார்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
"Beware of ever despising one of these little ones, for I tell you that in Heaven their angels have continual access to my Father who is in Heaven.
12 ௧௨ உங்களுக்கு எப்படித் தோன்றுகிறது? ஒரு மனிதனுக்கு நூறு ஆடுகளிருக்க, அவைகளில் ஒன்று காணாமற்போனால், அவன் மற்றத் தொண்ணூற்றொன்பது ஆடுகளையும் மலைகளில் விட்டுப்போய் காணாமற்போனதைத் தேடாமலிருப்பானோ?
What do you yourselves think? Suppose a man gets a hundred sheep and one of them strays away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go and look for the one that is straying?
13 ௧௩ அவன் அதைக் கண்டுபிடித்தால், காணாமல்போகாத தொண்ணூற்றொன்பது ஆடுகளைக்குறித்து மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறதைவிட, அந்த ஒன்றைக்குறித்து அதிக மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருப்பான் என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
And if he succeeds in finding it, in solemn truth I tell you that he rejoices over it more than he does over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray.
14 ௧௪ இவ்விதமாக, இந்தச் சிறியவரில் ஒருவன்கூட, அழிந்துபோவது பரலோகத்திலிருக்கிற உங்களுடைய பிதாவின் விருப்பமல்ல.
Just so it is not the will of your Father in Heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.
15 ௧௫ உன் சகோதரன் உனக்கு விரோதமாகக் குற்றம் செய்தால், அவனிடத்தில் போய், நீயும் அவனும் தனிமையாக இருக்கும்போது, அவன் குற்றத்தை அவனுக்கு உணர்த்து; அவன் உனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தால், உன் சகோதரனை ஆதாயப்படுத்திக்கொண்டாய்.
"If your brother acts wrongly towards you, go and point out his fault to him when only you and he are there. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
16 ௧௬ அவன் செவிகொடுக்காமற்போனால், இரண்டு மூன்று சாட்சிகளுடைய ஒப்புதல்களினாலே காரியங்களெல்லாம் உறுதிப்படும்படி இரண்டொருவரை உன்னுடனே அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போ.
But if he will not listen to you, go again, and ask one or two to go with you, that every word spoken may be attested by two or three witnesses.
17 ௧௭ அவர்களுக்கும் அவன் செவிகொடுக்காமற்போனால், அதை சபைக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்து; சபைக்கும் செவிகொடுக்காமற்போனால், அவன் உனக்கு வேறுமார்க்கத்தான்போலவும் வரி வசூலிப்பவனைப்போலவும் இருப்பானாக.
If he refuses to hear them, appeal to the Church; and if he refuses to hear even the Church, regard him just as you regard a Gentile or a tax-gatherer.
18 ௧௮ உலகத்திலே நீங்கள் எவைகளைக் கட்டுவீர்களோ அவைகள் பரலோகத்திலும் கட்டப்பட்டிருக்கும்; உலகத்திலே நீங்கள் எவைகளைக் கட்டவிழ்ப்பீர்களோ அவைகள் பரலோகத்திலும் கட்டவிழ்க்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
I solemnly tell you that whatever you as a Church bind on earth will in Heaven be held as bound, and whatever you loose on earth will in Heaven be held to be loosed.
19 ௧௯ அல்லாமலும், உங்களில் இரண்டுபேர் தாங்கள் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளப்போகிற எந்தக் காரியத்தைக்குறித்தாவது பூமியிலே ஒருமனப்பட்டிருந்தால், பரலோகத்தில் இருக்கிற என் பிதாவினால் அது அவர்களுக்கு உண்டாகும் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
I also solemnly tell you that if two of you here on earth agree together concerning anything whatever that they shall ask, the boon will come to them from my Father who is in Heaven.
20 ௨0 ஏனென்றால், இரண்டுபேராவது மூன்றுபேராவது என் நாமத்தினாலே எங்கே கூடியிருக்கிறார்களோ, அங்கே அவர்கள் நடுவிலே இருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.
For where there are two or three assembled in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
21 ௨௧ அப்பொழுது, பேதுரு அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: ஆண்டவரே, என் சகோதரன் எனக்கு விரோதமாகக் குற்றம் செய்துவந்தால், நான் எத்தனைமுறை மன்னிக்கவேண்டும்? ஏழுமுறை மட்டுமோ என்று கேட்டான்.
At this point Peter came to Him with the question, "Master, how often shall my brother act wrongly towards me and I forgive him? seven times?"
"I do not say seven times," answered Jesus, "but seventy times seven times.
23 ௨௩ எப்படியென்றால், பரலோகராஜ்யம் தன் வேலைக்காரர்களிடத்தில் கணக்குப்பார்க்கவேண்டுமென்றிருந்த ஒரு ராஜாவிற்கு ஒப்பாக இருக்கிறது.
"For this reason the Kingdom of the Heavens may be compared to a king who determined to have a settlement of accounts with his servants.
24 ௨௪ அவன் கணக்குப்பார்க்கத் தொடங்கினபோது, பத்தாயிரம் வெள்ளிப்பணம் கடன்பட்டவன் ஒருவனை அவனுக்கு முன்பாகக் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
But as soon as he began the settlement, one was brought before him who owed 10,000 talents,
25 ௨௫ கடனைத்தீர்க்க அவனால் முடியாதபடியால், அவனுடைய எஜமான் அவனையும் அவனுடைய மனைவியையும் பிள்ளைகளையும், அவனுக்கு இருந்த எல்லாவற்றையும் விற்று, கடனைத்தீர்க்கும்படிக் கட்டளையிட்டான்.
and was unable to pay. So his master ordered that he and his wife and children and everything that he had should be sold, and payment be made.
26 ௨௬ அப்பொழுது, அந்த வேலைக்காரன் காலில் விழுந்து வணங்கி: எஜமானனே! என்னிடத்தில் பொறுமையாக இரும், எல்லாவற்றையும் உமக்குக் கொடுத்துத்தீர்க்கிறேன் என்றான்.
The servant therefore falling down, prostrated himself at his feet and entreated him. "'Only give me time,' he said, 'and I will pay you the whole.'
27 ௨௭ அந்த வேலைக்காரனுடைய எஜமான் மனமிரங்கி, அவனை விடுதலைசெய்து, கடனையும் அவனுக்கு மன்னித்துவிட்டான்.
"Whereupon his master, touched with compassion, set him free and forgave him the debt.
28 ௨௮ அப்படியிருக்க, அந்த வேலைக்காரன் புறப்பட்டுப்போகும்போது, தன்னிடத்தில் நூறு வெள்ளிக்காசுகள் கடன்பட்டிருந்தவனாகிய தன்னுடைய உடன்வேலைக்காரர்களில் ஒருவனைப் பார்த்து, அவனைப் பிடித்து, கழுத்தை நெரித்து: நீ வாங்கின கடனை எனக்குக் கொடுத்துத் தீர்க்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
But no sooner had that servant gone out, than he met with one of his fellow servants who owed him 100 shillings; and seizing him by the throat and nearly strangling him he exclaimed, "'Pay me all you owe.'
29 ௨௯ அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய உடன்வேலைக்காரன் அவன் காலிலே விழுந்து: என்னிடத்தில் பொறுமையாக இரும், எல்லாவற்றையும் உமக்குக் கொடுத்துத் தீர்க்கிறேன் என்று, அவனை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.
"His fellow servant therefore fell at his feet and entreated him, "'Only give me time,' he said, 'and I will pay you.'
30 ௩0 அவனோ சம்மதிக்காமல், போய், அவன் வாங்கின கடனைக் கொடுத்துத்தீர்க்கும்வரைக்கும் அவனைச் சிறைச்சாலையில் வைத்தான்.
"He would not, however, but went and threw him into prison until he should pay what was due.
31 ௩௧ நடந்ததை அவனுடைய உடன்வேலைக்காரர்கள் பார்த்து, மிகவும் துக்கப்பட்டு, எஜமானிடத்தில் வந்து, நடந்ததையெல்லாம் அறிவித்தார்கள்.
His fellow servants, therefore, seeing what had happened, were exceedingly angry; and they came and told their master without reserve all that had happened.
32 ௩௨ அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய எஜமான் அவனை அழைப்பித்து: பொல்லாத வேலைக்காரனே, நீ என்னை வேண்டிக்கொண்டபடியினால் அந்தக் கடன் முழுவதையும் உனக்கு மன்னித்துவிட்டேன்.
At once his master called him and said, "'Wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you entreated me:
ought not you also to have had pity on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?'
34 ௩௪ அவனுடைய எஜமான் கோபமடைந்து, அவன் வாங்கின கடனையெல்லாம் தனக்குக் கொடுத்துத்தீர்க்கும்வரைக்கும் தண்டிக்கிறவர்களிடத்தில் அவனை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்.
"So his master, greatly incensed, handed him over to the jailers until he should pay all he owed him.
35 ௩௫ நீங்களும் அவனவன் தன்தன் சகோதரன் செய்த தப்பிதங்களை மனப்பூர்வமாக மன்னிக்காமற்போனால், என் பரமபிதாவும் உங்களுக்கு இப்படியே செய்வார் என்றார்.
"In the same way my Heavenly Father will deal with you, if you do not all of you forgive one another from your hearts."
