மத்தேயு 15
Then the scribes and Pharisees, who are from Jerusalem, come to Jesus, saying,
2 ௨ உம்முடைய சீடர்கள் முன்னோர்களின் பாரம்பரியத்தை ஏன் மீறி நடக்கிறார்கள்? கைகழுவாமல் சாப்பிடுகிறார்களே! என்றார்கள்.
Wherefore do thy disciples transgress the traditions of the elders? for they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.
3 ௩ அவர்களுக்கு அவர் மறுமொழியாக: நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய பாரம்பரியத்தினாலே தேவனுடைய கட்டளையை ஏன் மீறி நடக்கிறீர்கள்?
And responding He said to them; Wherefore do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?
4 ௪ உன் தகப்பனையும் உன் தாயையும் மதித்து நடப்பாயாக என்றும்; தகப்பனையாவது தாயையாவது நிந்திக்கிறவன் கொல்லப்படவேண்டும் என்றும், தேவன் கட்டளை கொடுத்திருக்கிறாரே.
For God commanded saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die with death.
5 ௫ நீங்களோ, எவனாவது தகப்பனையாவது தாயையாவது பார்த்து உனக்கு நான் செய்யவேண்டிய உதவி எதுவோ, அதை தேவனுக்குக் காணிக்கையாகக் கொடுக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லி, தன் தகப்பனையாவது தன் தாயையாவது மதிக்காமற்போனாலும், அவனுடைய கடமை முடிந்ததென்று போதித்து,
But you say, Whosoever may say to father or mother, It is a gift, whatsoever you may be profited by me; and he shall no longer honor his father or his mother.
You made void the commandment of God by your tradition.
Ye hypocrites, beautifully did Isaiah prophesy concerning you, saying,
8 ௮ இந்த மக்கள் தங்களுடைய உதட்டளவில் என்னிடத்தில் சேர்ந்து, தங்களுடைய உதடுகளினால் என்னை மதிக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் இருதயமோ என்னைவிட்டு தூரமாக விலகியிருக்கிறது;
This people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
9 ௯ மனிதர்களுடைய கட்டளைகளை உபதேசங்களாகப் போதித்து, வீணாக எனக்கு ஆராதனை செய்கிறார்கள் என்று ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி நன்றாகச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறான் என்றார்.”
But in vain they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
And calling the multitude to Him, He said to them, Hear and understand:
11 ௧௧ வாய்க்குள்ளே போகிறது மனிதனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாது, வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறதே மனிதனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்என்றார்.
That if which cometh into the mouth does not defile the man; but that which cometh out from the mouth, that defiles the man.
12 ௧௨ அப்பொழுது, அவருடைய சீடர்கள் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: பரிசேயர்கள் இந்த வசனத்தைக்கேட்டு இடறலடைந்தார்கள் என்று அறிவீரா என்றார்கள்.
Then His disciples having come to Him say, Do you not know that the Pharisees hearing your word, were offended?
And He responding said, Every plant which my heavenly Father did not plant, shall be rooted up.
14 ௧௪ அவர்களை விட்டுவிடுங்கள், அவர்கள் குருடர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டுகிற குருடர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள்; குருடனுக்குக் குருடன் வழிகாட்டினால் இருவரும் குழியிலே விழுவார்களே என்றார்.
Let them alone: the blind are leaders of the blind: if the blind may lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch.
Peter responding said to Him, Explain unto us the parable.
And Jesus said, Are you indeed still without understanding?
17 ௧௭ வாய்க்குள்ளே போகிறதெல்லாம் வயிற்றுக்குள் சென்று ஆசனவழியாகக் கழிந்துபோகும் என்பதை நீங்கள் இன்னும் அறியவில்லையா?
Do you know that everything entering into the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out into excrement?
18 ௧௮ வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறவைகள் இருதயத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுவரும்; அவைகளே மனிதனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்.
But those things going out from the mouth come forth from the heart; and these pollute the man.
19 ௧௯ எப்படியென்றால், இருதயத்திலிருந்து பொல்லாத சிந்தனைகளும், கொலைபாதகங்களும், விபசாரங்களும், வேசித்தனங்களும், களவுகளும், பொய்ச்சாட்சிகளும், அவதூறுகளும் புறப்பட்டுவரும்.
For out of the heart proceed evil reasonings, murders, fornications, adulteries, thefts, false testimonies, blasphemies.
20 ௨0 இவைகளே மனிதனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்; கைகளைக் கழுவாமல் சாப்பிடுகிறது மனிதனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாது என்றார்.
These are the things which defile the man: but to eat bread with unwashed hands does not defile the man.
And Jesus having come out thence, departed into the regions of Tyre and Sidon.
22 ௨௨ அப்பொழுது, அந்தத் திசைகளில் குடியிருக்கிற கானானியப் பெண் ஒருத்தி அவரிடத்தில் வந்து: ஆண்டவரே, தாவீதின் குமாரனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும், என் மகள் பிசாசினால் கொடிய வேதனைப்படுகிறாள் என்று சொல்லிக் கூப்பிட்டாள்.
And behold, a Canaanitish woman having come out from those coasts, cried unto Him saying, Have mercy on me, Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is terribly demonized.
23 ௨௩ அவளுக்கு மறுமொழியாக அவர் ஒரு வார்த்தையும் சொல்லவில்லை. அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சீடர்கள் வந்து: இவள் நம்மைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து கூப்பிடுகிறாளே, இவளை அனுப்பிவிடும் என்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
And He responded to her not a word; and His disciples, having come to Him, asked Him, saying, Send her away; because she cries after us.
24 ௨௪ அதற்கு அவர்: காணாமற்போன ஆடுகளாகிய இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டேனேதவிர, மற்றவர்களுக்கல்ல என்றார்.
And He responding said, I am not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And having come she continued to worship Him, saying, Lord, assist me.
26 ௨௬ அவர் அவளைப் பார்த்து: பிள்ளைகளின் அப்பத்தை எடுத்து, நாய்க்குட்டிகளுக்குப் போடுகிறது நல்லதல்ல என்றார்.
He responding said, It is not good to take the children's bread and cast it to the little dogs.
27 ௨௭ அதற்கு அவள்: உண்மைதான் ஆண்டவரே, ஆனாலும் நாய்க்குட்டிகள் தங்களுடைய எஜமான்களின் மேஜையிலிருந்து விழும் அப்பத்துணிக்கைகளைச் சாப்பிடுமே என்றாள்.
And she said, Yea, Lord: for the little dogs eat of the crumbs falling from their master's table.
28 ௨௮ இயேசு அவளுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: பெண்ணே, உன் விசுவாசம் பெரியது; நீ விரும்புகிறபடி உனக்கு ஆகக்கடவது என்றார். அந்த நேரமே அவளுடைய மகள் ஆரோக்கியமானாள்.
Then Jesus responding said to her, O woman, great is thy faith; let it be done unto thee as thou dost wish. And her daughter was healed from that hour.
29 ௨௯ இயேசு அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, கலிலேயாக் கடலருகே வந்து, ஒரு மலையின்மேல் ஏறி, அங்கே உட்கார்ந்தார்.
And Jesus having departed thence, came to the Sea of Galilee; and having gone up into the mountain, He was sitting there.
30 ௩0 அப்பொழுது, முடவர்கள், குருடர்கள், ஊமையர்கள், ஊனர்கள் முதலிய அநேகரை திரளான மக்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் அழைத்துவந்து, அவர்களை அவர் பாதத்திலே வைத்தார்கள்; அவர்களை அவர் குணப்படுத்தினார்.
And many multitudes came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deaf, the maimed, and many others, and laid them down at the feet of Jesus; and He healed them:
31 ௩௧ ஊமையர் பேசுகிறதையும், ஊனர்கள் குணமடைகிறதையும், கைகால்கள் முடங்கியவர்கள் நடக்கிறதையும், குருடர்கள் பார்க்கிறதையும் மக்கள் கண்டு, ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தினார்கள்.
so that the multitudes were astonished, seeing the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking about, and the blind seeing: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 ௩௨ பின்பு, இயேசு தம்முடைய சீடர்களை அழைத்து: மக்களுக்காக மனதுருகுகிறேன், இவர்கள் என்னிடத்தில் மூன்று நாட்கள் தங்கியிருந்து சாப்பிட ஒன்றுமில்லாதிருக்கிறார்கள்; இவர்களைப் பட்டினியாக அனுப்பிவிட எனக்கு மனதில்லை, வழியிலே சோர்ந்துபோவார்களே என்றார்.
And Jesus calling His disciples to Him, said, I sympathize with the multitude, because already three days abide unto me, and they have nothing which they may eat; I do not wish to send them away fasting, lest they may faint on the road.
33 ௩௩ அதற்கு அவருடைய சீடர்கள்: இவ்வளவு திரளான மக்களுக்குத் திருப்தியுண்டாகும்படி தேவையான அப்பங்கள் இந்த வனாந்திரத்திலே நமக்கு எப்படி கிடைக்கும் என்றார்கள்.
And His disciples say to Him, Whence is there to us so much bread in the wilderness, as to feed so great a multitude?
34 ௩௪ அதற்கு இயேசு: உங்களிடம் எத்தனை அப்பங்கள் உண்டு என்று கேட்டார். அவர்கள்: ஏழு அப்பங்களும் சில சிறு மீன்களும் உண்டு என்றார்கள்.
And Jesus says to them; How much bread have ye? And they said, Seven loaves and a few fishes.
He having commanded the multitudes to sit down upon the ground,
36 ௩௬ அந்த ஏழு அப்பங்களையும் அந்த மீன்களையும் எடுத்து, நன்றிசெலுத்தி, பிட்டுத் தம்முடைய சீடர்களிடத்தில் கொடுத்தார்; சீடர்கள் மக்களுக்குப் பரிமாறினார்கள்.
He took the seven loaves and the fishes; having given thanks, He broke them, and gave to His disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
37 ௩௭ எல்லோரும் சாப்பிட்டுத் திருப்தியடைந்தார்கள்; மீதியான அப்பத்துணிக்கைகளை ஏழு கூடைகள்நிறைய எடுத்தார்கள்.
And they all ate, and were filled: and they took up the residue of fragments, seven baskets full.
And those eating were about tour thousand men, besides women and children.
And having sent away the multitudes, He went into a ship and came into the coasts of Magdala.
