நியாயாதிபதிகள் 20
1 ௧ அப்பொழுது தாண்முதல் பெயெர்செபா வரையுள்ள இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் அனைவரும் கீலேயாத் தேசத்தார்களோடு மிஸ்பாவிலே யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக ஒருமித்து சபையாகக் கூடினார்கள்.
Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to the LORD at Mizpah.
2 ௨ எல்லா மக்களின் அதிபதிகளும், இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லா கோத்திரத்தார்களும் தேவனுடைய மக்கள் சபையாகக் கூடி நின்றார்கள்; அவர்கள் பட்டயத்தினால் சண்டையிட ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கிற 4,00,000 வீரர்கள்.
The leaders of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen who drew sword.
3 ௩ இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் மிஸ்பாவுக்கு வந்த செய்தியைப் பென்யமீன் மக்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டார்கள்; அந்த அக்கிரமம் நடந்தது எப்படி, சொல்லுங்கள் என்று இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் கேட்டார்கள்.
(Now the people of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpah.) The children of Israel said, "Tell us, how did this wickedness happen?"
4 ௪ அப்பொழுது கொலை செய்யப்பட்ட பெண்ணின் கணவனாகிய லேவியன் பதிலாக: நானும் என்னுடைய மறுமனையாட்டியும் பென்யமீன் நாட்டிலுள்ள கிபியாவிலே இரவுதங்க வந்தோம்.
The Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said, "I came into Gibeah that belongs to Benjamin, I and my secondary wife, to spend the night.
5 ௫ அப்பொழுது கிபியாபட்டணத்தார்கள் எனக்கு எதிராக எழும்பி, என்னைக் கொலை செய்ய நினைத்து, நான் இருந்த வீட்டை இரவிலே சுற்றிவளைத்து, என்னுடைய மறுமனையாட்டியைக் கெடுத்தார்கள்; அதினாலே அவள் இறந்துபோனாள்.
And the leaders of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house at night. They intended to kill me, and they raped my secondary wife, and she is dead.
6 ௬ ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலிலே அவர்கள் இப்படிப்பட்ட முறைகேட்டையும் மதிகேட்டையும் செய்ததினால், நான் என்னுடைய மறுமனையாட்டியைப் பிடித்துத் துண்டித்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் சுதந்தரமான எல்லா நாடுகளுக்கும் அனுப்பினேன்.
I took my secondary wife, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the territory of the inheritance of Israel; for they have committed wickedness and disgrace in Israel.
Look, you children of Israel, all of you, give your advice and counsel here."
8 ௮ அப்பொழுது எல்லா மக்களும் ஒருமித்து எழும்பி: நம்மில் ஒருவரும் தன்னுடைய கூடாரத்திற்குப் போகவும்கூடாது, ஒருவனும் தன்னுடைய வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பவும்கூடாது.
All the people arose as one man, saying, "None of us will go to his tent, neither will any of us return to his house.
But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by lot;
10 ௧0 பென்யமீன் கோத்திரமான கிபியா பட்டணத்தார்கள் இஸ்ரவேலிலே செய்த எல்லா மதிகேட்டுக்கும் தகுந்ததாக மக்கள் வந்து செய்யும்படி, நாம் தானியங்களைச் சம்பாதிக்கிறதற்கு, இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களிலெல்லாம் நூறு பேர்களில் பத்துப்பேரையும், ஆயிரம் பேர்களில் நூறுபேரையும், பத்தாயிரம் பேர்களில் ஆயிரம்பேரையும் தெரிந்தெடுப்போம் என்றார்கள்.
and we will take ten men of one hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and one hundred of one thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to get food for the people, those setting forth, that when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin they may repay all the disgrace that they have committed in Israel."
So all the men of Israel gathered against the city, united as one man.
12 ௧௨ அங்கே இருந்த இஸ்ரவேலின் கோத்திரத்தார்கள் பென்யமீன் கோத்திரமெங்கும் ஆட்களை அனுப்பி: உங்களுக்குள்ளே நடந்த இந்த அக்கிரமம் என்ன?
The tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What wickedness is this that has happened among you?
13 ௧௩ இப்பொழுது கிபியாவில் இருக்கிற துன்மார்க்க மக்களாகிய அந்த மனிதர்களை நாங்கள் கொன்று, தீமையை இஸ்ரவேலைவிட்டு விலக்கும்படி, அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுங்கள் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னார்கள்; பென்யமீனியர்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களாகிய தங்கள் சகோதரர்களின் சொல்லைக் கேட்க மனமில்லாமல்,
Now therefore deliver up the men, the wicked men who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel." But the sons of Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brothers, the children of Israel.
14 ௧௪ இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களோடு யுத்தம்செய்யப் புறப்படும்படி, பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து கிபியாவுக்கு வந்து கூடினார்கள்.
The people of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
15 ௧௫ கிபியாவின் குடிகளிலே தெரிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்ட 700 பேரைத் தவிர அந்த நாளில் பட்டணங்களிலிருந்து வந்து கூடின பட்டயத்தால் சண்டையிடுவதற்கு பயிற்சி பெற்ற மனிதர்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 26,000 பேர் என்று கணக்கிடப்பட்டது.
The people of Benjamin were numbered on that day out of the cities twenty-six thousand men who drew the sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
16 ௧௬ அந்த மக்கள் எல்லோரிலும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட, இடதுகைப் பழக்கமுள்ள 700 பேர் இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் அனைவரும் ஒரு மயிரிழையும் தப்பாதபடிக் கவண்கல் எறிவார்கள்.
Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men left-handed; everyone could sling stones at a hair and not miss.
17 ௧௭ பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தைத் தவிர இஸ்ரவேலிலே பட்டயத்தினால் சண்டையிடுவதற்குப் பயிற்சிபெற்ற மனிதர்கள் நான்கு லட்சம்பேர் என்று கணக்கிடப்பட்டது; இவர்கள் எல்லோரும் யுத்தவீரர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.
The men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men who drew sword: all these were men of war.
18 ௧௮ இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களான அவர்கள் எழுந்து, பெத்தேலுக்குப் போய்: எங்களில் யார் முதலில் போய் பென்யமீனியர்களோடு யுத்தம்செய்யவேண்டும் என்று தேவனிடத்தில் விசாரித்தார்கள்; அதற்குக் யெகோவா: யூதா முதலில் போகவேண்டும் என்றார்.
The children of Israel arose, and went up to Bethel, and asked counsel of God; and they said, "Who shall go up for us first to battle against the people of Benjamin?" The LORD said, "Judah will go up first."
The children of Israel rose up in the morning, and camped against Gibeah.
20 ௨0 பின்பு இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்கள் பென்யமீனியர்களோடு யுத்தம்செய்யப் புறப்பட்டு, கிபியாவிலே அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகப் போர்செய்ய அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்.
The men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel set the battle in array against them at Gibeah.
21 ௨௧ ஆனாலும் பென்யமீன் போர்வீரர்கள் கிபியாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, இஸ்ரவேலில் 22,000 பேரை அன்றையதினம் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.
The people of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites on that day twenty-two thousand men.
22 ௨௨ இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்கள் தங்களை பெலப்படுத்திக்கொண்டு, முதல் நாளில் அணிவகுத்து நின்ற இடத்திலே, மறுபடியும் போர் செய்ய அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்.
The people, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves, and set the battle again in array in the place where they set themselves in array the first day.
23 ௨௩ அவர்கள் போய், யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக மாலைவரை அழுது, எங்கள் சகோதரர்களாகிய பென்யமீன் மக்களோடு திரும்பவும் யுத்தம் செய்யப்போவோமா என்று கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசாரித்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது யெகோவா: அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகப் போங்கள் என்றார்.
The children of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until evening; and they asked of the LORD, saying, "Shall I again draw near to battle against the people of Benjamin my brother?" The LORD said, "Go up against him."
The children of Israel came near against the people of Benjamin the second day.
25 ௨௫ பென்யமீனியர்கள் அந்த நாளிலே கிபியாவிலிருந்து அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்பட்டுவந்து, பின்னும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரில் பட்டயத்தினால் சண்டையிடுவதற்குப் பயிற்சிபெற்றவர்கள் 18,000 பேரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.
Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
26 ௨௬ அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்களும் எல்லா மக்களும் புறப்பட்டு, பெத்தேலுக்குப் போய், அங்கே யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக அழுது, உட்கார்ந்து, அன்று மாலைவரை உபவாசித்து, யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதானபலிகளையும் செலுத்தி,
Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to Bethel, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until evening; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.
27 ௨௭ கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசாரித்தார்கள்; தேவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கையின் பெட்டி அந்த நாட்களில் அங்கே இருந்தது.
The children of Israel asked of the LORD (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
28 ௨௮ ஆரோனின் மகனான எலெயாசாரின் மகன் பினெகாஸ் அந்த நாட்களில் பெட்டியின் முன்பாகப் பணிசெய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்; எங்கள் சகோதரர்களாகிய பென்யமீன் மக்களோடு மறுபடியும் யுத்தம்செய்யப் புறப்படலாமா? வேண்டாமா? என்று அவர்கள் விசாரித்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது யெகோவா: போங்கள்; நாளைக்கு அவர்களை உங்களுடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன் என்றார்.
and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), "Shall I yet again go out to battle against the people of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?" The LORD said, "Go up; for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand."
Israel set ambushes all around Gibeah.
30 ௩0 மூன்றாம் நாளிலே இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்கள், பென்யமீன் போர்வீரர்களுக்கு எதிராகப் போய், முன் இரண்டு முறை செய்ததுபோல, கிபியாவுக்கு அருகில் போருக்கு அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்.
The children of Israel went up against the people of Benjamin on the third day, and set themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
31 ௩௧ அப்பொழுது பென்யமீன் மக்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்பட்டுப் பட்டணத்தை விட்டு, கடந்து வந்து, வெளியிலே பெத்தேலுக்கும் கிபியாவுக்கும் போகிற இரண்டு வழிகளில் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களில் ஏறக்குறைய 30 பேரை, முதல் இரண்டுதரம் செய்ததுபோல, வெட்டவும் கொல்லவும் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
The people of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to strike and kill some of the people, as at other times, on the highways, of which one goes up to Bethel, and the other to Gibeah, in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
32 ௩௨ முன்போல நமக்கு முன்பாக முறியடிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள் என்று பென்யமீனியர்கள் சொன்னார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்களோ: அவர்களைப் பட்டணத்தை விட்டு வெளியிலே இருக்கிற வழிகளில் வரச்செய்யும்படி, நாம் ஓடவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லியிருந்தார்கள்.
The people of Benjamin said, "They are defeated before us, as previously." But the children of Israel said, "Let us flee, and draw them away from the city to the highways."
33 ௩௩ அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்கள் எல்லோரும் தங்கள் இடத்திலிருந்து எழுந்து, பாகால்தாமாரிலே யுத்தத்திற்கு அணிவகுத்து நின்றார்கள்; கிபியாவின் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே மறைந்திருந்தவர்கள் தங்கள் இடத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு,
All the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and set themselves in array at Baal Tamar. And the men of Israel in ambush rushed out of their place west of Geba.
34 ௩௪ அவர்களில் இஸ்ரவேல் எல்லோரிலும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட 10,000 பேர் கிபியாவுக்கு எதிராக வந்தார்கள்; யுத்தம் பலத்தது; ஆனாலும் தங்களுக்கு ஆபத்து நேரிட்டது என்று அவர்கள் அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.
There came over against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was severe; but they didn't know that disaster was close upon them.
35 ௩௫ யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாகப் பென்யமீனை முறியடித்தார்; அந்நாளிலே இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் பென்யமீனிலே பட்டயத்தினால் சண்டையிடுவதற்குப் பயிற்சிபெற்ற ஆட்களாகிய 25,100 பேரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.
The LORD struck Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed of Benjamin that day twenty-five thousand one hundred men: all armed with swords.
36 ௩௬ இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் கிபியாவுக்கு அப்பாலே வைத்த மறைவிடங்களில் இருந்தவர்களை நம்பியிருந்ததினால், பென்யமீனர்களுக்கு இடம் கொடுத்தார்கள்; அதினாலே அவர்கள் முறியடிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள் என்று பென்யமீனின் போர்வீரர்கள் கண்டார்கள்.
So the people of Benjamin saw that they were defeated; for the men of Israel gave ground to Benjamin, because they trusted the ambushers whom they had set against Gibeah.
37 ௩௭ அப்பொழுது மறைந்திருந்தவர்கள் துரிதமாக கிபியாவுக்குள் விரைந்து, பட்டணத்தில் இருக்கிறவர்கள் எல்லோரையும் கூர்மையான பட்டயத்தால் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.
The ambushers hurried, and rushed on Gibeah; and the ambushers drew themselves along, and struck all the city with the edge of the sword.
38 ௩௮ பட்டணத்திலிருந்து மகா பெரிய புகையை எழும்பச்செய்வதே இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கும் மறைந்திருக்கிறவர்களுக்கும் குறிக்கப்பட்ட அடையாளமாக இருந்தது.
Now the appointed sign between the men of Israel and the ambushers was that they should make a great cloud of smoke rise up out of the city.
39 ௩௯ ஆகவே, இஸ்ரவேலின் போர்வீரர்கள் யுத்தத்திலே பின்வாங்கினபோது, பென்யமீனர்கள்: முந்தின யுத்தத்தில் நடந்ததுபோல, அவர்கள் நமக்கு முன்பாக முறியடிக்கப்படுகிறார்களே என்று சொல்லி, இஸ்ரவேலரில் ஏறக்குறைய முப்பதுபேரை வெட்டவும் கொல்லவும் துவங்கினார்கள்.
The men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to strike and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons; for they said, "Surely they are defeated before us, as in the first battle."
40 ௪0 பட்டணத்திலிருந்து புகையானது தூண் போல உயர எழும்பியபோது, பென்யமீனர்கள் திரும்பிப் பார்த்தார்கள்; இதோ, பட்டணத்தின் அக்கினிஜூவாலை வானபரியந்தம் எழும்பினது.
But when the cloud began to arise up out of the city in a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them; and look, the whole city went up in smoke into the sky.
41 ௪௧ அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராகத் திரும்பிக்கொண்டார்கள்; பென்யமீன் மனிதர்களோ, தங்களுக்கு ஆபத்து நேர்ந்ததைக் கண்டு திகைத்து.
The men of Israel turned, and the men of Benjamin were terrified; for they saw that disaster had come on them.
42 ௪௨ இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்களைவிட்டு, வனாந்திரத்திற்குப் போகிற வழிக்கு நேராகத் திரும்பி ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; ஆனாலும் யுத்தம் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்தது; இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்கள் நகரங்களில் இருந்து வெளியே வந்து அவர்கள் நின்ற இடங்களிலேயே அவர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.
Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and those who came out of the cities destroyed them in its midst.
43 ௪௩ இப்படியே பென்யமீனர்களை சுற்றிவளைத்துக்கொண்டு துரத்தி, கிபியாவுக்குக் கிழக்குப்புறமாக வரும்வரை, அவர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.
They surrounded Benjamin, and they pursued them from Nohah and overtook them near Gibeah toward the east.
There fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valor.
45 ௪௫ மற்றவர்கள் விலகி, வனாந்திரத்தில் இருக்கிற ரிம்மோன் கன்மலைக்கு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அவர்களில் இன்னும் ஐயாயிரம்பேரை இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் வழிகளில் கொன்று, மற்றவர்களைக் கீதோம்வரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து, அவர்களில் இரண்டாயிரம்பேரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள்.
They turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they killed on the highways five thousand men, and followed hard after them to Gidom, and struck down two thousand men.
46 ௪௬ இவ்விதமாக பென்யமீனர்களில் அந்த நாளில் பட்டயத்தினால் சண்டையிடுவதற்குப் பயிற்சிபெற்றவர்கள் இருபத்தைந்தாயிரம்பேர் இறந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் யுத்தத்தில் பெலமுள்ளவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.
So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty-five thousand swordsmen; all these were valiant fighters.
47 ௪௭ அறுநூறுபேர் திரும்பி தப்பி ஓடி, வனாந்திரத்திலிருக்கிற ரிம்மோன் கன்மலைக்குப் போய், ரிம்மோன் கன்மலையிலே நான்கு மாதங்கள் இருந்தார்கள்.
But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and stayed in the rock of Rimmon four months.
48 ௪௮ இஸ்ரவேல் போர்வீரர்களோ, பென்யமீன் மக்களுக்கு எதிராக திரும்பி, பட்டணத்தில் மனிதர்கள் தொடங்கி மிருகங்கள்வரை பார்த்தவைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் கூர்மையான பட்டயத்தால் கொன்று, தாங்கள் பார்த்த பட்டணங்களையெல்லாம் அக்கினியால் கொளுத்திப்போட்டார்கள்.
The men of Israel turned again on the people of Benjamin, and struck them with the edge of the sword, both the entire city, and the livestock, and all that they found: moreover all the cities which they found they set on fire.
