நியாயாதிபதிகள் 2
1 ௧ யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் கில்காலிலிருந்து போகீமுக்கு வந்து: நான் உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்து, உங்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு வாக்குக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் நான் உங்களைக் கொண்டுவந்து விட்டு, உங்களோடு செய்த என்னுடைய உடன்படிக்கையை நான் ஒருபோதும் முறித்துப்போடுவதில்லை என்றும்,
Now the angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, I took you out of Egypt, guiding you into the land which I gave by an oath to your fathers; and I said, My agreement with you will never be broken by me:
2 ௨ நீங்கள் இந்த தேசத்தில் குடியிருக்கிறவர்களோடு உடன்படிக்கைசெய்யாமல், அவர்களுடைய பலிபீடங்களை இடித்துவிடவேண்டும் என்றும் சொன்னேன்; ஆனாலும் என்னுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல்போனீர்கள்; ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்தீர்கள்?
And you are to make no agreement with the people of this land; you are to see that their altars are broken down: but you have not given ear to my voice: what have you done?
3 ௩ ஆகவே, நான் அவர்களை உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்துவதில்லை என்றேன்; அவர்கள் உங்களை நெருக்குவார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய தெய்வங்கள் உங்களுக்குக் கண்ணியாவார்கள் என்றார்.
And so I have said, I will not send them out from before you; but they will be a danger to you, and their gods will be a cause of falling to you.
4 ௪ யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் இந்த வார்த்தைகளை இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் அனைவரிடமும் சொல்லும்போது, மக்கள் உரத்த சத்தமிட்டு அழுதார்கள்.
Now on hearing these words which the angel of the Lord said to all the children of Israel, the people gave themselves up to loud crying and weeping.
And they gave that place the name of Bochim, and made offerings there to the Lord.
6 ௬ யோசுவா இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை அனுப்பிவிட்டபோது, அவர்கள் தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ள அவரவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட பாகத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்.
And Joshua let the people go away, and the children of Israel went, every man to his heritage, to take the land for themselves.
7 ௭ யோசுவாவின் எல்லா நாட்களிலும் யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகச் செய்த அவருடைய பெரிய செயல்களையெல்லாம் பார்த்தவர்களும், யோசுவாவிற்குப் பின்பு உயிரோடு இருந்தவர்களுமாகிய மூப்பர்களின் எல்லா நாட்களிலும் மக்கள் யெகோவாவைத் தொழுது கொண்டார்கள்.
And the people were true to the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the responsible men who were still living after the death of Joshua, and had seen all the great work of the Lord which he had done for Israel.
And death came to Joshua, the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, he being a hundred and ten years old.
9 ௯ அவனை எப்பிராயீமின் மலைத்தேசத்திலுள்ள காயாஸ் மலைக்கு வடக்கில் இருக்கிற அவனுடைய சுதந்திரத்தின் எல்லையாகிய திம்னாத்ஏரேசிலே அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்.
And they put his body in the earth in the land of his heritage in Timnath-heres, in the hill-country of Ephraim to the north of Mount Gaash.
10 ௧0 அக்காலத்தில் இருந்த அந்தச் சந்ததியார்கள் எல்லோரும் தங்களுடைய பிதாக்களோடு சேர்க்கப்பட்டப்பின்பு, யெகோவாவையும், அவர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகச் செய்த செய்கைகளையும் அறியாத வேறொரு சந்ததி அவர்களுக்குப்பின்பு எழும்பியது.
And in time death overtook all that generation; and another generation came after them, having no knowledge of the Lord or of the things which he had done for Israel.
And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of the Lord and became servants to the Baals;
12 ௧௨ தங்களுடைய முற்பிதாக்களை எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படச் செய்த அவர்களுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவைவிட்டு, தங்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற மக்களுடைய தெய்வங்களாகிய அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றிப்போய், அவைகளைத் தொழுதுகொண்டு, யெகோவாவுக்குக் கோபமூட்டினார்கள்.
And they gave up the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had taken them out of the land of Egypt, and went after other gods, the gods of the peoples round about them, worshipping them and moving the Lord to wrath.
And they gave up the Lord, and became the servants of Baal and the Astartes.
14 ௧௪ அப்பொழுது யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் கோபம்கொண்டவராகி, அவர்கள் அதற்குப்பின்பு தங்கள் எதிரிகளுக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கமுடியாதபடி கொள்ளையிடுகிற கொள்ளைக்காரர்களுடைய கையில் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற அவர்களுடைய எதிரிகளின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.
And the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and he gave them up into the hands of those who violently took their property, and into the hands of their haters all round them, so that they were forced to give way before them.
15 ௧௫ யெகோவா அவர்களுக்கு வாக்கு செய்தபடி, அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுப்போகிற இடங்களெல்லாம் யெகோவாவுடைய கரம் தீமைக்கென்றே அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக இருந்தது; மிகவும் நெருக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
Wherever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had taken his oath it would be; and things became very hard for them.
16 ௧௬ யெகோவா நியாயாதிபதிகளை எழும்பச்செய்தார்; அவர்கள் கொள்ளையிடுகிறவர்களின் கைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி காப்பாற்றினார்கள்.
Then the Lord gave them judges, as their saviours from the hands of those who were cruel to them.
17 ௧௭ அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய நியாயாதிபதிகளின் சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல், அந்நிய தெய்வங்களுக்குத் தங்களை விலைமாதர்களைப்போல ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து, அவைகளைத் தொழுதுகொண்டார்கள்; தங்களுடைய பிதாக்கள் யெகோவாவின் கட்டளைகளுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து நடந்த வழியை அவர்கள் சீக்கிரமாக விட்டு விலகி, பிதாக்கள் செய்தபடி செய்யாமற்போனார்கள்.
But still they would not give ear to their judges, but went after other gods and gave them worship; quickly turning from the way in which their fathers had gone, keeping the orders of the Lord; but they did not do so.
18 ௧௮ யெகோவா அவர்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதிகளை எழும்பச்செய்கிறபோது, யெகோவா நியாயாதிபதியோடு இருந்து அந்த நியாயாதிபதி வாழ்ந்த நாட்களிலெல்லாம் அவர்களுடைய எதிரிகளின் கைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி காப்பாற்றிவருவார்; அவர்கள் தங்களை இறுகப்பிடித்து ஒடுக்குகிறவர்களினால் தவிக்கிறதினாலே, யெகோவா துக்கப்படுவார்.
And whenever the Lord gave them judges, then the Lord was with the judge, and was their saviour from the hands of their haters all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved by their cries of grief because of those who were cruel to them.
19 ௧௯ நியாயாதிபதி மரித்தவுடனே, அவர்கள் திரும்பி, அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, பணிவிடை செய்யவும், தொழுதுகொள்ளவும், தங்களுடைய பிதாக்களைவிட இழிவாக நடந்து, தங்களுடைய தீய செய்கைகளையும் தங்களுடைய முரட்டாட்டமான வழிகளையும் விடாதிருப்பார்கள்.
But whenever the judge was dead, they went back and did more evil than their fathers, going after other gods, to be their servants and their worshippers; giving up nothing of their sins and their hard-hearted ways.
20 ௨0 ஆகையால் யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் கோபம்கொண்டவராகி: இந்த மக்கள் தங்களுடைய பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் கற்பித்த என்னுடைய உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி என்னுடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்காமல் போனதினால்,
And the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and he said, Because this nation has not been true to my agreement which I made with their fathers, and has not given ear to my voice;
21 ௨௧ யோசுவா இறந்தபின்பு விட்டுப்போன தேசங்களில் ஒருவரையும், நான் இனி அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் துரத்திவிடாதிருப்பேன்.
From now on I will not go on driving out from before them any of the nations which at the death of Joshua were still living in this land;
22 ௨௨ அவர்களுடைய பிதாக்கள் யெகோவாவின் வழியைக் கவனித்ததுபோல, அவர்கள் அதிலே நடக்கும்படி, அதைக் கவனிப்பார்களோ இல்லையோ என்று, அவர்களைக்கொண்டு இஸ்ரவேலை சோதிப்பதற்காக அப்படிச் செய்வேன் என்றார்.
In order to put Israel to the test, and see if they will keep the way of the Lord, walking in it as their fathers did, or not.
23 ௨௩ அதற்காகக் யெகோவா அந்த தேசங்களை யோசுவாவுடைய கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்காமலும், அவைகளை சீக்கிரமாகத் துரத்திவிடாமலும் விட்டுவைத்தார்.
So the Lord let those nations go on living in the land, not driving them out quickly, and did not give them up into the hands of Joshua.
