நியாயாதிபதிகள் 10
1 ௧ அபிமெலேக்குக்கு இறந்தப் பின்பு, தோதோவின் மகனான பூவாவின் மகன் தோலா என்னும் இசக்கார் கோத்திரத்தான் இஸ்ரவேலை காப்பாற்ற எழும்பினான்; அவன் எப்பிராயீம் மலைத்தேசத்து ஊராகிய சாமீரிலே குடியிருந்தான்.

4 ௪ முப்பது கழுதைக்குட்டிகளின்மேல் ஏறும் முப்பது மகன்கள் அவனுக்கு இருந்தார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு முப்பது ஊர்களும் இருந்தது; கீலேயாத் தேசத்திலிருக்கிற அவைகளுக்கு இந்த நாள்வரைக்கும் யாவீரின் கிராமங்கள் என்கிற பெயர் இருக்கிறது.

7 ௭ அப்பொழுது யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் கோபமடைந்து, அவர்களைப் பெலிஸ்தர்கள் கையிலும், அம்மோனியர்களின் கையிலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

8 ௮ அவர்கள் அந்த ஆண்டுமுதல் 18 வருடங்களாக யோர்தான் நதிக்கு அப்பாலே கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள எமோரியர்களின் தேசத்தில் இருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களையெல்லாம் நெருக்கி ஒடுக்கினார்கள்.

9 ௯ அம்மோனியர்கள் யூதாவின்மேலும், பென்யமீன்மேலும், எப்பிராயீம் குடும்பத்தினர்மேலும் யுத்தம்செய்ய யோர்தான் நதியைக் கடந்துவந்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் மிகவும் நெருக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

10 ௧0 அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவாவை நோக்கி முறையிட்டு: உமக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்தோம்; நாங்கள் எங்களுடைய தேவனைவிட்டு, பாகால்களைத் தொழுதுகொண்டோம் என்றார்கள்.

11 ௧௧ யெகோவா இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களை நோக்கி: எகிப்தியர்களும், எமோரியர்களும், அம்மோனியர்களும், பெலிஸ்தர்களும்,
and to say LORD to(wards) son: descendant/people Israel not from Egypt and from [the] Amorite and from son: descendant/people Ammon and from Philistine
12 ௧௨ சீதோனியர்களும், அமலேக்கியர்களும், மாகோனியர்களும், உங்களை ஒடுக்கும் நேரங்களில், நீங்கள் என்னை நோக்கி முறையிட்டபோது, நான் உங்களை அவர்களுடைய கைக்கு விலக்கி இரட்சிக்கவில்லையா?

14 ௧௪ நீங்கள் போய், உங்களுக்காகத் தெரிந்துகொண்ட தெய்வங்களை நோக்கி முறையிடுங்கள்; அவைகள் உங்களுடைய ஆபத்தின் காலத்தில் உங்களை இரட்சிக்கட்டும் என்றார்.

15 ௧௫ இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் யெகோவாவை நோக்கி: பாவஞ்செய்தோம், தேவரீர் உம்முடைய பார்வைக்கு நலமானதை எங்களுக்குச் செய்யும்; இன்றைக்குமட்டும் எங்களை இரட்சித்தருளும் என்று சொல்லி,

16 ௧௬ அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைத் தங்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கிவிட்டு, யெகோவாவுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர் இஸ்ரவேலின் துயரத்தைப் பார்த்து மனதுருகினார்.

17 ௧௭ அம்மோனியர்கள் கூட்டங்கூடி, கீலேயாத்திலே முகாமிட்டார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களும் கூடிக்கொண்டு, மிஸ்பாவிலே முகாமிட்டார்கள்.

18 ௧௮ அப்பொழுது கீலேயாத்தின் மக்களும் பிரபுக்களும் ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: அம்மோனியர்கள்மேல் முதலில் யுத்தம்செய்யப்போகிற மனிதன் யார்? அவனே கீலேயாத்தின் குடியிருப்புகளுக்கெல்லாம் தலைவனாக இருப்பான் என்றார்கள்.
