யோசுவா 15
1 ௧ யூதா கோத்திரத்திற்கு அவர்களுடைய வம்சங்களின்படி உண்டான பங்குவீதமாவது: ஏதோமின் எல்லைக்கு அருகே உள்ள சீன்வனாந்திரமே தென்பகுதியின் கடைசி எல்லை.
This was the land allotted to the tribe of Judah, by families: it stretched south to the border of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin in the far south.
Their boundary began at the end of the Salt Sea—the bay that faces south—
3 ௩ தென்பகுதியில் இருக்கிற அக்ராபீமின் மேடுகளுக்கும், அங்கேயிருந்து சீனுக்கும் போய், தெற்கே இருக்கிற காதேஸ்பர்னேயாவுக்கு ஏறி, எஸ்ரோனைக் கடந்து, ஆதாருக்கு ஏறி, கர்க்காவைச் சுற்றிப் போய்,
and then went south of Scorpion Pass through the wilderness of Zin, then heading south from Kadesh-barnea to Hezron. From there it went up to Addar and then turned towards Karka,
4 ௪ அஸ்மோனுக்கும், அங்கேயிருந்து எகிப்தின் ஆற்றுக்கும் சென்று, மத்திய தரைக் கடல்வரைக்கும் போய் முடியும்; இதுவே உங்களுடைய தென்பகுதிக்கு எல்லையாக இருக்கும் என்றான்.
passing through Azmon and out to the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the sea. This was their southern border.
5 ௫ கிழக்கு எல்லையானது, யோர்தான் நதியின் ஆரம்பம்வரை இருக்கிற சவக்கடல். வடபுறமான எல்லை, யோர்தான் நதியின் ஆரம்பம் இருக்கிற கடலின் முனைதுவங்கி,
The eastern border of Judah was the Salt Sea, up to where the Jordan River ends. The northern boundary ran from the northern bay of the sea where the Jordan ends
6 ௬ பெத்ஓக்லாவுக்கு ஏறி, வடக்கே இருக்கிற பெத் அரபாவைக் கடந்து, ரூபனின் மகனாகிய போகனின் கல்லுக்கு ஏறிப்போய்,
up to the border of Beth-hoglath, and then north of Beth-arabah to the Stone of Bohan (Reuben's son).
7 ௭ பிறகு ஆகோர் பள்ளத்தாக்கைவிட்டுத் தெபீருக்கு ஏறி, வடக்கே ஆற்றின் தென்புறமான அதும்மீமின் மேட்டுக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கிற கில்காலுக்கு நேராகவும், அங்கேயிருந்து என்சேமேசின் நீரூற்றுவரைக்கும் போய், என்ரோகேல் என்னும் கிணற்றுக்குச் சென்று,
From there it went to the border of Debir through the valley of Achor, and turned north towards Gilgal, opposite the heights of Adummim to the south of the valley. Then the boundary continued to the waters of En-shemesh and out to En-rogel.
8 ௮ பிறகு எபூசியர்கள் குடியிருக்கிற எருசலேமுக்குத் தென்புறமாக இன்னோமுடைய மகனின் பள்ளத்தாக்கைக் கடந்து, வடக்கே இருக்கிற இராட்சதர்களுடைய பள்ளத்தாக்கின் கடைசியில் மேற்காக இன்னோம் பள்ளத்தாக்கின் முன்னிருக்கிற மலையின் உச்சிவரை ஏறிப்போய்,
The boundary then went through the valley of Ben-hinnom, along the southern slopes of the Jebusites, (that is Jerusalem), then on up to the top of the mountain overlooking the valley of Hinnom right up to the northern end of the valley of Rephaim.
9 ௯ அந்த மலையின் உச்சியிலிருந்து நெப்தோவாவின் நீரூற்றுக்குப் போய், எப்பெரோன் மலையின் பட்டணங்களுக்குச் சென்று, கீரியாத்யெயாரீமாகிய பாலாவுக்குப் போய்,
From there the boundary ran from the top of the mountain to the water spring at Nephtoah and on to the towns on Mount Ephron. Then it bent towards Ballah (Kiriath-jearim).
10 ௧0 பாலாவிலிருந்து மேற்கே சேயீர் மலைக்குத் திரும்பி, வடக்கே இருக்கிற கெசலோனாகிய யெயாரீம் மலைக்குப் பக்கமாகப் போய், பெத்ஷிமேசுக்கு இறங்கி, திம்னாவுக்குப் போய்,
Then the boundary moved around to the west of Baalah to Mount Seir and passed along the northern slope of Mount Jearim to the town of Kesalon, down to Beth Shemesh and on to Timnah.
11 ௧௧ 1 பின்பு வடக்கே இருக்கிற எக்ரோனுக்குப் பக்கமாகச் சென்று, சிக்ரோனுக்கு ஓடி, பாலாமலையைக் கடந்து, யாப்னியேலுக்குச் சென்று, மத்திய தரைக் கடலிலே முடியும்.
The boundary then ran to the north slope of Ekron, and bent towards Shikkeron, passing Mount Baalah, out to Jabneel, and ending at the sea.
12 ௧௨ மேற்கு எல்லை, பெரிய மத்திய தரைக் கடலே; இது யூதா கோத்திரத்தார்களுக்கு அவர்களுடைய வம்சங்களின்படி சுற்றிலுமிருக்கும் எல்லை.
The western boundary was the coastline of the Great Sea. These were the boundaries around the tribe of Judah, by families.
13 ௧௩ எப்புன்னேயின் மகனாகிய காலேபுக்கு, யோசுவா, யெகோவா தனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி, ஏனாக்கின் தகப்பனாகிய அர்பாவின் பட்டணமான எபிரோனை யூதா கோத்திரத்தின் நடுவே பங்காகக் கொடுத்தான்.
The Lord had instructed Joshua to allocate some land in Judah's territory to Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and so he was given the town of Kiriath-arba, or Hebron. (Arba was the father of Anak.)
14 ௧௪ அங்கேயிருந்த சேசாய், அகீமான், தல்மாய் என்னும் ஏனாக்கின் மூன்று மகன்களையும் காலேப் துரத்திவிட்டு,
Caleb drove out three family groups—Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, descendants of Anak.
15 ௧௫ அங்கேயிருந்து தெபீரின் குடிகளிடத்திற்குப் போனான்; முற்காலத்திலே தெபீரின் பெயர் கீரியாத்செப்பேர்.
From there he went to attack the inhabitants of Debir (previously known as Kiriath-sepher).
16 ௧௬ கீரியாத்செப்பேரை அழித்துக் கைப்பற்றுகிறவனுக்கு, என் மகளாகிய அக்சாளைத் திருமணம் செய்துகொடுப்பேன் என்று காலேப் சொன்னான்.
Caleb announced, “Whoever attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give him my daughter Acsah to marry.”
17 ௧௭ அப்பொழுது காலேபின் சகோதரனாகிய கேனாசின் மகன் ஒத்னியேல் அதைக் கைப்பற்றினான்; எனவே, தன் மகள் அக்சாளை அவனுக்குத் திருமணம் செய்துகொடுத்தான்.
Othniel, son of Kenaz, brother of Caleb, captured the town so Caleb gave him his daughter Acsah to marry.
18 ௧௮ அவள் புறப்படும்போது, என் தகப்பனிடத்தில் ஒரு வயல்வெளியைக் கேட்கவேண்டும் என்று அவனிடம் அனுமதி பெற்றுக்கொண்டு, கழுதையின்மேலிருந்து இறங்கினாள். காலேப் அவளைப் பார்த்து: உனக்கு என்னவேண்டும் என்றான்.
When she came to him, she encouraged him to ask her father for a field. When she got off her donkey, Caleb asked her, “What do you want?”
19 ௧௯ அப்பொழுது அவள்: எனக்கு ஒரு ஆசீர்வாதம் தரவேண்டும்; எனக்கு வறட்சியான நிலத்தைத் தந்தீர்; நீர்ப்பாய்ச்சலான நிலத்தையும் எனக்குத் தரவேண்டும் என்றாள்; அப்பொழுது அவளுக்கு மேற்புறத்திலும் கீழ்ப்புறத்திலும் நீர்ப்பாய்ச்சலான நிலங்களைக் கொடுத்தான்.
She replied, “Please give me a blessing. Since you have already given me land that's like the desert, please give me springs of water as well.” So he gave her both the upper and the lower springs.
This was the land allotted to the tribe of Judah, by families.
21 ௨௧ தென்புறத்தின் கடைசியான ஏதோமின் எல்லைக்கு நேராக, யூதா கோத்திரத்திற்குக் கிடைத்த பட்டணங்களாவன: கப்செயேல், ஏதேர், யாகூர்,

46 ௪௬ எக்ரோன் துவங்கிச் மத்திய தரைக் கடல் வரை, அஸ்தோத்தின் பகுதியில் இருக்கிற எல்லா ஊர்களும், அவைகளின் கிராமங்களும்,
from Ekron to the sea those towns near Ashdod and their associated villages,
47 ௪௭ அஸ்தோத்தும், அதின் வெளிநிலங்களும் கிராமங்களும், காசாவும் எகிப்தின் ஆறு வரையிருக்கிற அதின் வெளிநிலங்களும் கிராமங்களுமே; மத்திய தரைக் கடலே எல்லை.
Ashdod and its towns with its associated villages, and Gaza with its towns and associated villages, as far as the Wadi of Egypt, and along the coastline of the sea.
In the hill country: Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,
Dannah, Kiriath-sannah (or Debir),
Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim,
Goshen, Holon, and Giloh—eleven towns with their associated villages.

63 ௬௩ எருசலேமிலே குடியிருந்த எபூசியர்களை யூதா கோத்திரத்தார்கள் துரத்திவிடமுடியாமல்போனது; ஆகவே இந்த நாள்வரை எபூசியர்கள் யூதா கோத்திரத்தார்களோடு எருசலேமிலே குடியிருக்கிறார்கள்.
However, the tribe of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so the Jebusites live among the tribe of Judah in Jerusalem to this very day.
