யோவான் 9

1 ௧ அவர் அப்புறம் போகும்போது பிறவிக் குருடனாகிய ஒரு மனிதனைப் பார்த்தார்.

And Jesus passing by, saw a man, who was blind from his birth:

2 ௨ அப்பொழுது அவருடைய சீடர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: ரபீ, இவன் குருடனாக பிறந்தது யார் செய்த பாவம், இவன் செய்த பாவமோ, இவனைப் பெற்றவர்கள் செய்த பாவமோ என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And his disciples asked him: Rabbi, who hath sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?

3 ௩ இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: அது இவன் செய்த பாவமும் இல்லை, இவனைப் பெற்றவர்கள் செய்த பாவமும் இல்லை, தேவனுடைய செயல்கள் இவனிடத்தில் வெளிப்படுவதற்கு இப்படிப் பிறந்தான்.

Jesus answered: Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

4 ௪ பகலாக இருக்கும்வரை நான் என்னை அனுப்பினவருடைய செயல்களைச் செய்யவேண்டும்; ஒருவனும் செயல்கள் செய்யக்கூடாத இரவு நேரம் வருகிறது.

I must work the works of him that sent me, whilst it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

5 ௫ நான் உலகத்தில் இருக்கும்போது உலகத்திற்கு ஒளியாக இருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

6 ௬ இவைகளைச் சொல்லி, அவர் தரையிலே உமிழ்ந்து, உமிழ்நீரினால் சேறுண்டாக்கி, அந்தச் சேற்றைக் குருடனுடைய கண்களின்மேல் பூசி:

When he had said these things, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and spread the clay on his eyes,

7 ௭ நீ போய், சீலோவாம் குளத்திலே கழுவு என்றார். சீலோவாம் என்பதற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டவன் என்று அர்த்தம். அப்படியே அவன்போய்க் கழுவி, பார்வை அடைந்தவனாக திரும்பி வந்தான்.

And said to him: Go, wash in the pool of Siloe, which is interpreted, Sent. He went therefore, and washed, and he came seeing.

8 ௮ அப்பொழுது அருகில் உள்ளவர்களும், அவன் குருடனாக இருக்கும்போது அவனைப் பார்த்திருந்தவர்களும்: இவன் உட்கார்ந்து பிச்சை கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தவன் அல்லவா என்றார்கள்.

The neighbours therefore, and they who had seen him before that he was a beggar, said: Is not this he that sat and begged? Some said: This is he.

9 ௯ சிலர்: அவன்தான் என்றார்கள். வேறுசிலர்: அவனைப்போல இருக்கிறான் என்றார்கள். அவனோ: நான்தான் அவன் என்றான்.

But others said: No, but he is like him. But he said: I am he.

10 ௧0 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவனைப் பார்த்து: உன் கண்கள் எப்படித் திறக்கப்பட்டது என்றார்கள்.

They said therefore to him: How were thy eyes opened?

11 ௧௧ அவன் மறுமொழியாக: இயேசு என்னப்பட்ட ஒருவர் சேறுண்டாக்கி, என் கண்களின்மேல் பூசி, நீ போய் சீலோவாம் குளத்திலே கழுவு என்றார். அப்படியே நான் போய்க் கழுவி, பார்வை அடைந்தேன் என்றான்.

He answered: That man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me: Go to the pool of Siloe, and wash. And I went, I washed, and I see.

12 ௧௨ அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: அவர் எங்கே என்றார்கள். அவன்: எனக்குத் தெரியாது என்றான்.

And they said to him: Where is he? He saith: I know not.

13 ௧௩ குருடனாக இருந்த அவனைப் பரிசேயர்களிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.

They bring him that had been blind to the Pharisees.

14 ௧௪ இயேசு சேறுண்டாக்கி, அவன் கண்களைத் திறந்த நாள் ஓய்வுநாளாக இருந்தது.

Now it was the sabbath, when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

15 ௧௫ ஆகவே, பரிசேயர்களும் அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ எப்படிப் பார்வை அடைந்தாய் என்று மீண்டும் கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: அவர் என் கண்களின்மேல் சேற்றைப் பூசினார், நான் கழுவினேன், பார்க்கிறேன் என்றான்.

Again therefore the Pharisees asked him, how he had received his sight. But he said to them: He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and I see.

16 ௧௬ அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர்களில் சிலர்: அந்த மனிதன் ஓய்வுநாளைக் கடைபிடிக்காததினால் அவன் தேவனிடத்தில் இருந்து வந்தவன் இல்லை என்றார்கள். வேறுசிலர்: பாவியாக இருக்கிற மனிதன் இப்படிப்பட்ட அற்புதங்களை எப்படிச் செய்வான் என்றார்கள். இந்தவிதமாக அவர்களுக்குள்ளே பிரிவினை ஏற்பட்டது.

Some therefore of the Pharisees said: This man is not of God, who keepeth not the sabbath. But others said: How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

17 ௧௭ மீண்டும் அவர்கள் குருடனைப் பார்த்து: உன் கண்களைத் திறந்தானே, அவனைக்குறித்து நீ என்ன சொல்லுகிறாய் என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: அவர் தீர்க்கதரிசி என்றான்.

They say therefore to the blind man again: What sayest thou of him that hath opened they eyes? And he said: He is a prophet.

18 ௧௮ அவன் குருடனாக இருந்து பார்வை அடைந்ததை யூதர்கள் நம்பாமல், பார்வை அடைந்தவனுடைய பெற்றோரை அழைத்து,

The Jews then did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight,

19 ௧௯ அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: உங்களுடைய மகன் குருடனாகப் பிறந்தான் என்று சொல்லுகிறீர்களே, அவன் இவன்தானா? இவனானால், இப்பொழுது இவன் எப்படிப் பார்வையடைந்தான் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

And asked them, saying: Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then doth he now see?

20 ௨0 பெற்றோர் மறுமொழியாக; இவன் எங்களுடைய மகன்தான் என்றும், குருடனாகப் பிறந்தான் என்றும் எங்களுக்குத் தெரியும்.

His parents answered them, and said: We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

21 ௨௧ இப்பொழுது இவன் பார்வை அடைந்தது எப்படி என்று எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது; இவனுடைய கண்களைத் திறந்தவன் யார் என்பதும் எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது; இவன் வாலிபனாக இருக்கிறான், இவனையே கேளுங்கள், இவனே சொல்லுவான் என்றார்கள்.

But how he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: ask himself: he is of age, let him speak for himself.

22 ௨௨ அவனுடைய பெற்றோர்கள் யூதர்களுக்குப் பயந்ததினால் இப்படிச் சொன்னார்கள். ஏனென்றால், இயேசுவைக் கிறிஸ்து என்று யாராவது அறிக்கை செய்தால் அவனை ஜெப ஆலயத்திற்குப் வெளியாக்க வேண்டும் என்று யூதர்கள் அதற்கு ஏற்கனவே முடிவு செய்திருந்தார்கள்.

These things his parents said, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had already agreed among themselves, that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

23 ௨௩ அதினிமித்தம்: இவன் வாலிபனாக இருக்கிறான், இவனையே கேளுங்கள் என்று அவனுடைய பெற்றோர்கள் சொன்னார்கள்.

Therefore did his parents say: He is of age, ask himself.

24 ௨௪ ஆதலால் அவர்கள் குருடனாக இருந்த மனிதனை இரண்டாம்முறை அழைத்து: நீ தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்து; இந்த மனிதன் பாவி என்று நாங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம் என்றார்கள்.

They therefore called the man again that had been blind, and said to him: Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.

25 ௨௫ அவன் மறுமொழியாக: அவர் பாவியா இல்லையா என்று எனக்குத் தெரியாது; நான் குருடனாக இருந்தேன், இப்பொழுது பார்க்கிறேன்; இது ஒன்றுதான் எனக்குத் தெரியும் என்றான்.

He said therefore to them: If he be a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see.

26 ௨௬ அவர்கள் மறுபடியும் அவனைப் பார்த்து: உனக்கு என்ன செய்தான், உன் கண்களை எப்படித் திறந்தான் என்றார்கள்.

They said then to him: What did he to thee? How did he open thy eyes?

27 ௨௭ அவன் மறுமொழியாக: ஏற்கனவே உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன், நீங்கள் கேட்காமல் போனீர்கள்; மறுபடியும் ஏன் கேட்கிறீர்கள்? அவருக்குச் சீடராக உங்களுக்கும் விருப்பம் இருக்கிறதா என்றான்.

He answered them: I have told you already, and you have heard: why would you hear it again? will you also become his disciples?

28 ௨௮ அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவனைத் திட்டி: நீ அவனுடைய சீடன், நாங்கள் மோசேயினுடைய சீடர்.

They reviled him therefore, and said: Be thou his disciple; but we are the disciples of Moses.

29 ௨௯ மோசேயுடனே தேவன் பேசினார் என்று தெரியும், இவன் எங்கே இருந்து வந்தவன் என்று எங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது என்றார்கள்.

We know that God spoke to Moses: but as to this man, we know not from whence he is.

30 ௩0 அதற்கு அந்த மனிதன்: அவர் என் கண்களைத் திறந்திருந்தும், அவர் எங்கிருந்து வந்தவர் என்று நீங்கள் தெரியாமல் இருப்பது ஆச்சரியமான காரியம்.

The man answered, and said to them: Why, herein is a wonderful thing, that you know not from whence he is, and he hath opened my eyes.

31 ௩௧ பாவிகளுக்கு தேவன் செவிகொடுக்கிறது இல்லை என்று தெரிந்திருக்கிறோம்; ஒருவன் தேவபக்தி உள்ளவனாக இருந்து அவருக்கு பிரியமானதைச் செய்தால் அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பார்.

Now we know that God doth not hear sinners: but if a man be a server of God, and doth his will, him he heareth.

32 ௩௨ பிறவிக் குருடனுடைய கண்களை ஒருவன் திறந்தான் என்று உலகம் உண்டானதுமுதல் கேள்விப்பட்டது இல்லையே. (aiōn g165)

From the beginning of the world it hath not been heard, that any man hath opened the eyes of one born blind. (aiōn g165)

33 ௩௩ அவர் தேவனிடத்தில் இருந்து வராமல் இருந்தால் ஒன்றும் செய்யமாட்டாரே என்றான்.

Unless this man were of God, he could not do any thing.

34 ௩௪ அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: முழுவதும் பாவத்தில் பிறந்த நீ எங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கிறாயோ என்று சொல்லி, அவனைப் வெளியே தள்ளிவிட்டார்கள்.

They answered, and said to him: Thou wast wholly born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

35 ௩௫ அவனை அவர்கள் வெளியே தள்ளிவிட்டதை இயேசு கேள்விப்பட்டு, அவனைப் பார்த்தபோது: நீ தேவனுடைய குமாரனிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாக இருக்கிறாயா என்றார்.

Jesus heard that they had cast him out: and when he had found him, he said to him: Dost thou believe in the Son of God?

36 ௩௬ அதற்கு அவன்: ஆண்டவரே, அவரிடத்தில் நான் விசுவாசமாக இருக்கும்படிக்கு அவர் யார் என்றான்.

He answered, and said: Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?

37 ௩௭ இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ அவரைப் பார்த்திருக்கிறாய், உன்னுடனே பேசுகிறவர் அவர்தான் என்றார்.

And Jesus said to him: Thou hast both seen him; and it is he that talketh with thee.

38 ௩௮ உடனே அவன்: ஆண்டவரே, விசுவாசிக்கிறேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவரைப் பணிந்துகொண்டான்.

And he said: I believe, Lord. And falling down, he adored him.

39 ௩௯ அப்பொழுது இயேசு: பார்க்காதவர்கள் பார்க்கும்படியாகவும், பார்க்கிறவர்கள் குருடராகும்படியாகவும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு நான் இந்த உலகத்தில் வந்தேன் என்றார்.

And Jesus said: For judgment I am come into this world; that they who see not, may see; and they who see, may become blind.

40 ௪0 அவரோடு இருந்த பரிசேயர்களில் சிலர் இவைகளைக் கேட்டபொழுது: நாங்களும் குருடரோ என்றார்கள்.

And some of the Pharisees, who were with him, heard: and they said unto him: Are we also blind?

41 ௪௧ இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் குருடராக இருந்தால் உங்களுக்குப் பாவம் இருக்காது; நீங்கள் பார்க்கிறோம் என்று சொல்லுகிறபடியினால் உங்களுடைய பாவம் நிலைநிற்கிறது என்றார்.

Jesus said to them: If you were blind, you should not have sin: but now you say: We see. Your sin remaineth.
