but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 ௨ மறுநாள் காலையில் அவர் திரும்பி தேவாலயத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அவரிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள். அவர் உட்கார்ந்து அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம் செய்தார்.
At dawn, He came back into the temple. All the people were coming to Him, and He sat down and began to teach them.
3 ௩ அப்பொழுது விபசாரத்திலே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு பெண்ணை வேதபண்டிதர்களும், பரிசேயர்களும் அவரிடத்தில் அழைத்துவந்து, அவளை நடுவே நிறுத்தி:
The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the midst,
they told Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act.
5 ௫ இப்படிப்பட்டவர்களைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொல்லவேண்டும் என்று மோசே நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தில் நமக்குக் கட்டளைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறாரே, நீர் என்ன சொல்லுகிறீர் என்றார்கள்.
In the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. What do You say?”
6 ௬ அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவதற்கான காரணம் உண்டாக்குவதற்கு, அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி இப்படிச் சொன்னார்கள் இயேசுவோ குனிந்து, விரலினால் தரையிலே எழுதினார்.
They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds to accuse Him. Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as if He didn’t hear.
7 ௭ அவர்கள் தொடர்ந்து அவரைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, அவர் நிமிர்ந்துபார்த்து: உங்களில் பாவமில்லாதவன் இவள்மீது முதலாவது கல்லெறியட்டும் என்று சொல்லி,
When they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and told them, “Let whoever is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”
He stooped down, again, and wrote on the ground.
9 ௯ அவர்கள் அதைக்கேட்டு, தங்களுடைய மனச்சாட்சியில் உணர்த்தப்பட்டு, பெரியோர் முதல் சிறியோர் வரைக்கும் ஒவ்வொருவராக போய்விட்டார்கள். இயேசு தனித்திருந்தார், அந்த பெண் நடுவே நின்றாள்.
When they heard this, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones. Jesus was left alone with the woman still standing there.
10 ௧0 இயேசு நிமிர்ந்து அந்த பெண்ணைத்தவிர வேறொருவரையும் காணாமல்: பெண்ணே, உன்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்தினவர்கள் எங்கே? ஒருவன்கூட உன்னைத் தண்டனைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்க்கவில்லையா என்றார்.
Straightening up, Jesus asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”
11 ௧௧ அதற்கு அவள்: இல்லை, ஆண்டவரே, என்றாள். இயேசு அவளைப் பார்த்து: நானும் உன்னைத் தண்டனைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்க்கிறதில்லை; நீ போ, இனிப் பாவம் செய்யாதே என்றார்.
She said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”
12 ௧௨ மறுபடியும் இயேசு மக்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் உலகத்திற்கு ஒளியாக இருக்கிறேன், என்னைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவன் இருளிலே நடக்காமல் ஜீவ ஒளியை அடைந்திருப்பான் என்றார்.
Jesus spoke again to the people, saying, “I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me won’t walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13 ௧௩ அப்பொழுது பரிசேயர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: உன்னைக்குறித்து நீயே சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறாய்; உன்னுடைய சாட்சி உண்மையானதல்ல என்றார்கள்.
Then the Pharisees told Him, “You are testifying on your own behalf, so your testimony isn’t valid.”
14 ௧௪ இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: என்னைக்குறித்து நானே சாட்சி கொடுத்தாலும், என் சாட்சி உண்மையாக இருக்கிறது; ஏனென்றால், நான் எங்கே இருந்து வந்தேன் என்றும், எங்கே போகிறேன் என்றும் அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; நீங்களோ நான் எங்கே இருந்து வருகிறேன் என்றும், எங்கே போகிறேன் என்றும் உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாது.
Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid because I know where I came from and where I am going, but you don’t know where I come from or where I am going.
15 ௧௫ நீங்கள் மனித வழக்கத்திற்கு ஏற்றபடி நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறீர்கள், நான் ஒருவனையும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறதில்லை;
You judge by human standards, but I am not judging anyone.
16 ௧௬ நான் நியாயந்தீர்த்தால், என் தீர்ப்பு சத்தியத்தின்படி இருக்கும்; ஏனென்றால், நான் தனித்திருக்கவில்லை, நானும் என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவுமாக இருக்கிறோம்.
Even if I do judge, my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.
It’s also written in your Law that the testimony of two men is valid.
18 ௧௮ நான் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சி கொடுக்கிறவனாக இருக்கிறேன், என்னை அனுப்பின பிதாவும் என்னைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிக் கொடுக்கிறார் என்றார்.
I am one who bears witness of myself, and my Father who sent me bears witness of me.”
19 ௧௯ அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: உம்முடைய பிதா எங்கே என்றார்கள். இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: என்னையும் அறியீர்கள். என் பிதாவையும் அறியீர்கள்; நீங்கள் என்னை அறிந்தீர்களானால் என் பிதாவையும் அறிவீர்கள் என்றார்.
Then they asked Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you had known me, you would have known my Father, too.”
20 ௨0 தேவாலயத்திலே இயேசு உபதேசம் செய்கிறபோது, காணிக்கைப்பெட்டி இருக்கும் இடத்தில் இந்த வசனங்களைச் சொன்னார். அவருடைய வேளை இன்னும் வராதபடியினால் ஒருவனும் அவரைப் பிடிக்கவில்லை.
Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, as He taught in the temple. Nobody laid hands on Him, for His time had not yet come.
21 ௨௧ இயேசு மறுபடியும் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் போகிறேன், நீங்கள் என்னைத் தேடி உங்களுடைய பாவங்களிலே மரித்துப்போவீர்கள்; நான் போகிற இடத்திற்கு உங்களால் வர முடியாது என்றார்.
Jesus told them again, “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you can’t come.”
22 ௨௨ அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள்: நான் போகிற இடத்திற்கு உங்களால் வர முடியாது என்கிறானே, தன்னைத்தானே கொலைசெய்து கொள்ளுவானோ என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
Therefore the Jews were saying, “Surely He won’t kill Himself, will He, since He says, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come’?”
23 ௨௩ அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் கீழேயிருந்து உண்டானவர்கள், நான் மேலேயிருந்து உண்டானவன்; நீங்கள் இந்த உலகத்திலிருந்து உண்டானவர்கள், நான் இந்த உலகத்திலிருந்து உண்டானவன் இல்லை.
Jesus was saying to them, “You are from below. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.
24 ௨௪ ஆகவே, நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய பாவங்களில் மரித்துப்போவீர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்; நானே அவர் என்று நீங்கள் விசுவாசிக்காவிட்டால் உங்களுடைய பாவங்களிலே மரித்துப்போவீர்கள் என்றார்.
Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins, because if you don’t believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
25 ௨௫ அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நீர் யார் என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் ஆரம்ப முதலாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறவர் தான்.
Then they asked Him, “Who are You?” Jesus told them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.
26 ௨௬ உங்களைக்குறித்துப் பேசவும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கவும் எனக்கு அநேக காரியங்கள் இருக்கிறது; என்னை அனுப்பினவர் சத்தியமானவர்; நான் அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டவைகளை உலகத்திற்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
I have many things to say and judge about you, but He who sent me is true, and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.”
They didn’t realize that He had been speaking to them about the Father.
28 ௨௮ ஆதலால் இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் மனிதகுமாரனை உயர்த்தினபின்பு, நானே அவர் என்றும், நான் என் சொந்தமாக ஒன்றும் செய்யாமல், என் பிதா எனக்குப் போதித்தபடியே இவைகளைச் சொன்னேன் என்றும் அறிவீர்கள்.
So, Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on my own, but I speak these things as the Father taught me.
29 ௨௯ என்னை அனுப்பினவர் என்னுடனே இருக்கிறார், பிதாவிற்குப் பிரியமானவைகளை நான் எப்பொழுதும் செய்கிறதினால் அவர் என்னைத் தனியே இருக்கவிடவில்லை என்றார்.
He who sent me is with me. He hasn’t left me alone, because I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”
As Jesus spoke, many came to believe in Him.
31 ௩௧ இயேசு தம்மை விசுவாசித்த யூதர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் என் உபதேசத்தில் நிலைத்திருந்தால் உண்மையாகவே என் சீடராக இருப்பீர்கள்;
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you continue in my words, you are truly my disciples,
and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 ௩௩ அவர்கள் அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நாங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியாக இருக்கிறோம், நாங்கள் ஒருபோதும் ஒருவனுக்கும் அடிமைகளாக இருக்கவில்லை; விடுதலையாவீர்கள் என்று நீர் எப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறீர் என்றார்கள்.
They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been slaves to anyone. How can you say that we’ll be set free?”
34 ௩௪ இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: பாவம் செய்கிறவன் எவனும் பாவத்திற்கு அடிமையாக இருக்கிறான் என்று உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I tell you, whoever sins is a slave of sin.
35 ௩௫ அடிமையானவன் என்றைக்கும் வீட்டிலே நிலைத்திரான்; குமாரன் என்றைக்கும் நிலைத்திருக்கிறார். (aiōn g165)
A slave doesn’t remain in the house forever, but a son does belong forever. (aiōn g165)
Therefore if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
37 ௩௭ நீங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததியார் என்று அறிவேன்; ஆனாலும் உங்களுக்குள்ளே என் உபதேசம் இடம் பெறாததினால், என்னைக் கொலைசெய்யத் தேடுகிறீர்கள்.
“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill me, because my word has no place in you.
38 ௩௮ நான் என் பிதாவினிடத்தில் பார்த்ததைச் சொல்லுகிறேன், நீங்களும் உங்களுடைய பிதாவினிடத்தில் பார்த்ததைச் செய்கிறீர்கள் என்றார்.
I talk about what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”
39 ௩௯ அதற்கு அவர்கள்: ஆபிரகாமே எங்களுடைய பிதா என்றார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் ஆபிரகாமின் பிள்ளைகளாக இருந்தால் ஆபிரகாமின் செயல்களைச் செய்வீர்களே.
They answered, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus told them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham,
40 ௪0 தேவனிடத்தில் கேட்டிருக்கிற சத்தியத்தை உங்களுக்குச் சொன்ன மனிதனாகிய என்னைக் கொல்லத் தேடுகிறீர்கள், ஆபிரகாம் இப்படிச் செய்யவில்லையே.
but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this.
41 ௪௧ நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய பிதாவின் செயல்களைச் செய்கிறீர்கள் என்றார். அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நாங்கள் வேசித்தனத்தினால் பிறந்தவர்கள் இல்லை; ஒரே பிதா எங்களுக்கு இருக்கிறார், அவர் தேவன் என்றார்கள்.
You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We weren’t born of fornication. We have one Father — God.”
42 ௪௨ இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: தேவன் உங்களுடைய பிதாவாக இருந்தால் என்னிடத்தில் அன்பாக இருப்பீர்கள். ஏனென்றால், நான் தேவனிடத்தில் இருந்து வந்திருக்கிறேன்; நான் நானாக வரவில்லை, அவரே என்னை அனுப்பினார்.
Jesus said, “If God were your Father, you would sincerely love me, for I came from God, and now am here. I haven’t come of my own initiative, but He sent me.
43 ௪௩ என் வசனத்தை நீங்கள் ஏன் அறியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்? என் உபதேசத்தைக் கேட்க மனதில்லாமல் இருக்கிறதினால் அல்லவா?
Why don’t you understand what I say? It’s because you can’t accept my words.
44 ௪௪ நீங்கள் உங்களுடைய தகப்பனாகிய பிசாசானவனால் உண்டானவர்கள்; உங்களுடைய தகப்பனின் ஆசைகளின்படி செய்ய விருப்பமாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்; அவன் ஆரம்ப முதற்கொண்டு மனித கொலைபாதகனாக இருக்கிறான்; சத்தியம் அவனிடத்தில் இல்லாததினால் அவன் சத்தியத்திலே நிலை நிற்கவில்லை; அவன் பொய்யனும் பொய்க்குப் தகப்பனுமாக இருக்கிறதினால் அவன் பொய் பேசும்போது தன்னுடைய சுபாவத்தின்படி அப்படிப் பேசுகிறான்.
You are of your father, the Devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar, and the father of lies.
Because I tell the truth, you don’t believe me.
46 ௪௬ என்னிடத்தில் பாவம் உண்டென்று உங்களில் யார் என்னைக் குற்றப்படுத்தமுடியும்? நான் சத்தியத்தைச் சொல்லியிருந்தும், நீங்கள் ஏன் என்னை விசுவாசிக்கவில்லை.
Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why don’t you believe me?
47 ௪௭ தேவனால் உண்டானவன் தேவனுடைய வசனங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறான்; நீங்கள் தேவனால் உண்டாகாததினால் செவிகொடுக்காமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள் என்றார்.
Whoever is from God hears God’s words. The reason you don’t hear them is that you aren’t from God.”
48 ௪௮ அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவருக்கு மறுமொழியாக: உன்னைச் சமாரியன் என்றும், பிசாசு பிடித்தவன் என்றும் நாங்கள் சொல்லுகிறது சரிதானே என்றார்கள்.
The Jews answered and asked Him, “Aren’t we right in saying that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”
49 ௪௯ அதற்கு இயேசு: நான் பிசாசு பிடித்தவன் இல்லை, நான் என் பிதாவை மதிக்கிறேன், நீங்கள் என்னை மதிக்காமலிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.
I don’t seek glory for myself, but there is One who seeks it, and He is the judge.
51 ௫௧ ஒருவன் என் வார்த்தையைக் கடைபிடித்தால், அவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரணத்தைப் பார்ப்பதில்லை என்று உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார். (aiōn g165)
Most assuredly, I tell you, anyone who keeps my word will never see death.” (aiōn g165)
52 ௫௨ அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: நீ பிசாசு பிடித்தவன் என்று இப்பொழுது அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; ஆபிரகாமும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் மரித்தார்கள். நீயோ: ஒருவன், என் வார்த்தையைக் கடைபிடித்தால் என்றென்றைக்கும் மரணத்தை ருசிபார்ப்பதில்லை என்கிறாய். (aiōn g165)
Then the Jews answered Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets, and You say, ‘Anyone who keeps my word will never taste death.’ (aiōn g165)
53 ௫௩ எங்களுடைய பிதாவாகிய ஆபிரகாமிலும் நீ பெரியவனோ? அவர் மரித்தார், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் மரித்தார்கள்; உன்னை நீ யார் என்று நினைக்கிறாய் என்றார்கள்.
Surely You aren’t greater than our forefather Abraham, who died? The prophets died too. Who do You claim to be?”
54 ௫௪ இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: என்னை நானே மகிமைப்படுத்தினால் அந்த மகிமை வீணாயிருக்கும், என் பிதா என்னை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறவர், அவரை உங்களுடைய தேவன் என்று நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்.
Jesus answered, “If I honor myself, my honor is nothing. It’s my Father, who you say is your God, who honors me.
55 ௫௫ ஆனாலும் நீங்கள் அவரை அறியவில்லை, நான் அவரை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்; அவரை அறியேன் என்று சொன்னால் உங்களைப்போல நானும் பொய்யனாக இருப்பேன்; அவரை நான் அறிந்து, அவருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கடைபிடிக்கிறேன்.
Yet you haven’t come to know Him, but I know Him. If I said, ‘I don’t know Him,’ I would be a liar like you, but I do know Him and keep His word.
56 ௫௬ உங்களுடைய தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாம் என்னுடைய நாளைக் காண ஆசையாக இருந்தான்; பார்த்து மகிழ்ந்தான் என்றார்.
Your forefather Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day, and he saw it and was glad.”
57 ௫௭ அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: உனக்கு இன்னும் ஐம்பது வயதாகவில்லையே, நீ ஆபிரகாமைப் பார்த்தாயோ என்றார்கள்.
Then the Jews said to Him, “You aren’t yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?”
58 ௫௮ அதற்கு இயேசு: ஆபிரகாம் உண்டாவதற்கு முன்னமே நான் இருக்கிறேன் என்று உண்மையாகவே உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
Jesus told them, “Most assuredly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
59 ௫௯ அப்பொழுது அவர்மேல் எறியும்படி கற்களை எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள். இயேசு மறைந்து, அவர்கள் நடுவே கடந்து, தேவாலயத்தைவிட்டுப்போனார்.
Then they took up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
