யோவான் 18
1 ௧ இயேசு இவைகளைச் சொன்னபின்பு, தம்முடைய சீடர்களோடு கெதரோன் என்னும் ஆற்றுக்கு அந்தப்புறம் போனார்; அங்கே ஒரு தோட்டம் இருந்தது, அதிலே அவரும் அவருடைய சீடர்களும் நுழைந்தார்கள்.
When Yeshua had spoken these words, he went out with his disciples over the wadi of the Kidron, where there was a garden, into which he and his disciples entered.
2 ௨ இயேசு தம்முடைய சீடர்களோடு அடிக்கடி அங்கே சென்றிருந்தபடியினால், அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிற யூதாசும் அந்த இடத்தை அறிந்திருந்தான்.
Now Yehudah, who betrayed him, also knew the place, for Yeshua often met there with his disciples.
3 ௩ யூதாஸ் படைவீரர்கள் கூட்டத்தையும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்கள், பரிசேயர்கள் என்பவர்களால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட அதிகாரிகளையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, தீ பந்தங்களோடும், விளக்குகளோடும் ஆயுதங்களோடும், அந்த இடத்திற்கு வந்தான்.
Yehudah then, having taken a detachment of soldiers and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons.
4 ௪ இயேசு தமக்கு சம்பவிக்கப்போகிற எல்லாவற்றையும் அறிந்து, எதிர்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: யாரைத் தேடுகிறீர்கள் என்றார்.
Yeshua therefore, knowing all the things that were happening to him, went forth, and said to them, "Who are you looking for?"
5 ௫ அவருக்கு அவர்கள் மறுமொழியாக: நசரேயனாகிய இயேசுவைத் தேடுகிறோம் என்றார்கள். அதற்கு இயேசு: நான்தான் என்றார். அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்த யூதாசும் அவர்களோடு நின்றான்.
They answered him, "Yeshua the Natsraya." Yeshua said to them, "I AM." Yehudah also, who betrayed him, was standing with them.
When therefore he said to them, "I AM," they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 ௭ அவர் மறுபடியும் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: யாரைத் தேடுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார். அவர்கள்: நசரேயனாகிய இயேசுவைத் தேடுகிறோம் என்றார்கள்.
Again therefore he asked them, "Who are you looking for?" They said, "Yeshua the Natsraya."
8 ௮ இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: நான்தான் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேனே; என்னைத் தேடிவந்திருந்தால், இவர்களைப் போகவிடுங்கள் என்றார்.
Yeshua answered, "I told you that I AM. If therefore you seek me, let these go their way,"
9 ௯ நீர் எனக்குத் தந்தவர்களில் ஒருவனையும் நான் இழந்து போகவில்லை என்று அவர் சொல்லிய வார்த்தை நிறைவேறத்தக்கதாக இப்படி நடந்தது.
that the word might be fulfilled which he spoke, "Of those whom you have given me, I have lost none."
10 ௧0 அப்பொழுது சீமோன்பேதுரு, தன்னிடத்தில் இருந்த வாளை உருவி, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரனின் வலதுகாதை வெட்டினான்; அந்த வேலைக்காரனுக்கு மல்குஸ் என்று பெயர்.
Shimon Kipha therefore, having a sword, drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malek.
11 ௧௧ அப்பொழுது இயேசு பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து: உன் வாளை உறையிலே போடு; பிதா எனக்குக் கொடுத்த பாத்திரத்தில் நான் குடிக்காதிருப்பேனோ என்றார்.
Yeshua therefore said to Kipha, "Put the sword into its sheath. The cup which the Father has given me, shall I not surely drink it?"
12 ௧௨ அப்பொழுது படைவீரர்களும், ஆயிரம் படைவீரர்களுக்குத் தலைவனும், யூதர்களுடைய அதிகாரிகளும் இயேசுவைப்பிடித்து, அவரைக் கட்டி,
So the detachment, the commanding officer, and the officers of the Jewish leaders, seized Yeshua and bound him,
13 ௧௩ முதலாவது அவரை அன்னா என்பவனிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அவன் அந்த வருடத்துப் பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய காய்பாவிற்கு மாமனாக இருந்தான்.
and led him to Khanan first, for he was father-in-law to Qayapha, who was high priest that year.
14 ௧௪ மக்களுக்காக ஒரே மனிதன் மரிக்கிறது நலமாக இருக்கும் என்று யூதர்களுக்கு ஆலோசனை சொன்னவன் இந்தக் காய்பாவே.
Now it was Qayapha who advised the Jewish leaders that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 ௧௫ சீமோன்பேதுருவும் வேறொரு சீடனும் இயேசுவிற்குப் பின்னே சென்றார்கள். அந்தச் சீடன் பிரதான ஆசாரியனுக்கு அறிமுகமானவனாக இருந்ததினால் இயேசுவுடன் பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய அரண்மனைக்குள் நுழைந்தான்.
Shimon Kipha followed Yeshua, as did another disciple. Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and entered in with Yeshua into the court of the high priest;
16 ௧௬ பேதுரு வாசலருகே வெளியே நின்றான். அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியனுக்கு அறிமுகமானவனாக இருந்த மற்றச் சீடன் வெளியே வந்து, வாசல்காக்கிறவர்களுடனே பேசி, பேதுருவை உள்ளே அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோனான்.
but Kipha was standing at the door outside. So the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to her who kept the door, and brought in Kipha.
17 ௧௭ அப்பொழுது வாசல்காக்கிற வேலைக்காரி பேதுருவைப் பார்த்து: நீயும் அந்த மனிதனுடைய சீடர்களில் ஒருவனல்லவா என்றாள். அவன்: நான் இல்லை என்றான்.
Then the maid who kept the door said to Kipha, "Are you also one of this man's disciples?" He said, "I am not."
18 ௧௮ குளிர்காலமாக இருந்ததினாலே அதிகாரிகளும் காவலர்களும் கரிநெருப்புண்டாக்கி, நின்று, குளிர்காய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தார்கள்; அவர்களோடு பேதுருவும் நின்று குளிர்காய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.
Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold. They were warming themselves. Kipha was with them, standing and warming himself.
19 ௧௯ பிரதான ஆசாரியன் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் அவருடைய சீடர்களைக்குறித்தும் போதகத்தைக்குறித்தும் விசாரித்தான்.
The high priest therefore asked Yeshua about his disciples, and about his teaching.
20 ௨0 இயேசு அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நான் வெளியரங்கமாக மக்களுடனே பேசினேன்; ஜெப ஆலயங்களிலேயும், யூதர்கள் எல்லோரும் கூடிவருகிற தேவாலயத்திலேயும் எப்பொழுதும் போதித்தேன்; அந்தரங்கத்திலே நான் ஒன்றும் பேசவில்லை.
Yeshua answered him, "I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where all the Jewish people come together. I said nothing in secret.
21 ௨௧ நீர் என்னிடத்தில் விசாரிக்க வேண்டியதென்ன? நான் சொன்னவைகளைக் கேட்டவர்களிடத்தில் விசாரியும்; நான் பேசினவைகளை அவர்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்களே என்றார்.
Why do you ask me? Ask those who have heard what I spoke to them; surely they know what I said."
22 ௨௨ இப்படி அவர் சொன்னபொழுது, அருகில் நின்ற காவலர்களில் ஒருவன்: பிரதான ஆசாரியனுக்கு இப்படியா உத்தரவு சொல்லுகிறது என்று, இயேசுவை ஒரு அறை அறைந்தான்.
When he had said this, one of the officers standing by slapped Yeshua with his hand, saying, "Do you answer the high priest like that?"
23 ௨௩ இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: நான் பேசியது, தவறாக இருந்தால் எது தவறு என்று காட்டு; நான் பேசியது சரியானால், என்னை ஏன் அடிக்கிறாய் என்றார்.
Yeshua answered him, "If I have spoken evil, testify of the evil; but if well, why do you beat me?"
Khanan sent him bound to Qayapha, the high priest.
25 ௨௫ சீமோன்பேதுரு நின்று குளிர்காய்ந்துகொண்டிருந்தான். அப்பொழுது சிலர் அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீயும் அவனுடைய சீடர்களில் ஒருவனல்லவா என்றார்கள். அவன்: நான் இல்லை என்று மறுதலித்தான்.
Now Shimon Kipha was standing and warming himself. They said therefore to him, "You are not also one of his disciples, are you?" He denied it, and said, "I am not."
26 ௨௬ பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரர்களில் பேதுரு, காதை வெட்டினவனுக்கு உறவினனாகிய ஒருவன் அவனைப் பார்த்து: நான் உன்னை அவனுடனே தோட்டத்திலே பார்க்கவில்லையா என்றான்.
One of the servants of the high priest, being a relative of him whose ear Kipha had cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with him?"
Kipha therefore denied it again, and immediately the rooster crowed.
28 ௨௮ அவர்கள் காய்பாவினிடத்திலிருந்து இயேசுவைத் தேசாதிபதியின் அரண்மனைக்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அப்பொழுது விடியற்காலமாக இருந்தது. தீட்டுப்படாமல் பஸ்கா உணவை உண்பதற்காக அவர்கள் தேசாதிபதியின் அரண்மனைக்குள் நுழையாமலிருந்தார்கள்.
They led Yeshua therefore from Qayapha into the Praetorium. It was early, and they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
29 ௨௯ ஆதலால் பிலாத்து அவர்களிடத்தில் வெளியே வந்து: இந்த மனிதன்மேல் என்ன குற்றஞ்சுமத்துகிறீர்கள் என்றான்.
Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, "What accusation do you bring against this man?"
30 ௩0 அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: இவன் குற்றவாளியாக இல்லாவிட்டால், இவனை உம்மிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கமாட்டோம் என்றார்கள்.
They answered him, "If this man weren't an evildoer, we would not have delivered him up to you."
31 ௩௧ அப்பொழுது பிலாத்து அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: இவனை நீங்களே கொண்டுபோய், உங்களுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி தீர்ப்பு செய்யுங்கள் என்றான். அதற்கு யூதர்கள்: ஒருவனையும் மரணத்திற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்க எங்களுக்கு அதிகாரமில்லை என்றார்கள்.
Pilate therefore said to them, "Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law." Therefore the Jewish leaders said to him, "It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,"
32 ௩௨ தாம் எந்தவிதமாக மரிக்கப்போகிறார் என்பதைக்குறித்து இயேசு குறிப்பாய்ச் சொல்லியிருந்த வார்த்தை நிறைவேறத்தக்கதாக இப்படிச் சொன்னார்கள்.
that the word of Yeshua might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
33 ௩௩ அப்பொழுது பிலாத்து மறுபடியும் அரண்மனைக்குள் நுழைந்து, இயேசுவை அழைத்து: நீ யூதர்களுடைய ராஜாவா என்று கேட்டான்.
Pilate therefore entered again into the Praetorium, called Yeshua, and said to him, "Are you the King of the Jews?"
34 ௩௪ இயேசு அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: நீராய் இப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறீரோ? அல்லது மற்றவர்கள் என்னைக்குறித்து இப்படி உமக்குச் சொன்னார்களோ என்றார்.
Yeshua answered him, "Do you say this by yourself, or did others tell you about me?"
35 ௩௫ பிலாத்து மறுமொழியாக: நான் யூதனா? உன் மக்களும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் உன்னை என்னிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்கள், நீ என்ன செய்தாய் என்றான்.
Pilate answered, "I'm not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me. What have you done?"
36 ௩௬ இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: என் ராஜ்யம் இந்த உலகத்திற்குரியதல்ல, என் ராஜ்யம் இந்த உலகத்திற்குரியதானால் நான் யூதர்களிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படாதபடிக்கு என் வேலைக்காரர்கள் போராடியிருப்பார்களே; இப்படியிருக்க என் ராஜ்யம் இந்த இடத்திற்குரியதல்ல என்றார்.
Yeshua answered, "My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would fight, that I would not be delivered to the Jewish leaders. But now my Kingdom is not from here."
37 ௩௭ அப்பொழுது பிலாத்து அவரைப் பார்த்து: அப்படியானால் நீ ராஜாவோ என்றான். இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: நீர் சொல்லுகிறபடி நான் ராஜாதான்; சத்தியத்தைக்குறித்துச் சாட்சிகொடுக்கவே நான் பிறந்தேன், இதற்காகவே இந்த உலகத்தில் வந்தேன்; சத்தியவான் எவனும் என் சத்தம் கேட்கிறான் என்றார்.
Pilate therefore said to him, "Are you a king then?" Yeshua answered, "You say that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice."
38 ௩௮ அதற்குப் பிலாத்து: சத்தியம் என்றால் என்ன என்றான். மறுபடியும் அவன் யூதர்களிடத்தில் வெளியே வந்து: நான் அவனிடத்தில் ஒரு குற்றமும் காணவில்லை.
Pilate said to him, "What is truth?" When he had said this, he went out again to the Jewish leaders, and said to them, "I find no basis for a charge against him.
39 ௩௯ பஸ்கா பண்டிகையில் நான் உங்களுக்கு ஒருவனை விடுதலை செய்கிற வழக்கம் இருக்கிறது; ஆகவே, யூதர்களுடைய ராஜாவை நான் உங்களுக்காக விடுதலை செய்ய உங்களுக்கு விருப்பம் இருக்கிறதா என்றான்.
But you have a custom, that I should release someone to you at the Passover. Therefore do you want me to release to you the King of the Jews?"
40 ௪0 அப்பொழுது: அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இவனை அல்ல, பரபாசை விடுதலை செய்யவேண்டும் என்று மீண்டும் சத்தமிட்டார்கள்; அந்தப் பரபாஸ் என்பவன் திருடனாக இருந்தான்.
Then they shouted again, saying, "Not this man, but Bar-Aba." Now Bar-Aba was a robber.
