எரேமியா 35
1 ௧ யோசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோயாக்கீம் என்னும் யூதா ராஜாவின் நாட்களில் எரேமியாவுக்குக் யெகோவாவால் உண்டான வார்த்தை:
The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, [in] the days of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah, saying,
2 ௨ நீ ரேகாபியருடைய வீட்டுக்குப்போய், அவர்களுடன் பேசி, அவர்களைக் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தின் அறைகளில் ஒன்றில் அழைத்துவந்து, அவர்களுக்குத் திராட்சைரசம் குடிக்கக்கொடு என்றார்.
Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak with them, and bring them into the house of the Lord, into one of the chambers, and offer them wine to drink.
3 ௩ அப்பொழுது நான் அபசினியாவின் மகனாகிய எரேமியாவுக்கு மகனான யசினியாவையும், அவனுடைய சகோதரரையும், அவனுடைய மகன்கள் எல்லோரையும், ரேகாபியருடைய குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரையும் அழைத்து;
Then I took Yaazanyah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Chabazzinyah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites;
4 ௪ யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தில் பிரபுக்களுடைய அறையின் அருகிலும், வாசலைக்காக்கிற சல்லூமின் மகனாகிய மாசெயாவினுடைய அறையின்மேலுமுள்ள இத்தலியாவின் மகனும் தேவனுடைய மனிதனுமாகிய ஆனான் என்பவனின் மகன்களுடைய அறையில் அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து,
And I brought them into the house of the Lord, into the chamber of the sons of Chanan, the son of Yigdalyahu, the man of God, which was alongside of the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Ma'aseyahu the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door:
5 ௫ திராட்சைரசத்தினால் நிரப்பப்பட்ட குடங்களையும் கிண்ணங்களையும் ரேகாபியருடைய முன்னோர்களைச் சேர்ந்த மக்களின் முன்னே வைத்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: திராட்சைரசம் குடியுங்கள் என்றேன்.
And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites goblets full of wine, and cups; and I said unto them, Drink wine.
6 ௬ அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நாங்கள் திராட்சைரசம் குடிக்கிறதில்லை; ஏனென்றால், ரேகாபின் மகனும் எங்களுடைய தகப்பனுமாகிய யோனதாப், நீங்கள் அந்நியர்களாய்த் தங்குகிற தேசத்தில் நீடித்திருப்பதற்கு,
But they said, We will not drink wine; for Jonadab the son of Rechab our father hath laid a charge on us, saying, Ye shall not drink wine, neither ye, nor your sons for ever;
7 ௭ நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் என்றென்றைக்கும் திராட்சைரசம் குடிக்காமலும், வீட்டைக் கட்டாமலும், விதையை விதைக்காமலும், திராட்சைத்தோட்டத்தை நாட்டாமலும், அதைக் கையாளாமலும், உங்களுடைய எல்லா நாட்களிலும் கூடாரங்களில் குடியிருப்பீர்களாக என்று எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.
Nor shall ye build any house, nor sow seed, nor plant a vineyard, nor have [any such]; but in tents shall ye dwell all your days, in order that ye may live many days on the face of the land where ye may sojourn.
8 ௮ அப்படியே எங்களுடைய எல்லா நாட்களிலும் நாங்களும் எங்கள் பெண்களும் எங்கள் மகன்களும் எங்கள் மகள்களும் திராட்சைரசம் குடிக்காமலும்,
And we have hearkened unto the voice of Jehonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he hath charged us, not to drink any wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, and our daughters;
9 ௯ நாங்கள் குடியிருக்க வீடுகளைக் கட்டாமலும், ரேகாபின் மகனாகிய எங்களுடைய தகப்பன் யோனதாபின் சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருக்கிறோம்; எங்களுக்குத் திராட்சைத்தோட்டமும் வயலும் விதைப்புமில்லை.
And not to build houses for our dwelling: and we never had any vineyard, or field, or seed;
10 ௧0 நாங்கள் கூடாரங்களில் குடியிருந்து, எங்கள் தகப்பனாகிய யோனதாப் எங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியெல்லாம் கீழ்ப்படிந்து செய்துவந்தோம்.
But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done in accordance with all that Jonadab our father commanded us.
11 ௧௧ ஆனாலும் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் இந்தத் தேசத்தில் வந்தபோது, நாம் கல்தேயருடைய படைக்கும் சீரியருடைய படைக்கும் தப்பிக்க எருசலேமுக்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொன்னோம்; அப்படியே எருசலேமில் தங்கியிருக்கிறோம் என்றார்கள்.
But it came to pass, when Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go into Jerusalem because of the army of the Chaldeans, and because of the army of the Syrians; and so we dwell at Jerusalem.
Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
13 ௧௩ இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், நீ போய், யூதாவின் மனிதரையும் எருசலேமின் மக்களையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, புத்தியை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறதில்லையோ என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Go and say to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord.
14 ௧௪ திராட்சைரசம் குடிக்காமல், ரேகாபின் மகனாகிய யோனதாப் தன் மகன்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட வார்த்தைகள் கைக்கொள்ளப்பட்டுவருகிறது; அவர்கள் இந்நாள்வரை அதைக் குடிக்காமல், தங்கள் தகப்பனுடைய கட்டளைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் நான் உங்களுக்கு ஏற்கனவே சொல்லிக்கொண்டேயிருந்தும், எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமற்போனீர்கள்.
Fulfilled are the words of Jehonadab the son of Rechab, that he hath commanded his sons not to drink wine: and they have not drunk any even unto this day; because they have obeyed the commandment of their father; but I, I have spoken unto you, early in the day and speaking; but ye have not hearkened unto me.
15 ௧௫ நீங்கள் அந்நிய தெய்வங்களை வணங்கி அவர்களைப் பின்பற்றாமல், அவனவன் தன் பொல்லாத வழியைவிட்டுத் திரும்பி, உங்கள் நடக்கையைச் சீர்திருத்துங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கும் உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கும் நான் கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் குடியிருப்பீர்கள் என்று சொல்லி, தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய என் ஊழியக்காரரையெல்லாம் நான் உங்களிடத்திற்கு ஏற்கனவே அனுப்பிக்கொண்டிருந்தும், நீங்கள் கேட்காமலும் எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமலும் போனீர்கள்.
And I have sent unto you all my servants the prophets, making them rise up early and sending them, saying, Do but return every man from his evil way, and amend your deeds, and go not after other gods to serve them: and so shall ye remain in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but ye have not inclined your ear, and have not hearkened unto me.
16 ௧௬ இப்போதும், ரேகாபின் மகனாகிய யோனதாபின் மக்கள் தங்கள் தகப்பன் தங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட கற்பனையைக் கைக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, இந்த மக்கள் எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமற் போனபடியினாலும்,
Because the sons of Jehonadab the son of Rechab have fulfilled the commandment of their father, which he hath commanded them; but as this people have not hearkened unto me:
17 ௧௭ இதோ, நான் அவர்களிடத்தில் பேசியும் அவர்கள் கேளாமலும், நான் அவர்களை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டும் அவர்கள் மறுஉத்திரவு கொடுக்காமலும் போனதினாலும், யூதாவின்மேலும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்கள் அனைவரின்மேலும் நான் அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சொன்ன எல்லாத் தீங்கையும் வரச்செய்வேன் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனும் சேனைகளின் தேவனுமாகிய யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the evil that I have spoken concerning them; because I spoke unto them, but they would not hear; and I called unto them, but they would not answer.
18 ௧௮ பின்னும் எரேமியா ரேகாபியருடைய குடும்பத்தாரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் தகப்பனாகிய யோனதாபின் கட்டளைக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து, அவனுடைய கற்பனைகளையெல்லாம் கைக்கொண்டு, அவன் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியெல்லாம் செய்துவந்தீர்களென்று, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
And unto the house of the Rechabites said Jeremiah, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Whereas ye have hearkened to the charge of Jonadab your father, and have kept all his commandments, and have done in accordance with all that he hath commanded you:
19 ௧௯ ஆகவே எல்லா நாட்களிலும் எனக்கு முன்பாக நிற்கத் தகுதியான மனிதன் ரேகாபின் மகனாகிய யோனதாபுக்கு இல்லாமற்போவதில்லையென்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, There shall not be wanting unto Jehonadab the son of Rechab a man to stand before me at all times.
