ஆதியாகமம் 9
1 ௧ பின்பு தேவன் நோவாவையும், அவனுடைய மகன்களையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து: “நீங்கள் பலுகிப் பெருகி, பூமியை நிரப்புங்கள்.
And God blessed Noe and his sons, and said to them, Increase and multiply, and fill the earth and have dominion over it.
2 ௨ உங்களைப்பற்றிய பயமும் அச்சமும் பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்து மிருகங்களுக்கும், ஆகாயத்திலுள்ள அனைத்துப் பறவைகளுக்கும் உண்டாயிருக்கும்; பூமியிலே நடமாடுகிற அனைத்தும், சமுத்திரத்தின் மீன்வகைகள் அனைத்தும் உங்கள் கையில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன.
And the dread and the fear of you shall be upon all the wild beasts of the earth, on all the birds of the sky, and on all things moving upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea, I have placed them under your power.
3 ௩ நடமாடுகிற உயிரினங்கள் அனைத்தும் உங்களுக்கு உணவாக இருக்கட்டும்; பசுமையான தாவரங்களை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்ததுபோல, அவைகள் எல்லாவற்றையும் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன்.
And every reptile which is living shall be to you for meat, I have given all things to you as the green herbs.
But flesh with blood of life you shall not eat.
5 ௫ உங்களுக்கு உயிராயிருக்கிற உங்கள் இரத்தத்திற்காகப் பழிவாங்குவேன்; அனைத்து உயிரினங்களிடத்திலும் மனிதனிடத்திலும் பழிவாங்குவேன்; மனிதனுடைய உயிருக்காக அவனவன் சகோதரனிடத்தில் பழிவாங்குவேன்.
For your blood of your lives will I require at the hand of all wild beasts, and I will require the life of man at the hand of [his] brother man.
6 ௬ மனிதன் தேவசாயலில் உண்டாக்கப்பட்டதால், மனிதனுடைய இரத்தத்தை எவன் சிந்துகிறானோ, அவனுடைய இரத்தம் மனிதனாலே சிந்தப்படட்டும்.
He that sheds man's blood, instead of that blood shall his own be shed, for in the image of God I made man.
But do you increase and multiply, and fill the earth, and have dominion over it.
And God spoke to Noe, and to his sons with him, saying,
And behold I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you,
10 ௧0 உங்களுடன் கப்பலிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட அனைத்து உயிரினங்கள்முதல் இனிப் பூமியில் பிறக்கப்போகிற அனைத்து உயிரினங்கள்வரை பறவைகளோடும், நாட்டுமிருகங்களோடும், உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கிற பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்து காட்டுமிருகங்களோடும் என் உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன்.
and with every living creature with you, of birds and of beasts, and with all the wild beasts of the earth, as many as are with you, of all that come out of the ark.
11 ௧௧ இனி உயிருள்ளவைகளெல்லாம் வெள்ளப்பெருக்கினால் அழிக்கப்படுவதில்லையென்றும், பூமியை அழிக்க இனி வெள்ளப்பெருக்கு உண்டாவதில்லையென்றும், உங்களோடு என் உடன்படிக்கையை ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன்” என்றார்.
And I will establish my covenant with you and all flesh shall not any more die by the water of the flood, and there shall no more be a flood of water to destroy all the earth.
12 ௧௨ மேலும் தேவன்: “எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும், உங்களிடத்தில் இருக்கும் அனைத்து உயிரினங்களுக்கும், நித்திய தலை முறைகளுக்கென்று நான் செய்கிற உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளமாக:
And the Lord God said to Noe, This [is] the sign of the covenant which I set between me and you, and between every living creature which is with you for perpetual generations.
13 ௧௩ நான் எனது வானவில்லை மேகத்தில் வைத்தேன்; அது எனக்கும் பூமிக்கும் உண்டான உடன்படிக்கைக்கு அடையாளமாக இருக்கும்.
I set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of covenant between me and the earth.
And it shall be when I gather clouds upon the earth, that my bow shall be seen in the cloud.
15 ௧௫ அப்பொழுது எல்லா உயிரினங்களையும் அழிக்க இனி தண்ணீரானது வெள்ளமாகப் பெருகாதபடி, எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் மாம்சமான அனைத்து உயிரினங்களுக்கும் உண்டான என் உடன்படிக்கையை நினைவுகூருவேன்.
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you, and between every living soul in all flesh, and there shall no longer be water for a deluge, so as to blot out all flesh.
16 ௧௬ அந்த வானவில் மேகத்தில் தோன்றும்போது, தேவனுக்கும் பூமியின்மேலுள்ள அனைத்துவித உயிரினங்களுக்கும் உண்டான நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையை நான் நினைவுகூரும்படி அதைப் பார்ப்பேன்.
And my bow shall be in the cloud, and I will look to remember the everlasting covenant between me and the earth, and between [every] living soul in all flesh, which is upon the earth.
17 ௧௭ இது எனக்கும், பூமியின்மேலுள்ள மாம்சமான அனைத்திற்கும் நான் ஏற்படுத்தின உடன்படிக்கையின் அடையாளம்” என்று நோவாவிடம் சொன்னார்.
And God said to Noe, This [is] the sign of the covenant, which I have made between me and all flesh, which is upon the earth.
18 ௧௮ கப்பலிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட நோவாவின் மகன்கள் சேம், காம், யாப்பேத் என்பவர்களே. காம் கானானுக்குத் தகப்பன்.
Now the sons of Noe which came out of the ark, were Sem, Cham, Japheth. And Cham was father of Chanaan.
These three are the sons of Noe, of these were men scattered over all the earth.
And Noe began to be a husbandman, and he planted a vineyard.
And he drank of the wine, and was drunk, and was naked in his house.
22 ௨௨ அப்பொழுது கானானுக்குத் தகப்பனாகிய காம், தன் தகப்பனுடைய நிர்வாணத்தைக் கண்டு, வெளியில் இருந்த தன் சகோதரர்கள் இருவருக்கும் சொன்னான்.
And Cham the father of Chanaan saw the nakedness of his father, and he went out and told his two brothers without.
23 ௨௩ அப்பொழுது சேமும், யாப்பேத்தும் ஒரு ஆடையை எடுத்துத் தங்களுடைய தோள்களின்மேல் போட்டுக்கொண்டு, பின்முகமாக வந்து, தங்களுடைய தகப்பனின் நிர்வாணத்தை மூடினார்கள்; அவர்கள் எதிர்முகமாகப் போகாததால், தங்களுடைய தகப்பனின் நிர்வாணத்தைப் பார்க்கவில்லை.
And Sem and Japheth having taken a garment, put it on both their backs and went backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their face [was] backward, and they saw not the nakedness of their father.
And Noe recovered from the wine, and knew all that his younger son had done to him.
And he said, Cursed be the servant Chanaan, a slave shall he be to his brethren.
And he said, Blessed [be] the Lord God of Sem, and Chanaan shall be his bond-servant.
27 ௨௭ யாப்பேத்தை தேவன் பெருகச்செய்வார்; அவன் சேமுடைய கூடாரங்களில் குடியிருப்பான்; கானான் அவனுக்கு அடிமையாக இருப்பான்” என்றான்.
May God make room for Japheth, and let him dwell in the habitations of Sem, and let Chanaan be his servant.
And Noe lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.
And all the days of Noe were nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.
