ஆதியாகமம் 40
1 ௧ இந்த சம்பவங்களுக்குப்பின்பு, எகிப்தின் ராஜாவுக்கு பானபாத்திரக்காரனும் அப்பம் சுடுகிறவனும் எகிப்தின் ராஜாவாகிய தங்கள் ஆண்டவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் குற்றம் செய்தார்கள்.
And it came to pass after these things, [that] the butler of the king of Egypt and [his] baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
2 ௨ பார்வோன் தன் பானபாத்திரக்காரர்களின் தலைவனும் அப்பம் சுடுகிறவர்களின் தலைவனுமாகிய இவ்விரண்டு அதிகாரிகள்மேல் கடுங்கோபம்கொண்டு,
And Pharaoh was wroth with two [of] his officers, with the chief of the butlers, and with the chief of the bakers.
3 ௩ அவர்களை யோசேப்பு வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த இடமும் காவலாளிகளின் அதிபதியின் வீடுமாகிய சிறைச்சாலையிலே காவலில் வைத்தான்.
And he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph [was] bound.
4 ௪ காவலாளிகளின் அதிபதி அவர்களை விசாரிக்கும்படி யோசேப்பின் வசத்தில் ஒப்புவித்தான்; அவன் அவர்களை விசாரித்துவந்தான்; அவர்கள் அநேகநாட்கள் காவலில் இருந்தார்கள்.
And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them; and they continued a season in custody.
5 ௫ எகிப்தின் ராஜாவுக்குப் பானபாத்திரக்காரனும் அப்பம் சுடுகிறவனுமாகிய அந்த இரண்டுபேரும் சிறைச்சாலையில் இருக்கும்போது, ஒரே இரவில் வெவ்வேறு அர்த்தமுள்ள கனவு கண்டார்கள்.
And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream; the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who [were] bound in the prison.
And Joseph came to them in the morning, and looked upon them, and behold, they [were] sad.
7 ௭ அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் எஜமானுடைய வீட்டில் தன்னோடு காவலில் வைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த பார்வோனுடைய அதிகாரிகளை நோக்கி: “உங்கள் முகங்கள் இன்று துக்கமாயிருக்கிறது என்ன” என்று கேட்டான்.
And he asked Pharaoh's officers that [were] with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Why look ye [so] sad to-day?
8 ௮ அதற்கு அவர்கள்: “கனவு கண்டோம், அதற்கு அர்த்தம் சொல்லுகிறவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை” என்றார்கள். அதற்கு யோசேப்பு: “கனவுக்கு அர்த்தம் சொல்லுவது தேவனுக்குரியதல்லவா? அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் சொல்லுங்கள்” என்றான்.
And they said to him, We have dreamed a dream, and [there is] no interpreter of it. And Joseph said to them, [Do] not interpretations [belong] to God? tell me [them], I pray you.
9 ௯ அப்பொழுது பானபாத்திரக்காரர்களின் தலைவன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: “என் கனவிலே ஒரு திராட்சைச்செடி எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்கக்கண்டேன்.
And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine [was] before me;
10 ௧0 அந்தத் திராட்சைச்செடியிலே மூன்று கொடிகள் இருந்தது; அது துளிர்க்கிறதாயிருந்தது; அதில் பூக்கள் மலர்ந்திருந்தது; அதின் குலைகள் பழுத்த பழங்களாயிருந்தது.
And on the vine [were] three branches: and it [was] as though it budded, [and] its blossoms shot forth; and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes:
11 ௧௧ பார்வோனுடைய பாத்திரம் என்னுடைய கையிலே இருந்தது; நான் அந்தப் பழங்களைப் பறித்து, அவைகளைப் பார்வோனுடைய பாத்திரத்தில் பிழிந்து, அந்தப் பாத்திரத்தைப் பார்வோனுடைய கையிலே கொடுத்தேன்” என்று தன் கனவைச் சொன்னான்.
And Pharaoh's cup [was] in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
And Joseph said to him, This [is] the interpretation of it: The three branches [are] three days;
13 ௧௩ மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள்ளே பார்வோன் உன் தலையை உயர்த்தி, உன்னை மறுபடியும் உன் நிலையிலே நிறுத்துவார்; முன்னே அவருக்கு பானம் கொடுத்துவந்த வழக்கத்தின்படி பார்வோனின் பாத்திரத்தை அவருடைய கையிலே கொடுப்பாய்;
Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head, and restore thee to thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
14 ௧௪ இதுதான் அதனுடைய அர்த்தம் என்று சொன்னதுமல்லாமல் நீ வாழ்வடைந்திருக்கும்போது, என்னை நினைத்து, என்மேல் தயவுவைத்து, என் காரியத்தைப் பார்வோனுக்குத் தெரிவித்து, இந்த இடத்திலிருந்து என்னை விடுதலையாக்கவேண்டும்.
But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and show kindness to me, I pray thee, and make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
15 ௧௫ நான் எபிரெயர்களுடைய தேசத்திலிருந்து களவாகக் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டேன்; என்னை இந்தக் காவல்கிடங்கில் வைக்கும்படி நான் இந்த இடத்தில் ஒன்றும் செய்யவில்லை” என்றும் சொன்னான்.
For indeed I was stolen away from the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
16 ௧௬ அர்த்தம் நன்றாயிருக்கிறது என்று அப்பம் சுடுகிறவர்களின் தலைவன் கண்டு, யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: “நானும் என் கனவில் மூன்று வெள்ளைக் கூடைகள் என் தலையின்மேல் இருக்கக்கண்டேன்;
When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph, I also [was] in my dream, and behold, [I had] three white baskets on my head:
17 ௧௭ மேற்கூடையிலே பார்வோனுக்காக சமைக்கப்பட்ட அனைத்துவித பலகாரங்களிலும் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சம் இருந்தது; என் தலையின் மேற்கூடையில் இருந்தவைகளைப் பறவைகள் வந்து சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டது” என்றான்.
And in the uppermost basket [there was] of all manner of bake-meats for Pharaoh; and the birds ate them out of the basket upon my head.
And Joseph answered, and said, This [is] the interpretation of it: The three baskets [are] three days:
19 ௧௯ இன்னும் மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள்ளே பார்வோன் உன் தலையை உயர்த்தி, உன்னை மரத்திலே தூக்கிலிடுவார்; அப்பொழுது பறவைகள் உன் மாம்சத்தைத் தின்னும், இதுதான் அதனுடைய அர்த்தம்” என்று சொன்னான்.
Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
20 ௨0 மூன்றாம் நாள் பார்வோனுடைய பிறந்த நாளாயிருந்தது; அவன் தன் வேலைக்காரர்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் விருந்துசெய்து, பானபாத்திரக்காரர்களுடைய தலைவனையும் அப்பம் சுடுகிறவர்களின் தலைவனையும் தன் உத்தியோகஸ்தரின் நடுவே நிறுத்தி,
And it came to pass the third day, [which was] Pharaoh's birth-day, that he made a feast to all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
21 ௨௧ பானபாத்திரக்காரர்களின் தலைவனைப் பானம் கொடுக்கிற தன் உத்தியோகத்திலே மறுபடியும் வைத்தான்; அந்தப்படியே அவன் பார்வோனுடைய கையிலே பாத்திரத்தைக் கொடுத்தான்.
And he restored the chief butler to his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:
22 ௨௨ அப்பம் சுடுகிறவர்களின் தலைவனையோ தூக்கிலிட்டான். யோசேப்பு அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்ன அர்த்தத்தின்படியே சம்பவித்தது.
But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.
