ஆதியாகமம் 22
1 ௧ இந்தக் காரியங்கள் நடந்தபின்பு, தேவன் ஆபிரகாமைச் சோதித்தார்; எப்படியென்றால், அவர் அவனை நோக்கி: “ஆபிரகாமே” என்றார்; அவன்: “இதோ அடியேன்” என்றான்.
And it came to pass after these things, that God tempted Abraham, and said to him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, [here] I [am].
2 ௨ அப்பொழுது அவர்: “உன் மகனும், உனது ஒரேமகனும், உனக்குப் பிரியமான மகனுமாகிய ஈசாக்கை நீ இப்பொழுது அழைத்துக்கொண்டு, மோரியா தேசத்திற்குப் போய், அங்கே நான் உனக்குச் சொல்லும் மலைகள் ஒன்றின்மேல் அவனைத் தகனபலியாகப் பலியிடு” என்றார்.
And he said, Take now thy son, thy only [son] Isaac, whom thou lovest, and go into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will name to thee.
3 ௩ ஆபிரகாம் அதிகாலையில் எழுந்து, தன் கழுதையின்மேல் சேணங்கட்டி, தன் வேலைக்காரர்களில் இரண்டுபேரையும் தன் மகன் ஈசாக்கையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, தகனபலிக்கு விறகுகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு, தேவன் தனக்குக் குறித்திருந்த இடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்.
And Abraham rose early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and cleft the wood for the burnt-offering, and rose and went to the place which God had named to him.
Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.
5 ௫ அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் தன் வேலைக்காரர்களை நோக்கி: “நீங்கள் கழுதையுடன் இங்கே காத்திருங்கள், நானும் சிறுவனும் அந்த இடத்திற்குப் போய், தொழுதுகொண்டு, உங்களிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பி வருவோம்” என்றான்.
And Abraham said to his young men, Abide you here with the ass, and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and return to you.
6 ௬ ஆபிரகாம் தகனபலிக்கு விறகுகளை எடுத்து, தன் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கின்மேல் வைத்து, தன் கையிலே நெருப்பையும் கத்தியையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டான்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் சேர்ந்துபோனார்கள்.
And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid [it] upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife: and they went both of them together.
7 ௭ அப்பொழுது ஈசாக்கு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஆபிரகாமை நோக்கி: “என் தகப்பனே” என்றான்; அதற்கு அவன்: “என் மகனே, இதோ, இருக்கிறேன்” என்றான்; அப்பொழுது அவன்: “இதோ, நெருப்பும் விறகும் இருக்கிறது, தகனபலிக்கு ஆட்டுக்குட்டி எங்கே என்றான்”.
And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, here [am] I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where [is] the lamb for a burnt-offering?
8 ௮ அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம்: “என் மகனே, தேவன் தகனபலிக்கான ஆட்டுக்குட்டியை அவரே கொடுப்பார்” என்றான்; அப்புறம் இருவரும் சேர்ந்துபோய்,
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt-offering: so they went both of them together.
9 ௯ தேவன் அவனுக்குச் சொல்லியிருந்த இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள்; அங்கே ஆபிரகாம் ஒரு பலிபீடத்தை உண்டாக்கி, விறகுகளை அடுக்கி, தன் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கைக் கட்டி, அந்தப் பலிபீடத்தில் அடுக்கிய விறகுகளின்மேல் அவனைப் படுக்கவைத்தான்.
And they came to the place which God had named to him; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order; and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 ௧௧ அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனானவர் வானத்திலிருந்து, “ஆபிரகாமே, ஆபிரகாமே என்று கூப்பிட்டார்; அவன்: இதோ, அடியேன் என்றான்.
And the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham. And he said, Here [am] I.
12 ௧௨ அப்பொழுது அவர்: “சிறுவன்மேல் உன் கையைப் போடாதே, அவனுக்கு ஒன்றும் செய்யாதே; நீ அவனை உன் மகன் என்றும், உனது ஒரே மகன் என்றும் பார்க்காமல் எனக்காக ஒப்புக்கொடுத்ததால் நீ தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறவன் என்று இப்பொழுது தெரிந்துகொண்டேன்” என்றார்.
And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing to him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld from me thy son, thy only [son].
13 ௧௩ ஆபிரகாம் தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்க்கும்போது, இதோ, தனக்குப் பின்புறமாகப் புதரிலே தன் கொம்புகள் சிக்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த ஒரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவைக் கண்டான்; அப்பொழுது ஆபிரகாம் போய், கடாவைப் பிடித்து, அதைத் தன் மகனுக்குப் பதிலாகத் தகனபலியிட்டான்.
And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind [him] a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him for a burnt-offering in the stead of his son.
14 ௧௪ ஆபிரகாம் அந்த இடத்திற்கு “யேகோவாயீரே என்று பெயரிட்டான்; அதனால் யெகோவாவுடைய மலையில் பார்த்துக்கொள்ளப்படும்” என்று இந்த நாள்வரைக்கும் சொல்லப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said [to] this day, In the mount of the LORD it will be seen.
And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven the second time,
16 ௧௬ “நீ உன் மகன் என்றும், உனது ஒரேமகன் என்றும் பார்க்காமல் அவனை ஒப்புக்கொடுத்து இந்தக் காரியத்தைச் செய்ததால்;
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thy only [son]:
17 ௧௭ நான் உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்து, உன் சந்ததியை வானத்திலுள்ள நட்சத்திரங்களைப்போலவும், கடற்கரை மணலைப்போலவும் பெருகவே பெருகச்செய்வேன் என்றும், உன் சந்ததியார் தங்கள் எதிரிகளின் வாசல்களைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக் கொள்ளுவார்கள் என்றும்,
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which [is] on the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
18 ௧௮ நீ என்னுடைய சொல்லுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்ததால், உன் சந்ததிக்குள் பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்து தேசங்களும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும் என்றும் என்பேரில் ஆணையிட்டேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்றார்.
And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed: because thou hast obeyed my voice.
19 ௧௯ ஆபிரகாம் தன் வேலைக்காரர்களிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவந்தான்; அவர்கள் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு, ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து பெயெர்செபாவுக்குப் போனார்கள்; ஆபிரகாம் பெயெர்செபாவிலே குடியிருந்தான்.
So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beer-sheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beer-sheba.
20 ௨0 இந்தக் காரியங்கள் நடந்தபின்பு, ஒருவன் ஆபிரகாமிடத்தில் வந்து: “மில்க்காளும் உன் சகோதரனாகிய நாகோருக்கு குழந்தைகளைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்;
And it came to pass after these things, that it was told to Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also borne children to thy brother Nahor;
21 ௨௧ அவர்கள் யாரென்றால், முதற்பிறந்தவனான ஊத்ஸ், அவனுடைய தம்பியாகிய பூஸ், ஆராமுக்குத் தகப்பனாகிய கேமுவேல்,
Huz his first-born, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
22 ௨௨ கேசேத், ஆசோ, பில்தாஸ், இத்லாப், பெத்துவேல் என்பவர்கள்; பெத்துவேல் ரெபெக்காளைப் பெற்றெடுத்தான்” என்று அறிவித்தான்.
And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah bore to Nahor Abraham's brother.
24 ௨௪ ரேயுமாள் என்று பெயர்கொண்ட அவனுடைய மறுமனையாட்டியும், தேபா, காகாம், தாகாஸ், மாகா என்பவர்களைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்.
And his concubine, whose name [was] Reumah, she bore also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.
