எஸ்றா 7
1 ௧ இந்தக் காரியங்களுக்குப்பின்பு, செராயாவின் மகனாகிய எஸ்றா, பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா அரசாளுகிற காலத்திலே பாபிலோனிலிருந்து வந்தான்; இந்தச் செராயா அசரியாவின் மகன், இவன் இல்க்கியாவின் மகன்,
Now after this, during the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra came up from Babylon. Ezra's ancestors were Seraiah, Azariah, Hilkiah,
Shallum, Zadok, Ahitub,
Amariah, Azariah, Meraioth,
Zerahiah, Uzzi, Bukki,
5 ௫ இவன் அபிசுவாவின் மகன், இவன் பினெகாசின் மகன், இவன் எலெயாசாரின் மகன், இவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியனான ஆரோனின் மகன்.
Abishua, Phinehas, Eleazar, who was son of Aaron the high priest.
6 ௬ இந்த எஸ்றா இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா அருளிய மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலே தேறின வேதபாரகனாக இருந்தான்; அவனுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய கரம் அவன்மேல் இருந்ததால், அவன் கேட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் ராஜா அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.
Ezra came up from Babylon and he was a skilled scribe in the law of Moses that Yahweh, the God of Israel, had given. The king gave him anything he asked since the hand of Yahweh was with him.
7 ௭ அவனுடன் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களிலும், ஆசாரியர்களிலும், லேவியர்களிலும், பாடகர்களிலும், வாசல் காவலாளர்களிலும், நிதனீமியரிலும், சிலர் அர்தசஷ்டா ராஜாவின் ஏழாம் வருடத்திலே எருசலேமுக்குப் போனார்கள்.
Some of the descendants of Israel and the priests, Levites, temple singers, gatekeepers, and those assigned to serve in the temple also went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of King Artaxerxes.
8 ௮ ஐந்தாம் மாதத்தில் அவன் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தான்; அது அந்த ராஜாவின் ஏழாவது வருடத்தின் ஆட்சியாக இருந்தது.
He arrived in Jerusalem in the fifth month of the same year.
9 ௯ முதலாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே அவன் பாபிலோனிலிருந்து பயணமாகப் புறப்பட்டு, ஐந்தாம் மாதம் முதல்தேதியிலே தன் தேவனுடைய தயவுள்ள கரம் தன்மேலிருந்ததால் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தான்.
He left Babylon on the first day of the first month. It was on the first day of the fifth month that he arrived in Jerusalem, since the good hand of God was with him.
10 ௧0 யெகோவாவுடைய வேதத்தை ஆராயவும், அதன்படி செய்யவும், இஸ்ரவேலிலே கட்டளைகளையும் நீதிநியாயங்களையும் உபதேசிக்கவும், எஸ்றா தன் இருதயத்தைப் பக்குவப்படுத்தியிருந்தான்.
Ezra had established his heart to study, carry out, and teach the statutes and decrees of the law of Yahweh.
11 ௧௧ யெகோவாவுடைய கற்பனைகளின் வார்த்தைகளிலும், அவர் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளிலும், படித்துத் தேறின வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனுக்கு, ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா கொடுத்த கடிதத்தின் நகலாவது:
This was the decree that King Artaxerxes gave Ezra the priest and scribe of Yahweh's commandments and statutes for Israel:
12 ௧௨ ராஜாதிராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைப் போதிக்கிற உத்தம வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியனுக்குப் பூரண சமாதானமுண்டாக வாழ்த்தி எழுதுகிறது என்னவென்றால்:
“The King of kings Artaxerxes, to the priest Ezra, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven:
13 ௧௩ நம்முடைய ராஜ்ஜியத்தில் இருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களிலும், அதின் ஆசாரியர்களிலும், லேவியர்களிலும், உன்னுடன் எருசலேமுக்குப் போக விருப்பமாயிருக்கிற அனைவரும் போகலாம் என்று நம்மாலே உத்திரவிடப்படுகிறது.
I am ordering that anyone from Israel in my kingdom along with their priests and Levites who desires to go to Jerusalem, may go with you.
14 ௧௪ நீ உன் கையிலிருக்கிற உன் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படி, யூதாவையும் எருசலேமையும் விசாரித்து நடத்தவும்,
I, the king, and my seven counselors, send you all out to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem according to God's law, which is in your hand.
15 ௧௫ ராஜாவும் அவருடைய மந்திரிகளும் எருசலேமில் குடியிருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனுக்கு மனவிருப்பத்துடன் கொடுத்த வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும்,
You are to bring the silver and gold that they have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem.
16 ௧௬ பாபிலோன் தேசமெங்கும் உனக்குக் கிடைக்கும் எல்லா வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும், உன்னுடைய மக்களும் ஆசாரியர்களும் எருசலேமிலுள்ள தங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கென்று மனஉற்சாகமாகக் கொடுக்கும் காணிக்கைகளையும் நீ கொண்டுபோகவும், நீ ராஜாவினாலும் அவருடைய ஏழு மந்திரிகளாலும் அனுப்பப்படுகிறாய்.
Freely give all the silver and gold that all of Babylon has given along with what is freely offered by the people and the priests for the house of God in Jerusalem.
17 ௧௭ ஆகையால் அந்தப் பணத்தால் நீ தாமதமின்றி காளைகளையும், ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும், ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், அவைகளுக்குரிய போஜனபலிகளையும், பானபலிகளையும் வாங்கி, அவைகளை எருசலேமிலுள்ள உங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்து பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் செலுத்துவாயாக.
So buy in full the oxen, rams and lambs, and grain and drink offerings. Offer them on the altar that is in the house of your God in Jerusalem.
18 ௧௮ மீதியான வெள்ளியையும் பொன்னையும்கொண்டு செய்யவேண்டியது இன்னதென்று உனக்கும் உன் சகோதரர்களுக்கும் நலமாகத் தோன்றுகிறபடி அதை உங்கள் தேவனுடைய சித்தத்தின்படியே செய்யுங்கள்.
Do with the rest of the silver and gold whatever seems good to you and your brothers, to please your God.
19 ௧௯ உன் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஆராதனைக்காக உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பொருட்களையும் நீ எருசலேமின் தேவனுடைய சந்நிதியில் ஒப்புவிக்கவேண்டும்.
Place the objects that were freely given to you before him for the service of the house of your God in Jerusalem.
20 ௨0 பின்னும் உன் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு அவசியமாகக் கொடுக்கவேண்டியிருப்பதை, நீ ராஜாவின் கஜானாவிலிருந்து வாங்கிக் கொடுப்பாயாக.
Anything else that is needed for the house of your God that you require, take its cost from my treasury.
21 ௨௧ நதிக்கு அப்புறத்திலிருக்கிற அனைத்து பொருளாளர்களுக்கும் அர்தசஷ்டா என்னும் ராஜாவாகிய நாம் இடுகிற கட்டளை என்னவென்றால், பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தைப் போதிக்கும் வேதபாரகனாகிய எஸ்றா என்னும் ஆசாரியன், நூறு தாலந்து வெள்ளி, நூறுகலம் கோதுமை, நூறுகலம் திராட்சைரசம், நூறுகலம் எண்ணெய்வரை, உங்களிடம் கேட்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும்,
I, King Artaxerxes, make a decree to all the treasurers in the Province Beyond the River, that anything that Ezra asks from you should be given in full,
up to one hundred silver talents, one hundred cors of grain, one hundred baths of wine, and one hundred baths of oil, also salt without limit.
23 ௨௩ பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய கற்பனையின்படியே, எது தேவையாயிருக்குமோ அதுவெல்லாம் பரலோகத்தின் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு கவனமாக செலுத்தப்படவும் வேண்டும்; ராஜாவும் அவருடைய மகன்களும் ஆளும் தேசத்தின்மேல் கடுங்கோபம் ஏன் வரவேண்டும்.
Anything that comes from the decree of the God of Heaven, do it with devotion for his house. For why should his wrath come upon the kingdom of me and my sons?
24 ௨௪ பின்னும் ஆசாரியர்களும், லேவியர்களும், பாடகர்களும், வாசல் காவலாளர்களும், நிதனீமியரும், தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் பணிவிடைக்காரருமான ஒருவன்மேலும் எந்தவொரு வரியையும் சுமத்தக்கூடாதென்று அவர்களைக்குறித்து உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துகிறோம்.
We are informing them about you not to impose any tribute or taxes on any of the priests, Levites, musicians, gatekeepers, or on the people assigned to the service of the temple and servants of the house of this God.
25 ௨௫ மேலும் நதிக்கு மறுபுறத்திலிருந்து உன் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணங்களை அறிந்த அனைத்து மக்களையும் நியாயம் விசாரிக்கத் தகுதியுள்ள அறிஞர்களையும், நியாயாதிபதிகளையும், எஸ்றாவாகிய நீ உன்னிலுள்ள உன் தேவனுடைய ஞானத்தின்படியே ஏற்படுத்துவாயாக; அந்தப் பிரமாணங்களை அறியாதவர்களுக்கு அவைகளைப் போதிக்கவும் வேண்டும்.
Ezra, with the wisdom that God has given you, you must appoint judges and magistrates to judge all the people in the Province Beyond the River, and to serve all who know the laws of your God. You must also teach those who do not know the law.
26 ௨௬ உன் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியேயும், ராஜாவினுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியேயும் செய்யாதவனெவனும் உடனே மரணத்துக்காகிலும், நாடு கடத்தப்படுதலுக்காகிலும், அபராதத்துக்காகிலும், காவலுக்காகிலும் தீர்க்கப்பட்டுத் தண்டிக்கப்படக்கடவன் என்று எழுதியிருந்தது.
Punish anyone who does not fully obey God's law or the king's law, whether by death, banishment, confiscation of their goods, or imprisonment.
27 ௨௭ எருசலேமிலுள்ள யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தை அலங்கரிக்க, இப்படிப்பட்ட யோசனையை ராஜாவின் இருதயத்தில் அருளி, ராஜாவுக்கும் அவருடைய மந்திரிகளுக்கும் ராஜாவின் கைக்குள்ளான பலத்த எல்லா மகாப்பிரபுக்களுக்கும் முன்பாக எனக்கு தயவு கிடைக்கச் செய்த எங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.
Praise Yahweh, our ancestors' God, who placed all this into the king's heart to glorify Yahweh's house in Jerusalem,
28 ௨௮ அப்படியே என் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுடைய கரம் என்மேல் இருந்ததால் நான் திடன்கொண்டு, இஸ்ரவேலில் சில தலைவர்களை என்னுடன் வரும்படி சேர்த்துக்கொண்டேன்.
and who extended covenant faithfulness to me before the king, his counselors, and all his powerful officials. I have been strengthened by the hand of Yahweh my God, and I gathered leaders from Israel to go with me.
