பிரசங்கி 4

1 ௧ இதற்குப்பின்பு நான் சூரியனுக்குக் கீழே செய்யப்படும் கொடுமைகளையெல்லாம் சிந்தித்துப்பார்த்தேன்; இதோ, ஒடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் கண்ணீரைக் கண்டேன், அவர்களைத் தேற்றுபவர்கள் இல்லை; ஒடுக்குகிறவர்களிடம் பெலம் இருந்தது, அப்படியிருந்தும் தேற்றுபவர்கள் இல்லை.

and to return: again I and to see: see [obj] all [the] oppression which to make: do underneath: under [the] sun and behold tears [the] oppression and nothing to/for them to be sorry: comfort and from hand: themselves to oppress them strength and nothing to/for them to be sorry: comfort

2 ௨ ஆதலால் இன்னும் உயிரோடு இருந்து பிழைக்கிறவர்களைவிட முன்பே வெகுநாட்கள் வாழ்ந்து மரித்தவர்களையே பாக்கியவான்கள் என்றேன்.

3 ௩ இந்த இரண்டு கூட்டத்தார்களுடைய நிலைமையைவிட இன்னும் பிறக்காதவனுடைய நிலைமையே சிறப்பானது; அவன் சூரியனுக்குக் கீழே செய்யப்படும் தீய செயல்களைக் காணவில்லையே.

and pleasant from two their [obj] which still not to be which not to see: see [obj] [the] deed [the] bad: evil which to make: do underneath: under [the] sun

4 ௪ மனிதன் படும் எல்லா பிரயாசமும், பயன்படும் எல்லா செயல்களும், அயலானுடைய பொறாமைக்கு ஏதுவாக இருக்கிறதை நான் கண்டேன்; இதுவும் மாயையும், மனதிற்கு கலக்கமாகவும் இருக்கிறது.

and to see: see I [obj] all trouble and [obj] all skill [the] deed: work for he/she/it jealousy man: anyone from neighbor his also this vanity and longing spirit: breath

5 ௫ மூடன் தன்னுடைய கைகளைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டு, தன்னைத்தானே அழித்துக்கொள்கிறான்.

6 ௬ வருத்தத்தோடும் மனக்கலக்கத்தோடும் இரண்டு கைப்பிடிநிறையக் கொண்டிருப்பதைவிட, அமைதியாக ஒரு கைப்பிடி நிறையக் கொண்டிருப்பதே நலம்.

pleasant fullness palm quietness from fullness palm trouble and longing spirit: breath

7 ௭ பின்பு நான் திரும்பிக்கொண்டு சூரியனுக்குக் கீழே மாயையான வேறொரு காரியத்தைக் கண்டேன்.

and to return: again I and to see: see vanity underneath: under [the] sun

8 ௮ ஒருவன் தனிமையாக இருக்கிறான்; அவனுக்கு யாருமில்லை, அவனுக்குப் பிள்ளையும் சகோதரனுமில்லை; அப்படியிருந்தும் அவன் படும் பிரயாசத்திற்கு முடிவில்லை; அவனுடைய கண் ஐசுவரியத்தால் திருப்தியாகிறதுமில்லை; நான் ஒரு நன்மையையும் அனுபவிக்காமல் யாருக்காக பிரயாசப்படுகிறேன் என்று அவன் சிந்திக்கிறதுமில்லை; இதுவும் மாயை, தீராத தொல்லை.

9 ௯ தனிமையாக இருப்பதைவிட இருவர் கூடியிருப்பது நலம்; அவர்களுடைய பிரயாசத்தினால் அவர்களுக்கு நல்ல பலன் உண்டாகும்.

10 ௧0 ஒருவன் விழுந்தால் அவனோடு இருப்பவன் அவனைத் தூக்கிவிடுவான்; தனிமையாக இருந்து விழுகிறவனுக்கு ஐயோ, அவனைத் தூக்கிவிடத் துணையில்லையே.

that if: except if: except to fall: fall [the] one to arise: raise [obj] companion his and to/for woe! him [the] one which/that to fall: fall and nothing second to/for to arise: raise him

11 ௧௧ இரண்டுபேராகப் படுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தால் அவர்களுக்குச் சூடுண்டாகும்; தனிமையாக இருப்பவனுக்குச் சூடுண்டாவது எப்படி?

also if to lie down: lay down two and to warm to/for them and to/for one how? to warm

12 ௧௨ ஒருவனை யாராவது ஒருவன் தாக்க வந்தால் இருவரும் அவனுக்கு எதிர்த்து நிற்கலாம்; முப்புரிநூல் சீக்கிரமாக அறுந்து போகாது.

and if to prevail him [the] one [the] two to stand: stand before him and [the] thread [the] to do three not in/on/with haste to tear

13 ௧௩ இனி ஆலோசனையைக் கேட்காத வயதானவனும் மூடனுமாகிய ராஜாவைவிட, ஏழையும் ஞானியுமாகிய இளைஞனே சிறப்பானவன்.

pleasant youth poor and wise from king old and fool which not to know to/for to warn still

14 ௧௪ அரசாள சிறைச்சாலையிலிருந்து புறப்படுபவரும் உண்டு; ராஜகுலத்தில் பிறந்து ஏழையாவாரும் உண்டு.

for from house: home [the] to bind to come out: come to/for to reign for also in/on/with royalty his to beget be poor

15 ௧௫ சூரியனுக்குக்கீழே உயிருள்ளவர்கள் எல்லோரும் ராஜாவின் பட்டத்திற்கு வரப்போகிற பிள்ளையிடம் சார்ந்திருப்பதைக் கண்டேன்.

16 ௧௬ அவர்களுக்குமுன்பு அப்படிச் செய்த மக்களின் எண்ணிக்கைக்கு முடிவில்லை; இனி இருப்பவர்கள் இவன்மேலும் பிரியம் வைக்காமற்போவார்கள்; இதுவும் மாயையும், மனதிற்கு கலக்கமுமாகவும் இருக்கிறது.
