உபாகமம் 17
1 ௧ “பழுதும் அவலட்சணமுமான யாதொரு மாட்டையாவது ஆட்டையாவது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பலியிடவேண்டாம்; அது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு அருவருப்பாக இருக்கும்.
Thou shalt not sacrifice unto the Lord thy God any bullock, or lamb, whereon there is a blemish, any thing evil; for it is an abomination unto the Lord thy God.
2 ௨ “உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக எந்த ஆணாவது பெண்ணாவது உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிற வாசல்கள் ஒன்றில் அக்கிரமம்செய்து, அவருடைய உடன்படிக்கையை மீறி,
If there be found in the midst of thee, within any one of thy gates, which the Lord thy God giveth thee. a man or a woman, that doth the wickedness in the eyes of the Lord thy God, to transgress his covenant,
3 ௩ நான் விலக்கியிருக்கிற வேறே தெய்வங்களையாவது, சந்திரன் சூரியன் முதலான வானசேனைகளையாவது பணிந்து, அவைகளை வணங்குகிறதாகக் காணப்பட்டால்,
And he hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or the moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have prohibited;
4 ௪ அது உன் காதுகேட்க உனக்கு அறிவிக்கப்படும்போது, நீ அதை நன்றாக விசாரிக்கவேண்டும்; அது உண்மையென்றும், அப்படிப்பட்ட அருவருப்பு இஸ்ரவேலில் நடந்தது நிச்சயம் என்றும் காண்பாயானால்,
And it be told thee, and thou hearest of it: then shalt thou inquire diligently; and, behold, if it be true, the thing is certain, such abomination hath been wrought in Israel:
5 ௫ அந்த அக்கிரமத்தைச்செய்த ஆணையும் பெண்ணையும் உன் வாசல்களுக்கு வெளியே கொண்டுபோய், அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் சாகும்படி கல்லெறிவாயாக.
Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, who have committed this wicked thing, unto thy gates, the man or the woman, and thou shalt stone them with stones till they die.
6 ௬ சாவுக்குப் பாத்திரமானவன் இரண்டு மூன்று சாட்சிகளுடைய வாக்கினால் கொலை செய்யப்படக்கடவன்; ஒரே சாட்சியினுடைய வாக்கினால் அவனைக் கொலைசெய்யக்கூடாது.
Upon the evidence of two witnesses, or of three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; he shall not be put to death upon the evidence of one witness.
7 ௭ அவனைக் கொலை செய்கிறதற்குச் சாட்சிகளுடைய கைகள் முந்தியும் எல்லா மக்களுடைய கைகள் பிந்தியும் அவன்மேல் இருப்பதாக; இப்படியே தீமையை உன் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்குவாயாக.
The hand of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people at the last; and thou shalt put the evil away from the midst of thee.
8 ௮ “உன் வாசல்களில் இரத்தப்பழிகளைக்குறித்தும், உரிமைகளைக்குறித்தும், காயம்பட்ட சேதங்களைக்குறித்தும், வழக்கு நேரிட்டு, நியாயந்தீர்ப்பது உனக்கு கடினமாக இருந்தால், நீ எழுந்து, உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தெரிந்தெடுத்த இடத்திற்குப்போய்,
If a matter be unknown to thee for decision, between blood and blood, between plea and plea, and between bodily injury and injury, [or] matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise, and get thee up unto the place which the Lord thy God will choose;
9 ௯ லேவியர்களான ஆசாரியர்களிடத்திலும், அந்நாட்களில் இருக்கிற நியாயாதிபதிகளிடத்திலும் விசாரிக்கவேண்டும்; நியாயம் இன்னதென்று அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிப்பார்கள்.
And thou shalt come unto the priests, the Levites, and unto the judge that may be in those days, and thou shalt inquire, and they shall inform thee of the sentence of the case;
10 ௧0 யெகோவா தெரிந்துகொண்ட இடத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும் தீர்ப்புக்கு நீ இணங்கி, அவர்கள் உனக்குக் கட்டளையிடுகிறபடி செய்யக் கவனமாயிருப்பாயாக.
And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they may tell thee from that place which the Lord will choose, and thou shalt observe to do according to all that they may instruct thee;
11 ௧௧ அவர்கள் உனக்கு அறிவிக்கும் தீர்ப்பைவிட்டு வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாமல், அவர்கள் உனக்கு உணர்த்தும் பிரமாணத்தின்படியும், உனக்குச் சொல்லும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பின்படியும் செய்யக்கடவாய்.
In accordance with the instruction which they may instruct thee, and according to the decision which they may say unto thee, shalt thou do: thou shalt not depart from the sentence which they may tell thee, to the right, or to the left.
12 ௧௨ அங்கே உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு ஆராதனை செய்யும்படி நிற்கிற ஆசாரியனுடைய சொல்லையாகிலும், நியாயாதிபதியினுடைய சொல்லையாகிலும் கேளாமல், ஒருவன் பிடிவாதம் செய்தால், அவன் சாகக்கடவன்; இப்படியே தீமையை இஸ்ரவேலிலிருந்து விலக்குவாயாக.
And the man that will act presumptuously, so as not to hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before the Lord thy God, or unto the judge, even that man shall die; and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel.
And all the people shall hear, and be afraid, and not act presumptuously any more.
14 ௧௪ “உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும் தேசத்தில் நீ போய்ச் சேர்ந்து, அதைச் சொந்தமாக்கிக்கொண்டு, அதில் குடியேறினபின், நீ: என்னைச் சுற்றிலும் இருக்கிற சகல மக்களையும்போல, நானும் எனக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்பாயானால்;
When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and thou hast taken possession of it, and dwellest therein, and thou sayest, I wish to set a king over me, like all the nations that are round about me:
15 ௧௫ உன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா தெரிந்து கொள்பவனையே உனக்கு ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரர்களுக்குள்ளிருக்கிற ஒருவனையே உன்மேல் ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தக்கடவாய்; உன் சகோதரன் அல்லாத அந்நியனை ராஜாவாக ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடாது.
Then mayest thou indeed set a king over thee, the one whom the Lord thy God will choose; [but] from the midst of thy brethren shalt thou set a king over thee; thou mayest not set over thee a stranger, who is not thy brother.
16 ௧௬ அவன் அநேக குதிரைகளைச் சம்பாதிக்காமலும் அநேக குதிரைகளைத் தனக்குச் சம்பாதிக்கும்படி மக்களைத் திரும்ப எகிப்திற்குப் போகச்செய்யாமலும் இருப்பானாக; இனி அந்த வழியாக நீங்கள் திரும்பிப்போகவேண்டாம் என்று யெகோவா உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிறாரே.
Only he shall not acquire for himself many horses; so that he may not cause the people to return to Egypt, in order to acquire many horses; whereas the Lord hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth not return on that way any more.
17 ௧௭ அவனுடைய இருதயம் பின்வாங்கிப் போகாமலிருக்க அவன் அநேகம் மனைவிகளைத் திருமணம் செய்யவேண்டாம்; வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் தனக்கு மிகுதியாகப் பெருகச்செய்யவும் வேண்டாம்.
Neither shall he take to himself many wives, that his heart may not turn away; nor shall he acquire for himself too much silver and gold.
18 ௧௮ அவன் தன் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் வீற்றிருக்கும்போது, அவனுடைய இருதயம் அவன் சகோதரர்கள்பேரில் மேட்டிமை கொள்ளாமலும், கற்பனையைவிட்டு வலதுபுறம் இடதுபுறம் சாயாமலும்,
And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book out of [that which is] before the priests, the Levites;
19 ௧௯ இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின் எல்லா வார்த்தைகளையும், இந்தக் கட்டளைகளையும் கைக்கொண்டு, இவைகளின்படி செய்வதற்காகத் தன் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்திருக்கும்படி கற்றுக்கொள்வதற்கு,
And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: in order that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them.
20 ௨0 அவன் லேவியர்களாகிய ஆசாரியரிடத்திலிருக்கிற நியாயப்பிரமாண புத்தகத்தைப்பார்த்து, தனக்காக ஒரு பிரதியை எழுதி, தன்னிடத்தில் வைத்துக்கொண்டு, தன் உயிருள்ள நாட்களெல்லாம் அதை வாசிக்கவேண்டும்; இப்படிச் செய்வதினால், தானும் தன் மகன்களும் இஸ்ரவேலின் நடுவே தங்கள் ராஜ்ஜியத்திலே நீடித்து வாழ்வார்கள்.
So that his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and so that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right, or to the left: in order that he may live many days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
