அப்போஸ்தலர் 8
1 ௧ ஸ்தேவானைக் கொலைசெய்வதற்கு சவுலும் சம்மதித்திருந்தான். அந்த நாட்களிலே எருசலேமிலுள்ள சபைக்கு மிகுந்த துன்பம் உண்டானது. அப்போஸ்தலர்கள்தவிர, மற்ற எல்லோரும் யூதேயா சமாரியா நாடுகளில் சிதறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்.
At that time a major persecution arose against the church that was in Jerusalem, so all, except the Apostles, were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria.
2 ௨ தேவபக்தியுள்ள மனிதர்கள் ஸ்தேவானை எடுத்து அடக்கம்செய்து, அவனுக்காக மிகவும் துக்கம் அனுசரித்தார்கள்.
(Devout men had buried Stephen and made a great lamentation over him.)
3 ௩ சவுல் ஒவ்வொரு வீடாகப்புகுந்து, ஆண்களையும் பெண்களையும் இழுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், சிறைப்பிடித்து சபையை அழித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
As for Saul, he was trying to destroy the Church; invading house after house and dragging away both men and women, he was putting them in prison.
So on their part those who were scattered abroad went about preaching the Word.
5 ௫ அப்பொழுது பிலிப்பு என்பவன் சமாரியாவிலுள்ள ஒரு பட்டணத்திற்குச் சென்று, அங்குள்ளவர்களுக்குக் கிறிஸ்துவைக்குறித்துப் போதித்தான்.
Now Philip, having gone down to a city of Samaria, was proclaiming the Christ to them;
6 ௬ பிலிப்பு செய்த அதிசயங்களை மக்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு கண்டு, அவனால் சொல்லப்பட்டவைகளை ஒருமனப்பட்டு கவனித்தார்கள்.
and the crowds gave heed with one accord to what Philip was saying, as they heard the words and saw the signs that he kept performing.
7 ௭ அநேகருக்குள் இருந்த அசுத்தஆவிகள் மிகுந்த சத்தமிட்டு அவர்களைவிட்டுப்போனது. அநேக கைகால்கள் செயலிலந்தவர்களும், நடக்க இயலாதவர்களும் சுகமாக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
Because unclean spirits came out screaming from many who had them, and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.
Yes, there was great joy in that city!
9 ௯ சீமோன் என்ற ஒருவன் அந்தப் பட்டணத்திலே மாயவித்தை செய்து, தன்னை ஒரு பெரியவனென்று சொல்லி, சமாரியா நாட்டு மக்களைத் திகைக்கவைத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
Now a certain man named Simon was in the city first, practicing sorcery and astounding the people of Samaria, affirming himself to be someone great,
10 ௧0 தெய்வத்தின் பெரிய சக்தி இவன்தான் என்று நினைத்து, சிறியோர் பெரியோர் எல்லோரும் அவனுடைய சொல்லைக்கேட்டு வந்தார்கள்.
to whom they used to pay attention, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is the great power of God.”
11 ௧௧ அவன் நீண்ட நாட்களாக தன்னுடைய மாயவித்தைகளினாலே அவர்களைப் பிரமிக்கப்பண்ணினதினால் அவனை மதித்துவந்தார்கள்.
They listened to him because he had amazed them with his sorceries for a long time.
12 ௧௨ தேவனுடைய இராஜ்யத்திற்கும் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய நாமத்திற்கும் ஏற்றவைகளைக்குறித்து, பிலிப்பு போதித்ததை அவர்கள் விசுவாசித்தபோது, ஆண்களும் பெண்களும் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றார்கள்.
But, when they believed Philip, as he proclaimed the good news concerning the Kingdom of God and the name, Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13 ௧௩ அப்பொழுது சீமோனும் விசுவாசித்து ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்று, பிலிப்பைச் சேர்ந்துகொண்டு, அவனால் நடந்த அடையாளங்களையும் பெரிய அற்புதங்களையும் பார்த்து பிரமித்தான்.
Even Simon himself believed, and having been baptized he stayed right with Philip; observing miracles and signs occurring, he was amazed.
14 ௧௪ சமாரியர் தேவவசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டதை எருசலேமிலுள்ள அப்போஸ்தலர்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு, பேதுருவையும் யோவானையும் அவர்களிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பினார்கள்.
Now when the Apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
15 ௧௫ இவர்கள் வந்தபொழுது அவர்களில் ஒருவரும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரைப் பெறாமல் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவின் நாமத்தினாலே ஞானஸ்நானத்தைமட்டும் பெற்றிருந்தவர்களாகக் கண்டு,
who upon coming down prayed about them, so that they might receive Holy Spirit,
because He had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized into the name of Jesus, the Christ.
Then they laid their hands upon them and they received Holy Spirit.
18 ௧௮ அப்போஸ்தலர்கள் தங்களுடைய கரங்களை அவர்கள்மேல் வைத்ததினால் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் கொடுக்கப்படுகிறதை சீமோன் பார்த்தபோது, அவர்களிடத்தில் பணத்தைக் கொண்டுவந்து:
Well, upon observing that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the Apostles' hands, Simon offered them money
19 ௧௯ நான் எவன்மேல் என் கரங்களை வைக்கிறேனோ, அவனும் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரைப் பெறத்தக்கதாக எனக்கும் இந்த அதிகாரத்தைக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
saying, “Give this power to me also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive Holy Spirit.”
20 ௨0 பேதுரு அவனைப் பார்த்து: தேவனுடைய வரத்தை பணத்தினாலே சம்பாதித்துக்கொள்ளலாம் என்று நீ நினைத்தபடியால் உன் பணம் உன்னோடுகூட அழிந்து போகக்கடவது.
But Peter said to him: “May your silver go with you into perdition, for thinking that the gift of God could be acquired with money!
21 ௨௧ உன் இருதயம் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் செம்மையாக இல்லாதபடியால், இந்த விஷயத்திலே உனக்குப் பங்குமில்லை பாகமுமில்லை.
You have neither part nor portion in this matter, because your heart is not right before God.
22 ௨௨ ஆகவே, நீ உன் தீயகுணத்தைவிட்டு மனம்திரும்பி, தேவனை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொள்; ஒருவேளை உன் இருதயத்தின் எண்ணம் உனக்கு மன்னிக்கப்படலாம்.
Turn away therefore from this your wickedness and make petition to God, in case the intent of your heart may be forgiven you;
for I see you being into a gall of bitterness and a fetter of unrighteousness.”
24 ௨௪ அதற்குச் சீமோன்: நீங்கள் சொன்ன காரியங்களில் ஒன்றும் எனக்கு சம்பவிக்காதபடிக்கு, எனக்காகக் கர்த்த்தரை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்றான்.
So in answer Simon said, “You make petition to the Lord on my behalf, so that nothing of what you have spoken may come upon me!”
25 ௨௫ இவ்விதமாக அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைச் சாட்சியாக அறிவித்துச் சொன்னபின்பு, சமாரியருடைய அநேக கிராமங்களில் நற்செய்தியைப் போதித்து, எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பிவந்தார்கள்.
So when they had both thoroughly testified and spoken the Word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem; they also evangelized many Samaritan villages.
26 ௨௬ பின்பு கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் பிலிப்பை நோக்கி: நீ எழுந்து, தெற்கு திசையாக எருசலேமிலிருந்து காசா பட்டணத்திற்குப் போகிற வனாந்திரப்பாதைவழியாகப் போ என்றான்.
Then an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, “Get up and go south on the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza; it is desolate.”
27 ௨௭ அந்தப்படி அவன் எழுந்துபோனான். அப்பொழுது எத்தியோப்பியருடைய ராஜாத்தியாகிய கந்தாகே என்பவளுக்கு மந்திரியும் அவளுடைய பொக்கிஷமெல்லாவற்றிற்கும் தலைவனுமாக இருந்த எத்தியோப்பியனாகிய ஒருவன் தொழுதுகொள்ளும்படி எருசலேமுக்கு வந்திருந்து;
So he got up and went; and there, a man, an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court-official of Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasury, who had come worshiping to Jerusalem
28 ௨௮ ஊருக்குத் திரும்பிப்போகும்போது, தன் இரதத்திலே உட்கார்ந்து, ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் புத்தகத்தை வாசித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
—he was returning, sitting in his chariot and reading aloud the prophet Isaiah.
And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go forward and join this chariot.”
30 ௩0 அப்பொழுது பிலிப்பு ஓடிப்போய்ச்சேர்ந்து, அவன் ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் புத்தகத்தை வாசிக்கிறதைக் கேட்டு: நீர் வாசிக்கிறவைகளின் கருத்து உமக்குப் புரிகிறதா என்றான்.
So running up Philip heard him reading the prophet Isaiah and said, “Do you really understand what you are reading?”
31 ௩௧ அதற்கு அவன்: ஒருவன் எனக்குப் புரியவைக்காவிட்டால் அது எனக்கு எப்படி புரியும் என்று சொல்லி; பிலிப்பை, தன்னுடனே ஏறி உட்காரும்படி வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.
So he said, “Well how can I, unless someone guides me?” And he urged Philip to come up and sit with him.
32 ௩௨ அவன் வாசித்த வேதவாக்கியம் என்னவென்றால்: “அவர் ஒரு ஆட்டைப்போல அடிக்கப்படுவதற்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்; மயிர் கத்தரிக்கிறவனுக்கு முன்பாகச் சத்தம்போடாத ஆட்டுக்குட்டியைப்போல அவர் தமது வாயைத் திறவாதிருந்தார்.
Now the portion of the Scripture that he was reading was this: “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so He does not open His mouth.
33 ௩௩ அவர் தம்மைத் தாழ்த்தினபோது அவருடைய நியாயம் எடுத்துப்போடப்பட்டது; அவருடைய ஜீவன் பூமியிலிருந்து எடுபட்டுப்போனது; அவருடைய வம்சத்தை யாராலே சொல்லிமுடியும்” என்பதே.
In His humiliation His justice was removed, and who will recount His generation? Because His life is removed from the earth.”
34 ௩௪ மந்திரி பிலிப்பை நோக்கி: “தீர்க்கதரிசி யாரைக்குறித்து இதைச் சொல்லுகிறார்? தம்மைக்குறித்தோ, வேறொருவரைக்குறித்தோ? எனக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டும்” என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.
So continuing the eunuch said to Philip, “I ask you, about whom does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?”
35 ௩௫ அப்பொழுது பிலிப்பு பேசத்தொடங்கி, இந்த வேதவாக்கியத்தை அடிப்படையாக வைத்து இயேசுவைக்குறித்து அவனுக்குப் போதித்தான்.
So opening his mouth and beginning from this Scripture, Philip preached Jesus to him.
36 ௩௬ இவ்விதமாக அவர்கள் போய்க்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, தண்ணீர் உள்ள ஒரு இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது மந்திரி: “இதோ, தண்ணீர் இருக்கிறதே, நான் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறுகிறதற்குத் தடை என்ன” என்றான்.
Now as they were going down the road they came upon some water, and the eunuch said: “Look, water! What is keeping me from being baptized?”
37 ௩௭ அதற்குப் பிலிப்பு: “நீர் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் விசுவாசித்தால் தடையில்லை” என்றான். அப்பொழுது அவன்: “இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை தேவனுடைய குமாரனென்று விசுவாசிக்கிறேன்” என்று சொல்லி;
38 ௩௮ இரதத்தை நிறுத்தச்சொன்னான். அப்பொழுது பிலிப்புவும் மந்திரியும் தண்ணீரில் இறங்கினார்கள், பிலிப்பு அவனுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுத்தான்.
So he ordered the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.
39 ௩௯ அவர்கள் தண்ணீரைவிட்டுக் கரையேறினபொழுது, கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் பிலிப்பைக் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார். மந்திரி அதற்குப்பின்பு அவனைக் காணாமல், சந்தோஷத்தோடு தன் வழியே போனான்.
Now when they came up out of the water, Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him any more, because he went on his way rejoicing.
40 ௪0 பிலிப்பு ஆசோத்திலே காணப்பட்டு, அந்த இடத்திலிருந்து பிரயாணம்பண்ணி, செசரியாவிற்கு வருகிறவரையில் அனைத்து பட்டணங்களிலும் நற்செய்தியைப் போதித்துக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.
Philip was found at Azotus, and as he passed through he evangelized all the towns until he came to Caesarea.
