அப்போஸ்தலர் 24
1 ௧ ஐந்து நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய அனனியா மூப்பர்களோடும் தெர்த்துல்லு என்னும் ஒரு வழக்கறிஞரோடும் கூடப்போனான், அவர்கள் பவுலுக்கு எதிராக தேசாதிபதியினிடத்தில் முறையீடு செய்தார்கள்.
And, after five days, came down the High-priest Ananias, with certain Elders and a certain orator Tertullus, and they informed the governor against Paul.
And, when he was called, Tertullus began to make accusation, saying—Seeing that, great peace, we are obtaining through thee, and that, reforms, are being brought about for this nation through thy forethought,
3 ௩ கனம்பொருந்திய பேலிக்ஸே, உம்மாலே நாங்கள் மிகுந்த சமாதான சுகத்தை அநுபவிக்கிறதையும், உம்முடைய பராமரிப்பினாலே இந்த தேசத்தினர்களுக்கு சிறந்த நன்மைகள் நடக்கிறதையும் நாங்கள் எப்பொழுதும் எங்கும் மிகுந்த நன்றியறிதலுடனே ஒப்புக்கொள்ளுகிறோம்.
both in all ways and in all places, are we accepting it, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.
4 ௪ உம்மை நான் அதிக சொற்களினாலே வருத்தப்படுத்தாதபடிக்கு, நாங்கள் சுருக்கமாகச் சொல்வதை நீர் பொறுமையாகக் கேட்கவேண்டுமென்று வேண்டுகிறேன்.
But, lest I too long detain thee, I beseech thee to hear us concisely in thy considerateness.
5 ௫ என்னவென்றால், இந்த மனிதன் கொள்ளைநோயாகவும், பூமியிலுள்ள அனைத்து யூதர்கள் நடுவில் கலகம் எழுப்புகிறவனாகவும், நசரேயருடைய மதகுழப்பத்திற்கு தலைவனாகவும் இருக்கிறானென்று கண்டறிந்தோம்.
For, finding this man a pest, and moving sedition with all the Jews that are throughout the inhabited earth, a leader also of the sect of the Nazarenes, —
6 ௬ இவன் தேவாலயத்தையும் தீட்டுப்படுத்தப்பார்த்தான். நாங்கள் இவனைப்பிடித்து எங்களுடைய வேதபிரமாணத்தின்படியே நியாயம் விசாரிக்க விரும்பியிருந்தோம்.
who also attempted to desecrate even, the temple, whom we also seized,
7 ௭ அப்பொழுது இராணுவ அதிபதி லீசியா வந்து, மிகவும் துணிகரமாக இவனை எங்களுடைய கைகளிலிருந்து இழுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்,
8 ௮ இவன்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துகிறவர்கள் உம்மிடத்தில் வரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டார். இவனிடத்தில் நீர் விசாரித்தால் நாங்கள் இவன்மேல் சுமத்துகிற குற்றங்கள் அனைத்தையும் அறிந்துகொள்ளலாம் என்றான்.
from whom thou shall be able, thyself, by making examination concerning all these things, to ascertain the things of which, we, are accusing him.
Moreover, the Jews also were joining in the attack, saying that, these things, were, so.
10 ௧0 பவுல் பேச தேசாதிபதி அனுமதித்தபோது, அவன் பதிலாக: நீர் அநேக வருடகாலமாக இந்த நாட்டாருக்கு நீதிபதியாக இருக்கிறீர் என்றறிந்து, நான் என் காரியங்களைக்குறித்து அதிக தைரியத்துடன் பதில் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
And Paul answered, when the governor had motioned him to be speaking, —Well knowing thee to have been, for many years, judge unto his nation, cheerfully, as to the things concerning myself, do I make defence;
11 ௧௧ நான் தொழுதுகொள்ளும்படியாக எருசலேமுக்குப் போனதுமுதல் இதுவரைக்கும் பன்னிரண்டு நாட்கள்மட்டும் ஆனதென்று நீர் அறிந்துகொள்ளலாம்.
seeing thou art able to ascertain, that there are, not more, than twelve days, since I went up to worship in Jerusalem, —
12 ௧௨ தேவாலயத்திலே நான் ஒருவரிடத்திலாவது தர்க்கம் செய்ததையும், நான் ஜெப ஆலயங்களிலாவது பட்டணத்திலாவது மக்களுக்குள்ளே கலகமெழுப்பினதையும், இவர்கள் பார்த்ததில்லை.
and neither, in the temple, found they me, with any one, disputing, or causing, a halt, of the multitude, either in the synagogues or throughout the city, —
neither can they make good the things concerning which they are, now, accusing me.
14 ௧௪ உம்மிடத்தில் ஒன்றை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறேன்; அது என்னவென்றால், இவர்கள் மதபேதம் என்று சொல்லுகிற வழியின்படியே எங்களுடைய முன்னோர்களின் தேவனுக்கு ஆராதனைசெய்து நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலேயும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் புத்தகங்களிலேயும் எழுதியிருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும் நான் நம்பி,
But I confess, this, unto thee, —That, according to the Way which they call a Sect, so, I am rendering divine service unto my father’s God, believing in all the things which, throughout the law, and those which, in the prophets, are written:
15 ௧௫ நீதிமான்களும் அநீதிமான்களுமாகிய மரித்தோர் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பது உண்டென்று இவர்கள் தேவனிடத்தில் நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறதுபோல, நானும் நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.
Having, hope, towards God, which, even these themselves, do entertain—that, a resurrection, there shall certainly be, both of righteous and of unrighteous:
16 ௧௬ இதனால் நான் தேவனுக்கும் மனிதர்களுக்கும் முன்பாக எப்பொழுதும் குற்றமற்ற மனச்சாட்சியை உடையவனாக இருக்க முயற்சிக்கிறேன்.
herein, even I, myself, am studying to have, an unoffending conscience, towards God and men, continually.
17 ௧௭ பல வருடங்களுக்குப்பின்பு நான் என் மக்களுக்கு நன்கொடைப் பணத்தைக் கொடுக்கவும், காணிக்கைகளைச் செலுத்தவும் வந்தேன்.
Now, after many years, intending to do, alms, unto my nation, I arrived, —also [to present] offerings; among which they found me, purified in the temple, not with a multitude, nor with tumult;
18 ௧௮ அப்பொழுது கூட்டமில்லாமலும் ஆர்ப்பாட்டமில்லாமலும் தேவாலயத்திலே சுத்திகரிப்பு செய்துகொண்டவனாக இருந்தபோது, ஆசியா நாட்டாரான சில யூதர்கள் என்னைப் பார்த்தார்கள்.
but certain Jews from Asia [caused it], —
19 ௧௯ அவர்களுக்கு என்பேரில் விரோதமான காரியம் ஏதாவது இருந்தால், அவர்களே இங்கே வந்து, உமக்கு முன்பாகக் குற்றஞ்சுமத்தவேண்டும்.
who ought, before thee, to have presented themselves, and to have been laying accusation, if, anything, they might have had against me: —
20 ௨0 நான் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தினர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நின்றபோது அவர்கள் ஏதாவது அநியாயத்தை என்னிடத்தில் கண்டிருந்தால் இவர்களே அதைச் சொல்லட்டும்.
Or, let, these themselves, say what wrong they found, when I stood before the High-council, —
21 ௨௧ நான் அவர்கள் நடுவில் நின்றபோது மரித்தோர் உயிர்த்தெழுந்திருப்பதைக்குறித்து, இன்று உங்களாலே நியாயந்தீர்க்கப்படுகிறேன் என்று நான் சொன்ன ஒரு சொல்லினிமித்தமேயன்றி வேறொன்றினிமித்தமும் குற்றம் காணப்படவில்லை என்றான்.
unless concerning this one voice, wherewith I cried aloud among them, as I stood—Concerning the raising of the dead, am, I, to be judged, this day, by you.
22 ௨௨ இந்த மார்க்கத்தின் விஷயங்களை தெளிவாக அறிந்திருந்த பேலிக்ஸ் இவைகளைக் கேட்டபொழுது: இராணுவ அதிபதி லீசியா வரும்போது உங்களுடைய காரியங்களைக் கண்டிப்பாய் விசாரிப்பேன் என்று சொல்லி;
And Felix deferred them, having more exact knowledge concerning the Way, —saying—As soon as, Lysias the captain, hath come down, I will give judgment as to your affairs, —
23 ௨௩ பவுலைக் காவலில் வைக்கவும், கண்டிப்பில்லாமல் நடத்தவும், அவனுக்கு சேவைசெய்கிறதற்கும் அவனைக் கவனித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறதற்கும் வருகிற அவனுடைய மனிதர்களில் ஒருவரையும் தடைசெய்யாதிருக்கவும் நூறுபேருக்கு அதிபதியானவனுக்கு ஆணையிட்டு, அவர்களைக் காத்திருக்கும்படி செய்தான்.
giving orders unto the centurion, that he should be kept, and have a measure of liberty, and to be hindering, none, of his own from waiting upon him.
24 ௨௪ சில நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு பேலிக்ஸ் யூதப் பெண்ணாகிய தன் மனைவி துருசில்லாளுடனே வந்து, பவுலை அழைத்து வரச்செய்து, கிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றும் விசுவாசத்தைக்குறித்து அவன் சொல்லக்கேட்டான்.
And, after certain days, Felix having arrived, with Drusilla his own wife, who was, a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith, respecting Christ Jesus.
25 ௨௫ அவன், நீதியையும், இச்சையடக்கத்தையும், இனிவரும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பைக்குறித்துப் பேசும்போது, பேலிக்ஸ் பயமடைந்து: இப்பொழுது நீ போகலாம், எனக்கு நேரம் கிடைக்கும்போது உன்னை வரவழைப்பேன் என்றான்.
And, as he was reasoning of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment to come, Felix, becoming greatly afraid, answered—For the present, be going thy way, and, when I find an opportunity, I will send for thee, —
26 ௨௬ மேலும், அவன் பவுலை விடுதலைசெய்யும்படி தனக்கு அவன் பணங்கொடுப்பானென்று நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவனாக இருந்தான்; அதினாலே அவன் அநேகமுறை அவனை அழைத்து, அவனுடனே பேசினான்.
at the same time, also hoping that, money, would be given him by Paul; wherefore also, the more frequently sending for him, he used to converse with him.
27 ௨௭ இரண்டு வருடங்கள் சென்றபின்பு பேலிக்ஸ் என்பவனுக்குப் பதிலாக பொர்க்கியுபெஸ்து தேசாதிபதியாக வந்தான்; அப்பொழுது பேலிக்ஸ் யூதர்களுக்கு நன்மைசெய்ய விரும்பி பவுலைக் காவலில் வைத்துவிட்டுப்போனான்.
When, however, two years, were completed, Felix, was succeeded, by Porcius Festus, and Felix, wishing to gain favour with the Jews, left Paul bound.
