அப்போஸ்தலர் 18
After these things Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.
2 ௨ யூதரெல்லோரும் ரோமாபுரியைவிட்டுப்போகும்படி கிலவுதியு பேரரசன் கட்டளையிட்டபடியினாலே, இத்தாலியாவிலிருந்து புதிதாக வந்திருந்த பொந்து தேசத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஆக்கில்லா என்னும் பெயருள்ள ஒரு யூதனையும் அவன் மனைவியாகிய பிரிஸ்கில்லாளையும் அங்கே பார்த்து, அவர்களிடத்திற்குப் போனான்.
There he met a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul went to them,
3 ௩ அவர்கள் கூடாரம்பண்ணுகிற தொழிலாளிகளாக இருந்தார்கள்; தானும் அந்தத் தொழில் செய்கிறவனாக இருந்தபடியால் அவர்களோடு தங்கி, வேலை செய்துகொண்டு வந்தான்.
and because he worked at the same trade, he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade.
So Paul reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath. He persuaded both Jews and Greeks.
5 ௫ மக்கெதோனியாவிலிருந்து சீலாவும் தீமோத்தேயுவும் வந்தபோது, பவுல் வைராக்கியத்தோடு, இயேசுவே கிறிஸ்து என்று யூதர்களுக்கு நிரூபித்தான்.
But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit to testify to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.
6 ௬ அவர்கள் எதிர்த்து நின்று பவுலுக்கு எதிராகப் பேசினபோது, அவன் தன் ஆடைகளை உதறி: உங்களுடைய இரத்தப்பழி உங்களுடைய தலையின்மேல் இருக்கும்; நான் சுத்தமாக இருக்கிறேன்; இனி நான் யூதர்களல்லாதவரிடத்திற்கு போவேன் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லி,
When the Jews opposed and insulted him, Paul shook out his garment at them and said to them, “May your blood be upon your own heads; I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”
7 ௭ அந்த இடத்தைவிட்டு, தேவனை வணங்குகிறவனாகிய யுஸ்து என்பவனுடைய வீட்டிற்கு வந்தான்; அவன் வீடு ஜெப ஆலயத்திற்கு அடுத்து இருந்தது.
Then he left from there and went to the house of Titius Justus, a man who worshiped God. His house was next to the synagogue.
8 ௮ ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவனாகிய கிறிஸ்பு என்பவன் குடும்பமாக கர்த்தரிடத்தில் விசுவாசமுள்ளவனானான். கொரிந்தியரில் அநேக மக்கள் நற்செய்தியைக் கேட்டு, விசுவாசித்து, ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றார்கள்.
Crispus, the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with all those who lived in his house; and many of the Corinthians who heard about it believed and were baptized.
The Lord said to Paul in the night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent.
10 ௧0 நான் உன்னோடுகூட இருக்கிறேன், ஒருவனும் உனக்குத் தீங்குசெய்யமுடியாது; இந்தப் பட்டணத்தில் எனக்கு அநேக மக்கள் உண்டு என்றார்.
For I am with you, and no one will try to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”
11 ௧௧ அவன் ஒரு வருடம் ஆறுமாத காலங்கள் அங்கே தங்கி, தேவவசனத்தை அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.
Paul lived there for a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
12 ௧௨ கல்லியோன் என்பவன் அகாயா நாட்டிற்கு அதிபதியானபோது, யூதர்கள் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து, பவுலுக்கு எதிராக எழும்பி, அவனை நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு கொண்டுபோய்:
But when Gallio became governor of Achaia, the Jews rose up together against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat;
they said, “This man persuades people to worship God contrary to the law.”
14 ௧௪ பவுல் பேச ஆரம்பிக்கும்போது, கல்லியோன் யூதரை நோக்கி: யூதர்களே, இது ஒரு அநியாயமாக அல்லது பொல்லாத செயலாக இருக்குமென்றால் நான் நீங்கள் சொல்வதை பொறுமையோடு கேட்பது நல்லது.
Yet when Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to the Jews, “You Jews, if indeed it were a matter of wrong or a crime, it would be reasonable to deal with you.
15 ௧௫ ஆனால் இது வார்த்தைகளுக்கும், நாமங்களுக்கும், உங்களுடைய வேதத்திற்கும் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட காரியமாக இருப்பதால், இவைகளைப்பற்றி, விசாரணைசெய்ய எனக்கு விருப்பமில்லை, நீங்களே பார்த்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,
But since these are questions about words and names and your own law, settle it yourselves. I do not wish to be a judge of these matters.”
Gallio made them leave the judgment seat.
17 ௧௭ அப்பொழுது கிரேக்கரெல்லோரும் ஜெப ஆலயத்தலைவனாகிய சொஸ்தேனேயைப் பிடித்து, நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு முன்பாக அடித்தார்கள். இவைகளைக்குறித்துக் கல்லியோன் கவலைப்படவில்லை.
So they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him in front of the judgment seat. But Gallio did not care what they did.
18 ௧௮ பவுல் அநேகநாட்கள் அங்கே தங்கியிருந்து, சகோதரர்களிடம் விடைபெற்றுக்கொண்டு, தனக்கு ஒரு பிராத்தனை இருக்கிறபடியால் கெங்கிரேயா பட்டணத்தில் தலைச்சவரம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, கப்பல் ஏறி சீரியா தேசத்திற்குப் போனான். பிரிஸ்கில்லாளும் ஆக்கில்லாவும் அவனோடுகூட போனார்கள்.
Paul, after staying there for many more days, left the brothers and sailed for Syria with Priscilla and Aquila. Before he left the seaport, Cenchrea, he had his hair cut off because of a vow he had taken.
19 ௧௯ அவன் எபேசு பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தபோது, அங்கே அவர்களைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து, ஜெப ஆலயத்திற்குச் சென்று, யூதர்களுடனே பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
When they came to Ephesus, Paul left Priscilla and Aquila there, but he himself went into the synagogue and reasoned with the Jews.
20 ௨0 அவன் இன்னும் கொஞ்சநாட்கள் அவர்களோடு தங்கவேண்டுமென்று அவர்கள் கேட்டுக் கொண்டபோது அவன் சம்மதிக்காமல்,
When they asked Paul to stay a longer time, he declined.
21 ௨௧ வருகிற பண்டிகையிலே, நான் எப்படியாவது எருசலேமில் இருக்கவேண்டும். தேவனுக்குச் சித்தமானால் திரும்பி உங்களிடம் வருவேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களிடம் விடைபெற்றுக்கொண்டு, கப்பல் ஏறி எபேசுவைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு,
But taking his leave of them, he said, “I will return again to you if it is God's will.” He then set sail from Ephesus.
22 ௨௨ செசரியா பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்து, எருசலேமுக்குப்போய், சபைமக்களைச் சந்தித்து, அந்தியோகியாவிற்குப் போனான்.
When Paul had landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the Jerusalem church and then went down to Antioch.
23 ௨௩ அங்கே சிலகாலம் தங்கியிருந்தபின்பு, அங்கிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, கலாத்தியா நாட்டிலேயும் பிரிகியா நாட்டிலேயும் சுற்றித்திரிந்து, சீடரெல்லோரையும் உற்சாகப்படுத்தினான்.
After having spent some time there, Paul departed and went through the regions of Galatia and Phrygia and strengthened all the disciples.
24 ௨௪ அப்பொழுது அலெக்சந்திரியா பட்டணத்தில் பிறந்த பேச்சிலே வல்லவனும், வேதாகமங்களில் தேறினவனுமான அப்பொல்லோ என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட ஒரு யூதன் எபேசு பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தான்.
Now a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by birth, came to Ephesus. He was eloquent in speech and mighty in the scriptures.
25 ௨௫ அவன் கர்த்தருடைய வழியிலே போதிக்கப்பட்டு, யோவான் கொடுத்த ஞானஸ்நானத்தைமட்டும் தெரிந்தவனாக இருந்து, ஆவியில் வைராக்கியள்ளவனாகக் கர்த்தருக்குரிய காரியங்களைத் தெளிவாய்ப் போதகம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.
Apollos had been instructed in the teachings of the Lord. Being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, but he knew only the baptism of John.
26 ௨௬ அவன் ஜெப ஆலயத்தில் தைரியமாகப் பேசினபோது, ஆக்கில்லாவும், பிரிஸ்கில்லாளும் அவன் பேசுகிறதைக் கேட்டு, அவனைத் தங்களோடு சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, தேவனுடைய வழிகளை அதிகத் தெளிவாக அவனுக்கு விளக்கிக் காண்பித்தார்கள்.
Apollos began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.
27 ௨௭ பின்பு அவன் அகாயா நாட்டிற்குப் போகவேண்டும் என்றபோது, சீடர்கள் அங்கே அவனை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படி சகோதரர்கள் அவர்களுக்கு கடிதம் எழுதினார்கள்.
When he desired to pass over into Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples in Achaia to welcome him. When he arrived, he greatly helped those who believed by grace.
28 ௨௮ அவன் அகாயா நாட்டிற்கு வந்து வெளிப்படையாக யூதர்களுடனே பலமாக வாதாடி, இயேசுவே கிறிஸ்து என்று வேதவாக்கியங்களைக் கொண்டு விளக்கினபடியால், கிருபையினாலே விசுவாசிகளானவர்களுக்கு மிகவும் உதவியாக இருந்தான்.
Apollos powerfully refuted the Jews in public debate, showing by the scriptures that Jesus is the Christ.
