2 சாமுவேல் 23
1 ௧ தாவீதின் கடைசி வார்த்தைகள்: “மேன்மையாக உயர்த்தப்பட்டு, யாக்கோபுடைய தேவனால் அபிஷேகம் பெற்று, இஸ்ரவேலின் சங்கீதங்களை இனிமையாகப் பாடின ஈசாயின் மகனான தாவீது என்னும் மனிதன் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்;
Now, these, are the last words of David, —The oracle of David, son of Jesse, Yea the oracle of The man raised up on high, The Anointed of the God of Jacob, the Delight of the Songs of Israel:
The Spirit of Yahweh, spake in me, —And, his word, was on my tongue;
3 ௩ இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனும் இஸ்ரவேலின் கன்மலையுமானவர் எனக்குச் சொல்லி உரைத்ததாவது: நீதிபதியாக மனிதர்களை ஆட்சி செய்து, தெய்வபயத்தோடு ஆளுகிறவர் இருப்பார்.
Said the God of Israel, Unto me, spake the Rock of Israel: —One Ruling over Men, A Righteous One, ruling in the reverence of God,
4 ௪ அவர் காலையில் மேகம் இல்லாமல் உதித்து, மழைக்குப்பின்பு தன்னுடைய வெளிச்சத்தினால் புல்லை பூமியிலிருந்து முளைக்கச்செய்கிற சூரியனுடைய விடியற்கால வெளிச்சத்தைப்போல இருப்பார் என்றார்.
Is even as the light of the morning when ariseth the sun, —A morning, without clouds, [As] from brightness, [and] from rain, the fresh shoots out of the earth.
5 ௫ என்னுடைய வீடு தேவனிடம் இப்படி இருக்காதோ? அனைத்தும் தீர்மானித்திருக்கிற நிச்சயமான நித்திய உடன்படிக்கையை என்னுடன் அவர் செய்திருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் என்னுடைய எல்லா இரட்சிப்பும் எல்லா வாஞ்சையும் பெருகச்செய்யாமல் இருப்பாரோ?
When, not so, was my house with GOD, Then, a covenant age-abiding, he appointed me, Ordered in all things and guarded, Now that it is all my salvation and all my desire, Will he not make it shoot forth?
6 ௬ தீயவர்கள் அனைவரும், கையினால் பிடிக்கப்படமுடியாததாக எறிந்துபோடப்படவேண்டிய முள்ளுக்குச் சமானமானவர்கள்.
But, as for the abandoned, like thorns to be tossed away are they all, —For, not with the hand, can they be taken;
7 ௭ அவைகளை ஒருவன் தொடப்போனால், இரும்பாலான ஆயுதத்தையும் ஈட்டிப்பிடியையும் இறுகப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்; அவைகள் இருக்கிற இடத்திலேயே அக்கினியால் முழுவதும் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படும்” என்றான்.
But, the man that would touch them, Must fence himself with iron, and the shaft of a spear, —Then, with fire, shall they be, consumed, on the spot!
8 ௮ தாவீதுக்கு இருந்த பலசாலிகளின் பெயர்கள்: தக்கெமோனியின் மகனான யோசேப்பாசெபெத் என்பவன் இராணுவ அதிகாரிகளின் தலைவன்; இவன் 800 பேரை ஒன்றாக வெட்டிப்போட்ட அதீனோஏஸ்னி ஊரைச்சேர்த்தவன்.
These, are the names of the mighty men, who belonged to David, —The president a Tachmonite head of the charioteers, the same, was Adino the Eznite, for eight hundred, slain at one time.
9 ௯ இவனுக்கு இரண்டாவது, அகோயின் மகனான தோதோவின் மகன் எலெயாசார் என்பவன்; இவன் பெலிஸ்தர்கள் யுத்தத்திற்குக் கூடின இடத்திலே இஸ்ரவேல் மனிதர்கள் போகும்போது, தாவீதோடு இருந்து பெலிஸ்தர்களை சபித்த மூன்று பலசாலிகளில் ஒருவனாக இருந்தான்.
And, after him, Eleazar son of Dodo, son of Ahohi, —in the hero-class of mighty men, with David, when they reproached the Philistines, they were gathered together there to battle, but the men of Israel had gone up;
10 ௧0 இவன் எழுந்து தன்னுடைய கை சோர்ந்து, தன்னுடைய கை பட்டயத்தோடு ஒட்டிக்கொள்ளும்வரை பெலிஸ்தர்களை வெட்டினான்; அன்றையதினம் யெகோவா பெரிய இரட்சிப்பை நடத்தினார்; மக்கள் கொள்ளையிடுவதற்குமட்டும் அவனுக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள்.
he, however, arose and smote among the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto his sword, so Yahweh wrought a great victory on that day, —the people, coming back after him, only to strip the slain.
11 ௧௧ இவனுக்கு மூன்றாவது, ஆகேயின் மகனான சம்மா என்னும் ஆராரியன்; சிறுபயிறு நிறைந்த வயலிருந்த இடத்திலே பெலிஸ்தர்கள் ஏராளமாகக் கூடி, மக்கள் பெலிஸ்தர்களைக் கண்டு ஓடுகிறபோது,
And, after him, Shammah son of Agee, the Hararite, —and, when the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, there being at hand an allotment of field-land full of lentils, but, the people, having fled from the face of the Philistines,
12 ௧௨ இவன் அந்த நிலத்தின் நடுவிலே நின்று அதைக் காப்பாற்றி, பெலிஸ்தர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; அதனால் யெகோவா பெரிய இரட்சிப்பை நடத்தினார்.
then took he his stand in the midst of the allotment, and defended it, and smote the Philistines, —and Yahweh wrought a great victory.
13 ௧௩ முப்பது தலைவருக்குள்ளே இந்த மூன்று பேர்களும் அறுவடையின் நாளில் அதுல்லாம் கெபியிலே தாவீதிடம் போயிருந்தார்கள்; பெலிஸ்தர்களின் படை ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே முகாமிட்டபோது,
And three of the thirty chiefs descended, and came in, towards harvest, unto David, unto the cave of Adullam, —although, a troop of Philistines, were encamped in the vale of Rephaim;
14 ௧௪ தாவீது பாதுகாப்பான ஒரு இடத்தில் இருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாம் பெத்லெகேமிலே இருந்தது.
and, David, then was in a stronghold, —and, a garrison of Philistines, was then in Bethlehem.
15 ௧௫ தாவீது பெத்லெகேமின் நுழைவுவாயிலில் இருக்கிற கிணற்றின் தண்ணீரின்மேல் ஆசைகொண்டு: என்னுடைய தாகத்திற்குக் கொஞ்சம் தண்ணீர் கொண்டுவருகிறவன் யார் என்றான்.
And David longed, and said, —Who will give me to drink water out of the well of Bethlehem, that is within the gate?
16 ௧௬ அப்பொழுது இந்த மூன்று பெலசாலிகளும் பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாமில் துணிந்து புகுந்துபோய், பெத்லெகேமின் நுழைவுவாசலில் இருக்கிற கிணற்றிலே தண்ணீர் மொண்டு, தாவீதிடம் கொண்டு வந்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவன் அதைக் குடிக்க மனம் இல்லாமல் அதைக் யெகோவாவெக்கென்று ஊற்றிப்போட்டு:
And the three mighty men brake through the camp of Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was within the gate, and bare it, and brought it in unto David, —yet would he not drink, but poured it out unto Yahweh,
17 ௧௭ யெகோவாவே, தங்கள் உயிரை பொருட்டாக எண்ணாமல் போய்வந்த அந்த மனிதர்களின் இரத்தத்தைக் குடிக்கும் இந்தச்செயல் எனக்குத் தூரமாக இருப்பதாக என்று சொல்லி, அதைக் குடிக்க மனம் இல்லாமலிருந்தான்; இப்படி இந்த மூன்று பெலசாலிகளும் செய்தார்கள்.
and said—Be it far from me, O Yahweh, that I should do this! is it not the blood of the men who went with their lives [in their hands]? So he would not drink it. These things, did the three mighty men.
18 ௧௮ யோவாபின் சகோதரனும் செருயாவின் மகனுமான அபிசாய் என்பவன், அந்த மூன்றுபேரில் முதன்மையானவன்; அவன் தன்னுடைய ஈட்டியை ஓங்கி 300 பேரைக் கொன்றதால், இந்த மூன்றுபேர்களில் பெயர்பெற்றவனானான்.
And. Abishai brother of Joab son of Zeruiah, he, was chief of three, in that he brandished his spear against three hundred whom he slew; and, he, had a name among three.
19 ௧௯ இந்த மூன்றுபேர்களில் அவன் மேன்மையுள்ளவனாக இருந்ததால் அல்லவோ, அவர்களில் தலைவனானான்; ஆனாலும் அந்த முந்தின மூன்றுபேருக்கு அவன் சமமானவன் அல்ல.
Was he not most honourable, of the three, and so became their captain? Nevertheless, unto the three, he attained not.
20 ௨0 பலசாலியான யோய்தாவின் மகனும் கப்செயேல் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்தவனுமான பெனாயாவும் செயல்களில் வல்லவனாக இருந்தான்; அவன் மோவாப் தேசத்தின் இரண்டு வலிமையான சிங்கங்களைக் கொன்றதுமல்லாமல், உறைந்த மழைக்காலத்தில் அவன் இறங்கிப்போய், ஒரு கெபிக்குள் இருந்த ஒரு சிங்கத்தையும் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.
Benaiah also, son of Jehoiadah, son of an active man, hero of many a deed, a man of Kabzeel, he, smote the two sons of Ariel of Moab, he, also went down and smote a lion in the midst of a pit, on a day of snow;
21 ௨௧ அவன் பயங்கர உயரமுள்ள ஒரு எகிப்தியனையும் கொன்றுபோட்டான்; அந்த எகிப்தியன் கையில் ஒரு ஈட்டி இருக்கும்போது, இவன் ஒரு தடியைப்பிடித்து, அவனிடம் போய், அந்த எகிப்தியன் கையிலிருந்த ஈட்டியைப் பிடுங்கி, அவன் ஈட்டியாலே அவனைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.
he, also smote an Egyptian, who was of valiant bearing, and, in the hand of the Egyptian, was a spear, but he went down unto him with a staff, —and wrested the spear out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slew him with his own spear.
22 ௨௨ இவைகளை யோய்தாவின் மகனான பெனாயா செய்தபடியால், மூன்று பலசாலிகளுக்குள்ளே புகழ்பெற்றவனாக இருந்தான்.
These things, did Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and, he, had a name among three mighty men.
23 ௨௩ 30 பேர்களிலும் இவன் மேன்மையுள்ளவன்; ஆனாலும் அந்த முந்தின மூன்றுபேருக்கும் இவன் சமானமானவன் அல்ல; இவனை தாவீது தன்னுடைய மெய்க்காவலர்களுக்குத் தலைவனாக வைத்தான்.
He was the most honourable, of thirty, although, unto the three, he attained no, —so David added him to his council.
24 ௨௪ யோவாபின் தம்பி ஆசகேல் மற்ற 30 பேர்களில் ஒருவன்; அவர்கள் யாரெனில், பெத்லகேம் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த தோதோவின் மகன் எல்க்கானான்,
Asahel, brother of Joab, was among the thirty, —Elhanan, son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;
Shammah, the Harodite; Elika, the Harodite;
Helez, the Paltite, Ira, son of Ikkesh, the Tekoite;
Abiezer, the Anathothite, Mebunnai, the Hushathite;
Zalmon, the Ahohite, Maharai, the Netophathite;
29 ௨௯ பானாவின் மகனான ஏலேப் என்னும் நெத்தோபாத்தியன், பென்யமீன் வம்சத்தார்களின் கிபியா ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த ரிபாயின் மகன் இத்தாயி,
Heleb, son of Baanah, the Netophathite, —Ittai, son of Ribai, of Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin;
Benaiah, a Pirathonite, Hiddai, of the torrents of Gaash;
Abi-albon, the Arbathite, Azmaveth, the Barhumite;
Eliahba, the Shaalbonite, (Of) the sons of Jashen, Jonathan;
Shammah, the Hararite, Ahiam, son of Sharar, the Ararite;
34 ௩௪ மாகாத்தியனின் மகனான அகஸ்பாயிம் மகன் எலிப்பெலேத், கீலோனியனான அகித்தோப்பேலின் மகன் எலியாம் என்பவன்.
Eliphelet, son of Ahasbai, son of the Maacathite. Eliam, son of Ahithophel, the Gilonite.
Hezro, the Carmelite, Paarai, the Arbite;
Igal, son of Nathan, of Zobah, Bani, the Gadite;
Zelek, the Ammonite, —Naharai, the Beerothite, armour bearers to Joab son of Zeruiah;
Ira, the Ithrite, Gareb, the Ithrite;
Uriah, the Hittite, In all, thirty and seven.
