2 சாமுவேல் 21
1 ௧ தாவீதின் நாட்களில் மூன்று வருடங்கள் தீராத பஞ்சம் உண்டாயிருந்தது; அப்பொழுது தாவீது யெகோவாவுடைய முகத்தைத் தேடினான். யெகோவா: கிபியோனியர்களைக் கொன்றுபோட்ட சவுலுக்காகவும், இரத்தப்பிரியரான அவன் குடும்பத்தாருக்காகவும் இது உண்டானது என்றார்.
And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David besought the presence of the Lord. And the Lord said, On account of Saul, and on account of the house of blood, is this; because he hath slain the Gib'onites.
2 ௨ அப்பொழுது ராஜா: கிபியோனியர்களை அழைத்தான்; கிபியோனியர்களோ, இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களாக இல்லாமல் எமோரியர்களில் மீதியாக இருந்தவர்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் ஆணையிட்டிருந்தும், சவுல் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்காகவும், யூதாவுக்காகவும் காண்பித்த வைராக்கியத்தினால் அவர்களை வெட்ட வகைதேடினான்.
And the king called for the Gib'onites, and said unto them: [now the Gib'onites are not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Emorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them; but Saul had sought to slay them in his zeal for the children of Israel in Judah: ]
3 ௩ ஆகையால் தாவீது கிபியோனியர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியது என்ன? யெகோவாவுடைய நன்மைகளையும் வாக்குத்தத்தங்களையும் சுதந்திரத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிற அவருடைய மக்களை நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கும்படி, நான் செய்யவேண்டிய பரிகாரம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.
Wherefore David said unto the Gib'onites, What shall I do for you? and wherewith shall I make the atonement, that ye may bless the inheritance of the Lord?
4 ௪ அப்பொழுது கிபியோனியர்கள் அவனைப் பார்த்து: சவுலோடும் அவன் குடும்பத்தார்களோடும் எங்களுக்கு இருக்கிற காரியத்திற்காக எங்களுக்கு வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் தேவையில்லை; இஸ்ரவேலில் ஒருவனைக் கொன்றுபோடவேண்டும் என்பதும் எங்களுடைய விருப்பம் இல்லை என்றார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவன்: அப்படியானால், நான் உங்களுக்கு என்ன செய்யவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள் என்று கேட்டான்.
And the Gib'onites said unto him, We have no concern of silver or gold with Saul and with his house: nor do we wish to kill any man in Israel. And he said, What ye say, will I do for you.
5 ௫ அவர்கள் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லைகளில் எங்கும் இல்லாதபடி, அழிந்துபோக எவன் எங்களை அழித்து எங்களுக்குத் தீங்குசெய்ய நினைத்தானோ,
And they said to the king, The man that consumed us, and that devised against us that we should be destroyed, so that we should have no footing in all the boundaries of Israel.
6 ௬ அவன் மகன்களில் ஏழுபேர் யெகோவா தெரிந்துகொண்ட சவுலின் ஊரான கிபியாவிலே நாங்கள் அவர்களைக் கர்த்தருக்கென்று தூக்கில்போட, எங்களுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்றார்கள். நான் அவர்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன் என்று ராஜா சொன்னான்.
Let there be delivered unto us seven men of his sons, and we will hang them up unto the Lord in Gib'ah of Saul, the chosen of the Lord. And the king said, I will give them.
7 ௭ ஆனாலும் தாவீதும் சவுலின் மகனான யோனத்தானும் யெகோவாவுக்கு செய்துகொண்ட ஆணைக்காக, ராஜா சவுலின் மகனான யோனத்தானின் மகன் மேவிபோசேத்தைத் தப்பவிட்டு,
But the king had pity on Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of the Lord's oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.
8 ௮ ஆயாவின் மகளான ரிஸ்பாள் சவுலுக்குப் பெற்ற அவளுடைய இரண்டு மகன்களான அர்மோனியையும், மேவிபோசேத்தையும், சவுலின் மகள்களான மேரப் மேகோலாத்தியனான பர்சிலாயியின் மகனான ஆதரியேலுக்குப் பெற்ற அவளுடைய ஐந்து மகன்களையும் பிடித்து,
And the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Ayah, whom she had born unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she had brought up for 'Adriel the son of Barzillai the Mecholathite:
9 ௯ அவர்களைக் கிபியோனியர்கள் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தான்; அவர்களைக் யெகோவாவுடைய சமூகத்தில் மலையின்மேல் தூக்கில்போட்டார்கள்; அப்படியே அவர்கள் ஏழுபேர்களும் ஒன்றாக இறந்தார்கள்; வாற்கோதுமை அறுப்பு துவங்குகிற அறுப்புக்காலத்தின் ஆரம்ப நாட்களிலே அவர்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டார்கள்.
And he delivered them into the hand of the Gib'onites, and they hanged them on the mount before the Lord; and they fell, these seven, together; and they were put to death in the first days of harvest, in the beginning of the barley-harvest.
10 ௧0 அப்பொழுது ஆயாவின் மகளான ரிஸ்பாள் சணல்நூல் துணியை எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அதைப் பாறையின்மேல் விரித்து, அறுப்புநாட்களின் ஆரம்பம் முதல் வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள்மேல் மழைபெய்யும்வரை பகலில் ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளோ இரவில் காட்டுமிருகங்களோ அந்த உடல்களைத் தொந்தரவு செய்யாதபடி பார்த்துவந்தாள்.
And Rizpah the daughter of Ayah took sackcloth, and spread out it for herself upon the rock, from the beginning of the harvest until water dropped down upon them out of heaven, and she suffered neither the birds of heaven to rest on them by day, nor the beasts of the field by night.
And it was told to David what Rizpah the daughter of Ayah, the concubine of Saul, had done.
12 ௧௨ தாவீது போய், பெலிஸ்தர்கள் கில்போவாவிலே சவுலை வெட்டினபோது, பெத்சானின் வீதியிலே தூக்கிப்போடப்பட்டதும், கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள யாபேஸ் பட்டணத்தார்கள் அங்கே போய்த் திருட்டுத்தனமாகக் கொண்டுவந்ததுமான சவுலின் எலும்புகளையும், அவனுடைய மகனான யோனத்தானின் எலும்புகளையும், அவர்களிடத்திலிருந்து எடுத்து,
And David then went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Yabeshgil'ad, who had stolen them from the market-place of Bethshan, where the Philistines had hanged them up, at the time the Philistines had smitten Saul at Gilboa':
13 ௧௩ அங்கே இருந்து அவைகளைக் கொண்டுவந்து, தூக்கிப்போடப்பட்டவர்களின் எலும்புகளையும் அவைகளோடு சேர்த்து,
And he brought up from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son; and they gathered up the bones of those that had been hanged.
14 ௧௪ சவுலின் எலும்புகளையும் அவன் மகனான யோனத்தானின் எலும்புகளையும், பென்யமீன் தேசத்து சேலா ஊரிலிருக்கிற அவனுடைய தகப்பனான கீசின் கல்லறையில் அடக்கம்செய்தான்; ராஜா கட்டளையிட்டபடியெல்லாம் செய்தார்கள்; அதற்குப்பின்பு தேவன் தேசத்திற்காகச் செய்யப்பட்ட வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டார்.
And they buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin at Zela', in the sepulchre of Kish his father: and they performed all that the king had commanded. And after that God was entreated for the land.
15 ௧௫ பின்பு பெலிஸ்தர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலர்கள்மேல் யுத்தம்செய்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது தாவீதும் அவனோடு அவனுடைய இராணுவமும் போய், பெலிஸ்தர்களோடு யுத்தம்செய்தார்கள்; தாவீது களைத்துப்போனான்.
And the Philistines had again a war with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David became fatigued.
16 ௧௬ அப்பொழுது முந்நூறு சேக்கல் நிறை வெண்கலமான ஈட்டியைப் பிடிக்கிறவனும், புது பட்டயத்தை கட்டிக்கொண்டவனுமான இஸ்பிபெனோப் என்னும் இராட்சத சந்ததியர்களில் ஒருவன் தாவீதை வெட்டவேண்டும் என்று இருந்தான்.
And Yishbi at Nob, who was of the children of the Raphah, the weight of whose spear was three hundred shekels of copper, he being girded with a new armor, thought to slay David.
17 ௧௭ செருயாவின் மகனான அபிசாய் ராஜாவுக்கு உதவியாக வந்து, பெலிஸ்தியனை வெட்டிக் கொன்றுபோட்டான். அப்பொழுது தாவீதின் மனிதர்கள்: இஸ்ரவேலின் விளக்கு அணைந்துபோகாதபடி, நீர் இனி எங்களோடு யுத்தத்திற்குப் புறப்படவேண்டாம் என்று அவனுக்கு ஆணையிட்டுச் சொன்னார்கள்.
But Abishai the son of Zeruyah succored him, and smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then swore the men of David unto him, saying, Thou shalt go out no more with us to battle, that thou mayest not quench the lamp of Israel.
18 ௧௮ அதற்குப்பின்பு பெலிஸ்தரோடு திரும்பவும் கோபிலே யுத்தம்நடந்தது; ஊசாத்தியனாகிய சிப்பெக்காய் இராட்சத சந்ததியான சாப்பை வெட்டிப்போட்டான்.
And it came to pass after this, that there was again a battle at Gob, with the Philistines: then smote Sibbechai the Chushathite Saph, who was of the children of the Raphah.
19 ௧௯ பெலிஸ்தர்களோடு இன்னும் வேறொரு யுத்தம் கோபிலே உண்டானபோது, யாரெயொர்கிமின் மகனான எல்க்கானான் என்னும் பெத்லெகேமியன் காத் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த கோலியாத்தின் சகோதரனை வெட்டினான்; அவனுடைய ஈட்டிக் கம்பானது நெய்கிறவர்களின் தறிமரம்போல பெரிதாக இருந்தது.
And there was again a battle at Gob with the Philistines, when Elchanan the son of Ya'are-oregim, the Bethlechemite, slew Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20 ௨0 இன்னும் ஒரு யுத்தம் காத் ஊரிலே நடந்தபோது, அங்கே உயரமான ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான்; அவன் கைகளில் ஆறு ஆறு விரல்களும் அவன் கால்களில் ஆறு ஆறு விரல்களும், ஆக இருபத்து நான்கு விரல்களுள்ளவன்; இவனும் இராட்சத பிறவியாக இருந்து,
And there was again a battle in Gath, where was a man of [great] stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, [in all] four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the Raphah.
And he defied Israel; but Jonathan the son of Shim'ah, the brother of David, slew him.
22 ௨௨ இந்த நான்கு பேர்களும் காத்தூரிலே இராட்சதனுக்குப் பிறந்தவர்கள்; இவர்கள் தாவீதின் கையினாலும் அவன் வீரர்களின் கையினாலும் இறந்தார்கள்.
These four were born to the Raphah in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
