2 நாளாகமம் 32
1 ௧ இந்தக்காரியங்கள் நிறைவேறிவரும்போது அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிப் வந்து, யூதாவுக்குள் பிரவேசித்து, பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணங்களுக்கு எதிராக முகாமிட்டு, அவைகளைத் தன் வசமாக்கிக்கொள்ள நினைத்தான்.
After all these acts of faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah. He laid siege to the fortified cities, intending to conquer them for himself.
When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come to make war against Jerusalem,
3 ௩ நகரத்திற்கு வெளியே இருக்கிற ஊற்றுகளை அடைத்துவிட, தன் பிரபுக்களோடும் தன் பராக்கிரமசாலிகளோடும் ஆலோசனைசெய்தான்; அதற்கு அவர்கள் உதவியாயிருந்தார்கள்.
he consulted with his leaders and commanders about stopping up the waters of the springs outside the city, and they helped him carry it out.
4 ௪ அசீரியா ராஜாக்கள் வந்து, அதிக தண்ணீரை ஏன் கண்டுபிடிக்க வேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி, அநேகம் மக்கள் கூடி, அனைத்து ஊற்றுகளையும் நாட்டின் நடுவில் பாயும் ஓடையையும் அடைத்துப்போட்டார்கள்.
Many people assembled and stopped up all the springs and the stream that flowed through the land. “Why should the kings of Assyria come and find plenty of water?” they said.
5 ௫ அவன் திடன்கொண்டு, இடிந்துபோன மதிலையெல்லாம் கட்டி, அவைகளையும் வெளியிலுள்ள மற்ற மதில்களையும் கோபுரங்கள் வரை உயர்த்தி, தாவீதின் நகரத்தினுடைய கோட்டையைப் பலப்படுத்த, திரளான ஆயுதங்களையும் கேடகங்களையும்செய்து,
Then Hezekiah worked resolutely to rebuild all the broken sections of the wall and to raise up towers on it. He also built an outer wall and reinforced the supporting terraces of the City of David, and he produced an abundance of weapons and shields.
6 ௬ மக்களின்மேல் படைத்தலைவரை ஏற்படுத்தி, அவர்களை நகரவாசலின் வீதியிலே தன்னருகில் கூடிவரச்செய்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி:
Hezekiah appointed military commanders over the people and gathered the people in the square of the city gate. Then he encouraged them, saying,
7 ௭ நீங்கள் திடன்கொண்டு தைரியமாயிருங்கள்; அசீரியா ராஜாவுக்கும் அவனோடிருக்கிற ஏராளமான கூட்டத்திற்கும் பயப்படாமலும் கலங்காமலுமிருங்கள்; அவனோடு இருக்கிறவர்களைவிட நம்மோடு இருக்கிறவர்கள் அதிகம்.
“Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged before the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater One with us than with him.
8 ௮ அவனோடு இருக்கிறது மாம்ச புயம், நமக்குத் துணைநின்று நம்முடைய போர்களை நடத்த நம்மோடு இருக்கிறவர் நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாதானே என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களைத் தேற்றினான்; யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா சொன்ன இந்த வார்த்தைகளின்மேல் மக்கள் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தார்கள்.
With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” So the people were strengthened by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
9 ௯ இதன்பின்பு அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிப் தன் முழு படையுடன் லாகீசுக்கு எதிராக முற்றுகை போட்டிருக்கும்போது, யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவிடத்திற்கும், எருசலேமிலுள்ள யூதா மக்கள் அனைவரிடத்திற்கும் தன் வேலைக்காரர்களை அனுப்பி:
Later, as Sennacherib king of Assyria and all his forces besieged Lachish, he sent his servants to Jerusalem with a message for King Hezekiah of Judah and all the people of Judah who were in Jerusalem:
10 ௧0 அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய சனகெரிப் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், முற்றுகை போடப்பட்ட எருசலேமிலே நீங்கள் இருப்பதற்கு, நீங்கள் எதன்மேல் நம்பிக்கையாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்?
“This is what Sennacherib king of Assyria says: What is the basis of your confidence, that you remain in Jerusalem under siege?
11 ௧௧ நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவா நம்மை அசீரியருடைய ராஜாவின் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பார் என்று எசேக்கியா சொல்லி, நீங்கள் பசியினாலும் தாகத்தாலும் சாகும்படி உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கிறான் அல்லவா?
Is not Hezekiah misleading you to give you over to death by famine and thirst when he says, ‘The LORD our God will deliver us from the hand of the king of Assyria?’
12 ௧௨ அவருடைய மேடைகளையும் அவருடைய பலிபீடங்களையும் தள்ளிவிட்டவனும், ஒரே பலிபீடத்திற்கு முன்பாகப் பணிந்து, அதின்மேல் தூபங்காட்டுங்கள் என்று யூதாவுக்கும் எருசலேமியர்களுக்கும் சொன்னவனும் அந்த எசேக்கியாதான் அல்லவா?
Did not Hezekiah himself remove His high places and His altars and say to Judah and Jerusalem, ‘You must worship before one altar, and on it you shall burn sacrifices’?
13 ௧௩ நானும் என் முன்னோர்களும் தேசத்து சகல மக்களுக்கும் செய்ததை அறியவில்லையா? அந்த தேசங்களுடைய மக்களின் தெய்வங்கள் அவர்கள் தேசத்தை நம்முடைய கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்க அவர்களுக்குப் பெலன் இருந்ததோ?
Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of the lands? Have the gods of these nations ever been able to deliver their land from my hand?
14 ௧௪ என் முன்னோர்கள் பாழாக்கின அந்த மக்களுடைய அனைத்து தெய்வங்களிலும் எவன் தன் மக்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்கப் பலவானாயிருந்தான்? அப்படியிருக்க, உங்கள் தேவன் உங்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்கமுடியுமா?
Who among all the gods of these nations that my fathers devoted to destruction has been able to deliver his people from my hand? How then can your God deliver you from my hand?
15 ௧௫ இப்போதும் எசேக்கியா உங்களை ஏமாற்றவும், இப்படி உங்களுக்கு போதிக்கவும் இடங்கொடுக்கவேண்டாம்; நீங்கள் அவனை நம்பவும் வேண்டாம்; ஏனென்றால் எந்த மக்களின் தெய்வமும், எந்த ராஜ்யத்தின் தெய்வமும் தன் மக்களை என் கைக்கும் என் முன்னோர்களின் கைக்கும் தப்புவிக்க முடியாமல் இருந்ததே; உங்கள் தேவன் உங்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பது எப்படி என்கிறார் என்று சொல்லி,
So now, do not let Hezekiah deceive you, and do not let him mislead you like this. Do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my hand!”
16 ௧௬ அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரர்கள் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு விரோதமாகவும், அவருடைய தாசனாகிய எசேக்கியாவுக்கு விரோதமாகவும் இன்னும் அதிகமாகப் பேசினார்கள்.
And the servants of Sennacherib spoke further against the LORD God and against His servant Hezekiah.
17 ௧௭ தேசங்களுடைய மக்களின் தெய்வங்கள் தங்கள் மக்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்காதிருந்ததுபோல, எசேக்கியாவின் தேவனும் தன் மக்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பதில்லையென்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை அவமதிக்கவும், அவருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பேசவும் அவன் கடிதங்களையும் எழுதினான்.
He also wrote letters mocking the LORD, the God of Israel, and saying against Him: “Just as the gods of the nations did not deliver their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand.”
18 ௧௮ அவர்கள் மதிலின்மேலிருக்கிற எருசலேமின் மக்களைப் பயப்படுத்தி, கலங்கச்செய்து, தாங்கள் நகரத்தைப்பிடிக்கும்படி, அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: யூத மொழியிலே மகா சத்தமாகக் கூப்பிட்டு,
Then the Assyrians called out loudly in Hebrew to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, to frighten and terrify them in order to capture the city.
19 ௧௯ மனிதர்கள் கைவேலையினால் செய்யப்பட்டதும், பூமியிலுள்ள மக்களால் தொழுதுகொள்ளப்பட்டதுமாயிருக்கிற தெய்வங்களைக்குறித்துப் பேசுகிறதுபோல எருசலேமின் தேவனையும்குறித்துப் பேசினார்கள்.
They spoke against the God of Jerusalem as they had spoken against the gods of the peoples of the earth—the work of human hands.
20 ௨0 இதனால் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவும் ஆமோத்சின் மகனாகிய ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியும் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து, வானத்தை நோக்கி முறையிட்டார்கள்.
In response, King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz cried out to heaven in prayer,
21 ௨௧ அப்பொழுது யெகோவா ஒரு தூதனை அனுப்பினார்; அவன் அசீரியருடைய ராஜாவின் முகாமிலுள்ள அனைத்து பராக்கிரமசாலிகளையும், தலைவரையும், தளபதிகளையும் அழித்தான்; அப்படியே சனகெரிப் செத்தமுகமாகத் தன் தேசத்திற்குத் திரும்பினான்; அங்கே அவன் தன் தெய்வத்தின் கோவிலுக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கிறபோது, அவனுடைய கர்ப்பப்பிறப்பான சிலர் அவனைப் பட்டயத்தால் வெட்டிப்போட்டார்கள்.
and the LORD sent an angel who annihilated every mighty man of valor and every leader and commander in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he withdrew to his own land in disgrace. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons struck him down with the sword.
22 ௨௨ இப்படிக் யெகோவா எசேக்கியாவையும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்களையும் அசீரியருடைய ராஜாவாகிய. சனகெரிபின் கைக்கும் மற்ற எல்லோருடைய கைக்கும் விலக்கிக் காப்பாற்றி, அவர்களைச் சுற்றுப்புறத்தாருக்கு விலக்கி ஆதரித்து நடத்தினார்.
So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem from the hands of King Sennacherib of Assyria and all the others, and He gave them rest on every side.
23 ௨௩ அநேகம்பேர் யெகோவாக்கென்று எருசலேமுக்குக் காணிக்கைகளையும், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியாவுக்கு விலையுயர்ந்த பொருட்களையும் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; அவன் இதற்குப்பிறகு சகல மக்களின் பார்வைக்கும் மதிக்கப்பட்டவனாயிருந்தான்.
Many brought offerings to Jerusalem for the LORD and valuable gifts for Hezekiah king of Judah, and from then on he was exalted in the eyes of all nations.
24 ௨௪ அந்த நாட்களில் எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டு மரணமடையும்தருவாயில் இருந்தான்; அவன் யெகோவாவை நோக்கி ஜெபம்செய்யும்போது, அவர் அவனுக்கு வாக்குத்தத்தம்செய்து, அவனுக்கு ஒரு அற்புதத்தைக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.
In those days Hezekiah became mortally ill. So he prayed to the LORD, who spoke to him and gave him a sign.
25 ௨௫ எசேக்கியா தனக்குச் செய்யப்பட்ட உதவிக்குத் தகுந்தவாறு நடக்காமல் மனமேட்டிமையானான்; ஆகையால் அவன்மேலும், யூதாவின்மேலும், எருசலேமின்மேலும் கடுங்கோபம் வந்தது.
But because his heart was proud, Hezekiah did not repay the favor shown to him. Therefore wrath came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.
26 ௨௬ எசேக்கியாவின் மனமேட்டிமையினினால் அவனும் எருசலேமின் மக்களும் தங்களைத் தாழ்த்தினதால், யெகோவாவுடைய கடுங்கோபம் எசேக்கியாவின் நாட்களிலே அவர்கள்மேல் வரவில்லை.
Then Hezekiah humbled the pride of his heart—he and the people of Jerusalem—so that the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them during the days of Hezekiah.
27 ௨௭ எசேக்கியாவுக்கு மிகுதியான ஐசுவரியமும் கனமும் உண்டாயிருந்தது; வெள்ளியும், பொன்னும், இரத்தினங்களும் கந்தவர்க்கங்களும், கேடகங்களும், விநோதமான ஆபரணங்களும் வைக்கும்படியான பொக்கிஷசாலைகளையும்,
Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made treasuries for his silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields, and all kinds of valuable articles.
28 ௨௮ தனக்கு வந்துகொண்டிருந்த தானியமும் திராட்சைரசமும் எண்ணெயும் வைக்கும்படியான சேமிப்பு அறைகளையும், அனைத்துவிதமான மிருகஜீவன்களுக்குக் கூடாரங்களையும், மந்தைகளுக்குத் தொழுவங்களையும் உண்டாக்கினான்.
He also made storehouses for the harvest of grain and new wine and oil, stalls for all kinds of livestock, and pens for the flocks.
29 ௨௯ அவன் தனக்குப் பட்டணங்களைக் கட்டி ஏராளமான ஆடுமாடுகளை வைத்திருந்தான்; தேவன் அவனுக்கு மகா திரளான செல்வத்தைக் கொடுத்தார்.
He made cities for himself, and he acquired herds of sheep and cattle in abundance, for God gave him very great wealth.
30 ௩0 இந்த எசேக்கியா கீயோன் என்னும் ஆற்றிலே அணைகட்டி, அதன் தண்ணீரை மேற்கேயிருந்து கீழே தாவீதின் நகரத்திற்கு நேராகத் திருப்பினான்; எசேக்கியா செய்ததெல்லாம் வாய்த்தது.
It was Hezekiah who blocked the upper outlet of the Spring of Gihon and channeled it down to the west side of the City of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all that he did.
31 ௩௧ ஆகிலும் பாபிலோன் பிரபுக்களின் பிரதிநிதிகள் தேசத்திலே நடந்த அற்புதத்தைக் கேட்க அவனிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட காரியத்தில் அவன் இருதயத்தில் இருக்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும் அறிவதற்காக அவனைச் சோதிப்பதற்கு தேவன் அவனைக் கைவிட்டார்.
And so when ambassadors of the rulers of Babylon were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him alone to test him, that He might know all that was in Hezekiah’s heart.
32 ௩௨ எசேக்கியாவின் மற்ற காரியங்களும், அவன் செய்த நன்மைகளும் ஆமோத்சின் மகனாகிய ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் புத்தகத்திலும், யூதா இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் புத்தகத்திலும் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
As for the rest of the acts of Hezekiah and his deeds of loving devotion, they are indeed written in the vision of the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz in the Book of the Kings of Judah and Israel.
33 ௩௩ எசேக்கியா இறந்தபின்பு, அவனை தாவீது வம்சத்தாரின் கல்லறைகளில் முக்கியமான கல்லறையில் அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; யூதா முழுவதும், எருசலேமின் மக்களும் அவன் இறந்தபோது அவனுக்கு மரியாதை செலுத்தினார்கள்; அவன் மகனாகிய மனாசே அவனுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.
And Hezekiah rested with his fathers and was buried in the upper tombs of David’s descendants. All Judah and the people of Jerusalem paid him honor at his death. And his son Manasseh reigned in his place.
