2 நாளாகமம் 21
1 ௧ யோசபாத் இறந்து, தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் தன் முன்னோர்களின் அருகில் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான்; அவனுடைய இடத்தில் அவன் மகனாகிய யோராம் ராஜாவானான்.
And Jehoshaphat went to rest with his fathers, and his body was put into the earth in the town of David. And Jehoram his son became king in his place.
2 ௨ அவனுக்கு யோசபாத்தின் மகன்களாகிய அசரியா, ஏகியேல், சகரியா, அசரியா, மிகாவேல், செப்பத்தியா என்னும் சகோதரர்கள் இருந்தார்கள்; இவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத்தின் மகன்கள்.
And he had brothers, sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; all these were sons of Jehoshaphat, king of Israel.
3 ௩ அவர்களுடைய தகப்பன் வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் விலைமதிப்பான அநேகம் நன்கொடைகளையும், யூதாவிலே பாதுகாப்பான பட்டணங்களையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; யோராம் முதற்பிறந்தவனாக இருந்ததால், அவனுக்கு ஆட்சியைக் கொடுத்தான்.
And their father gave them much silver and gold and things of great value, as well as walled towns in Judah; but the kingdom he gave to Jehoram, because he was the oldest.
4 ௪ யோராம் தன் தகப்பனுடைய அரசாட்சிக்கு வந்து தன்னைப் பலப்படுத்திக்கொண்டபின்பு, அவன் தன்னுடைய சகோதரர்கள் எல்லோரையும் இஸ்ரவேலின் பிரபுக்களில் சிலரையும் பட்டயத்தால் கொன்றுபோட்டான்.
Now when Jehoram had taken his place over his father's kingdom, and had made his position safe, he put all his brothers to death with the sword, as well as some of the princes of Israel.
Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem for eight years.
6 ௬ அவன் இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் வழியிலே நடந்து, ஆகாபின் வீட்டார் செய்ததுபோலச் செய்தான்; ஆகாபின் மகள் அவனுக்கு மனைவியாயிருந்தாள்; அவன் யெகோவாவின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.
He went in the ways of the kings of Israel, and did as the family of Ahab did, for the daughter of Ahab was his wife; and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord.
7 ௭ யெகோவா தாவீதுக்கும் அவன் மகன்களுக்கும் என்றென்றைக்கும் ஒரு விளக்கைக் கட்டளையிடுவேன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனோடு செய்த உடன்படிக்கையின் காரணமாக தாவீதின் வம்சத்தை அழிக்க விருப்பமில்லாமல் இருந்தார்.
But it was not the Lord's purpose to send destruction on the family of David, because of the agreement he had made with David, when he said he would give to him and to his sons a light for ever.
8 ௮ அவனுடைய நாட்களில் யூதாவின் ஆளுகையின்கீழிருந்த ஏதோமியர்கள் கலகம்செய்து, தங்களுக்கு ஒரு ராஜாவை ஏற்படுத்திக்கொண்டார்கள்.
In his time Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah, and took a king for themselves.
9 ௯ அதனால் யோராம் தன் பிரபுக்களோடும் தன் சகல இரதங்களோடும் புறப்பட்டுப்போனான்; அவன் இரவில் எழுந்திருந்து, தன்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்ட ஏதோமியர்களையும் இரதங்களின் தலைவரையும் தோற்கடித்தான்.
Then Jehoram went over with his captains and all his war-carriages ... made an attack by night on the Edomites, whose forces were all round him ... on the captains of the war-carriages.
10 ௧0 ஆகிலும் யூதாவின் ஆளுகையின்கீழிருந்த ஏதோமியர்கள் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிறதுபோல, கலகம் செய்து பிரிந்தார்கள்; அவன் தன் முன்னோர்களின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை விட்டுவிட்டதால், அக்காலத்திலே லிப்னா பட்டணத்தாரும் கலகம்செய்தார்கள்.
So Edom made themselves free from the rule of Judah, to this day: and at the same time Libnah made itself free from his rule; because he was turned away from the Lord, the God of his fathers.
11 ௧௧ அவன் யூதாவுடைய மலைகளின்மேல் மேடைகளை உண்டாக்கி, எருசலேமின் குடிமக்களை வழிவிலகச்செய்து, யூதாவையும் அதற்குத் தூண்டிவிட்டான்.
And more than this, he made high places in the mountains of Judah, teaching the people of Jerusalem to go after false gods, and guiding Judah away from the true way.
12 ௧௨ அப்பொழுது தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய எலியா எழுதின ஒரு கடிதம் அவனிடத்திற்கு வந்தது; அதில்: உம்முடைய முற்பிதாவாகிய தாவீதின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்வது என்னவென்றால், நீ உன் தகப்பனாகிய யோசபாத்தின் வழிகளிலும், யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆசாவின் வழிகளிலும் நடக்காமல்,
And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, The Lord, the God of your father David, says, Because you have not kept to the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or the ways of Asa, king of Judah,
13 ௧௩ இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாக்களின் வழியிலே நடந்து, ஆகாபுடைய குடும்பத்தின் விபசார வழிக்கு ஒப்பாக யூதாவையும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்களையும் விபசாரம் செய்ய வைத்து, உன்னைப்பார்க்கிலும் நல்லவர்களாயிருந்த உன் தகப்பன் வீட்டாரான உன் சகோதரர்களையும் கொன்றுபோட்டதால்,
But have gone in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the people of Jerusalem go after false gods, as the family of Ahab did: and because you have put to death your father's sons, your brothers, who were better than yourself:
14 ௧௪ இதோ, யெகோவா உன் மக்களையும், பிள்ளைகளையும், மனைவிகளையும், உனக்கு உண்டான எல்லாவற்றையும் மகா வாதையினால் வாதிப்பார்.
Now, truly, the Lord will send a great destruction on your people and your children and your wives and everything which is yours:
15 ௧௫ நீயோ உனக்கு உண்டாகும் குடல் நோயினால் உன் குடல்கள் நாளுக்கு நாள் அழுகி விழும்வரை கொடிய வியாதியினால் வாதிக்கப்படுவாய் என்று எழுதியிருந்தது.
And you yourself will undergo the cruel pains of a disease in your stomach, so that day by day your inside will be falling out because of the disease.
16 ௧௬ அப்படியே யெகோவா பெலிஸ்தரின் ஆவியையும், எத்தியோப்பியாவுக்கடுத்த தேசத்தாரான அரபியரின் ஆவியையும் யோராமுக்கு விரோதமாக எழுப்பினார்.
Then the Philistines and the Arabians, who are by Ethiopia, were moved by the Lord to make war on Jehoram;
17 ௧௭ அவர்கள் யூதாவில் வந்து, வலுக்கட்டாயமாகப் புகுந்து, ராஜாவின் அரண்மனையில் கிடைத்த அனைத்துப் பொருட்களையும், அவனுடைய பிள்ளைகளையும், மனைவிகளையும் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; யோவாகாஸ் என்னும் அவனுடைய இளைய மகனைத் தவிர வேறொரு மகனையும் அவனுக்கு மீதியாக விடவில்லை.
And they came up against Judah, forcing a way into it, and took away all the goods in the king's house, as well as his sons and his wives; so that he had no son but only Jehoahaz, the youngest.
And after all this the Lord sent on him a disease of the stomach from which it was impossible for him to be made well.
19 ௧௯ அப்படி நாளுக்குநாள் இருந்து, இரண்டு வருடங்கள் முடிகிற காலத்தில் அவனுக்கு இருந்த கொடிய நோயினால் அவன் குடல்கள் சரிந்து இறந்துபோனான்; அவனுடைய முற்பிதாக்களுக்காகக் கந்தவர்க்கங்களைக் கொளுத்தினதுபோல், அவனுடைய மக்கள் அவனுக்காகக் கொளுத்தவில்லை.
And time went on, and after two years, his inside falling out because of the disease, he came to his death in cruel pain. And his people made no burning for him like the burning made for his fathers.
20 ௨0 அவன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது முப்பத்திரண்டு வயதாயிருந்து, எட்டு வருடங்கள் எருசலேமில் ஆட்சிசெய்து, ஒருவராலும் விரும்பப்படாமல் இறந்துபோனான்; அவனைத் தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் ராஜாக்களின் கல்லறைகளில் அவனை வைக்கவில்லை.
He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he was ruling in Jerusalem for eight years: and at his death he was not regretted; they put his body into the earth in the town of David, but not in the resting-place of the kings.
