1 தீமோத்தேயு 1
1 ௧ நம்முடைய இரட்சகராக இருக்கிற தேவனும், நம்முடைய நம்பிக்கையாக இருக்கிற கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவும் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் அப்போஸ்தலனாகிய பவுல்,
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the command of God our Savior and Sovereign Jesus Christ our hope,
2 ௨ விசுவாசத்தில் உத்தம குமாரனாகிய தீமோத்தேயுவிற்கு எழுதுகிறதாவது: நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய தேவனாலும் நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவினாலும் கிருபையும் இரக்கமும் சமாதானமும் உண்டாவதாக.
to Timothy, true son by faith: Grace, mercy, peace from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 ௩ மாறுபாடான உபதேசங்களைப் போதிக்காதபடிக்கும், விசுவாசத்தினால் விளங்கும் தெய்வீக பக்திவளர்ச்சிக்கு ஏதுவாக இல்லாமல், வாக்குவாதங்களுக்கு ஏதுவாக இருக்கிற கட்டுக்கதைகளையும் முடிவில்லாத வம்சவரலாறுகளையும் கவனிக்காதபடிக்கும், நீ சிலருக்குக் கட்டளையிடும்படி,
You recall that I urged you to remain in Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, in order that you should command certain persons to stop teaching a different doctrine
and occupying themselves with myths and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than the godly training which is by faith.
5 ௫ இந்த கட்டளையின் பொருள் என்னவென்றால், சுத்தமான இருதயத்திலும் நல்லமனச்சாட்சியிலும் மாயமில்லாத விசுவாசத்திலும் பிறக்கும் அன்பே.
Now the goal of that command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith;
some having strayed from these have been turned aside to empty talk,
7 ௭ தாங்கள் சொல்லுகிறதும், தாங்கள் உறுதியாக நம்புகிறதும் என்னவென்றும் தெரியாமல், வேதபண்டிதர்களாக இருக்க விரும்புகிறார்கள்.
desiring to be teachers of the law, not understanding either what they say or the things that they affirm.
8 ௮ ஒருவன் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தை நியாயப்படி கடைபிடித்தால், நியாயப்பிரமாணம் நல்லது என்று அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்.
Now we know that the law is good if one uses it correctly,
9 ௯ எங்களுக்குத் தெரிந்திருக்கிறபடி, நியாயப்பிரமாணம் நீதிமானுக்கு விதிக்கப்படாமல், அக்கிரமக்காரர்களுக்கும், அடங்காதவர்களுக்கும், பக்தியில்லாதவர்களுக்கும், பாவிகளுக்கும், அசுத்தமானவர்களுக்கும், சீர்கெட்டவர்களுக்கும், தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் கொலை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கும், கொலைபாதகர்களுக்கும்,
knowing that law is not made for a righteous person but for lawless and rebellious ones, for ungodly and sinners, for unholy and profane, for father-smiters and mother-smiters, for murderers,
10 ௧0 வேசிக்கள்ளர்களுக்கும், ஆண்புணர்ச்சிக்காரர்களுக்கும், கொத்தடிமைகளாக விற்க மனிதர்களைத் திருடுகிறவர்களுக்கும், பொய்யர்களுக்கும், பொய்யாணை இடுகிறவர்களுக்கும், ஆரோக்கியமான உபதேசத்திற்கு எதிராக போதிக்கிறவர்களுக்கும்,
for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine
as defined by the Gospel of the glory of the blessed God, with which I was entrusted.
12 ௧௨ என்னைப் பலப்படுத்துகிற நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து என்னை உண்மையானவன் என்று நினைத்து, இந்த ஊழியத்திற்கு நியமித்தபடியால் அவருக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன்.
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who enables me, because He considered me faithful, putting me into a ministry;
13 ௧௩ கடந்த காலத்தில் நான் நிந்திக்கிறவனும், துன்பப்படுத்துகிறவனும், கொடுமைப்படுத்துகிறவனுமாக இருந்தேன்; அப்படி இருந்தும், நான் தெரியாமல், விசுவாசம் இல்லாமல் அப்படிச் செய்ததினால் இரக்கம்பெற்றேன்.
I, who was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor and arrogant; but I was shown mercy, because being ignorant I did it in unbelief;
14 ௧௪ நம்முடைய கர்த்தரின் கிருபை கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவின்மேலுள்ள விசுவாசத்தோடும் அன்போடும் சேர்ந்து என்னிடத்தில் பரிபூரணமாகப் பெருகியது.
the grace of our Lord overflowed, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
15 ௧௫ பாவிகளை இரட்சிக்க கிறிஸ்து இயேசு உலகத்திற்கு வந்தார் என்கிற வார்த்தை உண்மையும் எல்லா அங்கீகரிப்புக்கும் தகுதியுள்ளதாக இருக்கிறது; அவர்களில் மோசமான பாவி நான்.
Here is a trustworthy word, worthy of total acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am chief;
16 ௧௬ அப்படி இருந்தும், நித்தியஜீவனை அடைவதற்காக இனிமேல் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவிடம் விசுவாசமாக இருப்பவர்களுக்கு மாதிரியாக இருக்கும்படிக்கு மோசமான பாவியாகிய என்னிடத்தில் அவர் எல்லா நீடிய பொறுமையையும் காண்பிக்கும்படி இரக்கம்பெற்றேன். (aiōnios g166)
precisely for this reason I was shown mercy, that in me, the ‘chief’, Jesus Christ might display all his forbearance, as an example for those who are going to rely on Him into eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
17 ௧௭ நித்தியமாக நிலைத்திருக்கிற அழிவில்லாத கண்ணுக்குத் தெரியாத ராஜனுமாக, தாம் ஒருவரே ஞானமுள்ள தேவனுமாக இருக்கிறவருக்கு, கனமும் மகிமையும் எல்லாக் காலங்களிலும் உண்டாயிருப்பதாக. ஆமென். (aiōn g165)
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
18 ௧௮ என் குமாரனாகிய தீமோத்தேயுவே, உன்னைக்குறித்து முன்னமே சொன்ன தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களின்படியே, நீ விசுவாசத்தையும் மனசாட்சியையும் பற்றிக்கொண்டு நல்லப் போராட்டத்தைப் போராடும்படி, இந்தக் கட்டளையை உனக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கிறேன்.
Son Timothy, I am giving you this charge in accordance with the prophecies about you that lead the way, that in them you may wage the good warfare,
holding on to faith and a good conscience (which some having rejected have suffered shipwreck concerning the Faith;
20 ௨0 இமெனேயும் அலெக்சந்தரும் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள்; அவர்கள் கர்த்த்தரை அவமதிக்காமல் இருக்கக் கற்றுக்கொள்ள அவர்களை சாத்தானிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தேன்.
of whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander—whom I have handed over to Satan that they may be taught not to blaspheme).
