1 தீமோத்தேயு 5
Do not chide a senior, but exhort him as a father; and younger men as brethren:
2 ௨ முதிர்வயதுள்ள பெண்களைத் தாய்களைப்போலவும், வாலிபப்பெண்களை எல்லாக் கற்புடன் சகோதரிகளைப்போலவும் நினைத்து, புத்திசொல்லு.
the elder women as mothers, the younger as sisters, with all purity.
Honour widows who are widows indeed.
4 ௪ விதவையானவளுக்கு குழந்தைகளாவது, பேரன் பேத்திகளாவது இருந்தால், இவர்கள் முதலாவது தங்களுடைய சொந்தக் குடும்பத்தைத் தேவபக்தியாக நடத்தி, பெற்றோர் செய்த நன்மைகளுக்குப் பதில் நன்மைகளைச் செய்யக் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்; அது நன்மையும் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாகப் பிரியமுமாக இருக்கிறது.
But if any widow have children or grandchildren, let these learn first to shew piety at home, and to make suitable returns to their parents: for this is becoming, and acceptable in the sight of God.
5 ௫ ஆதரவற்ற விதவையாக இருந்து தனிமையாக இருக்கிறவள் தேவன்மேல் நம்பிக்கையுள்ளவளாக, இரவும் பகலும் வேண்டுதல்களிலும் ஜெபங்களிலும் நிலைத்திருப்பாள்.
Now she, that is really a widow and desolate, hopeth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
But she that indulgeth to luxury, is dead while she liveth.
These things give in charge, that they may be blameless.
8 ௮ ஒருவன் தன் சொந்த உறவினர்களையும், விசேஷமாகத் தன் குடும்பத்தையும் கவனிக்காமல் இருந்தால், அவன் விசுவாசத்தை மறுதலித்தவனும், அவிசுவாசியைவிட கெட்டவனுமாக இருப்பான்.
But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own family, he hath renounced the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Let not a widow be chosen into the number under sixty years old,
10 ௧0 குழந்தைகளை வளர்த்து, அந்நியர்களை உபசரித்து, பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய கால்களைக்கழுவி, உபத்திரவப்படுகிறவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்து, எல்லா நல்லகிரியைகளையும் கவனமாக செய்து, இவ்விதமாக நற்கிரியைகளைக்குறித்து நற்பெயர் பெற்றவளுமாக இருந்தால், அப்படிப்பட்ட விதவைகளையே விதவைகள் கூட்டத்தில் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்.
having been the wife of one man: in repute for good actions, if she have educated children, if she have entertained strangers, if she have washed the feet of saints, if she have relieved the afflicted, and diligently followed every good work.
11 ௧௧ இளம்வயதுள்ள விதவைகளை அதிலே சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளாதே; ஏனென்றால், அவர்கள் கிறிஸ்துவிற்கு விரோதமாக காமஇச்சைகொள்ளும்போது திருமணம் செய்துகொள்ள விரும்பி,
But the younger widows refuse: for when they grow wanton against Christ, they will needs marry:
and are therefore to be condemned, because they violate their first faith.
13 ௧௩ அதுவுமல்லாமல், அவர்கள் சோம்பலுள்ளவர்களாக, வீடுவீடாகத் திரியப்பழகுவார்கள்; சோம்பலுள்ளவர்களாக மட்டுமல்ல, அலப்புகிறவர்களாகவும், மற்றவர்களுடைய வேலையில் தலையிடுகிறவர்களாகவும், வேண்டாத காரியங்களைப் பேசுகிறவர்களாகவும் இருப்பார்கள்.
And withal being idle they learn to go about from house to house: and are not only idle, but tatlers also and busy-bodies, talking of things unbecoming them.
14 ௧௪ எனவே இளவயதுள்ள விதவைகள் திருமணம்செய்யவும், குழந்தைகளைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவும், வீட்டை நடத்தவும், எதிரியானவன் அவதூறாக பேசுவதற்கு இடம்கொடுக்காமலும் இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறேன்.
I would therefore have the younger widows marry, bear children, manage houshold affairs, and give no occasion to the adversary for reproach.
For some are already turned aside after Satan.
16 ௧௬ விசுவாசியாகிய பெண்ணின் சொந்தத்தில் விதவைகள் இருந்தால், அவள் அவர்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யவேண்டும்; சபையானது ஆதரவற்ற விதவைகளுக்கு உதவிசெய்யவேண்டியிருப்பதால் அந்தச் சுமையை அதின்மேல் வைக்கக்கூடாது.
And if any believer have relations widows, let them relieve them, and let not the church be burdened; that it may relieve those that are indeed widows and desolate.
17 ௧௭ நன்றாக விசாரிக்கிற மூப்பர்களை, விசேஷமாகத் திருவசனத்திலும் உபதேசத்திலும் பிரயாசப்படுகிறவர்களை, இரட்டிப்பான கனத்திற்கு தகுதியுள்ளவர்களாகக் கருதவேண்டும்.
Let the elders, who preside well, be counted worthy of double honor, especially those that labour in preaching and teaching.
18 ௧௮ போரடிக்கிற மாட்டின் வாயைக் கட்டக்கூடாது என்றும், வேலைசெய்கிறவன் தன் கூலிக்குத் தகுதியானவன் என்றும், வேதவாக்கியம் சொல்லுகிறதே.
For the scripture saith, "Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn:" and, "The workman is worthy of his hire."
19 ௧௯ மூப்பனானவனுக்கு விரோதமாக ஒருவன் செய்யும் குற்றச்சாட்டை இரண்டு மூன்று சாட்சிகள் இல்லாமல் நீ ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளக்கூடாது.
Receive not an accusation against an elder, unless from two or three witnesses.
Those that offend reprove before all, that others also may fear.
21 ௨௧ நீ பட்சபாதத்தோடு ஒன்றும் செய்யாமலும், விசாரிப்பதற்குமுன்பு முடிவுபண்ணாமலும், இவைகளைக் காத்துநடக்கும்படி, தேவனுக்கும், கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவிற்கும், தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட தூதர்களுக்கும்முன்பாக, உறுதியாகக் கட்டளையிடுகிறேன்.
I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou keep to these things without preference of persons, doing nothing with partiality.
22 ௨௨ யார்மேலும் சீக்கிரமாகக் கரங்களை வைக்கவேண்டாம்; மற்றவர்கள் செய்யும் பாவங்களுக்கும் உடன்படாதே; உன்னைச் சுத்தமானவனாகக் காத்துக்கொள்.
Lay hands on no man precipitately, and be not hereby a partaker in the sins of others. Keep thyself pure.
23 ௨௩ நீ இனிமேல் தண்ணீர்மட்டும் குடிக்காமல், உன் வயிற்றுக்காகவும், உனக்கு அடிக்கடி வருகிற பலவீனங்களுக்காகவும், கொஞ்சம் திராட்சைரசத்தையும் குடித்துக்கொள்.
Drink no longer water only, but use a little wine with it, for the sake of thy stomach and thy frequent infirmities.
24 ௨௪ சிலருடைய பாவங்கள் வெளிப்படையாக இருந்து, நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு முந்திக்கொள்ளும்; சிலருடைய பாவங்கள் அவர்களைப் பின்தொடரும்.
The sins of some men are notorious, leading as it were to their condemnation; and some more artful they follow after.
25 ௨௫ அப்படியே சிலருடைய நல்லசெயல்களும் வெளிப்படையாக இருக்கும்; அப்படி இல்லாதவைகளும் மறைந்திருக்கமுடியாது.
So also the good works of some are manifest; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
