1 தெசலோனிக்கேயர் 5
But, concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, —ye have, no need, that, unto you, anything be written;
For, ye yourselves, perfectly well know—that, the day of the Lord, as a thief in the night, so, cometh;
3 ௩ சமாதானமும் பாதுகாப்பும் உண்டென்று அவர்கள் சொல்லும்போது, கர்ப்பவதியானவளுக்கு வேதனை வருகிறதுபோல, அழிவு திடீரென அவர்கள்மேல் வரும்; அவர்கள் தப்பிப்போவதில்லை.
As soon as they begin to say—Peace! and safety! then, suddenly, upon them, cometh destruction, —just as the birth-throe unto her that is with child, —and in nowise shall they escape.
4 ௪ சகோதரர்களே, அந்த நாள் திருடனைப்போல உங்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொள்ளத்தக்கதாக, நீங்கள் இருளில் இருக்கிறவர்களில்லையே.
But, ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that, the day, upon you, as upon thieves, should lay hold;
5 ௫ நீங்களெல்லோரும் வெளிச்சத்தின் பிள்ளைகளும், பகலின் பிள்ளைகளுமாக இருக்கிறீர்கள்; நாம் இரவிற்கும் இருளுக்கும் உரியவர்களல்ல.
For, all ye, are, sons of light, and sons of day, —we are not of night, nor of darkness:
6 ௬ ஆகவே, மற்றவர்கள் தூங்குகிறதுபோல நாமும் தூங்காமல், விழித்துக்கொண்டு தெளிந்தவர்களாக இருக்கக்கடவோம்.
Hence, then, let us not be sleeping, as the rest, but let us watch and be sober: —
For, they that sleep, by night, do sleep, and, they that drink, by night, do drink: —
8 ௮ பகலுக்குரியவர்களாகிய நாமோ தெளிந்தவர்களாக இருந்து, விசுவாசம், அன்பு என்னும் மார்புக்கவசத்தையும், இரட்சிப்பின் நம்பிக்கையென்னும் தலைக்கவசத்தையும் அணிந்துகொண்டிருக்கக்கடவோம்.
But, we, being of the day, let us be sober, putting on a breastplate of faith and love, and, for helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 ௯ தேவன் நம்மைத் தண்டிப்பதற்காக நியமிக்காமல், நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து மூலமாக இரட்சிப்படைவதற்கென்று நியமித்தார்.
Because God did not appoint us unto anger, but unto acquiring salvation through our Lord Jesus [Christ]: —
10 ௧0 நாம் உயிரோடிருக்கிறவர்களானாலும், மரித்தவர்களானாலும், அவரோடு நாம் ஒன்றாகப் பிழைத்திருப்பதற்காக அவர் நமக்காக மரித்தாரே.
Who died for us, in order that, whether we be watching or sleeping, together with him, we should live.
11 ௧௧ ஆகவே, நீங்கள் செய்துவருகிறபடியே, ஒருவரையொருவர் தேற்றி, ஒருவருக்கொருவர் பக்திவளர்ச்சி உண்டாகும்படிச் செய்யுங்கள்.
Wherefore be consoling one another, and building up, each the other, —even as ye are also doing.
12 ௧௨ அன்றியும், சகோதரர்களே, உங்களுக்குள்ளே கடுமையாக உழைத்து, கர்த்தருக்குள் உங்களை விசாரணை செய்கிறவர்களாக இருந்து, உங்களுக்குப் புத்திசொல்லுகிறவர்களை நீங்கள் மதித்து,
Now we request you, brethren, —to know them who are toiling among you, and presiding over you, in the Lord, and admonishing you;
13 ௧௩ அவர்களுடைய செயல்களின் அடிப்படையில் அவர்களை மிகவும் அன்பாக நினைத்துக்கொள்ளும்படி உங்களை வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறோம். உங்களுக்குள்ளே சமாதானமாக இருங்கள்.
And to hold them in very high esteem, in love, their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves,
14 ௧௪ மேலும், சகோதரர்களே, நாங்கள் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கிறதென்னவென்றால், ஒழுங்கில்லாதவர்களுக்குப் புத்திசொல்லுங்கள், திடனற்றவர்களைத் தேற்றுங்கள், பலவீனரைத் தாங்குங்கள், எல்லோரிடத்திலும் நீடியசாந்தமாக இருங்கள்.
But we exhort you, brethren—admonish the disorderly, soothe them of little soul, help the weak, be longsuffering towards all:
15 ௧௫ ஒருவனும் மற்றொருவன் செய்யும் தீமைக்குத் தீமைசெய்யாதபடி பாருங்கள்; உங்களுக்குள்ளும் மற்ற அனைவருக்குள்ளும் எப்பொழுதும் நன்மைசெய்ய விரும்புங்கள்.
See that none, evil for evil, unto any, do render: but, evermore, what is good, be pursuing, towards one another, and towards all:
Evermore, rejoice,
Unceasingly, pray,
18 ௧௮ எல்லாவற்றிலேயும் நன்றி சொல்லுங்கள்; அப்படிச் செய்வதே கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிற்குள் உங்களைக்குறித்து தேவனுடைய விருப்பமாக இருக்கிறது.
In everything, give thanks, —for, this, is a thing willed of God, in Christ Jesus, towards you:
The Spirit, do not quench,
Prophesyings, do not despise,
[But], all things, put to the proof—what is comely, hold ye fast:
From every form of wickedness, abstain.
23 ௨௩ சமாதானத்தின் தேவன்தாமே உங்களை முற்றிலும் பரிசுத்தமாக்குவாராக. உங்களுடைய ஆவி, ஆத்துமா, சரீரம் முழுவதும், நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்து வரும்போது குற்றமற்றதாயிருக்கும்படி காக்கப்படுவதாக.
But, the God of peace himself, hallow you completely, and, entire, might your spirit, and soul, and body, —[so as to be] unblameable in the Presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, —be preserved!
Faithful, is he that is calling you, —who, also will perform.
Brethren! be praying for us [also].
Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27 ௨௭ இந்தக் கடிதம் பரிசுத்தமான சகோதரர்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் வாசிக்கப்படவேண்டுமென்று கர்த்தரின்பேரில் ஆணையிட்டு உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
I adjure you, by the Lord, that the letter be read unto all the brethren!
The favour of our Lord Jesus Christ, be with you.
