1 சாமுவேல் 2
1 ௧ அப்பொழுது அன்னாள் ஜெபம்செய்து: “என்னுடைய இருதயம் யெகோவாவுக்குள் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது; என்னுடைய பெலன் யெகோவாவுக்குள் உயர்ந்திருக்கிறது; என்னுடைய எதிரியின்மேல் என்னுடைய வாய் தைரியமாகப் பேசும்; உம்முடைய இரட்சிப்பினாலே சந்தோஷப்படுகிறேன்.
And Hannah prayed and said, "My heart rejoices in Jehovah. My strength rises up in my God. My mouth boasts over my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.
2 ௨ யெகோவாவைப்போலப் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர் இல்லை; உம்மையல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் இல்லை; எங்களுடைய தேவனைப்போல ஒரு கன்மலையும் இல்லை.
Truly, there is no one as holy as Jehovah. Truly, there is no one besides you, nor is there any rock like our God.
3 ௩ இனி மேட்டிமையான பேச்சைப் பேசாதிருங்கள்; அகந்தையான பேச்சு உங்களுடைய வாயிலிருந்து வெளியே வரவேண்டாம்; யெகோவா ஞானமுள்ள தேவன்; அவர் செயல்கள் யதார்த்தமல்லவா?
Do not speak boastfully or let arrogance come out of your mouth, for Jehovah is a God of knowledge. By him actions are weighed.
The bows of the mighty men are broken. Those who stumbled are armed with strength.
5 ௫ திருப்தியாக இருந்தவர்கள் அப்பத்திற்காக கூலிவேலை செய்கிறார்கள்; பசியாக இருந்தவர்களோ இனிப் பசியாக இருக்கமாட்டார்கள்; மலடியாயிருந்தவள் ஏழு பிள்ளைகளை பெற்றாள்; அநேகம் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றவளோ இளைத்துப்போனாள்.
Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread. Those who were hungry are satisfied. Even the barren has borne seven, and she who has many children languishes.
6 ௬ யெகோவா கொல்லுகிறவரும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறவருமாக இருக்கிறார்; அவரே பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கவும் அதிலிருந்து ஏறவும்செய்கிறவர். (Sheol h7585)
Jehovah kills, and makes alive. He brings down to Sheol, and brings up. (Sheol h7585)
7 ௭ யெகோவா தரித்திரம் அடையச்செய்கிறவரும், ஐசுவரியம் அடையச்செய்கிறவருமாக இருக்கிறார்; அவர் தாழ்த்துகிறவரும், உயர்த்துகிறவருமானவர்.
Jehovah makes poor, and makes rich. He brings low, he also lifts up.
8 ௮ அவர் சிறியவனைப் புழுதியிலிருந்து எடுத்து, எளியவனைக் குப்பையிலிருந்து உயர்த்துகிறார்; அவர்களைப் பிரபுக்களோடு உட்காரவும், மகிமையுள்ள சிங்காசனத்தைச் சுதந்தரிக்கவும் செய்கிறார்; பூமியின் அஸ்திபாரங்கள் யெகோவாவுடையவைகள்; அவரே அவைகளின்மேல் உலகத்தை வைத்தார்.
He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill, To make them sit with princes, and inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are Jehovah's. He has set the world on them.
9 ௯ அவர் தமது பரிசுத்தவான்களின் பாதங்களைக் காப்பார்; துன்மார்க்கர்கள் இருளிலே மெளனமாவார்கள்; பெலத்தினால் ஒருவனும் வெற்றிபெறுவதில்லை.
He will guard the feet of his faithful ones, but the wicked will be put to silence in darkness. For no man will prevail by strength.
10 ௧0 யெகோவாவோடு வாதாடுகிறவர்கள் நொறுக்கப்படுவார்கள்; வானத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள்மேல் முழக்கமிடுவார்; யெகோவா பூமியின் கடைசிவரை நியாயந்தீர்த்து, தாம் ஏற்படுத்தின ராஜாவுக்குப் பெலன் அளித்து, தாம் அபிஷேகம் செய்தவரின் பெலனை உயரச்செய்வார்” என்று துதித்தாள்.
Those who strive with Jehovah will be broken to pieces. He will thunder against them in the sky. "Jehovah will judge the farthest parts of the earth. He will give strength to his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed."
11 ௧௧ பின்பு எல்க்கானா ராமாவிலிருக்கிற தன்னுடைய வீட்டுக்குப்போனான்; அந்தப் பிள்ளையோ, ஆசாரியனாகிய ஏலிக்கு முன்பாகக் யெகோவாவுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தான்.
And she went to Ramah, while the child served Jehovah before Eli the priest.
Now the sons of Eli were worthless men; they did not know Jehovah.
13 ௧௩ அந்த ஆசாரியர்கள் மக்களை நடத்தினவிதம் என்னவென்றால், எவனாகிலும் ஒரு பலியைச் செலுத்தும் காலத்தில் இறைச்சி வேகும்போது, ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் மூன்று முனை கூருள்ள ஒரு ஆயுதத்தைத் தன்னுடைய கையிலே பிடித்துவந்து,
The custom of the priests with the people was that when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was boiling, with a fork of three teeth in his hand;
14 ௧௪ அதினாலே, உலோகத்தட்டிலோ, பானையிலோ, மரத்தொட்டியிலோ, சட்டியிலோ குத்துவான்; அந்த ஆயுதத்தில் வருகிறதை ஆசாரியன் எடுத்துக்கொள்வான்; அப்படி அங்கே சீலோவிலே வருகிற இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கு எல்லாம் செய்தார்கள்.
and he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fork brought up the priest took therewith. So they did in Shiloh to all the Israelites who came there.
15 ௧௫ கொழுப்பைத் தகனம் செய்வதற்கு முன்னும், ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரன் வந்து பலியிடுகிற மனிதனை நோக்கி: ஆசாரியனுக்குப் பொரிக்கும்படி இறைச்சிகொடு; பச்சை இறைச்சியே அல்லாமல், வேக வைத்ததை உன்னுடைய கையிலே வாங்கமாட்டேன் என்பான்.
Yes, before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came, and said to the man who sacrificed, "Give meat to roast for the priest; for he will not accept boiled meat from you, but raw."
16 ௧௬ அதற்கு அந்த மனிதன்: இன்று செய்யவேண்டியபடி முதலாவது கொழுப்பைத் தகனம் செய்யட்டும்; பிற்பாடு உன் மனவிருப்பத்தின்படி எடுத்துக்கொள் என்று சொன்னாலும்; அவன்: அப்படியல்ல, இப்பொழுதே கொடு, இல்லாவிட்டால் பலவந்தமாக எடுத்துக்கொள்வேன் என்பான்.
If the man said to him, "Let the fat be burned first, and then take all of it which your soul desires"; then he would say, "No, but you shall give it to me now; and if not, I will take it by force."
17 ௧௭ ஆதலால் அந்த வாலிபர்களின் பாவம் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக மிகவும் பெரிதாக இருந்தது; மனிதர்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய காணிக்கையை வெறுப்பாக நினைத்தார்கள்.
The sin of the young men was very great before Jehovah; for they despised the offering of Jehovah.
18 ௧௮ சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளை சணல்நூல் ஏபோத்தை அணிந்தவனாகக் யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாகப் பணிவிடை செய்தான்.
But Samuel ministered before Jehovah, being a child, clothed with a linen ephod.
19 ௧௯ அவனுடைய தாய் ஒவ்வொரு வருடந்தோறும் செலுத்தும் பலியைச் செலுத்துகிறதற்காக, தன்னுடைய கணவனோடு வரும்போதெல்லாம், அவனுக்கு ஒரு சின்னச் சட்டையைத் தைத்துக் கொண்டு வருவாள்.
Moreover his mother made him a little robe, and brought it to him from year to year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.
20 ௨0 ஏலி எல்க்கானாவையும் அவனுடைய மனைவியையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து: இந்த பெண் யெகோவாவுக்கென்று ஒப்புக் கொடுத்ததற்குப் பதிலாகக் யெகோவா உனக்கு அவளாலே அனேகம் பிள்ளைகளைக் கொடுப்பாராக என்றான்; அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பப் போய்விட்டார்கள்.
And Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, and said, "May Jehovah repay you with offspring by this woman for the gift which she made to Jehovah." And the man returned to his home.
21 ௨௧ அப்படியே யெகோவா அன்னாளுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார்; அவள் கர்ப்பந்தரித்து மூன்று மகன்களையும் இரண்டு மகள்களையும் பெற்றாள்; சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளை யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக வளர்ந்தான்.
Jehovah visited Hannah, and she bore more children, three sons and two daughters. The child Samuel grew before Jehovah.
22 ௨௨ ஏலி மிகுந்த வயதானவனாக இருந்தான்; அவன் தன்னுடைய மகன்கள் இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கெல்லாம் செய்கிற எல்லாவற்றையும், அவர்கள் ஆசரிப்புக் கூடாரத்தின் வாசலில் கூட்டம் கூடுகிற பெண்களோடு தகாதஉறவு கொள்வதையும் கேள்விப்பட்டு,
Now Eli was very old; and he heard what his sons did to the children of Israel (and how that they lay with the women who served at the door of the Tent of Meeting).
23 ௨௩ அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியங்களைச் செய்கிறது என்ன? இந்த மக்கள் எல்லோரும் உங்கள் தீய செய்கைகளைச் சொல்லக்கேட்கிறேன்.
And he said to them, "Why do you do such things as these that I hear being said of you from the mouth of the people of Jehovah?
24 ௨௪ என்னுடைய மகன்களே, வேண்டாம்; நான் கேள்விப்படுகிற இந்தச் செய்தி நல்லதல்ல; யெகோவாவுடைய மக்கள் மீறி நடக்கிறதற்குக் காரணமாக இருக்கிறீர்களே.
No, my sons, do not do this. For it is not a good report that I hear the people of Jehovah spreading.
25 ௨௫ மனிதனுக்கு விரோதமாக மனிதன் பாவம்செய்தால், நியாயாதிபதிகள் அதைத் தீர்ப்பார்கள்; ஒருவன் யெகோவாவுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம்செய்தால், அவனுக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்கிறவன் யார் என்றான்; அவர்களோ தங்களுடைய தகப்பனுடைய சொல்லைக்கேட்காமல் போனார்கள்; அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்வதற்கு யெகோவா சித்தமாக இருந்தார்.
If a man sins gravely against another, he can appeal to Jehovah; but if a man sins against Jehovah, who can intercede for him?" But, they did not listen to the voice of their father, because Jehovah intended to kill them.
26 ௨௬ பிள்ளையாகிய சாமுவேல், பெரியவனாக வளர்ந்து, யெகோவாவுக்கும் மனிதனுக்கும் பிரியமாக நடந்துகொண்டான்.
The child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with Jehovah, and also with men.
27 ௨௭ தேவனுடைய மனிதன் ஒருவன் ஏலியினிடத்தில் வந்து: யெகோவா சொல்கிறது என்னவென்றால், உன்னுடைய முன்னோர்களின் வீட்டார்கள் எகிப்திலே பார்வோனின் வீட்டில் இருக்கும்போது, நான் என்னை அவர்களுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தி,
A man of God came to Eli, and said, "Thus says Jehovah, I plainly revealed myself to the house of your father, when they were slaves in Egypt to the house of Pharaoh.
28 ௨௮ என்னுடைய பலிபீடத்தின்மேல் பலியிடவும், தூபம் காட்டவும், என்னுடைய சமுகத்தில் ஏபோத்தை அணிந்துகொள்ளவும், இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களில் எல்லாம் அவனை எனக்கு ஆசாரியனாகத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, உன்னுடைய முன்னோர்களின் வீட்டார்களுக்கு இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடைய தகனபலிகளையெல்லாம் கொடுக்கவில்லையா?
And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod. And I gave to the house of your father all the offerings by fire of the children of Israel as food.
29 ௨௯ நான் தங்குமிடத்திலே செலுத்தும்படி நான் கட்டளையிட்ட என்னுடைய பலியையும், என்னுடைய காணிக்கையையும், நீங்கள் ஏன் உதைக்கிறீர்கள்? என்னுடைய மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரவேலின் காணிக்கைகளில் எல்லாம் சிறந்தவைகளைக்கொண்டு உங்களைக் கொழுக்கச்செய்ய, நீ என்னைவிட உன்னுடைய மகன்களை ஏன் மதிக்கிறாய் என்கிறார்.
Then why do you look at my sacrifice and my offering with a selfish eye, and honor your sons more than me in letting them eat from the first part of every offering of Israel before me?'
30 ௩0 ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்கிறதாவது: உன்னுடைய வீட்டார்களும் உன்னுடைய முன்னோர்களின் வீட்டார்களும் என்றைக்கும் என்னுடைய சந்நிதியில் நடந்துகொள்வார்கள் என்று நான் நிச்சயமாகச் சொல்லியிருந்தும், இனி அது எனக்குத் தூரமாக இருப்பதாக; என்னை மதிக்கிறவர்களை நானும் மதிப்பேன்; என்னை அசட்டை செய்கிறவர்கள் அசட்டை செய்யப்படுவார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
"Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, says, 'I said indeed that your house, and the house of your father, should walk before me forever.' But now Jehovah says, 'Be it far from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
31 ௩௧ உன்னுடைய வீட்டில் ஒரு முதிர்வயதானவனும் இல்லாதபடி உன்னுடைய பெலனையும் உன்னுடைய தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டின் பெலனையும் நான் வெட்டிப்போடும் நாட்கள் வரும்.
Look, the days come, that I will cut off your descendants, and the descendants of your father's house, that there shall not be an old man in your house.
32 ௩௨ இஸ்ரவேலுக்குச் செய்யப்படும் எல்லா நன்மைக்கும் மாறாக நான் தங்குமிடத்திலே உபத்திரவத்தைப் பார்ப்பாய்; ஒருபோதும் உன்னுடைய வீட்டில் ஒரு முதிர்வயதானவனும் இருப்பதில்லை.
And you will see distress in the dwelling place, in all that he does good with Israel. And there will not be an old man in your house all the days.
33 ௩௩ என் பலிபீடத்தில் சேவிக்க, நான் உன்னுடைய சந்ததியில் நான் அழிக்காதவர்களோ, உன்னுடைய கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகச்செய்யவும், உன் ஆத்துமாவை வேதனைப்படுத்தவும் வைக்கப்படுவார்கள்; உன்னுடைய வம்சத்திலுள்ள எல்லோரும் இளவயதிலே இறப்பார்கள்.
And the man of yours I do not cut off from my altar will be to cause his eyes to fail and to grieve his soul, and all the increase of your house will die by the sword of men.
34 ௩௪ ஒப்னி பினெகாஸ் என்னும் உன்னுடைய இரண்டு மகன்களின்மேல் வருவதே உனக்கு அடையாளமாக இருக்கும்; அவர்கள் இருவரும் ஒரே நாளில் சாவார்கள்.
"'This shall be the sign to you, that shall come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall both die.
35 ௩௫ நான் என்னுடைய உள்ளத்திற்கும் என்னுடைய சித்தத்திற்கும் தகுந்தபடி செய்யத்தக்க உண்மையான ஒரு ஆசாரியனை எழும்பச்செய்து, அவனுக்கு நிலையான வீட்டைக் கட்டுவேன்; அவன் என்னால் அபிஷேகம் செய்யப்பட்டவனுக்கு முன்பாக எல்லா நாட்களும் நடந்துகொள்வான்.
I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in my heart and in my mind. I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before my anointed forever.
36 ௩௬ அப்பொழுது உன்னுடைய வீட்டார்களில் மீதியாக இருப்பவன் எவனும் ஒரு வெள்ளிப் பணத்திற்காகவும் ஒரு அப்பத்துண்டுக்காகவும் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து பணிந்து: நான் கொஞ்சம் அப்பம் சாப்பிட ஏதாவது ஒரு ஆசாரிய ஊழியத்தில் என்னைச் சேர்த்துக்கொள்ளும் என்று கெஞ்சுவான் என்று சொல்கிறார் என்றான்.
It shall happen, that everyone who is left in your house shall come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and shall say, "Please put me into one of the priests' offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread."'"
