1 பேதுரு 3
1 ௧ அந்தப்படி மனைவிகளே, உங்களுடைய சொந்தக் கணவர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்களில் யாராவது திருவசனத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாதவர்களாக இருந்தால், பயபக்தியான உங்களுடைய கற்புள்ள நடக்கையை அவர்கள் பார்த்து,
In like manner, ye wives, —submitting yourselves unto your own husbands; in order that, if any are not yielding unto the word, through their wives behaviour, they may, without the word, be won,
Having been permitted to behold your reverently chaste behaviour, —
3 ௩ முடியைப் பின்னி, தங்க ஆபரணங்களை அணிந்து, விலையுயர்ந்த ஆடைகளை உடுத்திக்கொள்கிற வெளிப்புற அலங்கரிப்பு உங்களுக்கு அலங்காரமாக இல்லாமல்,
Whose adorning, let it be—not the outward, of plaiting the hair and wearing golden ornaments, or putting on of apparel,
4 ௪ அழியாத அலங்கரிப்பாக இருக்கிற சாந்தமும் அமைதியுமுள்ள ஆவியாகிய இருதயத்தில் மறைந்திருக்கிற குணமே உங்களுக்கு அலங்காரமாக இருக்கவேண்டும்; அதுவே தேவனுடைய பார்வையில் விலையுயர்ந்தது.
But the hidden character, of the heart, —in the incorruptible [ornament] of the quiet, and meek, spirit, which is, in presence of God, of great price.
5 ௫ இப்படியே ஆதிக்காலங்களில் தேவனிடம் நம்பிக்கையாக இருந்த பரிசுத்தப் பெண்களும் தங்களுடைய கணவர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்து தங்களை அலங்கரித்தார்கள்.
For, so, at one time, the holy women also, who directed their hope towards God, used to adorn themselves, being in submission unto their own husbands:
6 ௬ அப்படியே சாராள் ஆபிரகாமை ஆண்டவன் என்று சொல்லி, அவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருந்தாள்; நீங்கள் நன்மைசெய்து ஒரு ஆபத்திற்கும் பயப்படாமல் இருந்தீர்களென்றால் அவளுக்குப் பிள்ளைகளாக இருப்பீர்கள்.
As, Sarah, was obedient unto Abraham, calling him, lord, —whose children ye have become—so long as ye are doing good, and not bringing yourselves into fear of any single cause of alarm.
7 ௭ அப்படியே கணவன்மார்களே, மனைவியானவள் பெலவீன பாண்டமாக இருக்கிறதினால், உங்களுடைய ஜெபங்களுக்குத் தடைவராதபடி, நீங்கள் ஞானத்துடன் அவர்களோடு வாழ்ந்து, உங்களோடு அவர்களும் நித்தியஜீவனாகிய கிருபையைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களாக இருப்பதினால், அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டிய கடமைகளைச் செய்யுங்கள்.
Ye husbands, in like manner, dwelling with them according to knowledge, —as unto a weaker vessel, unto the female [vessel], assigning honour, as joint—inheritors also of life’s favour, —to the end that unhindered may be, your prayers.
8 ௮ மேலும், நீங்களெல்லோரும் ஒருமனப்பட்டவர்களும், இரக்கம் உள்ளவர்களும், சகோதரஅன்பு உள்ளவர்களும், மனதுருக்கம் உள்ளவர்களும், தாழ்மை உள்ளவர்களுமாக இருந்து,
And, finally, all, being of one mind, having fellow—feeling, attached to the brethren, of tender affection, of lowly mind:
9 ௯ தீமைக்குத் தீமையையும், அவமானத்திற்கு அவமானத்தையும் செய்யாமல், அதற்குப் பதிலாக, நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வாதத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதற்காக அழைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறவர்கள் என்று தெரிந்து, ஆசீர்வாதம்பண்ணுங்கள்.
Not returning evil for evil, nor reviling for reviling, but, on the contrary, bestowing a blessing, —because, hereunto, have ye been called, in order that, a blessing, ye might inherit.
10 ௧0 ஜீவனை விரும்பி, நல்ல நாட்களைப் பார்க்கவேண்டுமென்று இருக்கிறவன் தீமையானவைகளுக்குத் தன் நாக்கையும், கபடான வார்த்தைகளுக்குத் தன் உதடுகளையும் விலக்கிக்காத்து,
For, he that desireth to love, life, and to see good days, Let him cause his tongue to cease from mischief, and lips, that they speak not deceit;
Let him turn away from mischief, and do good, Let him seek peace, and pursue it;
12 ௧௨ கர்த்தருடைய கண்கள் நீதிமான்களைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது, அவருடைய காதுகள் அவர்களுடைய வேண்டுதல்களைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது; தீமைசெய்கிறவர்களுக்கோ கர்த்தருடைய முகம் எதிராக இருக்கிறது.”
Because, the eyes of the Lord, are towards the righteous, and his ears, unto their supplication, —Whereas, the face of the Lord, is against them that are doing mischievous things.
Who, then, is he that shall harm you, if, for that which is good, ye become zealous?
14 ௧௪ நீதிக்காக நீங்கள் பாடுகள்பட்டால் பாக்கியவான்களாக இருப்பீர்கள்; அவர்களுடைய பயமுறுத்தலுக்கு நீங்கள் பயப்படாமலும் கலங்காமலும் இருந்து;
Nevertheless, even if ye should suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]! Their fear, however, do not fear, neither be troubled;
15 ௧௫ கர்த்தராகிய தேவனை உங்களுடைய இருதயங்களில் பரிசுத்தம்பண்ணுங்கள்; உங்களுக்குள் இருக்கிற நம்பிக்கையைப்பற்றி உங்களிடம் விசாரித்துக் கேட்கிற எல்லோருக்கும் சாந்தத்தோடும், மரியாதையோடும் பதில்சொல்ல எப்பொழுதும் ஆயத்தமாக இருங்கள்.
But, the Lord Christ, hallow ye in your hearts, ready always for a defence, unto every one that is asking you a reason concerning, the hope within you, —nevertheless, with meekness and reverence:
16 ௧௬ கிறிஸ்துவிற்குரிய உங்களுடைய நல்ல நடக்கையை அவமதிக்கிறவர்கள் உங்களை அக்கிரமக்காரர்கள் என்று உங்களுக்கு எதிராகச் சொல்லுகிற விஷயத்தில் அவர்கள் வெட்கப்பட்டுப்போகும்படி நீங்கள் நல்ல மனச்சாட்சி உள்ளவர்களாக இருங்கள்.
Having, a good conscience, in order that, wherein they speak against you, they may be put to shame who cast wanton insult on, your good behaviour in Christ.
17 ௧௭ தீமைசெய்து பாடுகள் அனுபவிப்பதைவிட, தேவனுக்கு விருப்பமானால், நன்மைசெய்து பாடுகள் அனுபவிப்பதே மேன்மையாக இருக்கும்.
For it is, better, as well-doers, if it should please the pleasure of God, to be suffering, than, as evil-doers:
18 ௧௮ ஏனென்றால், கிறிஸ்துவும் நம்மை தேவனிடம் சேர்ப்பதற்காக அநீதியுள்ளவர்களுக்குப் பதிலாக நீதி உள்ளவராகப் பாவங்களுக்காக ஒருமுறை பாடுகள் பட்டார்; அவர் சரீரத்திலே கொலை செய்யப்பட்டு, ஆவியிலே உயிர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்டார்.
Because, Christ also, once for all, concerning sins, died, —Just in behalf of unjust, —in order that he might introduce us unto God; being put to death, indeed, in flesh, but made alive in spirit, —
In which, even unto the spirits in prison, he went and proclaimed, —
20 ௨0 அந்த ஆவிகள், நோவா கப்பலைக் கட்டின நாட்களிலே, தேவன் அதிக பொறுமையோடு காத்திருந்தபோது, கீழ்ப்படியாமல் போனவைகள்; அந்தக் கப்பலிலே எட்டு நபர்கள்மட்டுமே பிரவேசித்து தண்ணீரினாலே காக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
[Spirits] unyielding at one time, when the longsuffering of God was holding forth a welcome in the days of Noah, there being in preparation an ark—[going] into which, a few, that is eight, souls, were brought safely through by means of water, —
21 ௨௧ அதற்கு ஒப்பனையான ஞானஸ்நானமானது, சரீர அழுக்கை நீக்குவதாக இல்லாமல், தேவனைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளும் நல்ல மனச்சாட்சியின் உடன்படிக்கையாக இருந்து, இப்பொழுது நம்மையும் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினுடைய உயிர்த்தெழுதலினால் இரட்சிக்கிறது;
Which [water] in manner corresponding, doth, now, save, you also—even immersion, —not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the request unto God, for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, —
22 ௨௨ அவர் பரலோகத்திற்குப்போய், தேவனுடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் இருக்கிறார்; தேவதூதர்களும், அதிகாரங்களும், வல்லமைகளும் அவருக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
Who is on the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, messengers and authorities and powers, having been made subject unto him.
