And king David [was] old and advanced in days, and they covered him with clothes, and he was not warmed.
2 ௨ அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரர்கள் அவனை நோக்கி: ராஜாவிற்கு முன்பாக நின்று, அவருக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்யவும், ராஜாவாகிய எங்களுடைய எஜமானுக்கு சூடு உண்டாக உம்முடைய மடியிலே படுத்துக்கொள்ளவும் கன்னியாகிய ஒரு இளம்பெண்ணை ராஜாவாகிய எங்கள் எஜமானுக்குத் தேடுவோம் என்று சொல்லி,
And his servants said, Let them seek for the king a young virgin, and she shall wait on the king, and cherish him, and lie with him, and my lord the king shall be warmed.
3 ௩ இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லைகளிலெல்லாம் அழகான ஒரு பெண்ணைத் தேடி, சூனேம் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த அபிஷாகைக் கண்டு, அவளை ராஜாவிடம் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
So they sought for a fair damsel out of all the coasts of Israel; and they found Abisag the Somanite, and they brought her to the king.
4 ௪ அந்தப் பெண் மிகவும் அழகாக இருந்தாள்; அவள் ராஜாவிற்கு உதவியாக இருந்து அவனுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்தாள்; ஆனாலும் ராஜா அவளுடன் உறவுகொள்ளவில்லை.
And the damsel was extremely beautiful, and she cherished the king, and ministered to him, but the king knew her not.
5 ௫ ஆகீத்திற்குப் பிறந்த அதோனியா என்பவன்; நான் ராஜா ஆவேன் என்று சொல்லி, தன்னைத்தான் உயர்த்தி, தனக்கு இரதங்களையும் குதிரை வீரர்களையும், தனக்குமுன் ஓடும் ஐம்பது வீரர்களையும் சம்பாதித்தான்.
And Adonias the son of Aggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king; and he prepared for himself chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
6 ௬ அவனுடைய தகப்பன்: நீ ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்கிறாய் என்று அவனை ஒருபோதும் கண்டிக்கவில்லை; அவன் மிகவும் அழகுள்ளவனாக இருந்தான்; அப்சலோமுக்குப்பின்பு அவனுடைய தாய் அவனைப் பெற்றாள்.
And his father never at any time checked him, saying, Why hast thou done [thus]? and he was also very handsome in appearance, and his mother bore him after Abessalom.
7 ௭ அவன் செருயாவின் மகனாகிய யோவாபோடும், ஆசாரியனாகிய அபியத்தாரோடும் ஆலோசனை செய்துவந்தான்; அவர்கள் அவனோடு இருந்து அவனுக்கு உதவி செய்துவந்தார்கள்.
And he conferred with Joab the son of Saruia, and with Abiathar the priest, and they followed after Adonias.
8 ௮ ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கும், யோய்தாவின் மகனாகிய பெனாயாவும், தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும், சீமேயியும், ரேயியும், தாவீதுடன் இருக்கிற பலசாலிகளும், அதோனியாவுக்கு துணைபோகவில்லை.
But Sadoc the priest, and Banaeas the son of Jodae, and Nathan the prophet, and Semei, and Resi, and the mighty men of David, did not follow Adonias.
9 ௯ அதோனியா என்ரோகேலுக்கு அருகிலுள்ள சோகெலெத் என்னும் கல்லின் அருகே ஆடுமாடுகளையும் கொழுத்த கன்றுகளையும் அடித்து, ராஜாவின் மகன்களாகிய தன்னுடைய சகோதரர்கள் எல்லோரையும், ராஜாவின் வேலைக்காரர்களான யூதாவின் மனிதர்கள் அனைவரையும் அழைத்தான்.
And Adonias sacrificed sheep and calves and lambs by the stone of Zoelethi, which was near Rogel: and he called all his brethren, and all the adult [men] of Juda, servants of the king.
10 ௧0 தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானையும், பெனாயாவையும், பலசாலிகளையும், தன்னுடைய சகோதரனாகிய சாலொமோனையும் அழைக்கவில்லை.
But Nathan the prophet, and Banaeas, and the mighty [men], and Solomon his brother, he did not call.
11 ௧௧ அப்பொழுது நாத்தான் சாலொமோனின் தாயாகிய பத்சேபாளை நோக்கி: நம்முடைய எஜமானாகிய தாவீதுக்குத் தெரியாமல், ஆகீத்தின் மகனாகிய அதோனியா ராஜாவாகிற செய்தியை நீ கேட்கவில்லையா?
And Nathan spoke to Bersabee the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonias the son of Aggith reigns, and our lord David knows it not?
12 ௧௨ இப்போதும் உன்னுடைய உயிரையும் உன் மகனாகிய சாலொமோனின் உயிரையும் காப்பாற்றும்படி நீ வா, உனக்கு நான் ஆலோசனை சொல்லுவேன்.
And now come, let me, I pray, give thee counsel, and thou shalt rescue thy life, and the life of thy son Solomon.
13 ௧௩ நீ தாவீது ராஜாவிடம் போய்: ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானனே, எனக்குப்பின்பு உன்னுடைய மகனாகிய சாலொமோன் ராஜாவாகி, அவனே என்னுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் அமர்ந்திருப்பான் என்று நீர் உமது அடியாளுக்கு ஆணையிடவில்லையா? அப்படியிருக்க, அதோனியா ராஜாவாகிறது என்ன? என்று அவரிடத்தில் கேள்.
Haste, and go in to king David, and thou shalt speak to him, saying, Hast not thou, my lord, O king, sworn to thine handmaid, saying, Thy son Solomon shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? why then does Adonias reign?
14 ௧௪ நீ அங்கே ராஜாவோடு பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, நானும் உனக்குப் பின்வந்து, உன்னுடைய வார்த்தைகளை உறுதிப்படுத்துவேன் என்றான்.
And behold, while thou art still speaking there with the king, I also will come in after thee, and will confirm thy words.
15 ௧௫ அப்படியே பத்சேபாள் ராஜாவின் அறைக்குள் சென்றாள்; ராஜா மிகவும் வயதானவனாக இருந்தான்; சூனேம் ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த அபிஷாக் ராஜாவிற்குப் பணிவிடை செய்துகொண்டிருந்தாள்.
So Bersabee went in to the king into the chamber: and the king was very old, and Abisag the Somanite was ministering to the king.
And Bersabee bowed, and did obeisance to the king; and the king said, What is thy request?
17 ௧௭ அதற்கு அவள்: என்னுடைய எஜமானே, எனக்குப்பின்பு உன்னுடைய மகனாகிய சாலொமோன் ராஜாவாகி, அவனே என்னுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் அமர்ந்திருப்பான் என்று நீர் உம்முடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவைக் கொண்டு, உமது அடியாளுக்கு ஆணையிட்டீரே.
And she said, My lord, thou didst swear by the Lord thy God to thine handmaid, saying, Thy son Solomon shall reign after me, and shall sit upon my throne.
And now, behold, Adonias reigns, and thou, my lord, O king, knowest [it] not.
19 ௧௯ அவன் மாடுகளையும் கொழுத்தக் கன்றுகளையும் ஆடுகளையும் மிகுதியாக அடித்து, ராஜாவின் மகன்கள் அனைவரையும் ஆசாரியனாகிய அபியத்தாரையும், யோவாப் என்னும் படைத்தலைவனையும் அழைத்தான்; ஆனாலும் உமது அடியானாகிய சாலொமோனை அழைக்கவில்லை.
And he has sacrificed calves and lambs and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and Abiathar the priest and Joab the commander-in-chief of the host; but Solomon thy servant he has not called.
20 ௨0 ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானனே, ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானுக்குப் பிறகு அவருடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் அமர்ந்திருப்பவன் யார் என்று தங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்க வேண்டும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அனைவரின் கண்களும் உம்மை பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
And thou, my lord, O king, —the eyes of all Israel [are] upon thee, to tell them who shall sit upon the throne of my lord the king after him.
21 ௨௧ அறிவிக்காமற்போனால் ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமான் மரித்து முற்பிதாக்ககளைப் போல உலகத்தை விட்டு போனப் பின்பு, நானும் என்னுடைய மகனாகிய சாலொமோனும் குற்றவாளிகளாகக் கருதப்படுவோம் என்றாள்.
And it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and Solomon my son shall be offenders.
And behold, while she was yet talking with the king, Nathan the prophet came. And it was reported to the king,
23 ௨௩ தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தான் வந்திருக்கிறார் என்று ராஜாவிற்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்; அவன் ராஜாவிற்கு முன்பாக வந்து முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து ராஜாவை வணங்கினான்.
Behold, Nathan the prophet [is here]: and he came in to the king's presence, and did obeisance to the king with his face to the ground.
24 ௨௪ நாத்தான்: ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானனே, அதோனியா எனக்குப்பின்பு ராஜாவாகி, அவனே என்னுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் அமர்ந்திருப்பான் என்று நீர் சொன்னது உண்டோ?
And Nathan said, My lord, O king, didst thou say, Adonias shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
25 ௨௫ அவன் இன்றையதினம் போய், மாடுகளையும் கொழுத்த கன்றுகளையும், ஆடுகளையும் மிகுதியாக அடித்து, ராஜாவின் மகன்கள் அனைவரையும் இராணுவத்தலைவர்களையும், ஆசாரியனாகிய அபியத்தாரையும் அழைத்தான்; அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு முன்பாக சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து, ராஜாவாகிய அதோனியா வாழ்க என்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.
For he has gone down to-day, and has sacrificed calves and lambs and sheep in abundance, and has called all the king's sons, and the chiefs of the army, and Abiathar the priest; and, behold, they are eating and drinking before him, and they said, [Long] live king Adonias.
26 ௨௬ ஆனாலும் உமது அடியானாகிய என்னையும், ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கையும், யோய்தாவின் மகனாகிய பெனாயாவையும், உமது அடியானாகிய சாலொமோனையும் அவன் அழைக்கவில்லை.
But he has not invited me thy servant, and Sadoc the priest, and Banaeas the son of Jodae, and Solomon thy servant.
27 ௨௭ ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானனுக்குப்பின் தமது சிங்காசனத்தில் அமர்ந்திருப்பவன் இவன்தான் என்று நீர் உமது அடியானுக்குத் தெரிவிக்காமலிருக்கும்போது, இந்தக் காரியம் ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானுடைய கட்டளையால் நடந்திருக்குமோ என்றான்.
Has this matter happened by the authority of my lord the king, and hast thou not made known to thy servant who shall sit upon the throne of my lord the king after him?
28 ௨௮ அப்பொழுது தாவீது ராஜா மறுமொழியாக: பத்சேபாளை என்னிடத்தில் வரவழையுங்கள் என்றான்; அவள் ராஜாவின் சமுகத்தில் வந்து ராஜாவிற்கு முன்பாக நின்றாள்.
And king David answered and said, Call me Bersabee: and she came in before the king, and stood before him.
29 ௨௯ அப்பொழுது ராஜா: உன்னுடைய மகனாகிய சாலொமோன் எனக்குப்பின்பு அரசாண்டு, அவனே என்னுடைய இடத்தில் என்னுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் அமர்ந்திருப்பான் என்று நான் உனக்கு இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா மேல் ஆணையிட்டபடியே, இன்றைக்குச் செய்து தீர்ப்பேன் என்பதை,
And the king swore, and said, [As] the Lord lives who redeemed my soul out of all affliction,
30 ௩0 என்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவை எல்லாப் பிரச்சனையிலிருந்தும் விலக்கி மீட்ட யெகோவாவுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று ஆணையிட்டான்.
as I swore to thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead, so will I do this day.
31 ௩௧ அப்பொழுது பத்சேபாள் தரைமட்டும் குனிந்து ராஜாவை வணங்கி, என்னுடைய எஜமானாகிய தாவீது ராஜா என்றைக்கும் வாழ்க என்றாள்.
And Bersabee bowed with her face to the ground, and did obeisance to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.
32 ௩௨ பின்பு தாவீது ராஜா, ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கையும் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானையும் யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயாவையும் என்னிடத்தில் வரவழையுங்கள் என்றான்.
And king David said, Call me Sadoc the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Banaeas the son of Jodae: and they came in before the king.
33 ௩௩ அவர்கள் ராஜாவிற்கு முன்பாக வந்தபோது, ராஜா அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் ஆண்டவனுடைய வேலைக்காரர்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, என்னுடைய மகனாகிய சாலொமோனை என்னுடைய கோவேறுகழுதையின்மேல் ஏற்றி, அவனைக் கீகோனுக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோங்கள்.
And the king said to them, Take the servants of your lord with you, and mount my son Solomon upon my own mule, and bring him down to Gion.
34 ௩௪ அங்கே ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கும் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும் அவனை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்செய்யவேண்டும்; பின்பு எக்காளம் ஊதி, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் வாழ்க என்று வாழ்த்துங்கள்.
And there let Sadoc the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him to be king over Israel, and do ye sound the trumpet, and ye shall say, Let king Solomon live.
35 ௩௫ அதின் பின்பு அவன் நகர்வலம் வந்து, என்னுடைய சிங்காசனத்தில் அமர்ந்திருக்கும்படி, அவனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு வாருங்கள்; அவனே என்னுடைய இடத்தில் ராஜாவாக இருப்பான்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேலும் யெகோவா யூதாவின்மேலும் தலைவனாக இருக்கும்படி அவனை ஏற்படுத்தினேன் என்றான்.
And he shall sit upon my throne, and reign in my stead: and I have given charge that he should be for a prince over Israel and Juda.
36 ௩௬ அப்பொழுது யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயா ராஜாவிற்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: ஆமென், ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவும் இப்படியே சொல்வாராக.
And Banaeas the son of Jodae answered the king and said, So let it be: may the Lord God of my lord the king confirm [it].
37 ௩௭ ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானோடு எப்படி இருந்தாரோ, அப்படியே அவர் சாலொமோனோடும் இருந்து, தாவீது ராஜாவாகிய என்னுடைய எஜமானுடைய சிங்காசனத்தைவிட அவருடைய சிங்காசனத்தைப் பெரிதாக்குவாராக என்றான்.
As the Lord was with my lord the king, so let him be with Solomon, and let him exalt his throne beyond the throne of my lord king David.
38 ௩௮ அப்படியே ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கும், தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும், யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயாவும், கிரேத்தியர்களும் பிலேத்தியர்களும் போய், சாலொமோனைத் தாவீது ராஜாவினுடைய கோவேறுகழுதையின்மேல் ஏற்றி, அவனைக் கீகோனுக்கு நடத்திக்கொண்டு போனார்கள்.
And Sadoc the priest went down, and Nathan the prophet, and Banaeas son of Jodae, and the Cherethite, and the Phelethite, and they mounted Solomon upon the mule of king David, and led him away to Gion.
39 ௩௯ ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கு தைலக் கொம்பைக் கூடாரத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், சாலொமோனை அபிஷேகம்செய்தான்; அப்பொழுது எக்காளம் ஊதி, மக்களெல்லோரும் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் வாழ்க என்று வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.
And Sadoc the priest took the horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon, and blew the trumpet; and all the people said, Let king Solomon live.
40 ௪0 பின்பு மக்களெல்லோரும் அவன் பின்னே போனார்கள்; மக்கள் நாதசுரங்களை ஊதி, பூமி அவர்கள் சத்தத்தினால் அதிரும்படி மிகவும் பூரிப்பாகச் சந்தோஷித்தார்கள்.
And all the people went up after him, and they danced in choirs, and rejoiced with great joy, and the earth quaked with their voice.
41 ௪௧ அதோனியாவும் அவனோடிருந்த எல்லா விருந்தாளிகளும் சாப்பிட்டு முடித்தபோது, அதைக் கேட்டார்கள்; யோவாப் எக்காள சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டபோது, நகரத்தில் உண்டாயிருக்கிற ஆரவாரம் என்ன என்று விசாரித்தான்.
And Adonias and all his guests heard, and they had [just] left off eating: and Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, and said, What [means] the voice of the city in tumult?
42 ௪௨ அவன் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போது, ஆசாரியனாகிய அபியத்தாரின் மகன் யோனத்தான் வந்தான்; அப்பொழுது அதோனியா, உள்ளே வா, நீ கெட்டிக்காரன், நீ நற்செய்தி கொண்டுவருகிறவன் என்றான்.
While he was yet speaking, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came in: and Adonias said, Come in, for thou art a mighty man, and [thou comest] to bring glad tidings.
43 ௪௩ யோனத்தான் அதோனியாவுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: ஏது, தாவீது ராஜாவாகிய நம்முடைய எஜமான் சாலொமோனை ராஜாவாக்கினாரே.
And Jonathan answered and said, Verily our lord king David has made Solomon king:
44 ௪௪ ராஜா ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கையும், தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானையும், யோய்தாவின் மகன் பெனாயாவையும், கிரேத்தியர்களையும் பிலேத்தியர்களையும் அவனோடு அனுப்பினார்; அவர்கள் அவனை ராஜாவுடைய கோவேறு கழுதையின்மேல் ஏற்றினார்கள்.
and the king has sent with him Sadoc the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Banaeas the son of Jodae, and the Cherethite, and the Phelethite, and they have mounted him on the king's mule;
45 ௪௫ ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கும், தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும், அவனைக் கீகோனிலே ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்செய்தார்கள்; நகரமெல்லாம் அதிரத்தக்கதாக அங்கேயிருந்து பூரிப்போடு புறப்பட்டுப்போனார்கள்; நீங்கள் கேட்ட சத்தம் அதுதான்.
and Sadoc the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him in Gion, and have gone up thence rejoicing, and the city resounded: this [is] the sound which ye have heard.
And Solomon is seated upon the throne of the kingdom.
47 ௪௭ ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர்களும் தாவீது ராஜாவாகிய நம்முடைய எஜமானனை வாழ்த்த வந்து: தேவன் சாலொமோனின் பெயரை உம்முடைய பெயரைவிட பிரபலப்படுத்தி, அவருடைய சிங்காசனத்தை உம்முடைய சிங்காசனத்தைவிட பெரிதாக்குவாராக என்றார்கள்; ராஜா தம்முடைய கட்டிலின்மேல் குனிந்து பணிந்துகொண்டார்.
And the servants of the king have gone in to bless our lord king David, saying, God make the name of Solomon better than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne; and the king worshipped upon his bed.
48 ௪௮ பின்னும் ராஜா: என்னுடைய கண்கள் காண இன்றையதினம் என்னுடைய சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் ஒருவனை வீற்றிருக்கச்செய்த இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் என்று சொன்னார் என்றான்.
Moreover thus said the king, Blessed [be] the Lord God of Israel, who has this day appointed one of my seed sitting on my throne, and my eyes see it.
49 ௪௯ அப்பொழுது அதோனியாவின் விருந்தாளிகளெல்லோரும் அதிர்ந்து எழுந்து, அவரவர் தங்கள் வழியே போய்விட்டார்கள்.
And all the guests of Adonias were dismayed, and every man went his way.
And Adonias feared because of Solomon, and arose, and departed, and laid hold on the horns of the altar.
51 ௫௧ இதோ, அதோனியா ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனுக்குப் பயப்படுகிறான் என்றும், இதோ, அவன் பலிபீடத்தின் கொம்புகளைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் தமது அடியானைப் பட்டயத்தாலே கொன்றுபோடுவதில்லை என்று இன்று எனக்கு ஆணையிடுவாராக என்கிறான் என்றும், சாலொமோனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
And it was reported to Solomon, saying, Behold, Adonias fears king Solomon, and holds the horns of the altar, saying, Let Solomon swear to me this day, that he will not slay his servant with the sword.
52 ௫௨ அப்பொழுது சாலொமோன்: அவன் தன்னை யோக்கியன் என்று காண்பித்தால் அவன் தலைமுடியில் ஒன்றும் தரையிலே விழாது; அவனிடம் தீமை காணப்பட்டால், அவன் சாகவேண்டும் என்றான்.
And Solomon said, If he should be a valiant man, there shall not a hair of his fall to the ground; but if evil be found in him, he shall die.
53 ௫௩ அவனை பலிபீடத்திலிருந்து கொண்டுவர, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் ஆட்களை அனுப்பினான்; அவன் வந்து, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோனை வணங்கினான்; சாலொமோன் அவனைப் பார்த்து: உன்னுடைய வீட்டிற்குப் போ என்றான்.
And king Solomon sent, and they brought him away from the altar; and he went in and did obeisance to king Solomon: and Solomon said to him, Go to thy house.
