ரூத் 4
1 இதற்கிடையில் போவாஸ், பட்டண வாசலுக்குச் சென்று அங்கே உட்கார்ந்தான். அப்பொழுது போவாஸ் முன்பு குறிப்பிட்ட அந்த மீட்கும் உரிமையுடைய உறவினன் அவ்வழியே வந்தான். போவாஸ் அவனிடம், “என் நண்பனே இங்கே வந்து உட்காரு” என்றான். அவனும் அங்குபோய் உட்கார்ந்தான்.
And Boaz hath gone up to the gate, and sitteth there, and lo, the redeemer is passing by of whom Boaz had spoken, and he saith, 'Turn aside, sit down here, such a one, such a one;' and he turneth aside and sitteth down.
2 போவாஸ் பட்டணத்து முதியவர்களில் பத்துபேரை கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, “இங்கே உட்காருங்கள்” என்றான். அவர்களும் உட்கார்ந்தார்கள்.
And he taketh ten men of the elders of the city, and saith, 'Sit down here;' and they sit down.
3 அப்பொழுது போவாஸ் மீட்கும் உரிமையுடைய அந்த உறவினனிடம், “எலிமெலேக் என்னும் நம் சகோதரனுக்குச் சொந்தமான நிலத்துண்டை, மோவாபிலிருந்து திரும்பி வந்த நகோமி விற்கப்போகிறாள்.
And he saith to the redeemer, 'A portion of the field which [is] to our brother, to Elimelech, hath Naomi sold, who hath come back from the fields of Moab;
4 இதை நான் உன் கவனத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவருவது நல்லது என நினைத்தேன். எனவே இங்கு அமர்ந்திருப்பவர்களின் முன்னிலையிலும், என் மக்களின் முதியவர்களின் முன்னிலையிலும் நீ அதை வாங்க வேண்டுமென்று சொல்ல விரும்புகிறேன். நீ அதை மீட்டுக்கொள்ள விரும்பினால் மீட்டுக்கொள். உனக்கு விருப்பமில்லையென்றால் நான் அறியும்படி எனக்குச் சொல். இதை மீட்கும் உரிமை உன்னைத்தவிர வேறொருவனுக்கும் இல்லை; உனக்கடுத்ததாக எனக்கே உரிமையுண்டு. நான் அதை மீட்பேன்” என்றான். அதற்கு அவன், “நான் அவ்வயலை மீட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்” என்றான்.
and I said, I uncover thine ear, saying, Buy before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people; if thou dost redeem — redeem, and if none doth redeem — declare to me, and I know, for there is none save thee to redeem, and I after thee.' And he saith, I redeem [it].'
5 அப்பொழுது போவாஸ், “நீ நகோமியிடமிருந்து அந்த நிலத்தை வாங்கும் அந்த நாளிலே, இறந்துபோனவனின் மனைவி ரூத் என்னும் மோவாபிய பெண்ணையும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவேண்டும். இவ்வாறு இறந்த உன் உறவினன் பெயரையும், அவனுடைய உடைமையையும் பராமரிக்க வேண்டும்” என்றான்.
And Boaz saith, 'In the day of thy buying the field from the hand of Naomi, then from Ruth the Moabitess, wife of the dead, thou hast bought [it], to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance.'
6 அதற்கு அந்த மீட்கும் உரிமையுடைய உறவினன், “அப்படியாயின் அந்நிலத்தை என்னால் மீட்டுக்கொள்ள முடியாது. அப்படி மீட்டுக்கொண்டால், நான் என் சொந்த உடைமையை இழக்க நேரிடலாம். நீயே அதை வாங்கி மீட்டுக்கொள். என்னால் அதை மீட்கமுடியாது” என்றான்.
And the redeemer saith, 'I am not able to redeem [it] for myself, lest I destroy mine inheritance; redeem for thyself — thou — my right of redemption, for I am not able to redeem.'
7 இஸ்ரயேலில் முற்காலத்திலிருந்து வரும் வழக்கப்படி, மீட்கிறதிலும், சொத்துரிமையை மாற்றுகிறதிலும் அதை உறுதிப்படுத்துவதற்கு அடையாளமாக ஒருவன் தன் செருப்பைக் கழற்றி மற்றவனுக்குக் கொடுப்பான். இதுவே இஸ்ரயேலில் சொத்து மாற்றங்களைச் சட்டபூர்வமாக்கும் முறைமையாயிருந்தது.
And this [is] formerly in Israel for redemption and for changing, to establish anything: a man hath drawn off his sandal, and given [it] to his neighbour, and this [is] the testimony in Israel.
8 எனவே மீட்கும் உரிமையுடைய உறவினன் போவாஸிடம், “நீயே அதை வாங்கிக்கொள்” என்று சொல்லி தன் செருப்பைக் கழற்றிப் போட்டான்.
And the redeemer saith to Boaz, 'Buy [it] for thyself,' and draweth off his sandal.
9 அப்பொழுது போவாஸ் அங்கிருந்த பெரியோரையும், மக்கள் எல்லோரையும் பார்த்துச் சொன்னதாவது, “இன்று நான் எலிமெலேக்கிற்கும் அவன் பிள்ளைகளான கிலியோன், மக்லோன் ஆகியவர்களுக்கும் உரிய உடைமைகள் யாவற்றையும் நகோமியிடமிருந்து வாங்கிவிட்டேன் என்பதற்கு, நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் சாட்சிகளாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்” என்றான்.
And Boaz saith to the elders, and [to] all the people, 'Witnesses [are] ye to-day that I have bought all that [is] to Elimelech, and all that [is] to Chilion and Mahlon, from the hand of Naomi;
10 “மக்லோனின் மனைவியாயிருந்த ரூத் என்னும் மோவாபிய பெண்ணையும் நான் என் மனைவியாக, எனக்கு உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்கிறேன். இவ்வாறு இறந்தவனுடைய பெயரை அவனுடைய சொத்துடன் அழியாமல் பராமரிப்பேன். இவ்விதமாக அவனுடைய பெயர் குடும்பத்தின் மத்தியிலிருந்தோ, அல்லது பட்டணத்தின் பதிவேடுகளிலிருந்தோ அழிந்துபோகாதிருக்கும். இதற்கு இன்று நீங்கள் சாட்சிகளாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்” என்றான்.
and also Ruth the Moabitess, wife of Mahlon, I have bought to myself for a wife, to raise up the name of the dead over his inheritance; and the name of the dead is not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place; witnesses ye [are] to-day.'
11 அப்பொழுது முதியவர்களும், பட்டண வாயிலிலிருந்த மற்றெல்லோரும் அவனிடம் சொன்னதாவது: “ஆம்! நாங்கள் சாட்சிகளாய் இருக்கிறோம். உன் வீட்டிற்கு மனைவியாக வரப்போகிற இப்பெண்ணை யெகோவா, இஸ்ரயேலின் வீட்டைக் கட்டியெழுப்பிய ராகேலைப்போலவும், லேயாளைப்போலவும் ஆக்குவாராக! எப்பிராத்தில் செல்வந்தனாயிருந்து, பெத்லெகேமிலே பெயர் பெற்றிருப்பாயாக.
And all the people who [are] in the gate say — also the elders — 'Witnesses! Jehovah make the woman who is coming in unto thy house as Rachel and as Leah, both of whom built the house of Israel; and do thou virtuously in Ephrathah, and proclaim the Name in Beth-Lehem;
12 இந்த இளம்பெண் வழியாக யெகோவா உனக்குக் கொடுக்கவிருக்கும் சந்ததியினரால் உன் குடும்பம் தாமார் யூதாவுக்குப் பெற்றெடுத்த பேரேஸின் குடும்பத்தைப்போல் இருப்பதாக!” என வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.
and let thy house be as the house of Pharez (whom Tamar bare to Judah), of the seed which Jehovah doth give to thee of this young woman.'
13 அப்படியே போவாஸ் ரூத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டான். அவள் அவனுடைய மனைவியானாள். அவர்கள் கணவன் மனைவியாகக்கூடி வாழ்ந்தபோது, யெகோவா அவளைக் கர்ப்பம் தரிக்கும்படி செய்தார். அவள் ஒரு மகனைப் பெற்றாள்.
And Boaz taketh Ruth, and she becometh his wife, and he goeth in unto her, and Jehovah giveth to her conception, and she beareth a son.
14 அப்பொழுது அவ்வூர்ப் பெண்கள் நகோமியிடம், “யெகோவாவுக்குப் புகழ் உண்டாவதாக, அவர் இன்று உனக்கு ஒரு மீட்டுக்கொள்ளும் உரிமையாளனைத் தராமல் விடவில்லை. அதனால் இந்தப் பிள்ளை இஸ்ரயேல் எங்கும் பெயர் பெற்று விளங்குவானாக.
And the women say unto Naomi, 'Blessed [is] Jehovah who hath not let a redeemer cease to thee to-day, and his name is proclaimed in Israel,
15 அவன் உன் வாழ்க்கையைப் புதுப்பித்து, உன் முதிர்வயதில் உன்னை ஆதரிப்பான். உன்மேல் அன்பாயிருக்கிறவளும், ஏழு மகன்களைப் பார்க்கிலும் உனக்கு மிக அருமையானவளுமான உனது மருமகள் அவனைப் பெற்றாளே!” என்றார்கள்.
and he hath been to thee for a restorer of life, and for a nourisher of thine old age, for thy daughter-in-law who hath loved thee — who is better to thee than seven sons — hath borne him.'
16 நகோமி அக்குழந்தையைத் தன் மடியிலே வைத்துப் பராமரித்து வளர்த்தாள்.
And Naomi taketh the lad, and layeth him in her bosom, and is to him for a nurse;
17 அங்கு வாழ்ந்த பெண்கள், “நகோமிக்கு ஒரு மகன் கிடைத்திருக்கிறான்” என்று சொல்லி அவனுக்கு, “ஓபேத்” என்று பெயரிட்டார்கள். அவனே தாவீதின் தகப்பனான ஈசாயின் தகப்பன்.
and the neighbouring women give to him a name, saying, 'There hath been a son born to Naomi,' and they call his name Obed; he [is] father of Jesse, father of David.
18 பேரேசின் குடும்ப அட்டவணை இதுவே: பேரேஸ் எஸ்ரோனின் தகப்பன்,
And these are genealogies of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,
19 எஸ்ரோன் ராமின் தகப்பன், ராம் அம்மினதாபின் தகப்பன்,
and Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminidab,
20 அம்மினதாப் நகசோனின் தகப்பன், நகசோன் சல்மோனின் தகப்பன்,
and Amminidab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,
21 சல்மோன் போவாஸின் தகப்பன், போவாஸ் ஓபேதின் தகப்பன்,
and Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
22 ஓபேத் ஈசாயின் தகப்பன், ஈசாய் தாவீதின் தகப்பன்.
and Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
