ரோமர் 6
1 ஆகவே, நாம் என்ன சொல்லுவோம்? கிருபை பெருகும்படி தொடர்ந்து பாவம் செய்துகொண்டே இருப்போமா?
What then shall we say? are we still to continue in sin that favour may abound?
2 இல்லவேயில்லை; நிச்சயமாய் அப்படி செய்யக்கூடாது. பாவத்திற்கு நாம் இறந்துவிட்டோமே. அப்படியிருக்க, இன்னும் நாம் எப்படி பாவத்தில் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கலாம்?
Far be it! we who have died unto sin, how, any longer, shall we live therein?
3 கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் திருமுழுக்கைப் பெற்றுக்கொண்ட நாம் எல்லோரும், அவருடைய மரணத்துக்குள்தானே திருமுழுக்கைப் பெற்றோம் என்பதை நீங்கள் அறியாதிருக்கிறீர்களா?
Or know ye not that, we, as many as were immersed into Christ [Jesus], into his death were immersed?
4 பிதா தம்முடைய மகிமையினால், கிறிஸ்துவை மரித்தோரிலிருந்து உயிரோடே எழுந்திருக்கச் செய்தார். அதுபோலவே, நாமும் ஒரு புதிதான வாழ்வை வாழும்படிக்கு, திருமுழுக்கின் மூலமாய் மரணத்திற்குள் கிறிஸ்துவுடனே அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டோம்.
We were, therefore, buried together with him through our immersion into his death, in order that—just as Christ was raised from among the dead through the glory of the Father, so, we also, in newness of life should walk.
5 இவ்விதமாய், கிறிஸ்துவின் மரணத்தில் இணைந்துகொண்ட நாம், நிச்சயமாகவே அவருடைய உயிர்த்தெழுதலிலும் இணைந்திருப்போம்.
For, if we have come to be grown together in the likeness of his death, certainly, in that of his resurrection also, shall we be.
6 நம்முடைய பழைய மனித சுபாவம் கிறிஸ்துவுடனேகூட சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்டது என்பதை நாம் அறிவோம்; இதனால் பாவத்திற்கு அடிமையாயிருந்த உடல் அதன் வல்லமை இழந்துபோகும்; நாம் இனியொருபோதும் பாவத்திற்கு அடிமை இல்லை.
Of this taking note—that, our old man, was crucified together with him in order that the sinful body might be made powerless, that we should, no longer, be in servitude to sin;
7 ஏனெனில் யாராவது மரித்தால், அவன் பாவத்தின் வல்லமையிலிருந்து விடுவிக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறான்.
For, he that hath died, hath become righteously acquitted from his sin.
8 இவ்விதமாய், நாம் கிறிஸ்துவோடு மரித்தோமென்றால், நாம் அவருடனேகூட வாழ்வோமென்றும் விசுவாசிக்கிறோம்.
Now, if we have died together with Christ, we believe that we shall also live together with him;
9 கிறிஸ்து இறந்தோரிலிருந்து உயிரோடு எழுந்திருப்பதால், அவர் இனிமேல் இறப்பதேயில்லை. மரணம் அவர்மேல் அதிகாரம் செலுத்தமுடியாது; இதை நாம் அறிவோம்.
Knowing that, Christ having been raised from among the dead, no more dieth, —death, over him, no more, hath lordship, —
10 கிறிஸ்து இறந்தபோது, பாவத்தை முறியடிக்க ஒரேமுறை இறந்தார். இப்பொழுது, அவர் வாழ்கின்ற வாழ்வை, இறைவனுக்கென்றே வாழ்கிறார்.
For, in that he died, unto sin, died he once for all, but, in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 இவ்விதமாகவே நீங்களும், உங்களைப் பாவத்திற்கு இறந்தவர்கள் என்றும், இறைவனுக்காக கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவில் வாழ்கிறவர்கள் என்றும் உறுதியாய் எண்ணிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்.
So, ye also, be reckoning yourselves to be—dead indeed unto sin, but, alive unto God in Christ Jesus.
12 எனவே, அழிந்துபோகிற உங்கள் உடலில் பாவம் ஆளுகைசெய்ய இடங்கொடுக்க வேண்டாம், அதனுடைய தீய ஆசைகளுக்கும் கீழ்ப்படிய வேண்டாம்.
Let not sin, therefore, reign in your death-doomed body, that ye should be obedient to its covetings;
13 உங்கள் உடலின் உறுப்புக்களை அநீதியின் கருவிகளாகப், பாவத்துக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்க வேண்டாம். மாறாக, நீங்கள் சாவிலிருந்து வாழ்வு பெற்றவர்களாய், உங்களை இறைவனுக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுங்கள். உங்கள் உடலின் உறுப்புக்களையும், அவருக்கு நீதியின் கருவிகளாக ஒப்புக்கொடுங்கள்.
Neither be presenting your members as weapons of unrighteousness unto sin, but present yourselves unto God as though alive from among the dead, and your members as weapons of righteousness unto God;
14 பாவம் உங்களை ஆளுகை செய்யாது. ஏனென்றால், நீங்கள் மோசேயின் சட்டத்திற்கு கீழ்ப்பட்டவர்களல்ல, கிருபைக்கே உள்ளானவர்கள்.
For, sin, over you, shall not have lordship, for ye are not under law, but under favour.
15 அப்படியானால் என்ன? நாம் மோசேயின் சட்டத்துக்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிராமல், கிருபைக்கு உட்பட்டிருக்கிறபடியால், பாவம் செய்வோமா? இல்லவேயில்லை; நிச்சயமாய் அப்படிச் செய்யக்கூடாது.
What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law but under favour? Far be it!
16 ஒருவனுக்கு அடிமையாகக் கீழ்ப்பட்டிருக்கும்படி நீங்கள் உங்களை ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கும்போது, நீங்கள் கீழ்ப்படிகிற அவனுக்கே அடிமைகளாயிருக்கிறீர்கள் என்பது உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா? அப்படியே, நீங்கள் மரணத்திற்கு வழிநடத்தும் பாவத்திற்கோ, அல்லது நீதிக்கு வழிநடத்தும் கீழ்ப்படிதலுக்கோ அடிமைகள் ஆகலாம்.
Know ye not that, unto whom ye are presenting yourselves as servants for obedience, servants ye are unto [him unto] whom ye are obedient, whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 ஒருகாலத்தில் நீங்கள் பாவத்துக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருந்தபோதும்கூட, நீங்கள் இறைவனிடமிருந்து பெற்ற போதனைக்கு, உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் கீழ்ப்படிந்தபடியால், இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி.
But thanks be unto God, that—whereas ye were servants of sin, ye became obedient out of the heart unto the mould of teaching into which ye were delivered;
18 இப்பொழுது, நீங்கள் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலையாக்கப்பட்டு, நீதிக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்.
And, being freed from sin, ye were made servants unto righteousness; —
19 நீங்கள் உங்கள் சுய இயல்பிலே பலவீனர்களாயிருப்பதினால், நான் மக்களின் பேச்சு வழக்கின்படியே, இதைச் சொல்கிறேன். ஒருகாலத்தில் நீங்கள் உங்கள் உடலின் உறுப்புக்களை அசுத்தத்துக்கும் தொடர்ந்து பெருகிக்கொண்டுபோகும் தீமைக்கும் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தீர்கள். அதேவிதமாக, இப்பொழுது உங்கள் உடல் உறுப்புக்களை பரிசுத்தத்திற்கு வழிநடத்தும் நீதிக்கு அடிமைப்பட்டிருக்க ஒப்புக்கொடுங்கள்.
In human fashion am I speaking, because of the weakness of your flesh; —for, just as ye presented your members as servants unto impurity and unto lawlessness [for lawlessness], so now, present ye your members as servants unto righteousness for sanctification.
20 நீங்கள் பாவத்திற்கு அடிமைகளாக இருந்தபொழுது, நீங்கள் நீதியின் கட்டுப்பாடுகளிலிருந்து விடுபட்டிருந்தீர்கள்.
For, when ye were servants of sin, ye were free as to righteousness; —
21 இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் வெட்கப்படுகின்ற அந்தக் காரியங்களால், என்ன பலன் அடைந்தீர்கள்? அவற்றின் முடிவு மரணமே!
What fruit, therefore, had ye then—in things for which ye now are taking shame to yourselves? For, the end of those things, is death.
22 இப்பொழுது நீங்கள் பாவத்திலிருந்து விடுதலை பெற்று, இறைவனுக்கு அடிமைகளாயிருக்கிறீர்களே. அதனால், நீங்கள் பெறும் நன்மை பரிசுத்தத்திற்கு உங்களை வழிநடத்தும், அதன் முடிவோ நித்திய ஜீவன். (aiōnios g166)
Whereas, now, having been freed from sin, and made servants unto God, ye have your fruit for sanctification and, the end, life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
