சங்கீதம் 135

1 யெகோவாவைத் துதியுங்கள். யெகோவாவினுடைய பெயரைத் துதியுங்கள்; யெகோவாவின் பணியாட்களே, நீங்கள் அவரைத் துதியுங்கள்,

Praise Yahweh! You who (do work for/serve) Yahweh, praise him!

2 நமது இறைவனுடைய ஆலய முற்றங்களிலும், யெகோவாவினுடைய ஆலயத்திலும் ஊழியம் செய்கிறவர்களே, நீங்கள் அவரைத் துதியுங்கள்.

You who stand in the temple of Yahweh our God and in the surrounding courtyard, praise him [MTY]!

3 யெகோவாவைத் துதியுங்கள், யெகோவா நல்லவர்; அவருடைய பெயருக்குத் துதி பாடுங்கள், அது இனிமையானது.

Praise Yahweh, because he does good things [for us]; sing to him [MTY], because he is kind [to us].

4 ஏனெனில் யெகோவா யாக்கோபைத் தமக்குச் சொந்தமாயிருக்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொண்டார்; இஸ்ரயேலரைத் தமது அருமைச் சொத்தாய் இருக்கும்படி தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.

He has chosen [us, the descendants of] Jacob; he has chosen [us] Israelis to belong to him [DOU].

5 யெகோவா பெரியவர் என்றும், நமது யெகோவா எல்லாத் தெய்வங்களைப் பார்க்கிலும், மேலானவர் என்பதையும் நான் அறிவேன்.

I know that Yahweh is great; he is greater than all the gods.

6 வானத்திலும் பூமியிலும், கடல்களிலும், அவைகளின் எல்லா ஆழங்களிலும் யெகோவா தமக்கு விருப்பமான எதையும் செய்கிறார்.

Yahweh does whatever he desires to do, in heaven and on the earth and in the seas/oceans, [down] to the bottom of the seas.

7 அவர் பூமியின் கடைசியிலிருந்து மேகங்களை எழும்பச் செய்கிறார்; மழையுடன் மின்னலையும் அவர் அனுப்புகிறார், காற்றை தமது சேமிப்புக்கிடங்கிலிருந்து வெளியே புறப்படச்செய்கிறார்.

He is the one who causes clouds to appear from very distant places on the earth; he sends lightning with the rain, and he brings the winds from the places where he stores them.

8 அவர் எகிப்தின் முதற்பேறுகளை அழித்தார், மனிதரின் முதற்பேறுகளையும் மிருகங்களின் தலையீற்றுகளையும் அழித்தார்.

He is the one who killed [all] the firstborn [males] in Egypt, the firstborn of people and of animals.

9 எகிப்தே, பார்வோனுக்கும் அவனுடைய எல்லா பணியாட்களுக்கும் விரோதமாக அவர் தம்முடைய அடையாளங்களையும் அதிசயங்களையும் உன் மத்தியில் அனுப்பினாரே.

There he performed many kinds of miracles [DOU] to punish the king and all his officials.

10 அவர் அநேக நாடுகளைத் தாக்கினார், வலிமைமிக்க அரசர்களைக் கொன்றார்;

He destroyed many nations and the powerful kings [who ruled them]:

11 எமோரியரின் அரசன் சீகோனையும், பாசானின் அரசன் ஓகையும், கானானின் அரசர்கள் எல்லோரையும் அழித்தார்,

Sihon, the king of the Amor people-group, and Og, the king of Bashan [region], and all the other kings in Canaan [land].

12 அவர் அவர்களுடைய நாட்டை உரிமைச்சொத்தாக, தமது மக்களாகிய இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு உரிமைச்சொத்தாகக் கொடுத்தார்.

Then he gave their land to [us] Israeli people to belong to us [forever].

13 யெகோவாவே, உமது பெயர் என்றென்றைக்கும் நிலைக்கிறது; யெகோவாவே, உமது புகழ் தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக நிலைக்கும்.

Yahweh your name will endure forever, and people who are not yet born will remember the great things [that you have done].

14 யெகோவா தம் மக்களின் நியாயத்தை விசாரித்து, தம் அடியார்கள்மேல் இரக்கங்காட்டுவார்.

Yahweh, [you] declare that we your people (are innocent/have not done things that are wrong), and you are merciful to us.

15 பிறநாடுகளின் விக்கிரகங்கள் வெள்ளியும் தங்கமும், மனிதருடைய கைகளினால் செய்யப்பட்டதுமாய் இருக்கிறது.

But the idols that the [other] people-groups [worship] are only [statues made of] silver and gold, things that humans have made.

16 அவைகளுக்கு வாயிருந்தும் பேசாது; அவைகளுக்குக் கண்களிருந்தும் காணாது.

Their idols have mouths, but they cannot say [anything]; they have eyes, but they cannot see [anything].

17 அவைகளுக்குக் காதுகளிருந்தும் கேளாது, அவைகளுடைய வாயிலே சுவாசமுமில்லை.

They have ears, but they cannot hear [anything], and they are not [even able to] breathe.

18 அவைகளைச் செய்கிறவர்களும், அவைகளை நம்புகிற எல்லோரும் அவைகளைப்போலவே இருக்கிறார்கள்.

The people who make those idols are as [powerless as] those idols, and those who trust in those idols [can accomplish no more than] their idols can!

19 இஸ்ரயேல் குடும்பத்தாரே, யெகோவாவைத் துதியுங்கள்; ஆரோன் குடும்பத்தாரே, யெகோவாவைத் துதியுங்கள்;

[My fellow] Israelis, praise Yahweh! You [priests] who are descended from Aaron, praise Yahweh!

20 லேவி குடும்பத்தாரே, யெகோவாவைத் துதியுங்கள்; அவருக்குப் பயந்து நடக்கிறவர்களே, யெகோவாவைத் துதியுங்கள்.

You [men] who are descended from Levi, [you who assist the priests], praise Yahweh! [All] you who revere Yahweh, praise him!

21 எருசலேமில் குடிகொண்டிருக்கும் யெகோவாவுக்கு, சீயோனிலிருந்து துதி உண்டாகட்டும். யெகோவாவைத் துதியுங்கள்.

Praise Yahweh in [the temple on] Zion [Hill] in Jerusalem, where he lives! Praise Yahweh!
