சங்கீதம் 129

1 சீயோன் மலை ஏறும்போது பாடும் பாடல். “என் வாலிப காலத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் என்னை மிகவும் ஒடுக்கினார்கள்” என்று இஸ்ரயேலர் சொல்லட்டும்;

A Canticle in steps. They have often fought against me from my youth, let Israel now say:

2 “என் வாலிப காலத்திலிருந்து அவர்கள் என்னை மிகவும் ஒடுக்கினார்கள், ஆனாலும் அவர்களால் என்மேல் வெற்றிகொள்ள முடியவில்லை.

they have often fought against me from my youth, yet they could not prevail over me.

3 உழுகிறவர்கள் என்னுடைய முதுகின்மேல் உழுது, தங்களுடைய வரப்புகளை நீளமாக்கினார்கள்.

The sinners have made fabrications behind my back. They have prolonged their iniquity.

4 ஆனாலும் யெகோவா நீதியுள்ளவர்; அவர் கொடியவர்களின் கட்டுகளை அறுத்து, என்னை விடுதலையாக்கினார்.”

The just Lord will cut the necks of sinners.

5 சீயோனை வெறுக்கிற அனைவரும் வெட்கப்பட்டுத் திரும்பிப் போகட்டும்.

Let all those who hate Zion be confounded and turned backwards.

6 அவர்கள் வீட்டுக்கூரையில் முளைக்கும் புல்லைப்போல் ஆகட்டும்; அது வளரும் முன்பு வாடிப்போகுமே.

Let them be like grass on the rooftops, which withers before it can be pulled up:

7 அறுவடை செய்கிறவன் அவற்றால் தன் கைகளை நிரப்பிக்கொள்ள முடியாது; அவற்றைச் சேர்க்கிறவனும் தன் கைகளை நிரப்பிக்கொள்ள முடியாது.

with it, he who reaps does not fill his hand and he who gathers sheaves does not fill his bosom.

8 வழிப்போக்கர்கள் அவர்களிடம், “யெகோவாவின் ஆசீர்வாதம் உங்கள்மேல் இருக்கட்டும்; யெகோவாவின் பெயரினால் நாங்கள் உங்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறோம்” என்றும் சொல்லாதிருக்கட்டும்.

And those who were passing by have not said to them: “The blessing of the Lord be upon you. We have blessed you in the name of the Lord.”
