சங்கீதம் 124

1 சீயோன் மலை ஏறும்போது பாடும் தாவீதின் பாடல். யெகோவா நமது பக்கத்தில் இல்லாவிட்டால், இதை இஸ்ரயேலர் சொல்லட்டும்:

A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. BY DAVID. If YHWH had not been for us (Pray, let Israel say),

2 மனிதர் நம்மை தாக்கும்போது யெகோவா தாமே நமது பக்கத்தில் இல்லாவிட்டால்,

If YHWH had not been for us, In the rising up of man against us,

3 அவர்கள் கோபம் நமக்கு எதிராகப் பற்றியெரிந்தபோது, அவர்கள் நம்மை உயிருடன் விழுங்கியிருப்பார்களே;

Then they had swallowed us alive, In the burning of their anger against us,

4 வெள்ளம் நம்மை மூழ்கடித்திருக்குமே, நீரோட்டம் நம்மீது புரண்டு ஓடியிருக்குமே,

Then the waters had overflowed us, The stream passed over our soul,

5 பொங்கி வந்த வெள்ளம் நம்மீது பாய்ந்தோடியிருக்குமே.

Then proud waters had passed over our soul.

6 அவர்கள் நம்மை பற்களால் கிழித்துப்போட இடமளிக்காத யெகோவாவுக்குத் துதி உண்டாகட்டும்.

Blessed [is] YHWH who has not given us, [As] prey to their teeth.

7 வேடனுடைய கண்ணியிலிருந்து தப்பின பறவையைப்போல் நாம் தப்பிப் பிழைத்தோம்; கண்ணி அறுந்தது, நாம் தப்பினோம்.

Our soul has escaped as a bird from a snare of fowlers, The snare was broken, and we have escaped.

8 வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவரான யெகோவாவினுடைய பெயரிலே நமக்கு உதவி உண்டு.

Our help [is] in the Name of YHWH, Maker of the heavens and earth!
