சங்கீதம் 121

1 சீயோன் மலை ஏறும்போது பாடும் பாடல். மலைகளுக்கு நேராக என் கண்களை உயர்த்துகிறேன். எங்கிருந்து எனக்கு உதவி வரும்?

[When we travel toward Jerusalem], I look up toward the hills [and I ask myself], “Who will help me?”

2 வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் படைத்தவரான யெகோவாவிடமிருந்தே, எனக்கு உதவி வரும்.

[And my answer is] that Yahweh is the one who helps me; he is the one who made heaven and the earth.

3 அவர் உன் காலைச் சறுக்கவிடமாட்டார்; உன்னைக் காக்கும் அவர் உறங்கமாட்டார்.

He will not allow us to fall/stumble; God, who protects us, will not fall asleep.

4 இதோ, இஸ்ரயேலைக் காக்கிறவர், உறங்குகிறதுமில்லை தூங்குகிறதுமில்லை.

The one who protects us Israeli people never gets sleepy, nor does he sleep [LIT].

5 யெகோவா உன்னைக் காக்கிறவர்; யெகோவா உன் வலப்பக்கத்திலே உனக்கு நிழலாக இருக்கிறார்.

Yahweh watches over us; he is like the shade [MET] [that protects us from the sun].

6 பகலில் சூரியனோ, இரவில் சந்திரனோ உனக்குத் தீங்கு செய்யாது.

[He will not allow] the sun to harm us during the day, and [he will not allow] the moon to harm us during the night.

7 யெகோவா உன்னை எல்லாத் தீங்கிலிருந்தும் காப்பார்; அவர் உன் வாழ்வைக் காப்பார்.

Yahweh will protect us from being harmed in any manner; he will keep us safe.

8 யெகோவா உன் போக்கையும் வரத்தையும் இப்பொழுதும் எப்பொழுதும் காப்பார்.

He will protect us from the time that we leave [our houses in the morning] until we return [in the evening]; he will protect us now, and he will protect us forever.
