சங்கீதம் 120

1 சீயோன் மலை ஏறும்போது பாடும் பாடல். நான் என் துன்பத்தில் யெகோவாவை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுகிறேன்; அவர் எனக்குப் பதிலளிக்கிறார்.

“A song of the degrees.” Unto the Lord, when I was in distress, did I call, and he hath answered me.

2 யெகோவாவே, பொய்ப் பேசுகிற உதடுகளிலிருந்தும், வஞ்சக நாவுகளிலிருந்தும் என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்.

O Lord, deliver my soul from lips of falsehood, and from a tongue of deceit.

3 வஞ்சக நாவே, இறைவன் உனக்குச் செய்யப்போவது என்ன? அதற்கு மேலும் உனக்கு என்னதான் கிடைக்கும்?

What will [God] give unto thee? or what will he add unto thee, thou tongue of deceit?

4 போர்வீரனின் கூர்மையான அம்புகளினாலும், சூரைச்செடிகளை எரிக்கும் நெருப்புத் தழல்களினாலும் அவர் உன்னைத் தண்டிப்பார்.

Sharpened arrows of the mighty, with coals of the broom-bush.

5 ஐயோ, எனக்குக் கேடு! நான் மேசேக்கிலே வேறுநாட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவனாய் குடியிருக்கிறேனே; கேதாரின் கூடாரங்களில் வாழ்கிறேனே!

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 சமாதானத்தை வெறுக்கிறவர்கள் மத்தியில் நான் நெடுநாள் வாழ வேண்டியதாயிற்று.

Too long for herself hath my soul dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7 நான் சமாதானத்தை நாடுகிறேன்; அவர்களோ, நான் பேசும்போது யுத்தத்தையே தேடுகிறார்கள்.

I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
