நீதிமொழிகள் 3
1 என் மகனே, என் போதனைகளை மறவாதே, என் கட்டளைகளை உன் இருதயத்தில் வைத்துக்கொள்.
My son, forget not my teaching; but let thy heart keep my commandments;
2 அவை உனக்கு நீண்ட ஆயுளையும், சமாதான வாழ்வையும் கொண்டுவரும்.
For length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to thee.
3 அன்பும் உண்மையும் உன்னைவிட்டு ஒருபோதும் விலகாதிருப்பதாக; அவற்றை உன் கழுத்திலே அணிந்து, உன் இருதயத்தில் எழுதி வைத்துக்கொள்.
Let not kindness and truth forsake thee; bind them about thy neck, write them upon the table of thy heart;
4 அப்பொழுது நீ இறைவனின் பார்வையிலும் மனிதனின் பார்வையிலும் தயவையும் நற்பெயரையும் பெறுவாய்.
So shalt thou find grace and good favour in the sight of God and man.
5 உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் யெகோவாவிடம் நம்பிக்கைவை, உன் சொந்த அறிவை மட்டுமே சார்ந்திராதே.
Trust in the LORD with all thy heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding.
6 நீ செய்யும் எல்லாவற்றிலும் யெகோவாவுக்கே அடங்கியிரு, அவர் உன்னை சரியான பாதையில் நடத்துவார்.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.
7 உன்னை ஞானியென்று என்று நீயே எண்ணிக்கொள்ளாதே; யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்து தீமையைவிட்டு விலகு.
Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the LORD, and depart from evil;
8 அது உன் உடலுக்கு சுகத்தையும், உனது எலும்புகளுக்கு ஊட்டத்தையும் கொடுக்கும்.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 நீ உன் செல்வத்தினாலும், உனது எல்லா விளைச்சலின் முதற்பலனினாலும் யெகோவாவைக் கனம்பண்ணு.
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first-fruits of all thine increase;
10 அப்பொழுது தானியத்தால் உன் களஞ்சியங்கள் நிரம்பியிருக்கும்; திராட்சை இரசத்தினால் உன் தொட்டிகள் நிரம்பிவழியும்.
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy vats shall overflow with new wine.
11 என் மகனே, யெகோவாவினுடைய கண்டிப்பைத் தள்ளிவிடாதே; அவர் கடிந்துகொள்ளும்போது கோபங்கொள்ளாதே.
My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD, neither spurn thou His correction;
12 ஏனெனில் ஒரு தகப்பன் தனது அருமை மகனை கண்டித்துத் திருத்துவதுபோல், யெகோவா யாரை நேசிக்கிறாரோ அவர்களைக் கண்டித்துத் திருத்துகிறார்.
For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth, even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 ஞானத்தை அடைகிறவர்களும், புரிந்துகொள்ளுதலைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறவர்களும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள்.
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that obtaineth understanding.
14 ஏனெனில் ஞானம் வெள்ளியைவிட மேலானது, தங்கத்தைவிடப் பயனுள்ளது.
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 அது பவளங்களைவிட பெருமதிப்புள்ளது; நீ விரும்புகிற எதற்கும் அது நிகரல்ல.
She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 அதின் வலதுகையில் நீண்ட ஆயுளும் இருக்கிறது; அதின் இடதுகையில் செல்வமும் கனமும் இருக்கின்றன.
Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour.
17 அதின் வழிகள் இன்பமானது; அதின் பாதைகள் எல்லாம் சமாதானமானவை.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 அதை அணைத்துக் கொள்கிறவர்களுக்கு அது வாழ்வு கொடுக்கும் மரம், அதனைப் பற்றிக்கொள்கிறவர்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படுவார்கள்.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and happy is every one that holdest her fast.
19 யெகோவா ஞானத்தினால் பூமிக்கு அஸ்திபாரமிட்டார், அவருடைய புரிந்துகொள்ளுதலினால் வானங்களை அமைத்தார்;
The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens.
20 அவருடைய அறிவினால் ஆழங்கள் பிரிக்கப்பட்டன, மேகங்கள் பனித்துளியை விழப்பண்ணின.
By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
21 என் மகனே, ஞானத்தையும் புரிந்துகொள்ளுதலையும் உன் பார்வையிலிருந்து விலகவிடாதே, சரியான நிதானிப்பையும் அறிவுடைமையையும் காத்துக்கொள்.
My son, let not them depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion;
22 அவை உனக்கு வாழ்வாகவும், உன் கழுத்துக்கு அலங்காரமாகவும் இருக்கும்.
So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 அப்பொழுது நீ உன் வழியில் பாதுகாப்புடன் போவாய்; உன் கால்களும் இடறாது.
Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, and thou shalt not dash thy foot.
24 நீ படுத்திருக்கும்போது பயப்படமாட்டாய்; நீ படுக்கும்போது உன் நித்திரை இன்பமாக இருக்கும்.
When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid; yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 திடீரென வரும் பேராபத்திற்கும் கொடியவர்கள்மேல் வரும் அழிவுக்கும் நீ பயப்படவேண்டாம்.
Be not afraid of sudden terror, neither of the destruction of the wicked, when it cometh;
26 யெகோவா உனது நம்பிக்கையாயிருப்பார்; அவர் உன் கால் இடறாமல் காப்பார்.
For the LORD will be thy confidence, and will keep thy foot from being caught.
27 நன்மைசெய்ய உன்னால் இயலும்போது, அதை பெறத்தக்கவர்களுக்கு கொடுக்காமல் விடாதே.
Withhold not good from him to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thy hand to do it.
28 உன்னிடம் இருக்கும்போதே, உன் அயலவனிடம், “போய்வா; நாளைக்கு உனக்குத் தருவேன்” எனச் சொல்லாதே.
Say not unto thy neighbour: 'Go, and come again, and to-morrow I will give'; when thou hast it by thee.
29 உன் அருகே நம்பிக்கையுடன் வாழும் அயலவனுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சூழ்ச்சி செய்யாதே.
Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 ஒருவர் உனக்கு ஒரு தீங்கும் செய்யாதபோது காரணம் இல்லாமல் அவர்கள்மேல் குற்றம் சாட்டாதே.
Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 வன்முறையாளர்மேல் பொறாமை கொள்ளாதே; அவர்களுடைய வழிகளில் எதையும் தெரிந்தெடுக்காதே.
Envy thou not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways.
32 ஏனெனில் நேர்மையற்றவர்களை யெகோவா அருவருக்கிறார்; ஆனால் நீதிமான்கள்மேல் தனது நம்பிக்கையை வைத்திருக்கிறார்.
For the perverse is an abomination to the LORD; but His counsel is with the upright.
33 கொடியவர்களின் வீட்டின்மேல் யெகோவாவின் சாபம் இருக்கும், ஆனால் நீதிமான்களுடைய வீட்டிலோ, அவருடைய ஆசீர்வாதம் இருக்கும்.
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked; but He blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
34 பெருமைகொண்ட பரியாசக்காரர்களை யெகோவா ஏளனம் செய்கிறார்; ஆனால் தாழ்மையுள்ளவர்களுக்கோ, கிருபையைக் கொடுக்கிறார்.
If it concerneth the scorners, He scorneth them, but unto the humble He giveth grace.
35 ஞானிகள் மதிப்பைப் பெறுவார்கள்; மூடர்கள் வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்.
The wise shall inherit honour; but as for the fools, they carry away shame.
