நீதிமொழிகள் 21

1 அரசனுடைய இருதயம் யெகோவாவின் கரத்தில் நீரோடைகளைப் போலிருக்கின்றது; அவர் அதைத் தாம் விரும்பியவர்களிடம் நடத்துகிறார்.

Like brooks of water is a king's heart in the hand of the Lord: whithersoever it pleaseth him doth he turn it.

2 மனிதனுடைய வழியெல்லாம் அவனுக்குச் சரியானதாகவே தோன்றும், ஆனால் யெகோவா இருதயத்தின் சிந்தனைகளை சோதித்து அறிகிறார்.

Every way of a man is straight in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the hearts.

3 பலி செலுத்துவதைப் பார்க்கிலும், நியாயத்தையும் நீதியையும் செய்வதே யெகோவாவுக்கு விருப்பம்.

To exercise righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

4 கொடியவர்களின் உழாத நிலம் என்பது, அவர்களின் பாவத்தை உண்டாக்கும் அகந்தையான பார்வையும் பெருமையான இருதயமுமே.

Haughtiness of the eyes, and an immoderate heart, are the sinful field of the wicked.

5 அவசரச்செயல் வறுமையைக் கொடுப்பது நிச்சயம், அதுபோலவே கடின உழைப்புள்ளவர்களின் திட்டங்கள் இலாபத்தைக் கொடுப்பதும் நிச்சயம்.

The plans of the diligent tend only to plenty; but every hasty man is [destined] only to want.

6 பொய் சொல்லி சம்பாதிக்கும் செல்வம், பறந்து செல்லும் நீராவியாயும் மரணக் கண்ணியாயும் இருக்கும்.

The getting of treasures by a tongue of falsehood is like the fleeting breath of those that seek death.

7 கொடியவர்கள் நியாயஞ்செய்ய மறுப்பதால், அவர்களின் வன்முறை அவர்களையே வாரிச்செல்லும்.

The robbery of the wicked will drag them away; because they refuse to execute justice.

8 குற்றவாளிகளின் வழி கோணலானது, ஆனால் குற்றமற்றவர்களின் நடத்தையோ நேர்மையானது.

Perverse is the way of the man that is estranged [from goodness]; but as for the pure, his work is upright.

9 சண்டைக்கார மனைவியுடன் வீட்டில் ஒன்றாய் வாழ்வதைவிட, கூரையின் மூலையில் தனித்து வாழ்வது சிறந்தது.

It is better to dwell in a corner of a roof, than with a quarrelsome woman in a roomy house.

10 கொடியவர்கள் தீமையை விரும்புகிறார்கள்; தமக்கு அடுத்திருப்போரை இரக்கத்தோடு பார்க்கமாட்டார்கள்.

The soul of the wicked longeth for evil: his neighbor findeth no grace in his eyes.

11 ஏளனம் செய்பவர்கள் தண்டிக்கப்படும்போது, அறிவற்றவர்கள் ஞானத்தைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள்; ஞானமுள்ளவர்களுக்குப் போதிக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் அறிவைப் பெற்றுக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is taught intelligence, he receiveth knowledge.

12 நீதிபரரான இறைவன் கொடியவர்களின் வீட்டைக் கவனித்துப் பார்த்து, கொடியவர்களை தண்டிக்கிறார்.

The righteous regardeth attentively the house of the wicked; [but God] overturneth the wicked into unhappiness.

13 ஏழைகளின் அழுகைக்குச் செவிகொடுக்காதவர்களுக்கு தாங்கள் அழும்பொழுது பதில் கிடைக்காது.

Whoso stoppeth his ears against the cry of the poor, he also will cry himself, but shall not be answered.

14 இரகசியமாய் கொடுக்கும் அன்பளிப்பு கோபத்தைத் தணிக்கும்; அங்கியில் மறைத்துக் கொடுக்கும் இலஞ்சம் கடுஞ்சீற்றத்தைக் குறைக்கும்.

A gift in secret pacifieth anger, and a bribe in the bosom, strong fury.

15 நீதி செய்யப்படும்போது, அது நீதிமான்களுக்கு மகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுக்கிறது, ஆனால் தீயவர்களுக்கு பயமுண்டாக்கும்.

It is joy to the righteous to execute justice; but it is a terror to wrong-doers.

16 விவேகத்தின் பாதையைவிட்டு விலகிச்செல்பவர்கள், முடிவில் இறந்தவர்களின் கூட்டத்தில் சேருவார்கள்.

The man that wandereth astray out of the way of intelligence shall rest in the assembly of the departed.

17 சிற்றின்பத்தை தேடுகிறவர்கள் ஏழையாவார்கள்; திராட்சைரசத்தையும் ஆடம்பரத்தையும் விரும்புகிறவர்கள் ஒருபோதும் செல்வந்தராவதில்லை.

He that loveth pleasure will be a man of want: he that loveth wine and oil will not become rich.

18 கொடியவர்கள் நீதிமான்களையும், துரோகிகள் நேர்மையுள்ளவர்களையும் மீட்கும் பணயப் பொருளாவார்கள்.

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the treacherous shall be put in the stead of the upright.

19 சண்டைக்காரியும் கோபக்காரியுமான மனைவியுடன் வாழ்வதைவிட, பாலைவனத்தில் வாழ்வது சிறந்தது.

It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a quarrelsome and vexatious woman.

20 சிறந்த உணவும் எண்ணெயும் ஞானமுள்ளோர் வீட்டில் இருக்கும்; மூடர்களோ எல்லாவற்றையும் தின்று குடித்து அழித்துவிடுவார்கள்.

There are a desirable treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man will swallow it up.

21 நீதியாகவும் அன்பாகவும் இருக்க விரும்புகிறவர்கள், வாழ்வையும் செழிப்பையும், மதிப்பையும் பெறுவார்கள்.

He that pursueth righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.

22 ஞானமுள்ளவர்கள் பலவான்களின் பட்டணத்தைத் தாக்கி, அவர்கள் நம்பியிருக்கும் கோட்டையையும் இடித்துப் போடுவார்கள்.

A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength in which they trusted.

23 தங்கள் வாயையும் நாவையும் காத்துக்கொள்கிறவர்கள் பேரழிவிலிருந்து தங்களைக் காத்துக்கொள்கிறார்கள்.

Whoso guardeth his mouth and his tongue guardeth his soul against distresses.

24 அகந்தையும் இறுமாப்பும் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு, “ஏளனக்காரர்கள்” என்று பெயர், அவர்கள் எல்லையற்ற ஆணவத்துடன் நடந்துகொள்கிறார்கள்.

The presumptuous and proud, scorner is his name, dealeth in the wrath of presumption.

25 சோம்பேறியின் கைகள் வேலைசெய்ய மறுப்பதால், அவர்களின் ஆசையினால் அவர்கள் அழிவார்கள்.

The longing of the slothful will kill him; for his hands refuse to labor.

26 அவர்களுடைய பேராசை நாளுக்குநாள் அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டேயிருக்கிறது; ஆனால் நீதிமான்களோ, தாராளமாய்க் கொடுத்துக்கொண்டே இருப்பார்கள்.

All the day he feeleth a great longing; but the righteous giveth and withholdeth not.

27 கொடியவர்கள் செலுத்தும் பலி அருவருப்பானது; அது தீயநோக்கத்துடன் செலுத்தப்படுமானால், அது இன்னும் எவ்வளவு அதிக அருவருப்பாயிருக்கும்!

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a sinful purpose?

28 பொய்ச்சாட்சி கூறுபவர்கள் அழிந்துபோவார்கள்; ஆனால் கவனமாய்க் கேட்பவர்கள் வெற்றிகரமாக சாட்சியளிப்பார்.

A lying witness shall perish; but the man that is obedient [to the law] can speak for ever.

29 கொடியவர்கள் தங்களைத் துணிச்சல்காரர்களாய் காண்பிக்கிறார்கள்; ஆனால் நேர்மையுள்ளவர்கள் தங்கள் வழிகளைச் சிந்தித்துப் பார்க்கிறார்கள்.

A wicked man showeth impudence in his face; but as for the upright, he will consider well his way.

30 யெகோவாவுக்கு எதிராக வெற்றியளிக்கக்கூடிய ஞானமோ, நுண்ணறிவோ, திட்டமோ எதுவும் இல்லை.

There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.

31 போரின் நாளுக்காக குதிரை ஆயத்தமாக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது, ஆனால் வெற்றியோ யெகோவாவினுடையது.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle; but with the Lord is the victory.
