நீதிமொழிகள் 1
1 இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசனும் தாவீதின் மகனுமான சாலொமோனின் நீதிமொழிகள்:
The proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel:
2 இவைகளால் ஞானத்தையும் அறிவுரையையும் கற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம்; நுண்ணறிவுள்ள வார்த்தைகளையும் விளங்கிக்கொள்ளலாம்.
to know wisdom and instruction; to discern the words of understanding;
3 இவைகளால் நேர்மை, நீதி, நியாயம் ஆகியவற்றைச் செய்ய, அறிவுரையும் விவேகமும் உள்ள வாழ்க்கையை வாழ உதவுகிறது.
to receive instruction in wise dealing, in righteousness, justice, and equity;
4 இவைகள் அறிவற்றவர்களுக்கு விவேகத்தையும், வாலிபர்களுக்கு அறிவையும் அறிவுடைமையையும் கொடுக்கின்றன.
to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young man—
5 ஞானமுள்ளவர்கள் இவைகளைக் கேட்டு, தங்கள் அறிவைக் கூட்டிக்கொள்ளட்டும்; பகுத்தறிவு உள்ளவர்கள், இவைகளினால் வழிநடத்துதலைப் பெறட்டும்.
that the wise man may hear, and increase in learning; that the man of understanding may attain to sound counsel;
6 இவைகளினால் நீதிமொழிகளையும், உவமைகளையும், ஞானிகளின் வார்த்தைகளையும், புதிர்களையும் விளங்கிக்கொள்ளட்டும்.
to understand a proverb and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.
7 யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயப்படுதலே ஞானத்தின் ஆரம்பம்; ஆனால் மூடர்கள் ஞானத்தையும் அறிவுரையையும் புறக்கணிக்கிறார்கள்.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
8 என் மகனே, உன் தகப்பனின் அறிவுரைகளைக் கேள்; உன் தாயின் போதனைகளை விட்டுவிடாதே.
My son, listen to your father’s instruction, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching;
9 அவை உன் தலையைச் சிறப்பிக்கும் மகுடமாகவும், உன் கழுத்தை அலங்கரிக்கும் பொன் மாலையாகவும் இருக்கும்.
for they will be a garland to grace your head, and chains around your neck.
10 என் மகனே, பாவிகள் உன்னைக் கவர்ச்சியூட்டி இழுக்க முயன்றால், அவர்களுடன் இழுப்புண்டு போகாதே.
My son, if sinners entice you, don’t consent.
11 அவர்கள் உன்னிடம், “நீ எங்களோடுகூட வா; குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தும்படி பதுங்கிக் காத்திருப்போம், அப்பாவியான மனிதரை வழிமறித்துப் பறிப்போம்;
If they say, “Come with us. Let’s lie in wait for blood. Let’s lurk secretly for the innocent without cause.
12 பாதாளம் விழுங்குவதுபோல் அவர்களை உயிருடன் விழுங்குவோம், மரணக் குழிக்குள் போகிறவர்களைப்போல் முழுமையாய் விழுங்குவோம்; (Sheol h7585)
Let’s swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit. (Sheol h7585)
13 பலவித விலைமதிப்புள்ள பொருட்களையும் எடுத்து, நமது வீடுகளைக் கொள்ளைப் பொருட்களால் நிரப்புவோம்;
We’ll find all valuable wealth. We’ll fill our houses with plunder.
14 எங்களுடன் பங்காளியாயிரு; நாம் கொள்ளையிட்டதைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்வோம்” என்று சொல்லுவார்களானால்,
You shall cast your lot amongst us. We’ll all have one purse”—
15 என் மகனே, நீ அவர்களோடுகூடப் போகாதே; அவர்களுடைய வழிகளில் காலடி வைக்காதே.
my son, don’t walk on the path with them. Keep your foot from their path,
16 ஏனெனில் அவர்களுடைய கால்கள் தீமைசெய்ய விரைகின்றன, இரத்தஞ்சிந்த வேகமாய் செல்கின்றன.
for their feet run to evil. They hurry to shed blood.
17 பறவைகள் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், அவற்றைப் பிடிக்க வலை விரிப்பது பயனற்றதல்லவா.
For the net is spread in vain in the sight of any bird;
18 ஆனாலும் இந்த மனிதர்கள், தங்கள் சொந்த இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்துவதற்கே காத்திருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்களுக்காகவே பதுங்கியிருக்கிறார்களே,
but these lay in wait for their own blood. They lurk secretly for their own lives.
19 தகாத முறையில் சம்பாதிக்கத் தேடுகிற அனைவரின் முடிவும் இதுவே; அதின் பலன் அதைப் பெறுகிறவர்களின் உயிரை எடுத்துவிடும்.
So are the ways of everyone who is greedy for gain. It takes away the life of its owners.
20 ஞானம் வீதியிலே சத்தமிட்டு அழைக்கிறது, பொது இடங்களில் தனது குரலை எழுப்புகிறது;
Wisdom calls aloud in the street. She utters her voice in the public squares.
21 அது இரைச்சலுள்ள வீதிகளின் சந்தியில் சத்தமிடுகிறது, பட்டணத்தின் நுழைவாசல்களில் நின்று உரையாற்றுகிறது.
She calls at the head of noisy places. At the entrance of the city gates, she utters her words:
22 “அறிவற்றவர்களே, எவ்வளவு காலம் அறியாமையின் வழிகளை விரும்புவீர்கள்? ஏளனம் செய்பவர்களே, எவ்வளவு காலம் ஏளனத்தில் மகிழ்ந்திருப்பீர்கள்? மூடர்களே, எவ்வளவு காலத்திற்கு நீங்கள் அறிவை வெறுப்பீர்கள்?
“How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? How long will mockers delight themselves in mockery, and fools hate knowledge?
23 நீங்கள் எனது கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள்! என் சிந்தனைகளை உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துவேன், என் வார்த்தைகளை உங்களுக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்துவேன்.
Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.
24 ஆனால், நான் கூப்பிட்டபோது நீங்கள் என்னைப் புறக்கணித்து, எனது கையை நீட்டியபோது ஒருவரும் அதைக் கவனிக்காதபடியினாலும்,
Because I have called, and you have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no one has paid attention;
25 நீங்கள் என் புத்திமதிகளையெல்லாம் தள்ளிவிட்டு, எனது கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாதபடியினாலும்
but you have ignored all my counsel, and wanted none of my reproof;
26 உங்களுக்குப் பேராபத்து வரும்போது நான் சிரிப்பேன், பேரழிவு உங்களை மேற்கொள்கையில் ஏளனம் செய்வேன்;
I also will laugh at your disaster. I will mock when calamity overtakes you,
27 பேரழிவு உங்கள்மேல் புயலைப்போல் வரும்போதும், பேராபத்து சுழற்காற்றைப் போல் உங்களை அடித்துச் செல்லும்போதும், துன்பமும் தொல்லையும் உங்களைத் திணறடிக்கும்போதும் நான் உங்களை ஏளனம் செய்வேன்.
when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when your disaster comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you.
28 “அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவார்கள், நான் பதில் கொடுக்கமாட்டேன்; அவர்கள் என்னைத் தேடுவார்கள், ஆனால் என்னைக் கண்டடையமாட்டார்கள்.
Then they will call on me, but I will not answer. They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,
29 ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் அறிவை வெறுத்து, யெகோவாவுக்குப் பயந்து நடப்பதைத் தெரிந்துகொள்ளாமல் போனார்கள்.
because they hated knowledge, and didn’t choose the fear of the LORD.
30 அவர்கள் என் புத்திமதிகளை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாமல், எனது கடிந்துகொள்ளுதலை புறக்கணித்தபடியால்,
They wanted none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof.
31 அவர்கள் தங்கள் நடத்தையின் பலனை அனுபவிப்பார்கள், அவர்களுடைய சதித்திட்டங்களின் பலனால் நிரப்பப்படுவார்கள்.
Therefore they will eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own schemes.
32 அறிவீனர்களின் அசட்டுத்தனம் அவர்களைக் கொல்லும், மூடர்களின் மனநிறைவு அவர்களை அழிக்கும்;
For the backsliding of the simple will kill them. The careless ease of fools will destroy them.
33 ஆனால் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுப்பவர் யாரும் பாதுகாப்பாக வாழ்வார்கள், அவர்கள் தீமைக்குப் பயப்படாமல் அமைதியாயிருப்பார்கள்.”
But whoever listens to me will dwell securely, and will be at ease, without fear of harm.”
