மத்தேயு 9
1 இயேசு ஒரு படகில் ஏறி, கடலைக் கடந்து தமது சொந்தப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்தார்.
And he entered into a boat, and passed over, and came into his own city.
2 அங்கே சிலர் முடக்குவாதக்காரன் ஒருவனைப் படுக்கையில் கிடத்தியபடியே, அவரிடம் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களுடைய விசுவாசத்தைக் கண்டபோது, அந்த முடக்குவாதக்காரனிடம், “மகனே, தைரியமாயிரு; உன்னுடைய பாவங்கள் உனக்கு மன்னிக்கப்பட்டன” என்றார்.
And behold, they brought to him a man sick with the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the sick of the palsy, Son, be of good cheer; thy sins are forgiven thee.
3 இதைக் கேட்ட சில மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்கள், “இவன் இறைவனை நிந்திக்கிறான்!” என்று தங்களுக்குள் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
And behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This [man] blasphemeth.
4 அவர்களுடைய சிந்தனைகளை அறிந்த இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் ஏன் உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் தீயவைகளைச் சிந்திக்கிறீர்கள்?
And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, Why think ye evil in your hearts?
5 ‘உன்னுடைய பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டன’ என்று சொல்வதா, அல்லது, ‘எழுந்து நட’ என்று சொல்வதா, எது எளிது?
For which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
6 ஆனால் பூமியிலே பாவங்களை மன்னிப்பதற்கு மானிடமகனாகிய எனக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு என்பதை நீங்கள் அறியவேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறேன்” என்று சொல்லி, பின்பு இயேசு அந்த முடக்குவாதக்காரனிடம், “எழுந்திரு, உன் படுக்கையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டு உன் வீட்டுக்குப்போ” என்றார்.
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick with the palsy, ) Arise, take up thy bed, and go to thy house.
7 உடனே அவன் எழுந்து, தன் வீட்டுக்குப் போனான்.
And he arose, and departed to his house.
8 மக்கள் கூட்டம் இதைக் கண்டபோது, இப்படிப்பட்ட அதிகாரத்தை மனிதருக்கு அளித்த இறைவனைப் பயபக்தியுடன் துதித்தார்கள்.
But when the multitude saw [it], they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such power to men.
9 இயேசு அங்கிருந்து போகும்போது, மத்தேயு என்னும் பெயருடைய ஒருவன் வரி வசூலிக்கிறவர்களுடைய அலுவலகத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருப்பதைக் கண்டார். அவர் அவனிடம், “என்னைப் பின்பற்றி வா” என்றார். அவன் எழுந்து அவரைப் பின்பற்றிச் சென்றான்.
And as Jesus was passing from thence, he saw a man named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10 பின்பு இயேசு, மத்தேயுவின் வீட்டில் விருந்து சாப்பிடும்போது, வரி வசூலிக்கிறவர்களும், பாவிகளும் அநேகர் வந்து, அவருடனும் அவருடைய சீடர்களுடனும் சாப்பிட்டார்கள்.
And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at table in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11 இதைப் பரிசேயர் கண்டபோது, அவரது சீடர்களிடம், “ஏன் உங்கள் போதகர் வரி வசூலிக்கிறவர்களோடும் பாவிகளோடும் சாப்பிடுகிறார்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said to his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 இதைக் கேட்டபோது இயேசு, “சுகமாயிருப்பவர்களுக்கு வைத்தியன் தேவையில்லை, வியாதியாய் இருப்பவர்களுக்கே வைத்தியன் தேவை” என்றார்.
But when Jesus heard [that], he said to them, They that are in health need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 மேலும் அவர், “‘நான் பலியை அல்ல, இரக்கத்தையே விரும்புகிறேன்’ என்ற இறைவாக்கின் கருத்து என்னவென்று, போய்க் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். ஏனெனில் நான் நீதிமான்களை அழைப்பதற்காக வரவில்லை, பாவிகளையே அழைக்கவந்தேன்” என்றார்.
But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
14 அதற்குப் பின்பு யோவானுடைய சீடர்கள் இயேசுவிடம் வந்து, “நாங்களும், பரிசேயரும் உபவாசிக்கிறோம். ஆனால் உமது சீடர்கள் உபவாசிப்பதில்லை, அது ஏன்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but thy disciples fast not?
15 அதற்கு இயேசு, “மணமகன் தங்களுடன் இருக்கும்போது, மணமகனின் விருந்தினர் துக்கங்கொண்டாடுவது எப்படி? மணமகன் அவர்களைவிட்டு எடுக்கப்படும் காலம் வரும்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் உபவாசிப்பார்கள்” என்று சொன்னார்.
And Jesus said to them, Can the children of the bride-chamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then they will fast.
16 “ஒருவனும் பழைய ஆடையில், புதிய துணியை ஒட்டுப் போடுவதில்லை. அப்படி ஒட்டுப் போட்டால், புதிய துணி ஆடையைக் கிழித்துவிடும், கிழிசலும் முன்னிருந்ததைவிட பெரிதாகிவிடும்.
No man putteth a piece of new cloth to an old garment: for that which is put in to fill it up, taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
17 மக்கள் புதிய திராட்சை இரசத்தைப் பழைய தோல் பைகளில் ஊற்றி வைப்பதில்லை. அப்படி செய்தால், தோல் பைகள் வெடித்து விடும்; திராட்சை இரசமும் சிந்திப்போகும், தோல் பைகளும் பாழாய்ப்போகும். அப்படிச் செய்யாமல், புதிய திராட்சை இரசத்தைப் புதிய தோல் பைகளில் ஊற்றி வைக்கவேண்டும்” என்றார்.
Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
18 இயேசு இதைச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், ஜெப ஆலயத் தலைவன் ஒருவன் வந்து அவர்முன் முழங்காற்படியிட்டு, அவரிடம், “எனது மகள் இப்பொழுதுதான் மரித்துப்போனாள். ஆனாலும் நீர் வந்து உமது கையை அவள்மேல் வையும். அப்பொழுது அவள் உயிர் பெறுவாள்” என்று சொன்னான்.
While he was speaking these things to them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshiped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she will live.
19 இயேசு எழுந்து ஜெப ஆலயத் தலைவனுடன் சென்றார். இயேசுவின் சீடர்களும் அவருக்குப் பின்சென்றார்கள்.
And Jesus arose, and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
20 அவ்வேளையில், பன்னிரண்டு வருடங்களாக இரத்தப்போக்கினால் வருந்திக்கொண்டிருந்த ஒரு பெண், இயேசுவுக்குப் பின்னால் வந்து, அவரது மேலுடையின் ஓரத்தைத் தொட்டாள்.
(And behold, a woman who was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind [him], and touched the hem of his garment.
21 அவள், “நான் அவரது மேலுடையைத் தொட்டால் போதும். குணமடைவேன்” எனத் தனக்குள் சொல்லிக்கொண்டாள்.
For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
22 இயேசு அவளை திரும்பிப்பார்த்து, “மகளே, தைரியமாயிரு; உனது விசுவாசம் உன்னை குணப்படுத்தியது” என்றார். அந்தப் பெண் அந்த நேரத்திலேயே குணமானாள்.
But Jesus turned himself about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.)
23 பிறகு இயேசு ஜெப ஆலயத் தலைவனின் வீட்டிற்குள் போனவுடன் குழல் ஊதுவோரையும், கூச்சலிட்டு அழும் மக்கள் கூட்டத்தையும் கண்டார்.
And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
24 இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “வெளியே போங்கள். இந்த சிறுமி சாகவில்லை, அவள் தூங்குகிறாள்” என்றார். அவர்களோ அதைக்கேட்டு நகைத்தார்கள்.
He said to them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they derided him.
25 மக்கள் கூட்டத்தை வெளியே அனுப்பியபின், இயேசு உள்ளேப் போய், அந்தச் சிறுமியின் கையைப் பிடித்துத் தூக்கினார், அவள் உடனே எழுந்திருந்தாள்.
But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
26 இச்செய்தி, அப்பகுதிகள் எங்கும் பரவியது.
And the fame of this went abroad into all that land.
27 இயேசு அங்கிருந்து போகும்போது, இரண்டு பார்வையற்றோர்கள் அவரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து சென்று, “தாவீதின் மகனே! எங்கள்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும்!” என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.
And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, [Thou] son of David, have mercy on us.
28 அவர் வீட்டிற்குள் சென்றபோது, அந்த பார்வையற்றோர்கள் அவரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து அவரிடம் வந்தார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “என்னால் இதைச் செய்யமுடியும் என நீங்கள் விசுவாசிக்கிறீர்களா?” எனக் கேட்டார். “ஆம் ஆண்டவரே!” என்று அவர்கள் பதிலளித்தார்கள்.
And when he had come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith to them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said to him, Yes, Lord.
29 பின்பு இயேசு, அவர்களுடைய கண்களைத் தொட்டு, “உங்களுடைய விசுவாசத்தின்படியே உங்களுக்குச் செய்யப்படும்” என்றார்.
Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it to you.
30 உடனே அவர்களுக்கு பார்வை கிடைத்தது. இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “இதைப்பற்றி ஒருவரும் அறியாதபடி பார்த்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்” எனக் கடுமையாக எச்சரித்தார்.
And their eyes were opened; and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See [that] no man know [it].
31 ஆனால் குணமடைந்தவர்களோ வெளியே போய், அவரைப் பற்றியச் செய்தியை அப்பகுதியெங்கும் பரப்பினார்கள்.
But they, when they had departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
32 அவர்கள் வெளியே சென்றுகொண்டிருந்தபோது, பிசாசு பிடித்ததினால் பேச முடியாதிருந்த ஒருவனை இயேசுவிடம் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
As thy went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a demon.
33 அந்த பிசாசு துரத்தப்பட்டபோது, ஊமையாயிருந்தவன் பேசத் தொடங்கினான். மக்கள் கூட்டம் வியப்படைந்து, “இஸ்ரயேலில் இதுபோன்ற எதுவும், ஒருபோதும் காணப்பட்டதில்லை” என்றார்கள்.
And when the demon was cast out, the dumb spoke: and the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
34 ஆனால் பரிசேயரோ, “பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாலேயே, இவன் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறான்” என்றார்கள்.
But the Pharisees said, He casteth out demons, through the prince of the demons.
35 இயேசு எல்லாப் பட்டணங்கள்தோறும், கிராமங்கள்தோறும் நடந்துபோய், அங்கே யூதருடைய ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் போதித்து, பரலோக அரசின் நற்செய்தியைப் பிரசங்கித்தார். அத்துடன் எல்லா விதமான வியாதிகளையும், நோய்களையும் குணமாக்கினார்.
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness, and every disease among the people.
36 அவர் திரளான மக்கள் கூட்டத்தைக் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள்மேல் மனதுருகினார். ஏனெனில் அவர்கள், மேய்ப்பன் இல்லாத ஆடுகளைப்போல் துன்புறுத்தப்பட்டு, உதவியற்றவர்களாக இருந்தார்கள்.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
37 அப்பொழுது இயேசு தமது சீடர்களிடம், “அறுவடை மிகுதியாய் இருக்கிறது, ஆனால் வேலையாட்களோ, கொஞ்சமாய் இருக்கிறார்கள்.
Then saith he to his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plentiful, but the laborers [are] few.
38 ஆகையால் அறுவடையின் ஆண்டவரிடம், தமது அறுவடைக்கு வேண்டிய வேலையாட்களை அனுப்பும்படி வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்” என்றார்.
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.
