மத்தேயு 27
1 மறுநாள் அதிகாலையில் தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும் ஜனத்தின் தலைவர்களும், இயேசுவை மரண தண்டனைக்கு உள்ளாக்கும் ஒரு தீர்மானத்தை எடுத்தார்கள்.
When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
2 இயேசுவை கட்டிக் கொண்டுபோய், ஆளுநர் பிலாத்துவிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார்கள்.
And when they had bound him, they led [him] away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
3 அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்த யூதாஸ், இயேசு மரணத் தீர்ப்புக்குள்ளானதைக் கண்டபோது மனத்துயரம் அடைந்தான். எனவே, தனக்குக் கொடுத்த முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசை தலைமை ஆசாரியரிடமும் யூதரின் தலைவர்களிடம் திருப்பிக் கொடுத்தான். அவன் அவர்களிடம்,
Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 “குற்றமற்ற இரத்தத்தை நான் காட்டிக்கொடுத்து, பாவம் செய்துவிட்டேன்” என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்கள், “அதைப்பற்றி எங்களுக்கு என்ன? அது உன் பாடு” என்றார்கள்.
Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? see thou [to that].
5 எனவே யூதாஸ் பணத்தை ஆலயத்தினுள் எறிந்துவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப் போனான். அவன் போய், தன்னைத்தானே தூக்கிலிட்டுக்கொண்டு செத்தான்.
And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 தலைமை ஆசாரியர் அந்தப் பணத்தை எடுத்து, “இது இரத்தப்பழியுள்ள பணம். ஆகையால் இதைக் காணிக்கையில் சேர்ப்பது மோசேயின் சட்டத்திற்கு எதிரானது” என்றார்கள்.
And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
7 எனவே அவர்கள் அந்தப் பணத்தைக்கொண்டு, குயவனின் வயலை வாங்குவதற்குத் தீர்மானித்தார்கள். அந்நிலத்தை அந்நியரை அடக்கம் செய்யும் இடமாக ஒதுக்கிவைத்தார்கள்.
And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.
8 அதனாலேயே இன்றுவரை அந்த இடம் “இரத்தநிலம்” என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.
9 இதனால் இறைவாக்கினன் எரேமியாவினால் கூறப்பட்டது நிறைவேறியது: “அவர்கள் முப்பது வெள்ளிக்காசை எடுத்தார்கள். அதுவே இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அவருக்கு மதிப்பிட்ட விலை.
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
10 கர்த்தர் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, அவர்கள் அதைக்கொண்டு குயவனுடைய நிலத்தை வாங்கினார்கள்.”
And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me.
11 இயேசுவைக் கொண்டுவந்து ஆளுநர் முன்னால் நிறுத்தினார்கள். ஆளுநர் அவரிடம், “நீ யூதருடைய அரசனா?” என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு இயேசு, “ஆம், நீர் சொல்கிறபடியேதான்” என்றார்.
And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest.
12 ஆனால் தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களாலும் மற்றும் யூதரின் தலைவர்களாலும் குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்ட போது அவர் பதில் ஒன்றும் கொடுக்கவில்லை.
And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
13 அப்பொழுது பிலாத்து அவரிடம், “உனக்கு எதிராக இவர்கள் கொண்டுவரும் சாட்சியத்தை நீ கேட்கவில்லையா?” என்று கேட்டான்.
Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
14 ஆனால் இயேசு ஒரு குற்றச்சாட்டுக்கும் மறுமொழியாக எந்த ஒரு பதிலும் சொல்லாதது ஆளுநனை மிகவும் ஆச்சரியத்துக்கு உள்ளாக்கியது.
And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
15 பண்டிகை நாளில் மக்கள் கேட்டுக்கொள்ளும் சிறைக்கைதியை விடுதலை செய்வது ஆளுநனின் வழக்கமாயிருந்தது.
Now at [that] feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.
16 அக்காலத்தில் பரபாஸ் என்னும் பேர்போன ஒரு கைதி இருந்தான்.
And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17 எனவே காலையில் ஆளுநனின் வீட்டிற்கு முன் மக்கள் ஒன்றுகூடி வந்தபோது, பிலாத்து அவர்களிடம், “யாரை நான் உங்களுக்காக விடுதலை செய்யவேண்டும்: பரபாஸையா அல்லது கிறிஸ்து என அழைக்கப்படும் இயேசுவையா?” எனக் கேட்டான்.
Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
18 ஏனெனில், பொறாமையினாலேயே அவர்கள் இயேசுவைத் தன்னிடம் ஒப்படைத்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்பது பிலாத்துவுக்குத் தெரியும்.
For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
19 பிலாத்து நீதிபதியின் இருக்கையில் அமர்ந்திருந்தபோது, அவனுடைய மனைவி, “அந்த குற்றமற்ற மனிதரை ஒன்றும் செய்யவேண்டாம். ஏனெனில் அவர் நிமித்தம் நான் இன்று கனவில் மிகவும் வேதனைப்பட்டேன்” என்று ஒரு செய்தியை அவனுக்கு அனுப்பினாள்.
When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
20 ஆனால் தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும் தலைவர்களும் பரபாஸை விடுதலை செய்யும்படியும், இயேசுவைக் கொலை செய்யும்படியும் கேட்பதற்காக, மக்களைத் தூண்டிவிட்டார்கள்.
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
21 “இந்த இருவரில், யாரை நான் உங்களுக்கு விடுதலை செய்யவேண்டும்?” என ஆளுநன் கேட்டான். “பரபாஸை” என அவர்கள் பதிலளித்தார்கள்.
The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.
22 “அப்படியானால், கிறிஸ்து என அழைக்கப்படும் இயேசுவை நான் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும்?” என்று பிலாத்து கேட்டான். அவர்கள் எல்லோரும், “அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையும்!” என்று பதிலளித்தார்கள்.
Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? [They] all say unto him, Let him be crucified.
23 “ஏன்? அவன் என்ன குற்றம் செய்தான்?” என பிலாத்து கேட்டான். ஆனால் அவர்களோ, “அவனைச் சிலுவையில் அறையும்!” என்று இன்னும் அதிகமாகச் சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.
And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
24 தனது முயற்சியால் பயன் இல்லை என்றும், ஒரு புரட்சி எழும்புவதையும் பிலாத்து கண்டான்; எனவே அவன் ஒரு பாத்திரத்தில் தண்ணீரை எடுத்து, மக்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தன் கைகளைக் கழுவினான். பின்பு அவன், “இந்த மனிதனுடைய இரத்தப்பழிக்கு நீங்களே பொறுப்பாளிகள். நானோ குற்றமற்றவன்” என்றான்.
When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but [that] rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed [his] hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye [to it].
25 அதற்கு எல்லா மக்களும், “அவனுடைய இரத்தப்பழி எங்கள்மேலும், எங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் மேலும் சுமரட்டும்” என்றார்கள்.
Then answered all the people, and said, His blood [be] on us, and on our children.
26 அப்பொழுது பரபாஸை அவர்களுக்காக பிலாத்து விடுதலையாக்கி, இயேசுவையோ சவுக்கினால் அடித்து சிலுவையில் அறையும்படி அவர்களிடம் ஒப்படைத்தான்.
Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered [him] to be crucified.
27 அதற்குப் பின்பு ஆளுநனின் படைவீரர்கள், இயேசுவைத் தங்கள் தலைமையகத்துக்குக் கொண்டுபோய், அவரைச் சுற்றி எல்லா படைவீரர்களையும் ஒன்றுகூட்டினார்கள்.
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band [of soldiers].
28 அங்கே அவர்கள் இயேசுவின் உடைகளைக் கழற்றி, கருஞ்சிவப்பு மேலுடையை அவருக்கு உடுத்தினார்கள்.
And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
29 அவர்கள் முட்களினால் ஒரு கிரீடத்தைச் செய்து, அதை இயேசுவின் தலையின்மேல் வைத்தார்கள். அவர்கள் அவரது வலதுகையில் ஒரு தடியைக் கொடுத்து, அவர் முன்னால் முழங்காற்படியிட்டு, “யூதரின் அரசரே, வாழ்க!” என்று சொல்லி, அவரை ஏளனம் செய்தார்கள்.
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put [it] upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
30 அவர்மேல் துப்பி, தடியை எடுத்து அவரைத் தலையில் திரும்பத்திரும்ப அடித்தார்கள்.
And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
31 அவர்கள் இயேசுவை ஏளனம் செய்தபின், அந்த உடையைக் கழற்றிவிட்டு அவரது உடையை உடுத்தினார்கள். அதற்குப் பின்பு அவர்கள் இயேசுவை சிலுவையில் அறையும்படிக்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.
And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify [him].
32 அவர்கள் இயேசுவை வெளியே கொண்டுபோகும்போது, சிரேனே ஊரைச்சேர்ந்த சீமோன் என்னும் பெயருடைய ஒருவனைக் கண்டு, சிலுவையைத் தூக்கும்படி அவனைக் கட்டாயப்படுத்தினார்கள்.
And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
33 அவர்கள் கொல்கொதா எனப்பட்ட ஒரு இடத்திற்கு வந்தார்கள். கொல்கொதா என்பதன் அர்த்தம், “மண்டையோட்டின் இடம்” என்பதாகும்.
And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
34 அங்கே அவர்கள் இயேசுவுக்குக் கசப்பு கலந்த திராட்சை இரசத்தைக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தார்கள். ஆனால் அவர் அதை ருசி பார்த்தபின் குடிக்க மறுத்தார்.
They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted [thereof], he would not drink.
35 அவர்கள் அவரைச் சிலுவையில் அறைந்தபின், அவர்கள் சீட்டுப்போட்டு அவருடைய உடைகளைப் பங்கிட்டுக்கொண்டார்கள். “அவர்கள் எனது உடைகளைத் தங்களுக்குள்ளே பங்கிட்டு, எனது உடைகளுக்காக சீட்டுப்போட்டார்கள்” என்று இறைவாக்கினனால் கூறப்பட்ட வார்த்தை நிறைவேறும்படியே இப்படி நடந்தது.
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
36 பின்பு அவர்கள் அங்கே உட்கார்ந்து, இயேசுவைக் காவல் காத்தார்கள்.
And sitting down they watched him there;
37 அவருடைய தலைக்கு மேலாக அவருக்கெதிரான குற்றச்சாட்டாக இப்படி எழுதி வைத்தார்கள்: இவர் இயேசு, யூதரின் அரசன்.
And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
38 அவருடன் இரண்டு கள்வர்கள், ஒருவன் வலதுபக்கத்திலும் மற்றொருவன் இடது பக்கத்திலுமாக சிலுவைகளில் அறையப்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்.
Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
39 அவ்வழியாகக் கடந்து போனவர்கள் ஏளனமாய் தங்கள் தலைகளை அசைத்து, அவரைப் பழித்துரைத்தார்கள்.
And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
40 அவர்கள், “ஆலயத்தை அழித்து, அதை மூன்று நாட்களில் கட்டுவேன் என்று சொன்னவனே, உன்னை நீயே விடுவித்துக்கொள்! நீ இறைவனின் மகனானால் சிலுவையிலிருந்து இறங்கி வா!” என்று பழித்துரைத்தார்கள்.
And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest [it] in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 அவ்விதமாகவே தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும், மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்களும், தலைவர்களும், அவரை ஏளனம் செய்தார்கள்.
Likewise also the chief priests mocking [him], with the scribes and elders, said,
42 மேலும் அவர்கள், “இவன் மற்றவர்களை இரட்சித்தான், ஆனால் தன்னையோ இரட்சித்துக்கொள்ள முடியாதிருக்கிறான்! இவன் இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு அரசன்! இவன் இப்பொழுது சிலுவையிலிருந்து இறங்கி வரட்டும்; அப்பொழுது நாங்கள் இவனில் விசுவாசம் வைப்போம்.
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
43 இவன் இறைவனைச் சார்ந்து இருக்கிறான். ‘நான் இறைவனின் மகன்’ என்றானே. இறைவனுக்கு விருப்பமானால், இப்பொழுது அவர் இவனை விடுவிக்கட்டும்” என்றார்கள்.
He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
44 அவ்விதமாகவே, இயேசுவுடனே சிலுவையில் அறையப்பட்ட கள்வர்களும் அவரை ஏளனம் செய்தார்கள்.
The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
45 நண்பகல் பன்னிரண்டு மணியிலிருந்து, பூமியெங்கும் இருள் சூழ்ந்து பிற்பகல் மூன்று மணிவரை நீடித்திருந்தது.
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
46 பிற்பகல் மூன்றுமணியளவில், இயேசு பலத்த சத்தமிட்டு, “ஏலீ, ஏலீ, லாமா சபக்தானி” என்று சத்தமாய்க் கூப்பிட்டார். “என் இறைவனே, என் இறைவனே, ஏன் என்னைக் கைவிட்டீர்?” என்பதே அதன் அர்த்தமாகும்.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
47 அங்கே நின்றவர்களில் சிலர் இதைக் கேட்டு தவறாக விளங்கிக்கொண்டு, “அவன் எலியாவைக் கூப்பிடுகிறான்!” என்றார்கள்.
Some of them that stood there, when they heard [that], said, This [man] calleth for Elias.
48 உடனே அவர்களில் ஒருவன் ஓடிப்போய் கடற்பஞ்சைக் கொண்டுவந்து, அதைப் புளித்த திராட்சை இரசத்தில் தோய்த்து, ஒரு கோலில் மாட்டி இயேசுவுக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தான்.
And straightway one of them ran, and took a spunge, and filled [it] with vinegar, and put [it] on a reed, and gave him to drink.
49 மற்றவர்களோ, “அவனைவிட்டுவிடு. எலியா அவனைக் காப்பாற்ற வருகிறானா பார்ப்போம்” என்றார்கள்.
The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
50 இயேசு மீண்டும் பலத்த சத்தமிட்டுக் கூப்பிட்ட பின்பு, தமது ஆவியை விட்டார்.
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 அவ்வேளையில் ஆலயத்தின் திரைச்சீலை மேலிருந்து கீழ்வரைக்கும் இரண்டாகக் கிழிந்தது; பூமியதிர்ந்தது, கற்பாறைகள் பிளந்தன;
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 கல்லறைகளும் நொறுங்குண்டு திறந்தன; இறந்து போயிருந்த பல பரிசுத்தவான்களின் உடல்கள் உயிருடன் எழுந்திருந்தன.
And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
53 அவர்கள் கல்லறைகளை விட்டு வெளியே வந்தார்கள். இயேசு உயிருடன் எழுந்தபின், அவர்கள் பரிசுத்த நகரத்திற்குள் சென்று, பலருக்குக் காணப்பட்டார்கள்.
And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 இயேசுவைக் காவல் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்த நூற்றுக்குத் தலைவனும் அவனோடிருந்தவர்களும், பூமியதிர்ச்சியையும் நடந்த எல்லாவற்றையும் கண்டு பயமடைந்தார்கள். “நிச்சயமாக இவர் இறைவனின் மகனே!” என்று வியப்புடன் சொன்னார்கள்.
Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
55 பல பெண்கள் தூரத்தில் நின்று, அதைப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் இயேசுவின் தேவைகளை கவனிப்பதற்கு கலிலேயாவிலிருந்து அவரைப் பின்பற்றி வந்திருந்தார்கள்.
And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:
56 அவர்களில் மகதலேனா மரியாளும், யாக்கோபு, யோசே ஆகியோரின் தாயாகிய மரியாளும், செபெதேயுவின் மகன்களின் தாயும் இருந்தார்கள்.
Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children.
57 மாலை வேளையானபோது, அரிமத்தியா பட்டணத்திலிருந்து யோசேப்பு என்னும் பெயருடைய ஒரு செல்வந்தன் வந்தான். இவனும் இயேசுவுக்கு சீடனாயிருந்தான்.
When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathæa, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:
58 அவன் பிலாத்துவினிடம் போய், இயேசுவின் உடலைத் தரும்படி கேட்டான். பிலாத்துவும் அதை அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கும்படி உத்தரவிட்டான்.
He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
59 யோசேப்பு அந்த உடலை எடுத்து, சுத்தமான மென்பட்டுத் துணியினால் சுற்றி,
And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
60 அதைத் தனக்குச் சொந்தமான கற்பாறையில் வெட்டியிருந்த புதிய கல்லறையில் வைத்தான்; பின்பு அவன் கல்லறையின் வாசலில் ஒரு பெரிய கல்லை உருட்டி வைத்துவிட்டுப் போனான்.
And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
61 அப்பொழுது மகதலேனா மரியாளும், மற்ற மரியாளும் கல்லறைக்கு எதிரே உட்கார்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.
And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
62 மறுநாள் பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகையின் முதல் நாளாகிய ஆயத்த நாளிலே, தலைமை ஆசாரியர்களும், பரிசேயர்களும் பிலாத்துவிடம் போனார்கள்.
Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
63 அவர்கள் அவனிடம், “ஐயா அந்த ஏமாற்றுக்காரன் உயிரோடிருக்கும்போது, ‘மூன்று நாட்களுக்குபின் நான் உயிரோடு எழுந்திருப்பேன்’ என்று சொன்னது எங்களுக்கு நினைவிருக்கிறது.
Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
64 ஆகவே அந்தக் கல்லறை மூன்றாம் நாள்வரைக்கும் பத்திரமாய் பாதுகாக்கப்படும்படி உத்தரவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும். இல்லையெனில் அவனது சீடர்கள் ஒருவேளை வந்து அந்த உடலைத் திருடிச் சென்றுவிட்டு, இறந்தோரில் இருந்து உயிரோடு எழுந்துவிட்டான் என்று மக்களுக்குச் சொல்லுவார்கள். அப்படி நடந்தால் முந்தின ஏமாற்று வேலையைவிட பிந்தினது மோசமானதாயிருக்கும்” என்றார்கள்.
Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
65 அதற்குப் பிலாத்து அவர்களிடம், “காவல் வீரர்களைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய் உங்களுக்குத் தெரிந்தபடி கல்லறையைப் பத்திரமாய்க் காவல் செய்யுங்கள்” என்றான்.
Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make [it] as sure as ye can.
66 எனவே அவர்கள் போய், கல்லறை வாசற்கல்லின்மேல் முத்திரையிட்டு, காவலாளிகளை வைத்து பத்திரமாய் கல்லறையைக் காவல் செய்தார்கள்.
So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
