லூக்கா 6
1 ஒரு ஓய்வுநாளிலே இயேசு தானியம் விளைந்திருந்த வயல்வழியாகப் போகையில், அவருடைய சீடர்கள் தானியக்கதிர்கள் சிலவற்றைப் பறித்து, தங்கள் கைகளால் நிமிட்டி அவற்றைச் சாப்பிடத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
One Sabbath Jesus was walking through cornfields, and his disciples were picking the ears of wheat, and rubbing them in their hands, and eating them.
2 பரிசேயர்கள் சிலர், “ஓய்வுநாளில் மோசேயின் சட்டத்தினால் தடைசெய்யப்பட்ட காரியத்தை ஏன் செய்கிறீர்கள்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
‘Why are you doing what it is not allowable to do on the Sabbath?’ asked some of the Pharisees.
3 அதற்கு இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “தாவீதும் அவனுடைய கூட்டாளிகளும் பசியாயிருந்தபோது, அவன் என்ன செய்தான் என்பதைப்பற்றி, நீங்கள் ஒருபோதும் வாசிக்கவில்லையா?
Jesus’ answer was, ‘Haven’t you read even of what David did, when he was hungry, he and his companions –
4 அவன் இறைவனுடைய வீட்டிற்குள் போய் அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்ட அப்பத்தை எடுத்தான்; மோசேயின் சட்டத்தின்படி ஆசாரியர்கள் மட்டுமே சாப்பிடக்கூடிய தேவசமுகத்து அப்பத்தை அவன் சாப்பிட்டு அதில் சிலவற்றைத் தன்னோடிருந்தவர்களுக்கும் கொடுத்தானே” என்றார்.
That he went into the house of God, and took the consecrated bread and ate it, and gave some to his companions, though only the priests are allowed to eat it?’
5 மேலும் இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “மானிடமகனாகிய நான் ஓய்வுநாளுக்கும் ஆண்டவராய் இருக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
Then Jesus added, ‘The Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.’
6 மற்றொரு ஓய்வுநாளிலே அவர் ஜெப ஆலயத்திற்குள் போய், அங்கே போதித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அங்கே சுருங்கிய வலதுகையுடைய ஒருவன் இருந்தான்.
On another Sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and taught; and there was a man there whose right hand was withered.
7 பரிசேயரும் மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்களும், இயேசுவைக் குற்றப்படுத்துவதற்கான காரணத்தைத் தேடி, ஓய்வுநாளிலே அவர் குணமாக்குவாரோ என்று கவனமாகப் பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely, to see if he would work cures on the Sabbath, so that they might find a charge to bring against him.
8 ஆனால் இயேசு அவர்கள் என்ன நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதை அறிந்து, சுருங்கிய கையுடையவனைப் பார்த்து, “நீ எழுந்து, எல்லோருக்கும் முன்பாக நில்” என்றார். அப்படியே அவன் எழுந்து நின்றான்.
Jesus, however, knew what was in their minds, and said to the man whose hand was withered, ‘Stand up and come out into the middle.’ The man stood up,
9 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “ஓய்வுநாளிலே மோசேயின் சட்டத்தின்படி செய்யத் தகுந்தது எது: நன்மை செய்வதா அல்லது தீமை செய்வதா, ஒருவனின் உயிரைக் காப்பாற்றுவதா அல்லது அழிப்பதா? என்று எனக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று நான் உங்களைக் கேட்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
and Jesus said to them, ‘I ask you, is it allowable to do good on the Sabbath – or harm? To save a life, or let it perish?’
10 இயேசு அவர்கள் எல்லோரையும் சுற்றிப் பார்த்துவிட்டு, அவனிடம், “உன் கையை நீட்டு” என்றார். அவன் அப்படியே தன் கையை நீட்டினான். அவனுடைய கை முற்றிலுமாக குணமடைந்தது.
Then, looking round at them all, he said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ The man did so; and his hand had become sound.
11 ஆனால் பரிசேயரும் மோசேயின் சட்ட ஆசிரியர்களும் கடுங்கோபமடைந்து, தாங்கள் இயேசுவுக்கு என்ன செய்யலாம் என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் பேசிக்கொள்ளத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
But the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees were mad with rage, and consulted together what they could do to Jesus.
12 அந்நாட்களிலே இயேசு ஜெபிப்பதற்காக ஒரு மலையின்மேல் ஏறினார்; அங்கே இரவு முழுவதும் இறைவனை நோக்கி ஜெபித்தார்.
Now about that time, Jesus went out, up the hill, to pray, and spent the whole night in prayer to God.
13 காலை நேரம் வந்தபோது, அவர் தமது சீடர்களை வரவழைத்து, அவர்களில் பன்னிரண்டு பேரைத் தெரிந்தெடுத்து, அவர்களை அப்போஸ்தலர் என அழைத்தார். அவர்கள் யாரெனில்:
When day came, he summoned his disciples, and chose twelve of them, whom he also named “apostles.”
14 பேதுரு என்று அவர் பெயரிட்ட சீமோன், பேதுருவின் சகோதரன் அந்திரேயா, யாக்கோபு, யோவான், பிலிப்பு, பர்தொலொமேயு,
They were Simon (whom Jesus also named Peter), and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,
15 மத்தேயு, தோமா, அல்பேயுவின் மகன் யாக்கோபு, செலோத்தே என அழைக்கப்பட்ட சீமோன்,
Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon known as the Zealot,
16 யாக்கோபின் சகோதரனாகிய யூதா, அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்த யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து என்பவர்களே.
Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who proved a traitor.
17 இயேசு அவர்களுடன் கீழே இறங்கிப்போய், சமவெளியான ஒரு இடத்தில் நின்றார். பெருந்திரளான அவருடைய சீடர்களும் யூதேயா முழுவதிலிருந்தும் எருசலேமிலிருந்தும் தீரு, சீதோன் பட்டணங்களின் கரையோரங்களிலிருந்தும் வந்த பெருந்திரளான மக்களும் அங்கே இருந்தார்கள்.
Afterwards Jesus came down the hill with them and took his stand on a level place. With him were a large crowd of his disciples, and great numbers of people from the whole of Judea, Jerusalem, and the coast district of Tyre and Sidon,
18 அவர்கள் அவர் சொல்வதைக் கேட்கவும், தங்களுடைய வியாதிகளிலிருந்து குணமடையவும் வந்திருந்தார்கள். அசுத்த ஆவிகளினால் துன்பப்பட்டவர்கள் குணமடைந்தார்கள்.
who had come to hear him and to be restored to health. Those, too, who were troubled with foul spirits were cured;
19 அவரிலிருந்து வல்லமை புறப்பட்டு எல்லோரையும் குணமாக்கினபடியினால், எல்லா மக்களும் அவரைத் தொடுவதற்கு முயற்சிசெய்தார்கள்.
and everyone in the crowd was trying to touch him, because a power went out from him which restored them all.
20 மேலும் இயேசு தமது சீடர்களைப் பார்த்துச் சொன்னதாவது: “ஏழைகளாய் இருக்கிற நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், இறைவனுடைய அரசு உங்களுக்கே உரியது.
Then, raising his eyes and looking at his disciples, Jesus said: ‘Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
21 இப்பொழுது பசியாய் இருக்கிற நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், நீங்கள் திருப்தியடைவீர்கள். இப்பொழுது அழுகிறவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் சிரிப்பீர்கள்.
Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
22 மானிடமகனாகிய என் நிமித்தம் மனிதர் உங்களை வெறுக்கும்போதும், அவர்கள் உங்களைப் புறக்கணிக்கும்போதும், உங்களை இகழும்போதும், உங்களைத் தீமையானவர்கள் என்று தள்ளிவிடும்போதும், நீங்கள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள்.
Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they expel you from among them, and insult you, and reject your name as an evil thing – because of the Son of Man.
23 “அந்நாளிலே சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, துள்ளி மகிழுங்கள். ஏனெனில், பரலோகத்தில் உங்கள் வெகுமதி மிகப்பெரிதாய் இருக்கும். அவர்களுடைய முன்னோர்களும் இறைவாக்கினரை அப்படித்தான் நடத்தினார்கள்.
Then indeed you may be glad and dance for joy, for be sure that your reward in heaven will be great; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets.
24 “ஆனால் செல்வந்தர்களாய் இருக்கிற உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ. ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் ஏற்கெனவே உங்கள் ஆறுதலைப் பெற்றுவிட்டீர்கள்.
But alas for you who are rich, for you have had your comforts in full.
25 நன்றாய் சாப்பிட்டு திருப்தியாய் இருக்கிறவர்களே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ. நீங்கள் பட்டினியாய் இருப்பீர்கள். இப்பொழுது சிரித்து மகிழ்கிறவர்களே உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, ஏனெனில் நீங்கள் புலம்பி அழுவீர்கள்.
Alas for you who are sated now, for you will hunger. Alas for you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
26 எல்லா மனிதரும் உங்களைப் புகழ்ந்து பேசும்போது உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, ஏனெனில் அவர்களுடைய முன்னோரும் பொய் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை அப்படித்தான் புகழ்ந்தார்கள்.
Alas for you when everyone speaks well of you; for this is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.
27 “எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நான் சொல்கிறேன்: உங்கள் பகைவர்களுக்கு அன்பு காட்டுங்கள், உங்களை வெறுக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்யுங்கள்,
But to you who hear I say – love your enemies, show kindness to those who hate you,
28 உங்களைச் சபிக்கிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதியுங்கள், உங்களைத் துன்புறுத்துகிறவர்களுக்காக ஜெபியுங்கள்.
bless those who curse you, pray for those who insult you.
29 ஒருவன் உங்களை ஒரு கன்னத்தில் அறைந்தால் அவனுக்கு மறு கன்னத்தையும் திருப்பிக் காட்டுங்கள். ஒருவன் உங்கள் மேலுடையை எடுத்துக்கொண்டால், உங்களது ஆடையை எடுப்பதற்கு அவனைத் தடுக்காதேயுங்கள்.
When someone gives one of you a blow on the cheek, offer the other cheek as well; and, when anyone takes away your cloak, do not keep back your coat either.
30 உங்களிடத்தில் கேட்கிற எவருக்கும் கொடுங்கள், உங்களுக்கு உரியதை எடுத்துக்கொள்வோரிடமிருந்து அவற்றைத் திருப்பி வற்புறுத்திக் கேட்காதீர்கள்.
Give to everyone who asks of you; and, when anyone takes away what is yours, do not demand its return.
31 மற்றவர்கள் உங்களுக்கு என்ன செய்யவேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறீர்களோ, அதையே நீங்களும் மற்றவர்களுக்குச் செய்யுங்கள்.
Do to others as you wish them to do to you.
32 “உங்களிடம் அன்பாய் இருக்கிறவர்களிடத்தில் நீங்களும் அன்பாய் இருந்தால், உங்களுக்கு என்ன மேன்மை? பாவிகளுங்கூட அவர்களுக்கு அன்பு காட்டுகிறவர்களுக்கு அன்பு காட்டுகிறார்கள்.
If you love only those who love you, what thanks will be due to you? Why, even the outcast love those who love them!
33 உங்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்கிறவர்களுக்கே நீங்களும் நன்மை செய்தால், உங்களுக்கு என்ன மேன்மை? பாவிகளும் அப்படிச் செய்கிறார்களே.
For, if you show kindness only to those who show kindness to you, what thanks will be due to you? Even the outcast do that!
34 மீண்டும் திருப்பிக் கொடுப்பார்கள் என்ற எதிர்பார்ப்புடன் மற்றவர்களுக்கு நீங்கள் கடன் கொடுத்தால், உங்களுக்கு என்ன மேன்மை? கடனாகக் கொடுத்ததை முழுவதுமாக பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும்படி, பாவிகளும் பாவிகளுக்கு கடன் கொடுக்கிறார்களே.
If you lend only to those from whom you expect to get something, what thanks will be due to you? Even the outcast lend to the outcast in the hope of getting as much in return!
35 ஆனால் நீங்கள் உங்கள் பகைவரில் அன்பாயிருங்கள், அவர்களுக்கு நன்மை செய்யுங்கள், திரும்பிப் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளும் எதிர்பார்ப்பின்றி அவர்களுக்குக் கடன்கொடுங்கள். அப்பொழுது உங்கள் வெகுமதி பெரிதாயிருக்கும், நீங்கள் மகா உன்னதமான இறைவனுக்குப் பிள்ளைகளாயிருப்பீர்கள்; ஏனெனில் அவர் நன்றிகெட்டவர்களுக்கும் கொடுமையானவர்களுக்கும் தயவுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறாரே.
But love your enemies, and show them kindness, and lend to them, never despairing. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the thankless and the bad.
36 உங்கள் பிதா இரக்கமுள்ளவராக இருக்கிறதுபோல, நீங்களும் இரக்கமுள்ளவர்களாக இருங்கள்.
Learn to be merciful – even as your Father is merciful.
37 “மற்றவர்கள்மேல் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு வழங்காதிருங்கள், அப்பொழுது நீங்களும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு பெறமாட்டீர்கள். மற்றவர்களைக் குற்றவாளிகளாகத் தீர்ப்பு செய்யாதிருங்கள், அப்பொழுது நீங்களும் குற்றவாளிகளாகத் தீர்க்கப்படமாட்டீர்கள். மன்னியுங்கள், அப்பொழுது நீங்களும் மன்னிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்.
Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
38 கொடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்கும் கொடுக்கப்படும். அமுக்கி குலுக்கி நிரம்பி வழியத்தக்கதாக சரியான அளவினாலே அளக்கப்பட்டு, உங்கள் மடியிலே கொட்டப்படும். நீங்கள் எந்த அளவை பயன்படுத்துகிறீர்களோ, அதனாலேயே உங்களுக்கும் அளக்கப்படும்” என்றார்.
Give, and others will give to you. A generous measure, pressed and shaken down, and running over, will they pour into your lap; for the standard you use will be the standard used for you.’
39 மேலும் இயேசு இந்த உவமையைச் சொன்னார்: “குருடன் குருடனுக்கு வழிகாட்ட முடியுமா? அப்படிச் செய்தால், அவர்கள் இருவரும் குழியிலே விழுவார்கள் அல்லவா?
Then, speaking in parables, Jesus said, ‘Can one blind person guide another? Will they not both fall into a ditch?
40 ஒரு மாணவன் ஆசிரியரைவிட மேலானவன் அல்ல, ஆனால் முழுமையாய் பயிற்சி பெற்ற ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் ஆசிரியரைப்போல் இருப்பான்.
A student is not above their teacher; yet every finished student will be like their teacher.
41 “நீ உனது கண்ணிலுள்ள உத்திரத்தைக் கவனிக்காமல், உனது சகோதரனின் கண்ணிலுள்ள துரும்பைப் பார்ப்பது ஏன்?
And why do you look at the speck of sawdust in someone’s eye, while you pay no attention at all to the plank of wood in your own?
42 உன் கண்ணில் உத்திரம் இருக்கையில் நீ உனது சகோதரனிடம், ‘நான் உனது கண்ணிலுள்ள துரும்பை எடுத்துப் போடுகிறேன்,’ என எப்படிச் சொல்லலாம்? வேஷக்காரனே, முதலில் உன் கண்ணிலுள்ள உத்திரத்தை எடுத்துப்போடு; பிறகு உனது சகோதரனின் கண்ணிலுள்ள துரும்பை எடுத்துப் போடத்தக்கதாக நீ தெளிவாகப் பார்க்கமுடியும்.
How can you say to your friend “Friend, let me take out the speck in your eye,” while you yourself do not see the plank in your own? Hypocrite! Take out the plank from your own eye first, and then you will see clearly how to take out the speck in your friend’s.
43 “நல்ல மரம் கெட்ட கனியைக் கொடுப்பதில்லை, கெட்டமரம் நல்ல கனியைக் கொடுப்பதில்லை.
There is no such thing as a good tree bearing worthless fruit, or, on the other hand, a worthless tree bearing good fruit.
44 ஒவ்வொரு மரமும் அதன் கனியினாலேயே இனம் தெரியப்படுகிறது. முட்புதர்களிலிருந்து ஒருவரும் அத்திப்பழங்களையோ அல்லது திராட்சைப் பழங்களையோ பறிக்கிறதில்லை.
For every tree is known by its own fruit. People do not gather figs off thorn bushes, nor pick a bunch of grapes off a bramble.
45 நல்ல மனிதன் தன் இருதயத்தில் நிரப்பி வைத்திருக்கிற நன்மையிலிருந்து, நல்ல காரியங்களை வெளியே கொண்டுவருவான்; தீய மனிதன் தன் இருதயத்தில் நிரப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிற தீமையிலிருந்து, தீய காரியங்களை வெளியே கொண்டுவருவான். ஏனெனில் இருதயத்தின் நிறைவிலிருந்தே வாய் பேசும்.
A good person, from the good stores of their heart, brings out what is good; while a bad person, from their bad stores, brings out what is bad. For what fills someone’s heart will rise to their lips.
46 “நான் சொல்கிறதைச் செய்யாமல், ‘ஆண்டவரே, ஆண்டவரே’ என்று ஏன் என்னைக் கூப்பிடுகிறீர்கள்?
Why do you call me “Master! Master!” and yet fail to do what I tell you?
47 என்னிடம் வந்து, நான் சொல்லும் இவ்வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, இவற்றின்படி செயல்படுகிறவன், எதற்கு ஒப்பானவன் என்று நான் உங்களுக்கு காண்பிக்கிறேன்.
Everyone who comes to me and listens to my teaching and acts on it – I will show you to whom they may be compared.
48 அவன் கற்பாறையிலே ஆழமாய்த் தோண்டி, அதில் அஸ்திபாரமிட்டு வீடு கட்டுகிறவனுக்கு ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான். வெள்ளம் வந்தபோது, நீரோட்டம் அந்த வீட்டின்மேல் மோதியது. ஆனால் அது நன்றாகக் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்ததால் அதை அசைக்கமுடியவில்லை.
They may be compared to a person building a house, who dug, and went deep, and laid the foundation on the rock. Then, when a flood came, the river swept down on that house, but had no power to shake it, because it had been built well.
49 ஆனால் என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டும், அதன்படி செயல்படாதவனோ, அஸ்திபாரமின்றி நிலத்திலே வீட்டைக் கட்டியவனைப்போல் இருக்கிறான். நீரோட்டம் அந்த வீட்டின்மேல் மோதிய உடனே அது இடிந்து விழுந்து, முற்றுமாய் ஒழிந்தது.”
But those who have listened and not acted on what they have heard may be compared to a person who built a house on the ground without any foundation. The river swept down on it, and the house immediately collapsed; and great was the crash that followed.’
