லூக்கா 2
1 அந்நாட்களில் சீசர் அகுஸ்து, ரோமப் பேரரசு முழுவதும் ஒரு குடிமதிப்பு எடுக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்று கட்டளை பிறப்பித்தான்.
In those days Augustus Caesar issued an edict for a census of the whole inhabited world.
2 சீரியா நாட்டிற்கு சிரேனியு என்பவன் ஆளுநனாய் இருந்த காலத்தில் இடம்பெற்ற முதலாம் குடிமதிப்பு இதுவேயாகும்.
This was the first census, When Quirinius was governor of Syria.
3 எனவே, ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்களைப் பதிவு செய்வதற்காக, தங்கள் தங்கள் ஊர்களுக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
And every one went to be registered, each to the town to which he belonged.
4 அப்பொழுது யோசேப்பும் கலிலேயாவிலுள்ள நாசரேத் பட்டணத்திலிருந்து, யூதேயாவிலுள்ள தாவீதின் பட்டணமான பெத்லகேமுக்குப் போனான். அவன் தாவீதின் குடும்பத்தையும் வம்சத்தையும் சேர்ந்தவனாயிருந்தான்.
And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city if Nazareth, into Judea, to David’s town of Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David.
5 அவன் தனக்கு மனைவியாக நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மரியாளையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, பதிவுசெய்யும்படி போனான். அப்பொழுது அவள் கர்ப்பவதியாயிருந்தாள்.
He went to be registered along with Mary, who was espoused to him, and was pregnant.
6 அவர்கள் அங்கிருக்கையில், அவளுக்குப் பிரசவநேரம் வந்தது;
But while they were there the days were fulfilled for her delivery.
7 அவள் தன்னுடைய முதல் பிள்ளையான ஆண்குழந்தையைப் பெற்றாள். பிள்ளையை அவள் துணிகளினால் சுற்றி, தொழுவத்திலிருந்த தொட்டியில் கிடத்தினாள்; ஏனெனில் சத்திரத்தில் தங்குவதற்கு அவர்களுக்கு இடம் கிடைக்கவில்லை.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 அன்றிரவு அருகேயிருந்த வயல்வெளிகளில் மேய்ப்பர்கள் தங்கியிருந்து, இரவிலே தங்கள் மந்தையைக் காவல் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night.
9 கர்த்தரின் தூதன் ஒருவன் அவர்களுக்குக் காட்சியளித்தான், கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் பிரகாசித்தது. அவர்கள் மிகவும் பயந்தார்கள்.
When suddenly an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone round them; and they feared with a great fear. The angel said to them.
10 ஆனால் அந்தத் தூதன் அவர்களிடம், “பயப்படவேண்டாம், எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் பெருமகிழ்ச்சியைக் கொடுக்கும் நற்செய்தியை நான் உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறேன்.
"Have no fear, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be for all the people.
11 இன்று தாவீதின் பட்டணத்திலே ஒரு இரட்சகர் உங்களுக்காக பிறந்திருக்கிறார்; அவரே கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து.
"For unto you born this day in there is born in David’s town a Saviour, who is the Anointed Lord.
12 துணிகளினால் சுற்றப்பட்ட ஒரு குழந்தையை தொழுவத்தில் கிடத்தியிருப்பதை நீங்கள் காண்பீர்கள். இதுவே உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட அடையாளம்” என்றான்.
"And this is a sign to you; You shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes lying in a manger."
13 அப்பொழுது திடீரென பரலோக சேனையின் ஒரு பெருங்கூட்டம் அந்தத் தூதனுடன் காட்சியளித்து,
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly army praising God and saying,
14 “உன்னதத்தில் இறைவனுக்கு மகிமை உண்டாகட்டும், பூமியில் அவர் தயவு காட்டுகிற மனிதருக்கு சமாதானம் உண்டாகட்டும்” என்று இறைவனைத் துதித்தார்கள்.
"Glory to God in the highest, And in earth peace among men who please him"
15 அந்தத் தூதர் அவர்களைவிட்டுப் பரலோகத்துக்குத் திரும்பிப் போனபின்பு, மேய்ப்பர் ஒருவரையொருவர் பார்த்து, “நாம் பெத்லகேமுக்குப் போய், நிகழ்ந்திருப்பதாகக் கர்த்தர் நமக்குச் சொல்லியிருக்கிற இந்தச் சம்பவத்தைப் பார்ப்போம் வாருங்கள்” என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.
Now when the angels had left them, and gone away to heaven, the shepherds said to one to another, "Let us go now even to Bethlehem, and see this saying which has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us."
16 விரைவாய்ப் புறப்பட்டு மரியாளையும் யோசேப்பையும் தொழுவத்திலே கிடத்தப்பட்டிருந்த குழந்தையையும் கண்டார்கள்.
so they made haste, and came and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in the manger.
17 பின்பு அக்குழந்தையைக் குறித்து இறைதூதர்கள் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்ட செய்தியை எங்கும் பரப்பினார்கள்.
When they had seen, they made known about the words which had been spoken to them concerning the child.
18 மேய்ப்பர்கள் சொன்னதைக் கேட்ட எல்லோரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
And all who heard it were astonished at the things which were told to them by the shepherds.
19 மரியாளோ இந்தக் காரியங்களையெல்லாம் தன் இருதயத்திலே வைத்து, ஆழ்ந்து யோசித்தாள்.
But Mary treasured up all those words, Often pondering on on them in her heart.
20 தங்களுக்கு சொல்லப்பட்டபடியே நடந்திருந்தபடியால், மேய்ப்பர்கள் கண்டு கேட்ட எல்லாவற்றையும் குறித்து இறைவனைத் துதித்து, மகிமைப்படுத்திக்கொண்டே திரும்பிச் சென்றார்கள்.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying God and praising him for all those things that they had seen and heard, even as it was told to them.
21 குழந்தைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் செய்யப்படவேண்டிய எட்டாம் நாளிலே, அவருக்கு இயேசு என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டது; அது தாயின் கர்ப்பத்தில் உருவாகும் முன்பே, இறைவனின் தூதனால் அவருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பெயர்.
When eight days had passed, and the time had come to circumcise him, he was called Jesus, the name given him by the angel before his conception in the womb.
22 மோசேயின் சட்டத்தின்படி அவர்களுக்குரிய சுத்திகரிப்பின் காலம் முடிவடைந்ததும், யோசேப்பும் மரியாளும் குழந்தையைக் கர்த்தருக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கும்படி எருசலேமுக்குக் கொண்டுசென்றார்கள்.
And when the days for purification according to the law of Moses had passed, they took him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord,
23 ஒவ்வொரு முதற்பேறான ஆண் குழந்தையும் கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று கர்த்தருடைய சட்டத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடியே இதைச் செய்தார்கள்.
as it is written in the law of Moses, Every firstborn male shall be called holy to the Lord.
24 கர்த்தருடைய சட்டத்தில் சொல்லப்பட்டபடியே, ஒரு ஜோடிப் புறாக்களையாவது இரண்டு மாடப்புறாக் குஞ்சுகளையாவது அவர்கள் பலியாகச் செலுத்தும்படியே அங்கு சென்றார்கள்.
And they also offered a sacrifice as commanded in the Law of the Lord A pair of turtle-doves or two young pigeons.
25 அப்பொழுது எருசலேமில் சிமியோன் என அழைக்கப்பட்ட ஒருவன் இருந்தான்; அவன் நீதிமானும் இறை பக்தி உள்ளவனுமாயிருந்தான். பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவர் அவன்மேல் இருந்தார்; அவன் இஸ்ரயேலர்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் அளிப்பவரின் வருகைக்காகக் காத்திருந்தான்.
Now there was in Jerusalem a man whose name was Simeon. He was righteous and devout, and was waiting for the consolation of Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 கர்த்தருடைய கிறிஸ்துவைக் காணுமுன் அவன் இறந்து போகமாட்டான் என்று பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் அவனுக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தப்பட்டிருந்தது.
Now it has been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
27 அன்று சிமியோன் பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரால் ஏவப்பட்டு, ஆலயத்திற்குள் வந்திருந்தான். பிள்ளையாகிய இயேசுவுக்கு மோசேயின் சட்ட வழக்கத்தின்படி செய்வதற்காக, அவருடைய பெற்றோர் அவரை உள்ளே கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்.
And he came into the Temple, led by the Spirit. and when his parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the law,
28 அப்பொழுது சிமியோன் அவரைத் தனது கையில் எடுத்து, இறைவனைத் துதித்துச் சொன்னதாவது:
he took him up in his arms and blessed God and said,
29 “ஆண்டவரே, நீர் வாக்குறுதி தந்தபடியே, உமது வேலைக்காரனாகிய என்னைச் சமாதானத்துடன் போகும்படி இப்பொழுது அனுப்பும்.
"Now lettest thou thy slave depart, O Master; according to thy word in peace,
30 ஏனெனில் எனது கண்கள் உமது இரட்சிப்பைக் கண்டன;
"Because my eyes had seen the salvation,
31 இந்த இரட்சிப்பை எல்லா மக்களின் பார்வையிலும் நீர் ஆயத்தமாக்கியிருக்கிறீர்:
"Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples;
32 இது யூதரல்லாதவருக்கு வெளிப்படுத்துதலைக் கொடுக்கும் ஒரு ஒளி, உமது மக்களான இஸ்ரயேலரின் மகிமை” என்றான்.
"A light for the unveiling of the Gentiles And the glory of thy people Israel."
33 குழந்தையின் தகப்பனும் தாயும் அவரைப்பற்றிச் சொல்லப்பட்டதைக் குறித்து வியப்படைந்தார்கள்.
And while his father and mother were marveling at the words that were spoken concerning him, Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother.
34 அப்பொழுது சிமியோன் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்து, குழந்தையின் தாயாகிய மரியாளுக்குச் சொன்னதாவது: “இஸ்ரயேலில் பலர் வீழ்வதற்கும் பலர் எழுந்திருப்பதற்கும் காரணமாக இந்தக் குழந்தை நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. பலருக்கு எதிர்க்கப்படும் அடையாளமாகவும் இருக்கும்.
"Behold this child is set for the falling and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.
35 இதனால் அநேகருடைய இருதயத்தின் சிந்தனைகள் வெளிப்படுத்தப்படும். உனது ஆத்துமாவையும் ஒரு வாள் ஊடுருவிச் செல்லும்” என்றான்.
Yea, and a sword shall pierce through your own soul also, that the thoughts out of many hearts may be revealed."
36 ஆலயத்தில் அன்னாள் எனப்பட்ட ஒரு இறைவாக்கினள் இருந்தாள். இவள் ஆசேர் கோத்திரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த பானுவேலின் மகள். இவள் மிகவும் வயது சென்றவள்; தனது திருமணத்திற்குப்பின் ஏழு வருடங்களே தனது கணவனுடன் வாழ்ந்திருந்தாள்.
There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in age, having lived with her husband seven years, after her girlhood,
37 அதற்குப் பின்பு எண்பத்து நான்கு வயது வரைக்கும் அவள் விதவையாகவே இருந்தாள். அவள் ஒருபோதும் ஆலயத்தைவிட்டு விலகாமல், இரவும் பகலும் உபவாசத்துடனும் மன்றாட்டுடனும் வழிபட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தாள்.
and then being a widow even for fourscore and four years. She departed not from the temple, but worshiped with the fasting and prayer, night and day.
38 அந்த வேளையில் அவள் அங்கு வந்து இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தி, எருசலேமின் மீட்பை எதிர்பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருந்த எல்லோருடனும் அந்தக் குழந்தையைக் குறித்துப் பேசினாள்.
She came up at that very hour, and gave thanks to God, and spoke of the child to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem.
39 கர்த்தருடைய சட்டத்தின்படி செய்யவேண்டிய எல்லாவற்றையும் செய்துமுடித்த பின்பு, யோசேப்பும் மரியாளும் கலிலேயாவில் வசிக்கும் தங்கள் சொந்த ஊரான நாசரேத்திற்குத் திரும்பிச் சென்றார்கள்.
As soon as all that the law required had been done, they returned to Galilee to their own town, Nazareth.
40 அந்தப் பிள்ளை வளர்ந்து, வலிமைபெற்று, ஞானம் நிறைந்தவராய் இருந்தார்; இறைவனின் கிருபையும் அவர்மேல் இருந்தது.
And the child grew and became strong, becoming full of wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.
41 இயேசுவின் பெற்றோர், ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகையைக் கொண்டாடுவதற்கு, எருசலேமுக்குப் போவார்கள்.
Now his parents were accustomed to go up to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the Passover.
42 இயேசுவுக்குப் பன்னிரண்டு வயதாயிருந்தபோது, வழக்கத்தின்படியே அவர்கள் பண்டிகைக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
And when he was twelve years old they went up, as was customary, at the time of the feast
43 பண்டிகை முடிந்து அவருடைய பெற்றோர் வீடு திரும்புகையில், சிறுவன் இயேசுவோ எருசலேமில் தங்கிவிட்டார். ஆனால், பெற்றோர் அதை அறியாதிருந்தார்கள்.
After spending the full number of days they started home, but the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and his mother did not know this,
44 தங்களோடு வந்தவர்களுடன் அவரும் இருக்கிறார் என்று நினைத்துக்கொண்டு, அவர்கள் ஒரு நாள் பயணம் செய்தார்கள். பின்பு அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய உறவினர் மத்தியிலும் நண்பர் மத்தியிலும் அவரைத் தேடத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
but supposed that he was in the company, and went a days journey. Then they hunted for him among his kinsfolk and acquaintance;
45 அவர்கள் இயேசுவைத் தேடியும் காணாதபோது, அவரைத் தேடிக்கொண்டு எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பிச் சென்றார்கள்.
and when they did not find him they returned to Jerusalem, making anxious inquiry for him.
46 மூன்று நாட்களுக்குபின், அவர் ஆலய முற்றத்தில் இருப்பதைக் கண்டார்கள். அவர் போதகர்கள் நடுவில் உட்கார்ந்து, அவர்கள் சொல்வதைக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டும், அவர்களிடம் கேள்விகள் கேட்டுக்கொண்டும் இருந்தார்.
On the third day they found him sitting in the Temple, among the Rabbis, both listening to them and asking questions.
47 அவர் சொன்னதைக் கேட்ட எல்லோரும் அவருடைய புத்தியைக் குறித்தும், அவர் கொடுத்த பதில்களைக் குறித்தும் வியப்படைந்தார்கள்.
All that heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.
48 அவருடைய பெற்றோர் அவரைக் கண்டபோது, அவர்களும் வியப்படைந்தார்கள். அவருடைய தாய் அவரிடம், “மகனே, ஏன் எங்களுக்கு இப்படிச் செய்தாய்? உன் தகப்பனும் நானும் பரிதவிப்போடு உன்னைத் தேடிக்கொண்டிருந்தோமே” என்றாள்.
When they saw him they were astonished, and his mother said to him "Child, why have you treated us so? Behold your father and I have been looking for you in anguish."
49 அதற்கு இயேசு, “நீங்கள் ஏன் என்னைத் தேடினீர்கள், நான் எனது தந்தையின் வீட்டில் இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று உங்களுக்குத் தெரியாதா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
He answered, "Why is it that you have been looking for me, did you not realize that I had to be in my Father’s house?"
50 அவர்களோ, இயேசு தங்களுக்குச் சொன்னதை விளங்கிக்கொள்ளவில்லை.
But they did not understand the words that he spoke to them.
51 பின்பு அவர் அவர்களுடன் நாசரேத்திற்குப் போய், அங்கே அவர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிந்திருந்தார். ஆனால் அவருடைய தாயோ இவற்றையெல்லாம் தன் உள்ளத்தில் வைத்துக்கொண்டாள்.
Then he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and he was always obedient to them. But his mother kept treasuring up all these incidents in her hearts.
52 இயேசு ஞானத்திலும் வளர்த்தியிலும் இறைவனுடைய கிருபையிலும் மனிதர் தயவிலும் அதிகமாக வளர்ந்தார்.
And Jesus was ever advancing in wisdom and in status and in favor with God and man.
