லேவியராகமம் 11
1 மீண்டும் யெகோவா மோசேயுடனும் ஆரோனுடனும் பேசி,
Yahweh said to Aaron and Moses/me,
2 “நீங்கள் இஸ்ரயேலருக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியதாவது: ‘பூமியில் வாழும் எல்லா மிருகங்களுக்குள்ளும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக் கூடியவைகள் இவையே:
“Tell the Israeli people that [this is what Yahweh says]: From all the animals that live on the land, these are the ones that you are permitted to eat:
3 முழுவதும் விரிந்த குளம்புடையதும், இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதுமான எந்த மிருகத்தையும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.
The ones that have hooves that are completely split and that (chew their cuds/bring their food up from their stomachs to chew it again).
4 “‘சில மிருகங்கள் இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் மட்டும் இருக்கின்றன, சில மிருகங்கள் விரிந்த குளம்பு உடையதாய் மட்டும் இருக்கின்றன, அவற்றை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது. ஒட்டகம் இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் இருந்தாலும் அதற்கு விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாதபடியால், அது சம்பிரதாய முறைப்படி உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.
There are some animals that chew their cuds but do not have split hooves, and some animals that have split hooves but do not chew their cuds. You must not eat any of those animals. [For example], camels chew their cuds but do not have split hooves, so they are unacceptable for you to eat.
5 அதேபோல், குழிமுயலானது இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் இருந்தாலும், விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாதபடியால், அதுவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.
Rock badgers chew their cuds but do not have split hooves, so they are unacceptable for you to eat.
6 முயல் இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதாய் இருந்தும், விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாதபடியால், அதுவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.
Rabbits chew their cuds but do not have split hooves, so they are unacceptable for you to eat.
7 பன்றி, விரிந்த குளம்புடையதாயிருந்தாலும், இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதில்லை; ஆதலால் அதுவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.
Pigs have completely split hooves but they do not chew their cuds, so they are unacceptable for you to eat.
8 நீங்கள் அவற்றின் இறைச்சியைச் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது. அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தொடவும் கூடாது. அவை உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கிறது.
All of those animals are unacceptable for you, so you must not eat their meat or even touch their carcasses.
9 “‘கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீரில் வாழ்கின்ற உயிரினங்களில் துடுப்புகளும் செதில்களும் உள்ள எதையும் நீங்கள் சாப்பிடலாம்.
From all the creatures that live in the oceans and the streams, you are permitted to eat any that have fins and scales.
10 கடல்களும் ஆறுகளுமாகிய தண்ணீரில் வாழ்கின்ற உயிரினங்களுக்குள்ளே துடுப்புகளும், செதில்களும் இல்லாத எல்லாவற்றையும் நீங்கள் அருவருக்கவேண்டும்.
But you must detest [and not eat] those that do not have fins and scales. That includes ones that are very small.
11 நீங்கள் அவற்றை அருவருக்கவேண்டும் என்பதால், அவைகளின் இறைச்சியைச் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது. அவற்றின் செத்த உடல்களை நீங்கள் அருவருத்து ஒதுக்க வேண்டும்.
You must despise them, and you must not eat their meat, and you must detest their carcasses.
12 நீரில் வாழ்கின்ற துடுப்புகளும், செதில்களும் இல்லாதவையெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்.
You must detest everything that lives in the water that does not have fins and scales.
13 “‘பறவைகளில் நீங்கள் அருவருக்கவேண்டியதும், அருவருப்பாய் இருப்பதால் சாப்பிடாமல் தவிர்க்கவேண்டியதும் இவையே: கழுகு, கருடன், கடலூராஞ்சி,
There are some birds that you must detest [and not eat]. They include eagles, bearded vultures, black vultures,
14 செம்பருந்து எல்லாவித வல்லூறுகள்,
kites, any kind of falcon/buzzard,
15 எல்லாவித அண்டங்காக்கைகள்,
any kind of raven,
16 கொம்பு ஆந்தை, அலறும் ஆந்தை, கடல் பறவை, எல்லாவித பருந்துகள்,
horned owls, screech owls, seagulls, any kind of hawk,
17 சின்ன ஆந்தை, நீர்க்காகம், பெரிய ஆந்தை,
small owls, cormorants, large owls,
18 வெள்ளை ஆந்தை, பாலைவன ஆந்தை, மீன்கொத்தும் பெரிய பறவை,
white owls, desert owls, vultures that eat dead animals,
19 கொக்கு, எல்லாவித நாரைகள், புழுக்கொத்தி, வவ்வால் என்பனவாகும்.
storks, any kind of heron, hoopoes, and bats.
20 “‘பறக்கும் பூச்சி வகைகளில் நான்கு கால்களால் நடக்கின்ற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பானவை.
You must detest [and not eat] flying insects that [sometimes] walk on the ground [MTY].
21 ஆனாலும், நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடிய நான்கு கால்களால் நடக்கும் சிறகுகளை உடைய சில உயிரினங்களாவன: தரையில் தத்திப்பாயக்கூடிய இணைக்கப்பட்ட கால்களையுடையவை.
But you are permitted to eat creatures with wings that sometimes walk on the ground if they have jointed legs for hopping around.
22 இவைகளில் நீங்கள், எல்லா வகையான வெட்டுக்கிளிகளையும், பச்சை வெட்டுக்கிளிகளையும், சில்வண்டுகளையும், விட்டில்களையும் சாப்பிடலாம்.
They include locusts, crickets, and grasshoppers.
23 ஆனால் நான்கு கால்களையும், சிறகுகளையும் உடைய மற்ற எல்லா பூச்சிகளையும் நீங்கள் அருவருக்கவேண்டும்.
But you must detest [and not eat] other insects with wings that have four legs.
24 “‘இவற்றால் உங்களை நீங்கள் அசுத்தமாக்கிக்கொள்வீர்கள். அவற்றின் செத்த உடல்களைத் தொடுகிற எவனும் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.
‘There are certain creatures that if you touch their carcasses you will become defiled. Anyone who touches their carcasses must not touch other people until that evening.
25 அவற்றின் செத்த உடலை எடுக்கிறவன் எவனும் தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். மாலைவரை அவன் அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.
Anyone who picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes and not touch other people until that evening.
26 “‘விரிந்த குளம்பு இல்லாததும், இரையை அசைப்போடுகிறதுமான மிருகங்கள் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தொடுகிற எவனும் அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.
‘The animals whose carcasses you must not touch are those that have hooves that are not completely divided or animals that do not chew their cuds. Anyone who touches the carcasses of any of those animals becomes (defiled/unacceptable to me).
27 நான்கு கால்களால் நடக்கும் எல்லா மிருகங்களுக்குள்ளும் பாதங்களை ஊன்றி நடக்கின்ற யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்க வேண்டும்; அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.
From all the animals that walk on the ground, you must not touch the carcasses of those that have paws to walk on. Anyone who touches one of their carcasses must not touch other people until that evening.
28 அவற்றின் பிணங்களைத் தூக்குகிற எவனும், தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். அவன் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான். அவை உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவை.
Anyone who picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes and not touch other people until that evening, because touching their carcasses (defiles you/causes you to become unacceptable to me).
29 “‘தரையில் ஊரும்பிராணிகளில் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவைகள்: மரநாய், எலி, எல்லா வகையான ஓணான்,
‘From all the animals that walk on the ground, these are the ones that (defile you/cause you to become unacceptable to me) [if you touch them]: Moles, rats, any kind of lizard,
30 மரப்பல்லி, உடும்பு, பல்லி, அரணை, பச்சோந்தி என்பனவாகும்.
geckos, skinks, and chameleons.
31 ஊரும்பிராணிகளில் இவையெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமானவை. இவற்றிலும் செத்ததைத் தொடுகிறவன் சூரியன் மறையும்வரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.
Those creatures that scurry across the ground (defile you/cause you to become unacceptable to me); anyone who touches one of their carcasses must not touch other people until the evening.
32 அவைகளில் ஒன்று செத்து மரப்பாத்திரத்திலோ, உடையிலோ, தோலிலோ, சாக்குப்பையிலோ, பயன்படுத்தும் எந்தப் பாத்திரத்திலாவது விழுந்தால், அவை அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அதை தண்ணீரில் போடுங்கள். அவை மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். பின்பு அவை சுத்தமாகும்.
When one of those creatures dies and falls on something, the thing that it falls on, whatever it is used for, will become (defiled/unacceptable to me), whether it is made of wood or cloth or the hide of some animal or from rough cloth. You must put it in water. Then you must not use it until that evening.
33 அவைகளில் ஒன்று மண்பானைக்குள் விழுமானால், அதிலுள்ள அனைத்தும் அசுத்தமாகும். எனவே அந்தப் பானையை உடைக்கவேண்டும்.
If one of them falls into a clay pot, everything in it becomes defiled, and you must break that pot into pieces.
34 அந்தப் பானையிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் எந்த உணவிலாவது பட்டுவிட்டால், அது அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அதிலிருந்து குடிக்கும் எந்தவித பானமும் அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.
If you pour water from that pot on any food, you must not eat that food. And you must not drink any water from that pot.
35 செத்தவைகளில் ஒன்று எதில் விழுந்தாலும், அது அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும். அடுப்பிலோ அல்லது சட்டியிலோ விழுந்தால், அவை உடைக்கப்பட வேண்டும். அவை அசுத்தமானவை. அவற்றை நீங்கள் அசுத்தமாக எண்ணவேண்டும்.
Anything that one of the carcasses of those creatures falls on becomes (defiled/unacceptable to me); even if it falls on an oven or a cooking pot, anything that it falls on must be broken into pieces. It becomes unacceptable to me and you must not use it again.
36 ஆனாலும் செத்ததில் ஒன்று நீரூற்றிலோ, தண்ணீர் சேமிக்கும் தொட்டியிலோ விழுந்தால், அவை அசுத்தமாகாது. அதற்குள் செத்துக்கிடப்பதைத் தொடுகிறவன் அசுத்தமாய் இருக்கிறான்.
If one of their carcasses falls into a spring or a pit for storing water, the water may still be drunk, but anyone who touches one of those carcasses becomes unacceptable to me.
37 அது விதைக்க வைத்திருக்கும் எந்தத் தானியத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தாலும் சுத்தமாகவே இருக்கும்.
If one of those carcasses falls on seeds that are to be planted, those seeds are still acceptable to be planted.
38 ஆகிலும் தானியம் நீரில் நனைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் போது, அது தானியத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தால், அந்தத் தானியம் உங்களுக்கு அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.
But if water has been put on the seeds and then a carcass falls on them, the seeds must be thrown away.
39 “‘ஆகிலும், நீங்கள் சாப்பிடும்படி அனுமதிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு மிருகம் இறந்தால், அந்தப் பிணத்தைத் தொடுகிறவன் எவனும் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாய் இருப்பான்.
‘If an animal [whose meat] you are permitted to eat dies, anyone who touches its carcass must not touch other people until that evening.
40 அந்தப் பிணத்தில் எதையாவது சாப்பிடுகிறவன் எவனும் தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். மாலைவரை அவன் அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான். அந்தப் பிணத்தைத் தூக்குகிற எவனும் தன் உடைகளைக் கழுவவேண்டும். அவன் மாலைவரை அசுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.
Anyone who eats some meat from that carcass must wash his clothes, and then he must not touch anyone until that evening.
41 “‘தரையில் ஊரும்பிராணிகள் எல்லாம் அருவருப்பானவை. அவற்றைச் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது.
‘All creatures that scurry across the ground, including those that move on their bellies and those that crawl, are detestable, and they must not be eaten.
42 தரையில் ஊரும் எந்தப் பிராணியும் அவை வயிற்றினால் ஊர்ந்தாலும் சரி, நான்கு கால்களாலோ அநேகம் கால்களாலோ நகர்ந்தாலும் சரி, அவை அருவருப்பானவையே. அவற்றை நீங்கள் சாப்பிடக்கூடாது.
43 இந்த ஊரும்பிராணிகளில் எதினாலாவது நீங்கள் உங்களை அசுத்தப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம். நீங்கள் அவற்றினாலாவது அவற்றின் மூலமாவது உங்களை அசுத்தமாக்கிக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம்.
Do not (defile yourselves/cause you to become unacceptable to me) by [eating] any of those creatures [DOU].
44 நான் உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா. ஆகையால் நீங்கள் உங்களை அர்ப்பணம் செய்து பரிசுத்தராயிருங்கள். ஏனெனில், நான் பரிசுத்தர். நீங்கள் தரையில் ஊர்ந்து திரியும் எந்தவித பிராணியாலும் உங்களை அசுத்தப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டாம்.
I am Yahweh your God, and I am holy, so you must consecrate yourselves and be holy. You must avoid eating things that cause you to be unacceptable to me. Do not cause yourselves to become unacceptable to me by eating creatures that scurry across the ground.
45 உங்கள் இறைவனாயிருக்கும்படி உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து வெளியே கொண்டுவந்த யெகோவா நானே. ஆகையால் நீங்கள் பரிசுத்தமாயிருங்கள். ஏனெனில், நான் பரிசுத்தர்.
I am Yahweh, the one who freed you from [being slaves in] Egypt, in order to be your God. Therefore, because I am holy, you must be holy.
46 “‘மிருகங்கள், பறவைகள், நீரில் நீந்தும் உயிரினங்கள், தரையில் ஊரும்பிராணிகள் அனைத்தையும் பற்றிய ஒழுங்குவிதிகள் இவையே.
'Those are the regulations concerning animals and birds, all the living creatures that live in water or scurry across the ground.
47 அசுத்தமானதற்கும், சுத்தமானதற்கும் இடையில் வித்தியாசத்தைக் காட்டவும், சாப்பிடக்கூடிய உயிரினங்களுக்கும், சாப்பிடக்கூடாத உயிரினங்களுக்கும் இடையில் உள்ள வேறுபாட்டை காட்டவுமே இந்த ஒழுங்குவிதிகள் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன’ என்றார்.”
You must learn what things [I say] are acceptable to me and what things are not, and learn what things you are permitted to eat and what things you are not permitted to eat.’”
