1 ஏகூத் இறந்தபின் இஸ்ரயேலர் திரும்பவும் யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் கொடுமையானதைச் செய்தார்கள்.

10 அங்கே பாராக் செபுலோனியரையும், நப்தலியினரையும் கேதேஸுக்கு வரவழைத்தான். அப்பொழுது பத்தாயிரம் ஆண்கள் அவனைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து சென்றார்கள். அவர்களுடன் தெபோராளும் சென்றாள்.

14 தெபோராள் பாராக்கிடம், “நீ போ! இதுவே சிசெராவை யெகோவா உன் கையில் தரும் நாள், உனக்கு முன்னே யெகோவா போகவில்லையா?” என்றாள். எனவே பாராக்கும் அவனுடனிருந்த பத்தாயிரம் போர்வீரர்களும் தாபோர் மலையை விட்டு கீழே இறங்கினார்கள்.

15 பாராக் முன்னேறுகையில் யெகோவா சிசெராவையும், அவனுடைய ரதங்களையும், அவனுடைய இராணுவத்தையும் வாளினால் முறியடித்தார். அப்பொழுது சிசெரா தன் தேரைக் கைவிட்டு ஓடித் தப்பினான்.
and to confuse LORD [obj] Sisera and [obj] all [the] chariot and [obj] all [the] camp to/for lip: edge sword to/for face: before Barak and to go down Sisera from upon [the] chariot and to flee in/on/with foot his
16 ஆனால் பாராக் ரதங்களையும், இராணுவத்தையும் அரோஷேத் ஹகோயிம் வரைக்கும் துரத்திச்சென்றான். சிசெராவின் எல்லாப் படைகளும் வாளுக்கு இரையாகின. ஒருவனும் மிஞ்சவில்லை.

17 ஆயினும் சிசெரா கேனியனான ஏபேரின் மனைவி யாகேலுடைய கூடாரத்திற்குள் ஓடினான். ஏனெனில் ஆத்சோரின் அரசன் யாபீனுக்கும் கேனியனான ஏபேரின் வம்சத்துக்கும் சிநேகபூர்வமான உறவு இருந்தது.

18 அப்பொழுது யாகேல் வெளியில் சென்று சிசெராவைச் சந்தித்து அவனிடம், “வாரும் ஐயா! என் கூடாரத்திற்குள் வாரும். பயப்படவேண்டாம்” என்றாள். எனவே அவன் கூடாரத்திற்குள் சென்றான். அப்பொழுது அவள் அவனை ஒரு போர்வையால் மூடிவிட்டாள்.

19 அவன், “நான் தாகமாயிருக்கிறேன். தயவுசெய்து தண்ணீர் தா” என்றான். அவள் பாலுள்ள தோல் குடுவையைத் திறந்து அவனுக்குக் குடிக்கக்கொடுத்து அவனை மூடிவிட்டாள்.

20 “அவ்வேளை சிசெரா அவளிடம், நீ கூடாரவாசலில் நின்றுகொள். யாராவது வந்து, ‘இங்கு யாரேனும் இருக்கிறார்களா?’ என்று கேட்டால், ‘இல்லை’ என்று சொல் என்றான்.”

21 ஆனால் ஏபேரின் மனைவி யாகேல் சிசெரா களைத்துப்போய் ஆழ்ந்த நித்திரையில் இருக்கும்போது, ஒரு கூடார முளையையும், சுத்தியலையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு சத்தமில்லாமல் சென்று அவனுடைய நெற்றியில் முளையை வைத்து அடித்தாள். அது அவனுடைய மூளையைத் துளைத்துக்கொண்டு தரைவரை சென்றது. எனவே அவன் இறந்தான்.

23 அந்த நாளில் இறைவன் இஸ்ரயேலர் முன்பாக கானானிய அரசன் யாபீனை அடக்கினார்.

24 அதோடு இஸ்ரயேலரின் கரம் கானானிய அரசன் யாபீனை அழிக்கும்வரை மென்மேலும் வலிமையடைந்தது.
