நியாயாதிபதிகள் 17
1 எப்பிராயீம் மலைநாட்டில் மீகா என்னும் பெயருடைய ஒரு மனிதன் இருந்தான்.
And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.
2 அவன் தன் தாயிடம், “உம்மிடமிருந்து ஆயிரத்து நூறு சேக்கல் வெள்ளிகள் தொலைந்திருந்ததே. அதைக்குறித்து நீர் சாபமிட்டதை நான் கேட்டேன். அந்த வெள்ளியை நானே எடுத்தேன். அவை என்னிடம் இருக்கிறது” என்றான். அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய தாய் அவனிடம், “என் மகனே நீ அதை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டபடியினால் யெகோவா உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிப்பாராக” என்றாள்.
And he said unto his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you, about which you cursed, and spoke of also in mine ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be you of the LORD, my son.
3 அவன் அந்த ஆயிரத்து நூறு சேக்கல் வெள்ளியைத் தன் தாயிடம் திருப்பிக் கொடுக்கவந்தபோது அவள், “இந்த வெள்ளியைக்கொண்டு செதுக்கப்பட்ட உருவச்சிலையையும், வார்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட விக்கிரகத்தையும் செய்வதற்கு பயபக்தியுடன் யெகோவாவுக்கு அர்ப்பணம் பண்ணியிருந்தேன். உன் மூலமே அதைச் செய்ய எண்ணியிருந்தபடியால், இதை நான் மீண்டும் உன்னிடம் தருகிறேன்” என்றாள்.
And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto you.
4 அப்படியே அவன் அந்த வெள்ளியைத் தன் தாயிடம் திருப்பிக் கொடுத்தான். அவள் அதில் இருநூறு சேக்கலை எடுத்து அதைக் கொல்லனிடம் கொடுத்தாள். அவன் அதைக்கொண்டு உருவச்சிலையையும், விக்கிரகத்தையும் செய்தான். அவை மீகாவின் வீட்டில் வைக்கப்பட்டன.
Yet he restored the money unto his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.
5 இந்த தெய்வங்களுக்கென்று ஒரு அறை மீகாவுக்கு இருந்தது. அவன் அங்கே ஒரு ஏபோத்தையும், சில உருவச்சிலைகளையும் உண்டுபண்ணி, தனது மகன்களில் ஒருவனைப் பூசாரியாக நியமித்தான்.
And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.
6 அந்நாட்களில் இஸ்ரயேலில் அரசன் இருக்கவில்லை. ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் பார்வைக்குச் சரியானதையே செய்து வந்தான்.
In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
7 யூதாவிலுள்ள பெத்லெகேமில் லேவிய வாலிபன் ஒருவன் இருந்தான்; அவன் யூதா வம்சத்திற்குள் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தான்.
And there was a young man out of Bethlehemjudah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.
8 அவன் அந்த பட்டணத்தைவிட்டுத் தான் குடியிருக்க வேறு ஒரு இடத்தைத் தேடிப் போனான். போகும் வழியில் எப்பிராயீம் மலைநாட்டிலுள்ள மீகாவின் வீட்டிற்கு வந்தான்.
And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.
9 மீகா அவனிடம், “எங்கிருந்து நீ வருகிறாய்?” என்று கேட்டான். “நான் யூதாவிலுள்ள பெத்லெகேமைச் சேர்ந்த லேவியன். நான் இருப்பதற்கு ஒரு இடம் தேடுகிறேன்” என்று சொன்னான்.
And Micah said unto him, Whence come you? And he said unto him, I am a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.
10 அப்பொழுது மீகா அவனிடம், “நீ எனக்குத் தகப்பனாகவும், பூசாரியாகவும் என்னுடன் இரு. நான் உனக்கு ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு பத்து சேக்கல் வெள்ளியும், உணவும், உடையும் தருகிறேன்” என்று சொன்னான்.
And Micah said unto him, Dwell with me, and be unto me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and your victuals. So the Levite went in.
11 எனவே அந்த லேவியன் அவனோடிருப்பதற்கு சம்மதித்தான். அவன் மீகாவின் மகன்களில் ஒருவனைப்போல் அங்கே இருந்தான்.
And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was unto him as one of his sons.
12 அப்பொழுது மீகா அந்த லேவி வாலிபனைப் பூசாரியாக நியமித்தான். அவன் மீகாவின் வீட்டில் இருந்தான்.
And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.
13 மீகா தனக்குள்ளே, “ஒரு லேவியன் எனது பூசாரியாக வந்திருக்கின்றபடியால், யெகோவா எனக்கு நன்மை செய்வார் என்பதை நான் அறிகிறேன்” என்று சொல்லிக்கொண்டான்.
Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.
