யோசுவா 21

1 அதன்பின் லேவி கோத்திரத்தின் குடும்பத் தலைவர்கள், ஆசாரியன் எலெயாசாரையும், நூனின் மகனாகிய யோசுவாவையும், மற்றும் இஸ்ரயேல் கோத்திரத் தலைவர்களையும்

While Eleazar the Supreme Priest and Joshua and the leaders of all the Israeli tribes were at Shiloh, the leaders of the clans of the tribe of Levi went to them and said, “Yahweh commanded Moses that you should give us towns where we can have pasture/fields/grassland for our animals, [but you have not done these things yet].”

2 கானான் தேசத்தில் உள்ள சீலோ நகரில் சந்தித்தார்கள். அவர்கள், “யெகோவா மோசே மூலமாக நாங்கள் வசிப்பதற்குப் பட்டணங்களையும் எங்கள் மந்தைகளுக்கு மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களையும் நீங்கள் கொடுக்கவேண்டும் எனக் கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தார்” என்று அவர்களுக்கு நினைவுபடுத்தினார்கள்.

3 எனவே யெகோவா கட்டளையிட்டபடியே இஸ்ரயேலர், லேவியர்களுக்குத் தமது சொத்துரிமையில் இருந்து, பின்வரும் பட்டணங்களையும், மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

So the Israeli leaders obeyed this command from Yahweh. They agreed to give towns and pasturelands to the tribe of Levi.

4 முதலாவது சீட்டு வம்சம் வம்சமாக கோகாத்தியருக்கு விழுந்தது. ஆசாரியன் ஆரோனின் வழித்தோன்றிய லேவியருக்கு யூதா, சிமியோன், பென்யமீன் ஆகிய கோத்திரங்களின் பங்கில் இருந்து பதின்மூன்று பட்டணங்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

[First] they allotted some cities to the Kohath clans, who belonged to the tribe of Levi. To those who were descendants of the first Supreme Priest Aaron, they allotted 13 towns in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.

5 கோகாத்தின் மற்ற வம்சங்களுக்கு, எப்பிராயீம், தாண், மனாசேயின் அரைக்கோத்திரம் ஆகிய வம்சங்களுக்கும் நியமித்த பகுதியிலிருந்து பத்துப் பட்டணங்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

To the other members of the Kohath clan they allotted ten cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lives on the west side of the Jordan River].

6 கெர்சோனின் வழித்தோன்றலுக்கு இசக்கார், ஆசேர், நப்தலி கோத்திரங்களிலும், பாசானில் தங்கிய மனாசேயின் அரைக் கோத்திரத்திலும் உள்ள வம்சங்களின் பங்கில் இருந்து பதின்மூன்று பட்டணங்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

The people from the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and the part of the tribe of Manasseh that lives on the east side of the Jordan [River].

7 மெராரி சந்ததிகள் வம்சம் வம்சமாக ரூபன், காத், செபுலோன் ஆகிய கோத்திரங்களிலிருந்து பன்னிரண்டு பட்டணங்களைப் பெற்றார்கள்.

The people from the Merari clans were allotted twelve cities in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.

8 யெகோவா மோசேயின் மூலம் கட்டளையிட்டபடியே, இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் இந்தப் பட்டணங்களையும், அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களையும் லேவியர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

So the Israeli leaders gave cities and pastureland to the tribe of Levi, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses that they should do.

9 யூதா, சிமியோன் கோத்திரங்களின் பங்கிலிருந்து கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பெயர்களின்படி பட்டணங்களாவன:

These are the names of the cities and surrounding pasturelands that were allotted to them, that were in the areas where the tribes of Judah and Simeon lived.

10 ஆரோனின் வழித்தோன்றல்களுக்கு முதல் சீட்டு விழுந்ததால் இப்பட்டணங்கள் அவர்களுக்கென ஒதுக்கப்பட்டன. இவர்கள் லேவி கோத்திரத்தில் கோகாத்தின் வம்சத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்.

First, they allotted cities to the members of the Kohath clans.

11 இவ்விதமாக இஸ்ரயேலர் யூதாவின் மலைநாட்டிலுள்ள எப்ரோனையும் அதாவது கீரியாத் அர்பா அதைச் சுற்றியிருந்த மேய்ச்சல் நிலத்தையும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள். அர்பா என்பவன் ஏனாக்கியரின் முற்பிதா.

They allotted to them Kiriath-Arba (which is [now named] Hebron), in the hilly area of Judah. Arba received its name because Arba was the ancestor of [the giants of] the Anak people-group.

12 ஆனால் அந்நகரைச் சுற்றியிருந்த வெளிநிலங்களையும், கிராமங்களையுமோ எப்புன்னேயின் மகனாகிய காலேபுக்குச் சொந்தமாகக் கொடுத்திருந்தார்கள்.

But the fields and villages surrounding Arba had already been allotted to Caleb.

13 இவ்வாறு ஆசாரியனான ஆரோனின் சந்ததிகளுக்கு கொலைக்குற்றம் சுமத்தப்பட்டவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப் பட்டணமாயிருந்த எப்ரோனைக் கொடுத்தார்கள். லிப்னா,

They allotted to them Hebron, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected. They also allotted to the Kohath clan the cities of Libnah,

14 யாத்தீர், எஸ்தெமோவா,

Jattir, Eshtemoa,

15 ஓலோன், தெபீர்,

Holon, Debir,

16 ஆயின், யுத்தா, பெத்ஷிமேஷ் ஆகிய பட்டணங்களையும் அத்துடன் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தார்கள். யூதா, சிமியோன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து எல்லாமாக ஒன்பது பட்டணங்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Ain, Juttah, and Beth-Shemesh. Altogether they were allotted those nine cities which were located in the areas that had been allotted to the tribes of Judah and Simeon.

17 பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தின் பங்கிலிருந்து கிபியோன், கேபா,

The Kohath clan was also allotted these four cities: Gibeon, Geba,

18 ஆனதோத், அல்மோன் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களுடன் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களையும் கொடுத்தான்.

Anathoth, and Almon. Those cities were in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Benjamin.

19 ஆரோனின் வழித்தோன்றலான ஆசாரியருக்கு மொத்தம் பதின்மூன்று பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Altogether those 13 towns and surrounding pastureland were allotted to the priests who were descended from Aaron.

20 லேவியரான கோகாத்தின் வம்சத்தைச் சேர்ந்த பிறருக்கு எப்பிராயீம் கோத்திரத்தின் பங்கிலிருந்து பட்டணங்கள் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

The other members the Kohath clan were allotted four cities and the surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Ephraim.

21 எப்பிராயீம் மலைநாட்டில் கொலைக்குற்றம் சுமத்தப்பட்டவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப் பட்டணமாயிருந்த சீகேம், கேசேர்,

Those cities were Shechem (which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Gezer,

22 கிப்சாயீம், பெத் ஓரோன் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களுடன் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Kibzaim, and Beth-Horon.

23 அதோடு தாண் கோத்திரத்தாரின் பங்கிலிருந்து எல்தெக்கே, கிபெத்தோன்,

They were also allotted four cities and surrounding pastureland in the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Dan. Those cities were Eltekeh, Gibbethon,

24 ஆயலோன், காத்ரிம்மோன் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களுடன் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களையும் பெற்றார்கள்.

Aijalon, and Gath-Rimmon.

25 மனாசேயின் பாதிக் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து தானா, காத்ரிம்மோன் ஆகிய இரு பட்டணங்களுடன் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களையும் பெற்றார்கள்.

They were also allotted two towns and surrounding pastureland that had been allotted to [the] part of the tribe of Manasseh [that lived on the west side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Taanach and Gath-Rimmon.

26 மேற்கூறிய பத்துப் பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் கோகாத்தியரின் வம்சங்களில் எஞ்சியோருக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Those were the ten cities and surrounding pastureland that were allotted to the other members of the Kohath clan.

27 லேவி கோத்திரத்தின் கெர்சோன் வம்சத்தினருக்கு மனாசேயின் அரைக் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து பாசானிலுள்ள கொலைக்குற்றம் சுமத்தப்பட்டவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப் பட்டணமான கோலானும், பெயெஷ்தெராவுமான இரு பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

They also allotted towns and the surrounding pastureland to the Gershon clans. Those clans were also descended from Levi. They were allotted two cities from the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Manasseh [that is on the east side of the Jordan River]. Those cities were Golan in the Bashan region, which was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, and Be-Eshtarah.

28 இசக்கார் கோத்திரத்தின் பங்கிலிருந்து கிசோயோன் தாபேராத்,

From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Issachar they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Kishion, Daberath,

29 யர்மூத், என்கன்னீம் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Jarmuth, and En-Gannim.

30 ஆசேர் கோத்திரத்தின் பங்கிலிருந்து மிஷாயால், அப்தோன்,

From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Asher they were allotted four cities. Those cities were Mishal, Abdon,

31 எல்காத், ரேகோப் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டன.

Helkath, and Rehob.

32 நப்தலி கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து கலிலேய பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள கொலைக்குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப் பட்டணமான கேதேஷ், அமோத்தோர், கர்தான் ஆகிய மூன்று பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Naphtali they were allotted three cities. Those cities were Kedesh in the Galilee region (it was one of the cities to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected), Hammoth-Dor, and Kartan.

33 கெர்சோனிய வம்சங்களுக்கு மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களோடு வழங்கப்பட்ட பட்டணங்கள் எல்லாம் பதின்மூன்றாக இருந்தன.

So altogether the Gershon clans were allotted 13 cities and the surrounding pasturelands.

34 மற்ற லேவியர்களாகிய மெராரி வம்சங்களுக்குச் செபுலோன் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து யொக்னீம், கர்தா,

The other descendants of Levi, the ones who belonged to the Merari clans, were also allotted towns and their surrounding pasturelands. From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Zebulun they were allotted four cities. They were Jokneam, Kartah,

35 திம்னா, நகலால் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Dimnah, and Nahalal.

36 ரூபனின் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து பேசேர், யாகாசா,

From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Reuben they were allotted four cities. They were Bezer, Jahaz,

37 கெதெமோத், மேபாகாத் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Kedemoth, and Mephaath.

38 காத் கோத்திரத்திலிருந்து கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள கொலைக்குற்றம் சுமத்தப்பட்டவனுக்கு அடைக்கலப் பட்டணமான ராமோத், மகனாயீம்

From the area that had been allotted to the tribe of Gad they were allotted four cities. They were Ramoth, which was one of the cities in the Gilead region to which people could run/escape to be safe/protected, Mahanaim,

39 எஸ்போன், யாசேர் ஆகிய நான்கு பட்டணங்களும் அவற்றின் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்களும் வழங்கப்பட்டன.

Heshbon, and Jazer.

40 லேவி கோத்திரத்தின் எஞ்சிய பகுதியினரான மெராரியர் வம்சங்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்ட பட்டணங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை பன்னிரண்டு ஆகும்.

Altogether twelve cities were allotted to the Merari clans.

41 இஸ்ரயேலரிடம் இருந்த நிலப்பரப்பில், மேய்ச்சல் நிலத்தோடு லேவியருக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பட்டணங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை எல்லாமாக நாற்பத்தெட்டாக இருந்தது.

So altogether 48 cities were allotted to the tribe of Levi,

42 வழங்கப்பட்ட பட்டணங்கள் ஒவ்வொன்றைச் சுற்றிலும் மேய்ச்சல் நிலங்கள் இருந்தன. எல்லாப் பட்டணங்களும் அவ்வாறே அமைந்திருந்தன.

and each city had surrounding pastureland.

43 இவ்விதமாய் யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலரின் முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பதாக வாக்களித்த எல்லா நிலங்களையும் இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு வழங்கினார். அவர்கள் அந்த நிலத்தை உரிமையாக்கி அங்கே குடியேறினார்கள்.

In that way Yahweh allotted to the Israeli people all the land that he had promised to give to their/our ancestors. The Israeli people took control of [most of] those areas and started to live there.

44 யெகோவா இஸ்ரயேலரின் முற்பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்டபடியே, அவர்களுக்கு நாற்புறமும் அமைதியைக் கொடுத்தார். அவர்களின் எதிரிகளில் ஒருவராயினும் அவர்களை எதிர்த்துநிற்க முடியவில்லை. ஏனெனில் எதிரிகள் அனைவரையும் யெகோவா அவர்களுடைய கையில் ஒப்படைத்தார்.

Just like he had promised our ancestors, Yahweh allowed them/us to have peace with the enemies that surrounded them/us. Yahweh enabled the Israelis/us to defeat their/our enemies.

45 இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு யெகோவா வழங்கிய நல்வாக்குத்தத்தங்களில் ஒன்றாயினும் தவறிப்போகவில்லை. அவை ஒவ்வொன்றும் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டன.

Yahweh did all the things that he had promised to the Israeli people/us. Everything that he said would happen did happen.
