யோவான் 6
1 இவை நடந்த கொஞ்சக் காலத்திற்கு பின்பு, இயேசு கலிலேயா கடலின் மறுகரைக்குச் சென்றார். இது திபேரியா கடல் என்றும் அழைக்கப்பட்டது.
After these things, Jesus went away across the sea of Galilee, that is, of Tiberias;
2 நோயாளிகளுக்கு இயேசு செய்த அடையாளங்களை கண்டிருந்ததினால், மக்கள் பெருங்கூட்டமாக அவரைப் பின்பற்றிச் சென்றார்கள்.
and there was following him a great multitude, because they had been viewing the signs which he did upon such as were sick.
3 அப்பொழுது இயேசு ஒரு மலைச்சரிவில் ஏறிப்போய், தமது சீடர்களுடன் உட்கார்ந்தார்.
But Jesus had gone up into the mountain, and, there, was sitting with his disciples.
4 யூதருடைய பஸ்கா என்ற பண்டிகை சமீபமாயிருந்தது.
Now the passover was near, the feast of the Jews.
5 இயேசு நிமிர்ந்து பார்த்தபோது, மக்கள் பெருங்கூட்டமாகத் தம்மிடம் வருவதைக் கண்டார். அவர் பிலிப்புவிடம், “இந்த மக்கள் சாப்பிடும்படி உணவை நாம் எங்கே வாங்கலாம்?” என்று கேட்டார்.
So then Jesus, lifting up his eyes, and beholding that a great multitude was coming unto him, saith unto Philip—Whence are we to buy loaves, that these may eat?
6 அவனைச் சோதித்துப் பார்ப்பதற்காகவே இயேசு அதைக் கேட்டார். ஏனெனில் தாம் என்ன செய்யப்போகிறார் என்று அவர் ஏற்கெனவே தீர்மானித்திருந்தார்.
But, this, he was saying, to test him; for, he himself, knew, what he was about to do.
7 பிலிப்பு இயேசுவுக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் ஒரு கைப்பிடி அளவு உணவு கொடுத்தால்கூட, இவர்களுக்காக உணவு வாங்க, ஆறுமாதச் சம்பளம் போதாதே!” என்றான்.
Philip answered him—Two hundred denaries-worth of loaves, are not sufficient for them, that, each one, may take, a little.
8 அவருடைய சீடர்களில் இன்னொருவனான சீமோன் பேதுருவின் சகோதரன் அந்திரேயா அவரிடம்,
One from among his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, saith unto him—
9 “இங்கே ஒரு சிறுவனிடம் ஐந்து வாற்கோதுமை அப்பங்களும், இரண்டு சிறு மீன்களும் இருக்கின்றன. ஆனால் இவ்வளவு பெரும் கூட்டமான மக்களுக்கு அது எப்படிப் போதும்?” என்றான்.
There is a little lad here, that hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes, —but, these, —what are they, for such numbers?
10 அதற்கு இயேசுவோ, “மக்களை உட்காரச் செய்யுங்கள்” என்றார். அந்த இடமோ புல் நிறைந்த தரையாய் இருந்தது. எனவே மக்கள் உட்கார்ந்தார்கள். அவர்களில் ஆண்கள் மட்டும் ஏறக்குறைய ஐயாயிரம் பேராயிருந்தார்கள்.
Jesus said—Make the people recline. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men reclined, to the number of about five thousand.
11 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அந்த அப்பங்களை எடுத்து, இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தியபின் அங்கு உட்கார்ந்திருப்பவர்களுக்கு வேண்டியமட்டும் பகிர்ந்து கொடுத்தார். மீன்களையும் அவ்விதமாகவே கொடுத்தார்.
Jesus therefore took the loaves, and, giving thanks, went on distributing unto them that reclined; in like manner, of the small fishes also: as much as they were wishing.
12 அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் திருப்தியாய் சாப்பிட்டு முடிந்ததும், இயேசு சீடர்களிடம், “மீதியாயிருக்கும் அப்பத்துண்டுகளை சேர்த்து எடுத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் வீணாக்கக் கூடாது” என்றார்.
And, when they were well-filled, he saith unto his disciples—Gather up the broken pieces left over, that nothing be lost.
13 அப்படியே அவர்கள் மீந்தவற்றைச் சேர்த்தெடுத்தார்கள். அந்த ஐந்து வாற்கோதுமை அப்பத்தின் துண்டுகளிலிருந்து சாப்பிட்டு மீதியாய் விடப்பட்டவற்றை அவர்கள் பன்னிரண்டு கூடைகளில் நிரப்பினார்கள்.
So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets, with broken pieces out of the five barley loaves, —which were left over by them who had eaten.
14 இயேசு செய்த அந்த அற்புத அடையாளத்தை மக்கள் கண்டபோது, “நிச்சயமாக இவரே உலகத்திற்கு வரவேண்டியிருந்த இறைவாக்கினர்” என்று சொல்லத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
The people, therefore, seeing what signs he wrought, began to say—This, is, of a truth, the prophet who was to come into the world.
15 அவர்கள் தம்மைப் பலவந்தமாய் தங்களுடைய அரசனாக்க எண்ணியிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று இயேசு அறிந்தார். எனவே அவர் அவர்களைவிட்டு விலகி, மீண்டும் தனியாகவே ஒரு மலைக்குச் சென்றார்.
Jesus, therefore, getting to know that they were about to come, and seize him, that they might make him king, retired again into the mountain, himself, alone.
16 மாலையானபோது, அவருடைய சீடர்கள் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கி கடலுக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
But, when evening came, his disciples went down unto the sea;
17 அங்கே அவர்கள் ஒரு படகில் ஏறி, கடலைக் கடந்து கப்பர்நகூமுக்குப் போகப் புறப்பட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது இருட்டிவிட்டது, இயேசுவோ இன்னும் அவர்களுடன் வந்து சேரவில்லை.
and, entering into a boat, were going across the sea into Capernaum. And, dark, already, had it become, and, not yet, had Jesus reached them;
18 கடும் காற்று வீசிக்கொண்டிருந்தது. அதனால் கடல் கொந்தளித்தது.
moreover the sea, by reason of a great wind that blew, was rising high.
19 அவர்கள் ஐந்து அல்லது ஆறு கிலோமீட்டர் தூரம்வரை கட்டுப்படுத்திச் சென்றுகொண்டிருந்தபோது, இயேசு கடலின்மேல் நடந்து படகின் அருகில் வந்தார்; அவர்கள் அவரைக்கண்டு பயந்தார்கள்.
Having therefore rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they observe Jesus, walking upon the sea, and, near the boat, coming; and they were affrighted.
20 இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நான்தான்; பயப்படவேண்டாம்” என்றார்.
But, he, saith unto them—It is, I: be not affrighted!
21 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவரைப் படகில் ஏற்றிக்கொள்ள விரும்பினார்கள். ஏற்றிக்கொண்டவுடன் படகு அவர்கள் போய்ச் சேரவேண்டிய கரையை அடைந்தது.
They were willing, therefore, to receive him into the boat; and, straightway, the boat was at land, whither they had been slowly going.
22 மறுநாள் கடலின் மறுகரையில் தங்கியிருந்த மக்கள், அங்கே ஒரு படகு மட்டுமே இருந்தது என்றும், அதிலே இயேசு தமது சீடர்களுடன் ஏறவில்லை என்றும், சீடர்கள் மட்டுமே அதில் சென்றார்கள் என்றும் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.
On the morrow, the multitude that was standing on the other side of the sea, saw that there was not, another small-boat, there, save one, —and that Jesus entered not, along with his disciples, unto the boat, but that, alone, his disciples departed: —
23 பின்பு திபேரியாவிலிருந்து சில படகுகள், கர்த்தர் நன்றி செலுத்தி பகிர்ந்து கொடுத்த அப்பத்தை மக்கள் சாப்பிட்ட இடத்தின் அருகே வந்துசேர்ந்தன.
howbeit there came boats out of Tiberias, near the place where they did eat the bread, after the Lord had given thanks: —
24 எனவே அங்கு கூடிவந்த மக்கள், இயேசுவும் அவருடைய சீடர்களும் அங்கு இல்லையென்று கண்டார்கள். உடனே அவர்கள் இயேசுவைத் தேடிக்கொண்டு அங்கிருந்த கப்பல்களில் ஏறி கப்பர்நகூமுக்குச் சென்றார்கள்.
When, therefore, the multitude saw, that, Jesus, was not there, nor yet his disciples, they themselves, got into the small boats, and came unto Capernaum, seeking Jesus;
25 கடலின் மறுகரையிலே அவர்கள் இயேசுவைக் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள் அவரிடம், “போதகரே, எப்பொழுது நீர் இங்கே வந்தீர்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
and, finding him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him—Rabbi! when, camest thou, hither?
26 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நான் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன், நீங்கள் அடையாளங்களைக் கண்டதினால் அல்ல, இங்கே திருப்தியாகச் சாப்பிட்டதினாலேயே என்னைத் தேடுகிறீர்கள்.
Jesus answered them, and said—Verily, verily, I say unto you: Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye did eat of the loaves and were filled.
27 அழிந்துபோகும் உணவுக்காக வேலைசெய்யவேண்டாம், நித்திய வாழ்வுவரை நிலைநிற்கும் உணவுக்காகவே வேலைசெய்யுங்கள். அதை மானிடமகனாகிய நான் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்; பிதாவாகிய இறைவன் என்மேலேயே தமது அங்கீகாரத்தின் முத்திரையைப் பதித்திருக்கிறார்” என்றார். (aiōnios g166)
Be working, not for the food that perisheth, but for the food that endureth unto life age-abiding, —which, the Son of Man, unto you, will give; for upon, the same, hath the Father, even God, set his seal. (aiōnios g166)
28 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “இறைவனுடைய வேலையை நிறைவேற்ற நாங்கள் என்ன செய்யவேண்டும்?” என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
They said, therefore, unto him—What are we to do, that we may be working the works of God?
29 இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “இறைவன் அனுப்பிய என்னை விசுவாசிப்பதே இறைவனுடைய வேலை” என்றார்.
Jesus answered, and said unto them—This, is the work of God: that ye believe on him whom, he, hath sent forth.
30 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “நாங்கள் கண்டு உம்மை விசுவாசிக்கும்படி, நீர் எங்களுக்கு என்ன அடையாளத்தைக் கொடுப்பீர்? என்னத்தைச் செய்வீர்?
They said, therefore, unto him—What, then, art, thou, doing, by way of sign, that we may see, and believe in thee: what art thou working?
31 எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் பாலைவனத்தில் மன்னா என்னும் உணவைச் சாப்பிட்டார்களே; ‘அவர்கள் சாப்பிடுவதற்கு அவர் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து உணவு கொடுத்தார்’ என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே” என்றார்கள்.
Our fathers, did eat, the manna, in the desert, —just as it is written: Bread out of heaven, he gave them to eat.
32 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், பரலோகத்திலிருந்து உங்களுக்கு உணவு கொடுத்தது மோசே அல்ல, என் பிதாவே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த உண்மையான உணவை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கிறார்.
Jesus said unto them—Verily, verily, I say unto you: Not Moses, gave you the bread out of heaven; but, my Father, giveth you the real bread out of heaven.
33 பரலோகத்திலிருந்து இறங்கிவந்து, உலகத்துக்கு ஜீவன் கொடுக்கிற நானே இறைவனின் உணவு” என்றார்.
For, the bread of God, is that which is coming down out of heaven, and giving, life, unto the world.
34 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் இயேசுவிடம், “ஆண்டவரே, எப்பொழுதும் இந்த உணவை நீர் எங்களுக்குத் தாரும்” என்றார்கள்.
They said, therefore, unto him—Sir! Evermore, give us this bread.
35 அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “நானே ஜீவ அப்பம். என்னிடம் வருகிறவன் ஒருபோதும் பசியுடன் போகமாட்டான். என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறவன் ஒருபோதும் தாகமடையமாட்டான்.
Jesus said unto them—I, am the bread of life: he that cometh unto me, in nowise shall hunger, and, he that believeth on me, in nowise shall thirst, any more.
36 நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னபடியே, நீங்கள் என்னைக் கண்டு இன்னும் விசுவாசியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்.
But I told you—Ye have even seen [me], and yet do not believe.
37 பிதா எனக்குக் கொடுக்கின்ற அனைவரும் என்னிடம் வருவார்கள். என்னிடம் வருகிற ஒருவரையும் நான் துரத்திவிடமாட்டேன்.
All that which the Father is giving me, unto me, will have come, and, him that cometh unto me, in nowise will I cast out, —
38 ஏனெனில் நான் என்னுடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்வதற்காக அல்ல, என்னை அனுப்பினவருடைய சித்தத்தைச் செய்வதற்காகவே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்திருக்கிறேன்.
Because I have come down from heaven, —Not that I should be doing my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39 அவர் எனக்குத் தந்திருப்பவர்கள் எல்லோரிலும் நான் ஒருவரையும் இழந்துவிடக் கூடாது. கடைசி நாளிலே நான் அவர்களை எழுப்பவேண்டும் என்பதே என்னை அனுப்பினவருடைய சித்தமாயிருக்கிறது.
And, this, is the will of him that sent me, That, of all that which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
40 என்னைக் கண்டு என்னில் விசுவாசம் வைக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவரும், நித்திய ஜீவனைப் பெறவேண்டும். கடைசி நாளில் நான் அவர்களை எழுப்பவேண்டும் என்பதே என் பிதாவின் சித்தமாயிருக்கிறது” என்றார். (aiōnios g166)
For, this, is the will of my Father, That, every one that vieweth the Son, and believeth on him, should have life age-abiding, and, I, should raise him up, at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
41 “நானே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து கீழே வந்த உணவு” என்று இயேசு சொன்னதால், யூதர்களில் சிலர் அவரைக்குறித்து முறுமுறுக்கத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
The Jews, therefore, began to murmur concerning him, because he said—I, am the bread that came down out of heaven;
42 அவர்கள் இயேசுவைப்பற்றி, “இவர் யோசேப்பின் மகன் இயேசு அல்லவா? இவருடைய தகப்பனையும் தாயையும் நமக்குத் தெரியுமே. அப்படியிருக்க, ‘நான் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்தேன்’ என்று இப்பொழுது இவர் எப்படிச் சொல்லலாம்?” என்றார்கள்.
and were saying—Is not, this, Jesus, the son of Joseph, —of whom, we, know the father and the mother! How is it then, that he, now, saith: Out of heaven, have I come down?
43 இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக, “உங்களுக்குள்ளே முறுமுறுத்துக் கொள்வதை நிறுத்துங்கள்” என்றார்.
Jesus answered, and said unto them—Be not murmuring, one with another:
44 “என்னை அனுப்பிய பிதா, ஒருவனை ஈர்த்துக்கொள்ளாவிட்டால், ஒருவரும் என்னிடத்தில் வரமாட்டார்கள். என்னிடம் வருகிறவரையோ நான் கடைசி நாளில் எழுப்புவேன்.
No one, can come unto me, except, the Father who sent me, draw him, —and, I, will raise him up, in the last day.
45 ‘அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் இறைவனால் போதிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பார்கள்’ என்று இறைவாக்கினர்களால் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. அப்படியே பிதாவுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவரிடம் கற்றுக்கொள்கிற ஒவ்வொருவனும் என்னிடம் வருகிறான்.
It is written in the prophets, —And they shall be, all, the instructed of God: Every one who hath heard of the Father, and learned, cometh unto me.
46 இறைவனிடமிருந்து வந்த என்னைத்தவிர, ஒருவரும் பிதாவைக் கண்டதில்லை; நான் மட்டுமே பிதாவைக் கண்டிருக்கிறேன்.
Not that any one hath seen, the Father, save he who is from God, —this one, hath seen the Father.
47 மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன், என்னை விசுவாசிக்கிறவர்களுக்கு நித்திய ஜீவன் உண்டு. (aiōnios g166)
Verily, verily, I say unto you: He that believeth, hath life age-abiding. (aiōnios g166)
48 நானே ஜீவ அப்பம்.
I am the bread of life: —
49 உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் பாலைவனத்தில் மன்னா என்னும் உணவைச் சாப்பிட்டார்கள்; ஆனால் அவர்கள் இறந்துபோனார்களே.
Your fathers, did eat, in the desert, the manna, —and died:
50 ஆனால் புசிக்கிறவர்கள் சாகாமல் இருக்கக்கூடிய அப்பம் இங்கு இருக்கிறது. அது பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்திருக்கிறது.
This, is the bread which, out of heaven, cometh down, that one, thereof, may eat, —and not die.
51 நானே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த ஜீவ அப்பம். யாராவது இந்த அப்பத்தைச் சாப்பிட்டால், அவர்கள் என்றென்றும் வாழ்வார்கள். உலகத்தின் வாழ்வுக்காக நான் கொடுக்கும் அப்பம் எனது மாம்சமே” என்றார். (aiōn g165)
I, am the living bread, which, out of heaven, came down: If one eat of this bread, he shall live unto times age-abiding; and, the bread, moreover, which, I, will give, is, my flesh—for the world’s life. (aiōn g165)
52 அப்பொழுது யூதர்கள், “இவன் எப்படி தன் மாம்சத்தை நமக்குச் சாப்பிடக் கொடுப்பான்?” என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே கடுமையாய் வாக்குவாதம் பண்ணத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
The Jews, therefore, began to strive one with another, saying—How can this one, unto us, give his flesh to eat?
53 இயேசு அவர்களிடம், “மெய்யாகவே மெய்யாகவே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன். நீங்கள் மானிடமகனாகிய எனது மாம்சத்தைச் சாப்பிட்டு, என்னுடைய இரத்தத்தை பானம் பண்ணாவிட்டால் உங்களுக்குள்ளே ஜீவன் இருக்கமாட்டாது.
Jesus, therefore, said unto them—Verily, verily, I say unto you—Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, ye have not life within yourselves.
54 எனது மாம்சத்தைப் புசித்து, என் இரத்தத்தை பானம் பண்ணுகிறவருக்கு, நித்திய ஜீவன் உண்டு. நான் அவரை கடைசி நாளில் உயிரோடு எழுப்புவேன். (aiōnios g166)
He that feedeth upon my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath life age-abiding, and, I, will raise him up at the last day; (aiōnios g166)
55 ஏனெனில் எனது மாம்சமே உண்மையான உணவு. எனது இரத்தமே உண்மையான பானம்.
For, my flesh, is, true, food, and, my blood, is, true, drink:
56 எனது மாம்சத்தைப் புசித்து, எனது இரத்தத்தைப் பானம் பண்ணுகிறவர், என்னில் தங்கி வாழ்கிறார். நானும் அவரில் வாழ்கிறேன்.
He that feedeth upon my flesh, and drinketh my blood, in me, abideth, and, I, in him.
57 ஜீவனுள்ள பிதா என்னை அனுப்பினார். பிதாவின் நிமித்தமே நான் உயிர் வாழ்கிறேன். அதைப் போலவே என் மாம்சத்தைப் புசிக்கிறவர் என் நிமித்தம் வாழ்வடைவார்.
Just as the living Father sent me, —and I live by reason of the Father, he also that feedeth upon me, even he, shall live by reason of me.
58 இதுவே பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வந்த அப்பம். உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்கள் மன்னா புசித்தும் இறந்துபோனார்கள். ஆனால் இந்த அப்பத்தைச் சாப்பிடுகிறவர் என்றென்றுமாய் வாழ்வார்” என்றார். (aiōn g165)
This, is the bread, which, out of heaven, came down: —Not just as your fathers did eat—and died! He that feedeth upon this bread, shall live unto times age-abiding. (aiōn g165)
59 இயேசு கப்பர்நகூமிலே ஜெப ஆலயத்தில் போதித்தபோது இதைச் சொன்னார்.
These things, said he, as, in a synagogue, he was teaching, in Capernaum.
60 இதைக் கேட்ட இயேசுவினுடைய சீடர்களில் பலர், “இது ஒரு கடுமையான போதனை. யாரால் இதை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியும்?” என்றார்கள்.
Many, of his disciples, therefore, when they heard, said—Hard, is this discourse, —Who can, thereunto, hearken?
61 தமது சீடர்கள் இதைக்குறித்து முறுமுறுக்கிறார்கள் என்று இயேசு அறிந்து அவர்களிடம், “இது உங்கள் மனதுக்கு கஷ்டமாய் இருக்கிறதா?
But Jesus, knowing within himself that his disciples were murmuring concerning this, said unto them—Doth, this, cause, you, to stumble?
62 மானிடமகனாகிய நான் முன்பிருந்த இடத்திற்கு மேலெழுந்து போவதை நீங்கள் கண்டீர்களானால், அது உங்களுக்கு எப்படியிருக்கும்!
[What] then, if ye should view the Son of Man ascending where he was before? …
63 பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரே ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கிறார்; மாம்சமானதோ ஒன்றுக்கும் உதவாது. நான் உங்களுடன் பேசிய வார்த்தைகள் ஆவியானவரையும் ஜீவனையும் கொண்டுள்ளன.
The spirit, it is, that giveth life, —the flesh, profiteth, nothing: The declarations which, I, have spoken unto you, are, spirit, and, are, life.
64 ஆனால் உங்களில் சிலர் விசுவாசியாமல் இருக்கிறீர்கள்” என்றார். ஏனெனில் இயேசு தொடக்கத்திலிருந்தே அவர்களில் யார் தம்மை விசுவாசிக்கவில்லை என்றும், யார் தம்மைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான் என்றும் அறிந்திருந்தார்.
But there are some from among you, who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who it was would deliver him up; —
65 மேலும் இயேசு சொன்னதாவது, “யாரையாவது என் பிதா எனக்கு கொடுத்தால் மட்டுமே, அவர் என்னிடம் வரமுடியும் என்று இதனாலேயே நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னேன்” என்றார்.
and he went on to say—For this cause, have I said unto you: No one, can come unto me, except it have been given him, of the Father.
66 அப்பொழுதிலிருந்து இயேசுவின் சீடர்களில் பலர் அவரைவிட்டுத் திரும்பிப் போய்விட்டார்கள். தொடர்ந்து அவர்கள் அவரைப் பின்பற்றவில்லை.
Because of this, many from among his disciples, went away back, and, no longer, with him, were walking.
67 அப்பொழுது இயேசு பன்னிரண்டு பேரிடமும், “நீங்களும் போய்விட விரும்புகிறீர்களா?” என்று கேட்டார்.
Jesus, therefore, said unto the twelve—Are, ye also, wishing to withdraw?
68 சீமோன் பேதுரு அதற்குப் பதிலாக, “ஆண்டவரே, நாங்கள் யாரிடம் போவோம்? நித்திய ஜீவ வார்த்தைகள் உம்மிடம் அல்லவா உண்டு. (aiōnios g166)
Simon Peter answered him—Lord! unto whom, shall we go? Declarations of life age-abiding, thou hast; (aiōnios g166)
69 நீர் இறைவனின் பரிசுத்தர் என்று நாங்கள் விசுவாசித்தும் அறிந்தும் இருக்கிறோம்” என்றான்.
And, we, have believed, and come to know, —that, thou, art the Holy One of God.
70 அப்பொழுது இயேசு, “பன்னிரண்டு பேராகிய உங்களை நான் தெரிந்துகொள்ளவில்லையா? ஆனால் உங்களில் ஒருவன் பிசாசாக இருக்கிறான்!” என்றார்.
Jesus answered them—Did not, I, make choice, of you, the twelve? And yet, from among you, one, is, an adversary.
71 இயேசு சீமோன் ஸ்காரியோத்தின் மகனான யூதாஸைக் குறித்தே இவ்விதம் சொன்னார். அவன் பன்னிரண்டு பேரில் ஒருவனாயிருந்தும் அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறவனாய் இருந்தான்.
Now he was speaking of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot: for, the same, was about to deliver him up, —one of the twelve.
